Over the past decade, orbital angular momentum has garnered considerable interest in the field of plasmonics owing to the emergence of surface-confined vortices, known as plasmonic vortices. Significant progress has been made in the generation and manipulation of plasmonic vortices, which broadly unveil the natures of plasmonic spin–orbit coupling and provide accessible means for light–matter interactions. However, traditional characterizations in the frequency domain miss some detailed information on the plasmonic vortex evolution process. Herein, an exotic spin–orbit coupling phenomenon is demonstrated. More specifically, we theoretically investigated and experimentally verified a temporally deuterogenic vortex mode, which can be observed only in the time domain and interferes destructively in the intensity field. The spatiotemporal evolution of this concomitant vortex can be tailored with different designs and incident beams. This work extends the fundamental understanding of plasmonic spin–orbit coupling and provides a unique optical force manipulation strategy, which may fuel plasmonic research and applications in the near future.

Background: The log odds of positive lymph nodes (LODDS) was considered a superior staging system to N stage in colon cancer, yet its value in determining the optimal duration of adjuvant chemotherapy for stage III colon cancer patients has not been evaluated. This study aims to assess the prognostic value of a model that combines LODDS with clinicopathological information for stage III colon cancer patients and aims to stratify these patients using the model, identifying individuals who could benefit from varying durations of adjuvant chemotherapy. Method: A total of 663 consecutive patients diagnosed with stage III colon cancer, who underwent colon tumor resection between November 2007 and June 2020 at Sun Yat-sen University Cancer Center and Longyan First Affiliated Hospital of Fujian Medical University, were enrolled in this study. Survival outcomes were analyzed using Kaplan–Meier, Cox regression. Nomograms were developed to forecast patient DFS, with the Area Under the Curve (AUC) values of time-dependent Receiver Operating Characteristic (timeROC) and calibration plots utilized to assess the accuracy and reliability of the nomograms. Results: Multivariate analysis revealed that perineural invasion (HR = 1.776, 95% CI: 1.052–3.003, P = 0.032), poor tumor differentiation (HR = 1.638, 95% CI: 1.084–2.475, P = 0.019), and LODDS groupings of 2 and 1 (HR = 1.920, 95% CI: 1.297–2.842, P = 0.001) were independent predictors of disease-free survival (DFS) in the training cohort. Nomograms constructed from LODDS, perineural invasion, and poor tumor differentiation demonstrated robust predictive performance for 3-year and 5-year DFS in both training (3-year AUC = 0.706, 5-year AUC = 0.678) and validation cohorts (3-year AUC = 0.744, 5-year AUC = 0.762). Stratification according to this model showed that patients in the high-risk group derived significant benefit from completing 8 cycles of chemotherapy (training cohort, 82.97% vs 67.17%, P = 0.013; validation cohort, 89.49% vs 63.97%, P = 0.030). Conclusion: The prognostic model, integrating LODDS, pathological differentiation, and neural invasion, demonstrates strong predictive accuracy for stage III colon cancer prognosis. Terahertz (THz) communication is an up‐and‐coming technology for the sixth‐generation wireless network. The realization of ultra‐high‐speed THz communication requires the combination of multi‐dimensional multiplexing schemes, including polarization division multiplexing (PDM), mode division multiplexing (MDM), and wavelength division multiplexing, to increase channel capacity. However, most existing devices for MDM in the THz regime are single‐purpose and incapable of multi‐dimensional modulation. Here, all‐dielectric metasurfaces are designed for 2D multiplexing/demultiplexing, which takes the lead in combining orbital angular momentum (OAM) MDM and PDM in the THz regime. The multi‐functional wavefront phase modulations and interleaved meta‐atom arrangements are used to realize polarization‐selective multichannel OAM mode (de)multiplexing, in which the linear‐polarized 4‐channel and circular‐polarized 6‐channel demultiplexing are experimentally demonstrated. Between different linear‐polarized channels, the measured maximum crosstalk is −16.88 dB, and the isolation of each channel can be greater than 10 dB in a range wider than 0.1 THz. This study paves the way for multi‐dimensional multiplexing in the THz regime, which may benefit extremely high‐capacity and integrated THz communication systems. Although the safety and short-term outcomes of robotic surgery for sigmoid colon and rectal cancer patients are well-documented, there is limited research on the long-term survival outcomes of robotic colorectal surgery. This is a retrospective study that includes 502 patients who underwent either laparoscopic or robotic anterior resection and abdominoperineal resection for rectal or sigmoid colon cancer between August 2016 and September 2021. All patients were diagnosed with rectal or sigmoid colon adenocarcinoma. Propensity score matching (PSM) was implemented to minimize selection bias. Perioperative outcomes, complication rates, and pathological data were evaluated and compared. The 5-year overall survival rate and disease-free survival rate were calculated and compared. Before matching, patients in the robotic group had earlier pathological T and N stages and were more likely to have received neoadjuvant chemoradiotherapy compared to the laparoscopic group. After matching, most clinicopathological outcomes were similar between the two groups, but the robotic group had longer operative times and a lower conversion rate to open surgery compared with laparoscopic group. After matching for clinical factors, the 5-year DFS rates were 88.19% for the robotic group and 82.46% for the laparoscopic group (P = 0.122), and the OS rates were 90.5% and 79.5% (P = 0.342), showing no significant differences. In the stratified analysis, patients in the robotic surgery group had significantly higher 5-year DFS rates in the following subgroups: age < 65 years, TNM stage I-II, received neoadjuvant therapy, and primary tumor located in the rectum. The safety and efficacy of robotic surgery for sigmoid colon and rectal cancer were validated compared to laparoscopic surgery, with both groups of patients exhibiting comparable long-term prognoses. Background: Prostate cancer (PCa) is a leading cause of cancer-related death in men. Understanding the proteomic landscape associated with PCa risk can provide insights into its molecular mechanisms and pave the way for potential therapeutic interventions. Methods: A proteome-wide Mendelian randomization (MR) analysis was employed to determine associations between genetically predicted protein concentrations in plasma and PCa risk. From an initial list of 4,364 proteins, significant associations were identified and validated. Multiple sensitivity analyses were also conducted to enhance the robustness of our findings. Results: Of the 4,364 genetically predicted proteins, 308 exhibited preliminary associations with PCa risk. After rigorous statistical refinement, genetically predicted concentrations of 14 proteins showed positive associations with PCa risk, with odds ratios spanning from 1.55 (95% CI 1.28–1.87) for ATG4B to 2.67 (95% CI 1.94–3.67) for HCN1. In contrast, genetically predicted concentrations of ATG7, B2M, MSMB, and TMEM108 demonstrated inverse associations with PCa. The replication analysis further substantiated positive associations for MDH1 and LSM1, and a negative one for MSMB with PCa. A meta-analysis harmonizing primary and replication data mirrored these findings. Furthermore, the MVMR analysis pinpointed B2M and MSMB as having significant associations with PCa risk. Conclusion: The genetic evidence unveils a refined set of proteins associated with PCa risk. The findings underscore the potential of these proteins as molecular markers or therapeutic targets for PCa, calling for deeper mechanistic studies and exploration into their translational relevance. Sandalwood essential oil, known for its rich content of phenolic and flavonoid compounds, holds great promise for applications in perfumery and medicine. However, traditional production methods have raised concerns regarding their environmental impact and sustainability. This study explored subcritical ethanol extraction as a green technique to address these concerns. Under optimized conditions (6.04 MPa, 109 °C, and 2.01 mL/min), maximum oil yield reached 4.04% with substantial total phenolic compounds (TPCs) of 4.11 mg GAE/100 g and total flavonoid compounds (TFCs) of 8.85 mg QE/100 g in the extracted sandalwood oil. Furthermore, the oil displayed notable antioxidant activity AA of 71.68%. The temperature was identified as a significant factor affecting oil yield, TPCs, TFCs, and AA. The fine-tuning of the extraction temperature enhanced the desired characteristics, improving bioactive compound yields and heightening antioxidant potential. Introduction: DNA ploidy (P), stroma fraction (S), and nucleotyping (N) collectively known as PSN, have proven prognostic accuracy in stage II colorectal cancer (CRC). However, few studies have reported on the prognostic value of the PSN panel in stage III colon cancer patients receiving capecitabine and oxaliplatin adjuvant chemotherapy. Objectives: This study aimed to validate PSN's prognostic impact on stage III colon cancer, identifying candidates for optimized adjuvant chemotherapy duration. Design: A retrospective analysis was conducted on a cohort of stage III colon cancer patients from April 2008 to June 2020. Methods: Postoperative pathological samples from stage III colon cancer patients who underwent radical surgery and postoperative adjuvant chemotherapy at Sun Yat-sen University Cancer Center were retrospectively collected. Automated digital imaging assessed PSN, categorizing risk groups. Kaplan–Meier, Cox regression, and time-dependent receiver operating characteristic analysis compared model validity. Results: Significant differences in 5-year disease-free survival (DFS) and overall survival (OS) were noted among PSN-based low-, moderate-, and high-risk groups (DFS: 92.10% versus 83.62% versus 79.80%, p = 0.029; OS: 96.69% versus 93.99% versus 90.12%, p = 0.016). PSN emerged as an independent prognostic factor for DFS [hazard ratio (HR) = 1.409, 95% confidence interval (CI): 1.002–1.981, p = 0.049] and OS (HR = 1.720, 95% CI: 1.127–2.624, p = 0.012). The PSN model, incorporating perineural invasion and tumor location, displayed superior area under the curve for 5-year (0.692 versus 0.553, p = 0.020) and 10-year (0.694 versus 0.532, p = 0.006) DFS than TNM stage. In the PSN high-risk group, completing eight cycles of adjuvant chemotherapy significantly improved 5-year DFS and OS compared to four to seven cycles (DFS: 89.43% versus 71.52%, p = 0.026; OS: 96.77% versus 85.46%, p = 0.007). Purpose: Resilience is considered as a protective factor that can assist individuals to reduce post-traumatic stress reactions. In recent years, armies in many countries have widely implemented resilience training programs before deployment to prevent or reduce post-deployment combat stress reactions. Therefore, this study aims to review what is known about resilience interventions for military personnel in pre deployment. Methods: Based on Arskey and O'Malley's framework, a scoping review was completed. This review was performed through searching databases including PubMed, Embase, Web of Science, Medline and the Cochrane Library, and screening literature to extract data, finally summarizing the findings. Results: A total of 25 studies focusing on resilience interventions for military personnel in pre deployment were involved and analyzed using intervention approaches, outcome measures, intervention effects, and so on. Conclusion: Based on the existing evidence in this review, it is cautiously believed that the resilience intervention program for military personnel before deployment is effective. However, there is no single effective best method even the same type intervention can make different effects in different situations and populations. To eliminate blind spots in the field of vision and achieve a safe and collision‐free path, this paper proposes a path planning method based on multivehicle collaborative mapping in the context of vehicle networking. First, a multi vehicle map merging strategy based on the fireworks algorithm is proposed. In this strategy, a dissimilarity objective function based on the concept of grid map similarity is established and an improved fireworks algorithm is used to quickly search for the maximum overlap between local maps, achieving multivehicle collaborative mapping. Second, a real‐time path planning method based on artificial potential field theory is proposed. The information obtained from multivehicle collaborative mapping is first combined with the potential field model to form a multifield coupled road environment model. Then, the obstacle repulsion potential field model is improved to address the issues of traditional artificial potential field methods that target unreachability and poor dynamic response. The feasibility and effectiveness of the collaborative path planning method and single vehicle path planning method are tested through simulation analysis. This paper demonstrates through simulation analysis that the proposed path planning method can effectively achieve beyond line of sight perception and safely and comfortably guide vehicles to complete path planning. Terahertz (THz) waves have demonstrated immense potential for various applications in multiple fields. To enable the development of compact THz applications, it is crucial to integrate THz emission and wavefront manipulation into a single device. This study proposes and experiments with a nonlinear binary THz emitter that utilizes a patterned indium-tin-oxide (ITO) film. By precisely controlling the displacements and area sizes of the composed ITO patches, we are able to fully and independently manipulate the phase and amplitude of the locally emitted THz wave at the +1st-order diffraction, so as to the corresponding wavefront. The direct bandgap semiconductor serves as a fundamental terahertz (THz) source, generating terahertz waves through ultrafast femtosecond light excitation. While the direct bandgap semiconductor THz source does not rely on an external bias voltage, its limited radiation power poses a challenge to its implementation in compact THz systems. Here, nanometasurfaces etched on a semi‐insulating gallium arsenide (GaAs) substrate for enhanced THz emission are reported. The proposed semiconductor terahertz emitting nanometasurface (STEN) device based on GaAs direct bandgap semiconductor shows a 35‐fold increase in THz power and enables precise control of the emitted bandwidth. Giant emission is attributed to the enhanced absorption of pump light by the GaAs nano‐pillar array and the localized effect of the pump field. Experimental results confirm the effectiveness of the structures, demonstrating a negative correlation between the radiation power enhancement factor and pump power, indicating suitability for low‐power sources. Danmakus are user-generated comments that overlay on videos, enabling real-time interactions between viewers and video content. The emotional orientation of danmakus can reflect the attitudes and opinions of viewers on video segments, which can help video platforms optimize video content recommendation and evaluate users' abnormal emotion levels. Aiming at the problems of low transferability of traditional sentiment analysis methods in the danmaku domain, low accuracy of danmaku text segmentation, poor consistency of sentiment annotation, and insufficient semantic feature extraction, this paper proposes a video danmaku sentiment analysis method based on MIBE-RoBERTa-FF-BiLSTM. This paper constructs a "Bilibili Must-Watch List and Top Video Danmaku Sentiment Dataset" by ourselves, covering 10,000 positive and negative sentiment danmaku texts of 18 themes. A new word recognition algorithm based on mutual information (MI) and branch entropy (BE) is used to discover 2610 irregular network popular new words from trigrams to heptagrams in the dataset, forming a domain lexicon. The Maslow's hierarchy of needs theory is applied to guide the consistent sentiment annotation. The domain lexicon is integrated into the feature fusion layer of the RoBERTa-FF-BiLSTM model to fully learn the semantic features of word information, character information, and context information of danmaku texts and perform sentiment classification. Comparative experiments on the dataset show that the model proposed in this paper has the best comprehensive performance among the mainstream models for video danmaku text sentiment classification, with an F1 value of 94.06%, and its accuracy and robustness are also better than other models. The limitations of this paper are that the construction of the domain lexicon still requires manual participation and review, the semantic information of danmaku video content and the positive case preference are ignored. Objective: To determine the risk factors of delirium in elderly patients after hip fracture surgery. Methods: We searched electronic bibliographic databases for eligible original studies published until November 2022. After literature screening, data extraction and quality evaluation, meta-analysis was performed using Stata17.0 and RevMan5.4. Results: A total of 16 studies were included, The incidence of delirium in elderly patients with hip fracture was 23.0% [95%CI= (20%~26%)]. The main risk factors for perioperative delirium in elderly patients with hip fracture were advanced age [OR=1.24, 95%CI = (1.10-1.40), P< 0.001], pain [OR=2.01, 95% CI = (1.48-2.75), P<0.001], stroke history [OR=5.22, 95%CI = (2.75-9.92), P<0.001], complications ≥3 [OR = 2.25,95%CI = (1.33-3.81), P=0.002], preoperative cognitive dysfunction [OR=3.45, 95%CI = (2.51-4.75), P<0.001], hypoxemia [OR=3.91, 95%CI = (2.70-5.67), P<0.001], long preoperative wait time [OR=3.98, 95%CI = (1.16-13.98), P=0.030], general anesthesia [OR=2.55, 95%CI = (1.81-3.59), P<0.001], long operation time [OR=1.61, 95%CI = (1.22-2.11), P<0.001], preoperative low albumin [OR=6.42, 95% CI= (2.59-15.88), P<0.001], low BMl [OR= 3.06, 95% CI= (1.71-5.46), P<0.001]. Metasurfaces have been continuously garnering attention in both scientific and industrial fields owing to their unprecedented wavefront manipulation capabilities using arranged subwavelength artificial structures. Terahertz vortex beams have become a focus of research in recent years due to their prominent role in many cutting-edge applications. However, traditional terahertz vortex beam plates are often faced with challenges including large size, low efficiency, and limited working bandwidth. Here, we propose and experimentally demonstrate highly efficient and broadband vortex beam plates based on metasurface in the terahertz region. The experimental results well verify that the designed metasurfaces can efficiently generate terahertz vortex beams with different orbital angular momentum topological charges in the range of 0.5–1 THz. Notably, the maximum efficiency can reach about 65% at 0.5 THz. The proposed devices may play a vital role in developing vortex beams-related terahertz applications. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

To facilitate accurate prediction and empirical research on regional agricultural carbon emissions, this paper uses the LLE-PSO-XGBoost carbon emission model, which combines the Local Linear Embedding (LLE), Particle Swarm Algorithm (PSO) and Extreme Gradient Boosting Algorithm (XGBoost), to forecast regional agricultural carbon emissions in Anhui Province under different scenarios. The results show that the regional agricultural carbon emissions in Anhui Province generally show an upward and then downward trend during 2000–2021, and the regional agricultural carbon emissions in Anhui Province in 2030 are expected to fluctuate between 11,342,100 tones and 14,445,700 tones under five different set scenarios. The projections of regional agricultural carbon emissions can play an important role in supporting the development of local regional agriculture, helping to guide the input and policy guidance of local rural low-carbon agriculture and promoting the development of rural areas towards a resource-saving and environment-friendly society.
