In this study, tin sulphide (SnS2) and nickel–chromium hydrotalcite (NiCr-LDH) complexes (SnS2/NiCr-LDH) were used for the simultaneous removal of U(VI) and humic acid (HA) from U(VI)-containing wastewater. The results showed that the adsorption of HA by the SnS2/NiCr-LDH was greatly enhanced, which was 4.07 and 2.94 times higher than that of pure SnS2 and NiCr-LDH, respectively, and the highest U(VI) adsorption quantity over SnS2/NiCr-LDH increased from 127.81 to 446.68 mg g−1 when HA was present. Density functional theory (DFT) calculations revealed that the enhanced U(VI) adsorption on SnS2/NiCr-LDH was facilitated by the formation of a robust inner-sphere surface complex between U(VI) and HA. Inhomogeneous lithium (Li) deposition and unstable solid electrolyte interphase are the main causes of short cycle life and safety issues in Li metal batteries (LMBs). Developing a 3D structured matrix current collector and novel electrolyte are feasible strategies to tackle these issues. Ether-based electrolytes are widely used in LMBs. However, a fundamental understanding of Li-ion coordination and solvent remains incomplete. Here, lithiophilic Ag-Cu mesh is designed as the current collector to boost rapid Li-ion flux and Li metal nucleation. Meanwhile, dimethoxyethane (DME)/dioxolane (DOL) are used as complex solvents to enable lower interfacial resistance. The solvation structures at the interfaces of different collectors with different electrolytes are investigated. By applying in operando Raman spectroscopy, it is demonstrated that bis(trifluoromethylsulfonyl)imide TFSI - and DME molecules are highly coordinated with Li + compared with DOL molecules. Furthermore, lithiophilic 3D Ag-Cu mesh tunes Li + solvation/desolvation, resulting in a uniform deposition. The Ag-Cu mesh/Li symmetric cells demonstrate long-term cycling life up to 1200 h and Coulombic efficiency of 98.6% over 200 cycles at 1 mA cm -2 . The Ag-Cu mesh/Li||LiNi 0.8 Co 0.1 Mn 0.1 O 2 cells exhibit an initial discharge capacity of 208.7 mAh g -1 at 1.0 C with a capacity retention of 76.1% after 500 cycles., (© 2025 Wiley‐VCH GmbH.)

The oxidative dehydrogenation of propane with CO 2 (CO 2 -ODP) is a green industrial process for producing propene. Cerium oxide-supported platinum-based (Pt/CeO 2 ) catalysts exhibit remarkable reactivity toward propane and CO 2 due to the unique delicate balance of C-H and C[double bond, length as m-dash]O bond activation. However, the simultaneous activation and cleavage of C-H, C-C, and C-O bonds on Pt/CeO 2 -based catalysts may substantially impede the selective activation of C-H bonds during the CO 2 -ODP process. Here, we report that the scattered rare metal oxide (SRO x , SR = Ga, In) overlayer on Pt/CeO 2 exhibits extraordinary activity and selectivity for the CO 2 -ODP reaction. With the assistance of Pt, the SRO x -Pt/CeO 2 could achieve a propane conversion of 38.13% and a CO 2 conversion of 67.72%. More importantly, the selectivity of the product propene has increased from 33.28% to 88.24%, a level that is even comparable to the outstanding performance of currently reported PtSn/CeO 2 catalysts. A mechanistic study reveals that the strong affinity of the overlayer SRO x to the propane reduces the barrier of C-H bond activation and balances the C-H cleavage rates and the C-O bond groups, accounting for the excellent selective CO 2 -ODP performance of SRO x -Pt/CeO 2 catalysts. Mn 2+ ions doped CsPbCl 3 perovskite nanocrystals (NCs) exhibit superiority of spin-associated optical and electrical properties. However, precisely controlling the doping concentration, doping location, and the mono-distribution of Mn 2+ ions in the large-micro-size CsPbCl 3 perovskite host is a formidable challenge. Here, the micro size CsPbCl 3 perovskite crystals (MCs) are reported with uniform Mn 2+ ions doping by self-assembly of Mn 2+ ions doped CsPbCl 3 perovskite NCs. The electron-phonon coupling strength is enhanced in the perovskite self-assembled CsPbCl 3 MCs, which remarkably accelerates the PL decay of Mn 2+ ions in room temperature. Furthermore, the phonon-involved PL emission splits to two peaks at low temperature of 80 K, due to the phonon emission and absorption-induced energy exchange for exciton recombination in Mn 2+ ions. These findings not only demonstrate a novel material system but also introduce a new theoretical framework for phonon-modulated PL manipulation in Mn 2+ -doped perovskite materials., (© 2024 The Author(s).
