Advanced air mobility (AAM) is an emerging field that envisions highly automated, high-tempo, passenger-carrying aircraft operating in urban environments. Numerous stakeholders have emerged in this space, each proposing unique concepts of operation (CONOPS). While this technology will enable a revolutionary leap in modern transportation, many challenges remain unaddressed. Discrepancies exist between envisioned AAM operations, current technology, and outdated federal regulations. This has led to an unclear vision within the industry of the current maturity level of technology and the path of development needed to achieve proposed CONOPS. We seek to fill this gap by integrating multiple proposed conceptual systems into a single, unified path forward for the field. The literature on AAM covers a diverse array of interconnected themes, each containing a multitude of considerations that require extensive exploration and understanding. In the present work, a literature integration was conducted to collate the numerous proposed concepts and envisioned works that exist within the AAM literature. With this information, a comprehensive AAM taxonomy was created to represent this integration of concepts and rectify the inconsistencies within industry CONOPS. This taxonomy will assist future stakeholders in navigating this intricate field while contributing to the safe and efficient development and deployment of AAM.

Suborbital space tourism is a catalyst for space industry revenue that could reach $1.1 billion by 2032. This study evaluated the influence of the four dimensions of Iso-Ahola's (1982) theory of tourism motivation on willingness to fly as a point-to-point suborbital space tourist. 870 participants responded to an online survey. The survey results were analyzed using structural equation modeling. The tourism dimensions of interpersonal seeking and personal seeking had the greatest influence on willingness to fly. The model explains 40% of the variance in willingness to fly. The results provide validated data for targeted marketing to potential point-to-point space tourists. The results of this study are a catalyst for future space tourism research.

The rapid proliferation of unmanned aircraft systems (UAS), commonly known as drones, across various industries, government applications, and recreational use necessitates a deeper understanding of their utilization and market trends. This research leverages UAS detection technology—specifically DJI’s Aeroscope—to track serial numbers and predict product usage, market penetration, and population estimation. By analyzing three years of data from Aeroscope sensors deployed around a major airport in the Southern United States, this study provides valuable insights into UAS operational patterns and platform lifespans. The findings reveal trends in platform utilization, the impact of new product releases, and the decline in legacy platform use. This offers critical data for informed decision-making in market trends, product development, and resource allocation.
