Objective: In this study, we explored whether and how the indirect effects of father– and mother–adolescent conflict between PIU and academic engagement differ between female and male adolescents. Background: Problematic internet use (PIU) is an important health issue for adolescents. It has been found to be related to severe impairment in their interpersonal relationships (e.g., parent–child relationships) and academic outcomes (e.g., academic engagement), particularly during the COVID‐19 pandemic. Method: A national survey was conducted in diverse regions of the Chinese mainland, and a total of 2,688 adolescents between 10 and 19 years old (52.8% girls, Mage = 14.06 ± 2.47) participated in the study. Correlation and mediation analyses were conducted and were stratified by gender. Results: Multigroup analysis indicated that PIU was similarly and positively associated with father– and mother–adolescent conflict in adolescent boys and girls, whereas only father–adolescent conflict was negatively related to boys' academic engagement and only mother–adolescent conflict was negatively related to girls' academic engagement. Conclusion: These results support the same‐gender matching model in parent–adolescent conflict and expand the same‐gender effect to Chinese culture. Implications: These findings have important implications for understanding the mechanisms of how adolescent PIU impedes academic engagement through parent–adolescent conflict in father–son, father–daughter, mother–son, and mother–daughter dyads, indicating that family interventions focused on father–son and mother–daughter relationships may largely facilitate adolescents' academic engagement. The fatigue performance of steel–concrete composite beams is crucial for ensuring structural safety. To account for the member's multiaxial stress state, this study employed the critical surface method, using fatigue damage parameters as an evaluation index for assessing fatigue performance. Static and fatigue performance tests on steel–concrete beams were conducted to identify failure characteristics, which informed the development of a finite element model that incorporates concrete damage. Using the SWT model, the most unfavorable loading parameters were determined by analyzing critical paths on the test beams, providing a basis for predicting how initial defects impact fatigue performance. The impact of initial defects on the fatigue performance of the composite beam is assessed using this criterion. The results indicate that the discrepancy between the actual and predicted load capacities of the test beam is within 5%, and cyclic loading significantly affects the test beam's mechanical properties, resulting in a 27% reduction in load capacity and a 48% increase in deflection after 2 million cycles. Finite element modeling reveals that components experience multiaxial stress, with test beam mechanical property changes aligning with predicted fatigue damage parameters, confirming the reliability of using these parameters as a criterion. As the strength of the composite beams diminished due to pore defects, the fatigue damage parameter escalated, increasing the likelihood of crack formation. However, once the concrete's strength fell to a level where the pegs were insufficiently constrained, the structural damage pattern shifted, and the fatigue damage parameter subsequently decreased. ABSTRACT The relationship and related mediating mechanism between parental coparenting and adolescent academic engagement have yet to be elucidated during the pandemic. The present study is set to investigate the relationship between parental coparenting and adolescent academic engagement within Chinese families. Then it examines the mediating effects of parent–child communications in relationships. As a part of the national online survey in China, fathers, mothers and adolescents from 700 families across the country participated in the online survey. Both parents reported their coparenting support and conflict, while adolescents rated the level of open and problematic parent–child communication and their own academic engagement. Paternal coparenting conflict was related to adolescent academic engagement through both open and problematic communications. Paternal and maternal coparenting support was related to adolescent academic engagement through the mediating effect of open communication. Maternal coparenting conflict was related to adolescent academic engagement through problematic communication. Moreover, paternal coparenting support was positively directly related to adolescent academic engagement in the overall model. The research findings supported the effects of parental coparenting on adolescent academic engagement through the mediating effects of open and problematic parent–child communication. Microplastics (MPs) has been concerned as emerging vectors for spreading antibiotic resistance and pathogenicity in aquatic environments, but the role of biodegradable MPs remains largely unknown. Herein, field in-situ incubation method combined with metagenomic sequencing were employed to reveal the dispersal characteristics of microbial community, antibiotic resistance genes (ARGs), mobile genetic elements (MGEs), and virulence factors (VFs) enriched by MPs biofilms. Results showed that planktonic microbes were more prone to enrich on biodegradable MPs (i.e., polyhydroxyalkanoate and polylactic acid) than non-biodegradable MPs (i.e., polystyrene, polypropylene and polyethylene). Distinctive microbial communities were assembled on biodegradable MPs, and the abundances of ARGs, MGEs, and VFs on biofilms of biodegradable MPs were much higher than that of non-biodegradable MPs. Notably, network analysis showed that the biodegradable MPs selectively enriched pathogens carrying ARGs, VFs and MGEs concurrently, suggesting a strong potential risks of co-spreading antibiotic resistance and pathogenicity through horizontal gene transfer. According to WHO priority list of Antibiotic Resistant Pathogens (ARPs) and ARGs health risk assessment framework, the highest abundances of Priority 1 ARPs and Rank I risk ARGs were found on polylactic acid and polyhydroxyalkanoate, respectively. The objective of this study was to explore changes in miRNA133 levels as a basis for clinical diagnostic markers in patients with acute myocardial infarction (AMI). A total of 100 chest pain patient cases admitted to a hospital from June 2021 to December 2022 were used. The study involved the selection of 50 patients: 25 patients with unstable undetermined heart pain and 25 healthy subjects were included in the control group of 50 patients with non-AMI patients. Meanwhile, 50 patients with AMI were designated as the experimental group. Changes in miRNA133 levels in patients' plasma were analyzed for expression using quantitative fluorescence analysis. When the serum TPI, plasma NT-ProBNP, glycosylated hemoglobin, and plasma D-dimer index values were compared between the control and experimental groups, there was a statistically significant difference (P < .05). mi-RNA-133 had a mean plasma level value of 2.60 ± 1.01, the mean level value of mi-RNA-133 in patients with non-AMI was 1.34 ± 1.18, and the patients in the AMI group showed significantly high values of the mean plasma level of mi-RNA-133. The relative expression level value of cTnl in patients with AMI was 10.84 ± 12.64. Of the specificity and sensitivity diagnostics, mi-RNA-133 had the best diagnostic effect. The area under mi-RNA-133 in the regression curve was 95.4%, the specificity of the whole combination of indicators was 89.4% and the sensitivity was 100%. Finally, the correlation between mi-RNA-133 and white blood cell count (WBC) and TG was statistically significant (P < .05). In conclusion, changes in the level of mi-RNA-133 may be an important marker for diagnosing the status of patients with AMI, while a faster and more accurate method will emerge along with the improvement of the detection technology, and at the same time, due to the variability of the study cases and other limitations, further research will be carried out subsequently., Competing Interests: The authors have no conflicts of interest to disclose., (Copyright © 2024 the Author(s). MRI image segmentation is widely used in clinical practice as a prerequisite and a key for diagnosing brain tumors. The quest for an accurate automated segmentation method for brain tumor images, aiming to ease clinical doctors' workload, has gained significant attention as a research focal point. Despite the success of fully supervised methods in brain tumor segmentation, challenges remain. Due to the high cost involved in annotating medical images, the dataset available for training fully supervised methods is very limited. Additionally, medical images are prone to noise and motion artifacts, negatively impacting quality. In this work, we propose MAPSS, a motion-artifact-augmented pseudo-label network for semi-supervised segmentation. Our method combines motion artifact data augmentation with the pseudo-label semi-supervised training framework. We conduct several experiments under different semi-supervised settings on a publicly available dataset BraTS2020 for brain tumor segmentation. The experimental results show that MAPSS achieves accurate brain tumor segmentation with only a small amount of labeled data and maintains robustness in motion-artifact-influenced images. We also assess the generalization performance of MAPSS using the Left Atrium dataset.
