Abstract Background Adaptive immunity is an important disease mediator of pulmonary vascular remodeling during pulmonary hypertension (PH) development, especially T‐cells lymphocytes. However, data for bibliometric analysis of T cell immunity in PH is currently vacant. This aimed to provide a comprehensive and visualized view of T‐cells research in PH pathogenesis and to lay a solid foundation for further studies. Methods The data was acquired from the Web of Science Core Collection database. Web of Science analytic tool was used to analysis the publication years, authors, journals, countries, and organizations. CiteSpace 6.2.R3, VOSviewer 1.6.16, and Scimago Graphica 1.0.35.0 were applied to conduct a visualization bibliometric analysis about authors, countries, institutions, journals, references, and keywords. Results Nine hundred and eight publications from 1992 to 2022 were included in the analysis. The results showed that Humbert Marc was the most prolific author. American Journal of Physiology Lung Cellular and Molecular Physiology had the most related articles. The institution with the most articles was Udice French Research University. The United States was far ahead in the article output. Keywords analysis showed that “Pulmonary hypertension” was the most usually appeared keyword in the relevant literature, and included “T‐cells”, “Regulatory T cells”, and “Activated T cell.” “miRNA” of reference co‐citation clustering analysis demonstrated the possible T‐cell immunity activation mechanisms in PH. The most cited literature was published in the European Heart Journal by Galie N in 2016. The strongest citation burst of keyword is “gene expression” and terms such as “vascular remodeling,” “growth,” “proliferation,” and “fibrosis” are among the list, indicating that T‐cells interact with stromal vascular cells to induce pulmonary vascular remodeling. The strongest burst of cited reference is “Galie N, 2016.” Conclusions T‐cell immunity is an important pathogenesis mechanism for PH development, which may have interaction with miRNAs and stromal vascular cells, but the possible T‐cell immunity activation mechanisms in PH need to be investigated further.

Background & aimsAccumulating studies have demonstrated associations between single lifestyle exposures and metabolic dysfunction-associated fatty liver disease (MAFLD). However, the joint effects of lifestyle exposures remain unclear, hindering the development of targeted prevention and control strategies. We aimed to investigate the joint associations between lifestyle exposomes and MAFLD.MethodsThis study included 5,002 participants from NHANES 2017–2020. Lifestyle exposomes, including sleep duration, metabolic equivalent of task (MET), Healthy Eating Index (HEI)-2015 score, alcohol consumption, and smoke exposure, were identified from questionnaire data. MAFLD was diagnosed by vibration-controlled transient elastography measurements and laboratory data. A logistic regression model and the weighted quantile sum method were used to evaluate the associations of single and joint lifestyle exposomes, respectively, with MAFLD. The population attributable fractions (PAFs) were calculated to assess the population benefits of different intervention strategies.ResultsPer-quartile range increases in sleep duration (OR=0.883, 95% CI: 0.826–0.944), MET (0.916, 0.871–0.963), and HEI-2015 score (0.827, 0.756–0.904) were significantly associated with MAFLD. The joint exposure of sleep duration, MET, and HEI-2015 score was associated with MAFLD (0.772, 0.688–0.865), with the highest weight (importance) for MET (0.526). PAFs revealed greater intervention benefits for sleep and the HEI-2015 when the majority of the population (>5%) had a low MAFLD risk (weak intervention targets), whereas MET was the most efficient intervention strategy when minority populations (≤5%) had a low MAFLD risk (strong intervention targets).ConclusionThis study demonstrated significant associations between MAFLD and single and joint exposures to sleep duration, MET, and HEI-2015 and identified physical activity as the most important lifestyle factor. Further population benefit analyses may provide evidence and suggestions for population-level interventions.

Benign metastasizing leiomyoma (BML) is a rare disease that results from metastasis of uterine leiomyoma to distant sites with benign pathologic features. The lung is the most common metastatic site for BML. This report describes the case of a 49-year-old woman who presented with a mass in the abdominal wall with a surgical history of uterine myomectomy. Ultrasound and Magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) revealed multiple mass lesions. The histopathology of the mass specimen indicated BML. The imaging and clinical features of BML are discussed based on the characteristics of this case and related literature reports.

Background The Masimo Total Hemoglobin SpHb® is a continuous and non-invasive handheld device to measure hemoglobin levels. Previous research has found that SpHb is able to accurately detect hemoglobin levels in adult patients with a similar degree of bias and standard deviation to point-of-care invasive method measurements. Generally, limited clinical evidence, lack of validation of Masimo at higher than and lower than hemoglobin threshold values, and scientific consensus supporting the use of Masimo for accurate hemoglobin testing for the diagnosis of anemia during pregnancy calls for further research. Abstract Objective The study aimed to conduct a bibliometric analysis of mucosal immunity in IgA nephropathy (IgAN) and indicate its current status, hot sopts, and direction of future studies. Methods The literature data was collected from the Web of Science Core Collection. CiteSpace 6.1.R3 was employed to conduct a visualization bibliometric analysis of mucosal immunity in IgA nephropathy, including authors, countries, journals, keywords, organizations, references, the bursts of keywords and references, and the timeline of keyword clusters and reference clusters. Results A total of 315 publications from 1990 to 2022 were included. The number of articles in this field has increased in recent years. Suzuki H, Coppo R, and Feehally J took the first place parallelly with 18 articles. Japan contributes the most articles, accounting for 27.3% of all the publications. The institutions with the most publications were Juntendo University and University of Alabama Birmingham. 453 keywords were concluded in the analysis, which mainly focus on the mucosal pathogenesis and therapy of the IgAN. The top five co‐cited reference cluster are “aberrantly glycosylated IgA,” “corticosteroids,” “animal models,” “o‐glycosylationm” and “microRNA‐630.” The most recently burst of keyword is “tonsillectomy” and “gut.” Conclusion This was the first bibliometric analysis to systematically analyze the mucosal immunity in IgAN, which obtained the current status and indicated the future research hotspots and development trends. The gut microbiota and the related therapy‐targeted mucosal immunity might be the future research hotspot.

Background: Particulate matter (PM) exposure has been linked with cardiovascular disease (CVD) and metabolic syndrome (MetS), the latter characterized by concurrent multiple metabolic disorders. As a result, the mechanisms assumption from PM to CVD through MetS have emerged, thus requiring further epidemiological evidence. This cohort study aimed to assess whether MetS mediates the associations of PM with CVD risk. Methods: This study included 14,195 participants from the Chengdu cohort of the China Multi-Ethnic Cohort (CMEC) study in 2018. The primary outcome of incident CVD diagnoses was identified using matched hospital records from the Health Information Center of Sichuan Province. Residence-specific levels of PM with aerodynamic diameters of ≤ 1 µm (PM1), ≤ 2.5 µm (PM2.5), and ≤ 10 µm (PM10) were estimated by spatiotemporal models. Causal mediation analyses were applied to evaluate the indirect effect of MetS. Results: Increased exposure levels to PM were significantly associated with MetS and CVD. Mediation analyses indicated that the associations between PM exposure and CVD were mediated by MetS, with the proportion of multiple mediations being 19.3%, 12.1%, and 13.5% for PM1, PM2.5, and PM10, respectively. Further moderated mediation analyses suggested that male, overweight individuals, alcohol drinkers, and those suffering from indoor air pollution may experience more significant adverse effects from PM exposure on CVD via MetS than others. Conclusions: Our findings suggest that MetS partially mediates the association between long-term exposure to PM and CVD. These mediation effects appear to be amplified by demographic characteristics and unhealthy lifestyles.

Introduction: Human cytomegalovirus (HCMV) is the most common viral infection seen in newborns. The major route of transmission for acquired human cytomegalovirus infection is breast milk from mothers who are HCMV seropositive to the infants. Thus, a rapid, economical, and simple method to perform HCMV test in breast milk is crucial and necessary for preventing acquired HCMV infection, especially in underdeveloped regions with limited laboratory resources. Methods: In this study, an effective technique for the detection of HCMV was constructed by combining multienzyme isothermal rapid amplification (MIRA) and lateral flow chromatography strip (LFD). Primers for the conserved HCMV sequence UL83 were utilized for MIRA-LFD testing. Results: Our results showed that the entire MIRA reaction could be completed in 12 minutes at 37°C, and LFD outcomes could be observed visibly after 10 minutes. The detection sensitivity of this method reached 50 copy/ml. Samples of breast milk were examined to compare MIRA-LFD and conventional qPCR. The accuracy of MIRA-LFD was 100%. Discussion: The straightforward, rapid, economic features of the test can provide the significant advantages for the prevention of breast milk-acquired cytomegalovirus infection, particularly in resource-limited locations with high seroprevalence of cytomegalovirus. Objective: The aim of this report was to comprehensively investigate the clinicopathological features, histological characteristics, and differential diagnosis of tall cell carcinoma with reversed polarity of the breast (TCCRP) to enhance the understanding of this tumour for precise therapeutic interventions. Methods: The clinicopathological characteristics and differential diagnosis of a patient with TCCRP were retrospectively analysed, and a systematic literature review was extracted from relevant published studies on PubMed. Results: All patients included in the study were female, with a median age of 51 years. Microscopically, the tumour cells exhibited a solid papillary growth pattern with t a l l columnar morphology and reversed nuclear polarity. Immunohistochemistry revealed that the tumours were triple-negative breast cancer (negative for ER, PR, and HER-2), with a low Ki-67 proliferation index. Different degrees of expression were observed for CK7, Calretinin, and S-100 markers; however, CK5/6 showed high expression levels. Conclusions: TCCRP is an uncommon invasive carcinoma subtype found in the breast. Its histological morphology resembles that of tall cell subtype papillary thyroid carcinoma. Accurate diagnosis requires the integration of histomorphological assessment along with immunohistochemistry and molecular genetics analysis. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

Abstract Postpancreatectomy hemorrhage (PPH) is an important risk factor for postoperative complications after laparoscopic pancreaticoduodenectomy (LPD). Recent studies have reported that the use of ligamentum teres hepatis (LTH) in LPD may reduce the risk of PPH. Therefore, this study aims to investigate whether wrapping the hepatic hilar artery with the LTH can reduce PPH after LPD. We reviewed the data of 131 patients who underwent LPD in our team from April 2018 to December 2023. The patients were divided into Groups A (60 patients) and B (71 patients) according to whether the hepatic portal artery was wrapped or not. The perioperative data of the two groups were compared to evaluate the effect of LTH wrapping the hepatic hilar artery on LPD. Background: Vascular invasion (VI) indicates highly invasive tumor biological behavior and is a major determining factor of poor survival and high risk of metastasis in hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC). Epidemiological evidence of the association between pretherapeutic platelet count (PLT) and the risk of VI and extrahepatic metastasis in HCC remains controversial. Methods: A systematic retrieval was executed in databases of PubMed, Embase, and Web of Science until Dec 2022. Effect size and 95% confidence interval (CI) were extracted or estimated to synthetically investigate the effects of pretherapeutic PLT on VI and extrahepatic metastasis. Meta-analyses were performed by using a random or a fixed effects model. Results: Finally, the current meta-analysis included 15 studies with a total of 12,378 HCC patients. It was shown that, patients with a higher pretherapeutic level of PLT had a significantly increased risk of VI (11 studies,8,759 patients; OR = 1.44, 95%CI: 1.02–2.02) and extrahepatic metastasis (6 studies,8, 951 patients; OR = 2.51, 95% CI: 2.19–2.88) in comparison with patients with a lower PLT. Funnel plots and Begg's tests indicated that there were no significant publication biases. Conclusion: This meta-analysis shows that pretherapeutic elevated PLT is associated with an increased risk of VI and extrahepatic metastasis in HCC.

In order to investigate the potential mechanisms of probiotic-fermented coconut water in treating enteritis, this study conducted a comprehensive analysis of the effects of probiotic intervention on the recovery from Dextran Sodium Sulfate-induced acute enteritis in Wenchang chicks. The analysis encompassed the assessment of growth performance, serum indicators, intestinal tissue structure, and metagenomic and metabolomic profiles of cecal contents in 60 Wenchang chicks subjected to intervention. This approach aimed to elucidate the impact of probiotic intervention on the recovery process from acute enteritis at both the genetic and metabolic levels in the avian model. The results revealed that intervention with Saccharomyces cerevisiae Y301 improved the growth rate of chicks. and intervention with Lactiplantibacillus plantarum MS2c regulated the glycerophospholipid metabolism pathway and reshaped the gut microbiota structure in modeling chicks with acute enteritis, reducing the abundance of potentially pathogenic bacteria from the Alistipes and increasing the abundance of potentially beneficial species from the Christensenellaceae. This intervention resulted in the production of specific gut metabolites, including Gentamicin C and polymyxin B2, recognized for their therapeutic effects on acute enteritis. The combined intervention of S. cerevisiae Y301 and L. plantarum MS2c not only enhanced growth performance but also mitigated intestinal wall damage and increased the abundance of gut metabolites such as gentamicin C and polymyxin B2, thereby mitigating symptoms of enteritis. Furthermore, this combined intervention reduced the levels of serum immune markers, including IL-10, IL-6, TNF-α, IFN-γ, and D-lactic acid, thus mitigating intestinal epithelial cell damage and promoting acute enteritis recovery. This study provides crucial insights into the mechanisms of action of probiotics and probiotic-fermented coconut water in acute enteritis recovery, offering new perspectives for sustainable farming practices for Wenchang chicken.

Background and Objectives: To systematically investigate the association between the dietary inflammatory index (DII) and gestational diabetes mellitus (GDM), with a focus on the role of BMI in this relationship. Methods and Study Design: A comprehensive search was conducted in PubMed, Embase, Web of Science, The Cochrane Library, Medline, CINAHL Complete, Chinese Periodical Full-text Database, China National Knowledge Infrastructure, Chinese Biomedical Literature Database, and China Wanfang Database for relevant observational studies published up to August 2023. The quality of the included studies was assessed using the Newcastle-Ottawa Scale. The pooled effect size was calculated using a random-effects model. Subgroup and meta-regression analyses were performed to explore potential sources of heterogeneity. Results: The study included 54,058 participants from 10 studies. Pregnant women with a higher DII, indicating a pro-inflammatory diet, had a significantly increased risk of GDM compared to those with a lower DII, indicating an anti-inflammatory diet (pooled OR: 1.17, 95% CI: 1.01-1.36; I²=70%, p <0.001). Subgroup analyses revealed a stronger association in normal weight stratification (OR: 1.25, 95%CI: 1.04-1.51), case-control studies (OR: 1.45, 95%CI: 1.03-2.05), Asia (OR: 1.26, 95%CI: 1.10-1.43), Europe (OR: 1.27, 95%CI: 1.09-1.48), 3-day dietary record as a dietary assessment tool (OR: 1.30, 95%CI: 1.16-1.46), physical activity adjustment (OR: 1.28, 95%CI: 1.13-1.46), and energy intake adjustment (OR: 1.33, 95%CI: 1.19-1.48). Meta-regression analysis confirmed that geographical region significantly influenced heterogeneity between studies (p <0.05).
