Evidence has argued about the association between dairy intake and premature coronary artery disease (PCAD) development aimed to be discussed in this study. This case-control study was conducted on 813 individuals with PCAD and 471 healthy controls. The dairy intake of participants was assessed by a validated semi-quantitative food frequency questionnaire. Binary and ordinal logistic regression was applied to determine the association of dairy intake with PCAD and its severity, respectively. Compared to the first quartile, the highest quartile of total dairy consumption was associated with an increased risk of PCAD [Odds ratio (OR):1.56; 95% confidence interval (95%CI): 1.13, 2.14; P = 0.008] in the crude model. It was strengthened after full adjustment [OR: 2.44, 95% CI; 1.50,3.97; P < 0.001]. Both low-fat and high-fat dairy intake revealed no association with the risk of PCAD in the crude model. However, in the fully adjusted model, respectively highest quartile of high-fat and low-fat dairy intake had a relationship with a higher risk of SCAD. After adjustment for potential confounders, the highest amount of intake of high-fat dairy was related to increased severity of PCAD (OR:1.84; 95%CI: 1.27,2.68), but not for total and low-fat dairy intake (OR:0.98; 95%CI: 0.67,1.44 and OR: 0.74; 0.51,1.07; respectively). Dairy consumption regardless of its fat content was associated with increased risk for PCAD. Severe left main coronary artery (LMCA) lesions (≥50% stenosis) portend a poor prognosis and require urgent revascularization. In this study, we identified the incidence and clinical predictors of severe LMCA stenosis in patients with chronic coronary syndrome (CCS) who had undergone coronary angiography for the first time. Using a nationwide database registry, all the patients with CCS who had undergone coronary angiography were included. Patients were classified based on having severe LMCA stenosis and they were compared based on the recommended therapeutic strategy after angiography. A multivariable binary logistic regression model was developed to identify the potential predictors of a severe LMCA lesion. Among 40,161 patients with CCS, a severe LMCA lesion was detected in a total of 1556 participants (3.87% [3.69; 6.07]). The multivariable logistic regression identified age (odds ratio [OR]: 1.04 [1.03;1.04]), male gender (OR:2.56 [2.28; 2.89]), dyslipidemia (OR:1.19 [1.06; 1.34]), and peripheral arterial disease (PAD) (OR:3.68 [1.06;12.83]) as predictors of a severe LMCA stenosis. Approximately 4% of patients with newly diagnosed CCS may suffer from severe LMCA disease. Age, male gender, dyslipidemia, and PAD are among the predicting factors of a severe LMCA stenosis and can be utilized in risk stratification of patients with CCS at greater risk of severe LMCA stenosis. People with COVID-19 infection continue to have their symptoms or develop new ones after recovery. This is called long-COVID syndrome. We aimed to examine the association of general and abdominal obesity with long COVID. This study was conducted using Isfahan COVID Cohort (ICC). Totally 4008 including 3213 hospitalized and 795 non-hospitalized patients with positive RT-PCR were included. Body mass index (BMI) and waist circumference (WC) were calculated. BMI >25 kg/m 2 and WC >88 cm in women and 102 cm in men were considered generally and abdominally obese, respectively. By using an open-ended questionnaire, subjects were asked whether they had any new or persistent symptom. Reported symptoms were categorized in three different fields including general, cardiac, and respiratory symptoms. Higher BMI and WC tended to increase general symptoms (odds ratio [OR] for BMI = 1.16, 95 % confidence interval (95% CI): 0.97, 1.38, and OR for WC = 1.14, 95% CI: 0.99, 1.32). Higher BMI significantly increased cardiovascular (OR = 1.38, 95% CI: 1.14, 1.67) and respiratory symptoms (OR = 1.43, 95% CI: 1.15, 1.78). Compared with patients with normal WC, the risk of cardiovascular (OR = 1.44, 95% CI: 1.24, 1.69) and respiratory symptoms was significantly higher in subjects with abdominal obesity (OR = 1.31, 95% CI: 1.10, 1.56). We found that general and abdominal obesity were associated with increased risk of cardiovascular and respiratory symptoms in patients with long-COVID symptoms.
