Abstract

The intrusion detection process is important in various applications to identify unauthorized Internet of Things (IoT) network access. IoT devices are accessed by intermediators while transmitting the information, which causes security issues. Several intrusion detection systems are developed to identify intruders and unauthorized access in different software applications. Existing systems consume high computation time, making it difficult to identify intruders accurately. This research issue is mitigated by applying the Interrupt-aware Anonymous User-System Detection Method (IAU-S-DM). The method uses concealed service sessions to identify the anonymous interrupts. During this process, the system is trained with the help of different parameters such as origin, session access demands, and legitimate and illegitimate users of various sessions. These parameters help to recognize the intruder's activities with minimum computation time. In addition, the collected data is processed using the deep recurrent learning approach that identifies service failures and breaches, improving the overall intruder detection rate. The created system uses the TON-IoT dataset information that helps to identify the intruder activities while accessing the different data resources. This method's consistency is verified using the metrics of service failures of 10.65%, detection precision of 14.63%, detection time of 15.54%, and classification ratio of 20.51%. Abstract

Social media (SM) based surveillance systems, combined with machine learning (ML) and deep learning (DL) techniques, have shown potential for early detection of epidemic outbreaks. This review discusses the current state of SM-based surveillance methods for early epidemic outbreaks and the role of ML and DL in enhancing their performance. Since, every year, a large amount of data related to epidemic outbreaks, particularly Twitter data is generated by SM. This paper outlines the theme of SM analysis for tracking health-related issues and detecting epidemic outbreaks in SM, along with the ML and DL techniques that have been configured for the detection of epidemic outbreaks. DL has emerged as a promising ML technique that adapts multiple layers of representations or features of the data and yields state-of-the-art extrapolation results. In recent years, along with the success of ML and DL in many other application domains, both ML and DL are also popularly used in SM analysis. This paper aims to provide an overview of epidemic outbreaks in SM and then outlines a comprehensive analysis of ML and DL approaches and their existing applications in SM analysis. Finally, this review serves the purpose of offering suggestions, ideas, and proposals, along with highlighting the ongoing challenges in the field of early outbreak detection that still need to be addressed. Abstract

In the current era, a new class of lightweight, silent, and all-electric aircraft that can take off and land vertically is about to transform mobility in major urban centers. Safer and quieter than helicopters, and operating in some cases without a pilot, they can supplement land mobility. Indeed, urban air mobility (UAM) has recently been a hot topic for debate and scientific research. However, it requires new types of service and technology and a novel business model. For a successful implementation, this paper provides the most insightful knowledge and actors, focusing on demand assessment through current research advancements in the area of urban air mobility. For that purpose, bibliometric analysis has been conducted, using a four-step methodology based on the search of the most frequently used keywords. The research work investigated the needs of the main stakeholders and illustrated how UAM can mitigate the pressure put on decision-makers regarding the mobility demand. The results show recent trends in scientific publications and citations, most cited articles, countries, and organizations that are more involved in this research subject, keyword co-co-occurrence analysis to identify and analyze current research areas and their associated barriers and challenges, using the VOSviewer software and WoS analytic feature. Abstract

Urban air mobility, also known as UAM, is currently being researched in a variety of metropolitan regions throughout the world as a potential new mode of transport for travelling shorter distances inside a territory. In this article, we investigate whether or not the market can back the necessary financial commitments to deploy UAM. A challenge in defining and addressing a critical phase of such guidance is called a demand forecast problem. To achieve this goal, a deep learning model for forecasting temporal data is proposed. This model is used to find and study the scientific issues involved. A benchmark dataset of 150,000 records was used for this purpose. Our experiments used different state-of-the-art DL models: LSTM, GRU, and Transformer for UAM demand prediction. The transformer showed a high performance with an RMSE of 0.64, allowing decision-makers to analyze the feasibility and viability of their investments. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

20. Harnessing the power of hugging face's multilingual transformers: unravelling the code-mixed named entity recognition enigma

Abstract

Named entity recognition (NER) in code-mixed documents, which have different languages, is hard for natural language processing. In this paper, we use hugging face's multilingual transformers to come up with a way to do code-mixed NER without any problems. Our work tries to solve the problems that come up when you try to recognise named entities in more than one language within the same text. We did thorough tests by fine-tuning the multilingual transformer model on a dataset with mixed codes. With an F1-score of 0.85, we got great results. This works better than previous methods and proves that our model can accurately find named items. We also examine at how well the model works with other language pairs and code-mixed patterns. This shows how well the model can handle different language situations. Our study helps us understand how to handle data in multiple languages, makes code-mixed NER techniques better, and shows how multilingual transformers can help break down language barriers. The research has implications for areas that need to understand more than one language, such as analysing social media, creating language-specific customer service systems, and finding information across languages. Speaking different languages can communicate more easily and effectively in these fields, which encourage inclusion.
