The emerging concept of aerogel composite phase change materials (PCMs) represents a promising approach for thermal energy storage and utilization. However, the thermal storage aerogels currently reported usually lack essential aerogel properties, thereby constraining their potential for functional design and advanced applications. Herein, multifunctional thermal storage aerogels with aerogel characteristics and thermoregulation performance are prepared by chemically crosslinking and unidirectional freezing to make functionalized mineral‐based composite PCMs as cavity walls. Thanks to the cross–linked continuous skeleton and retained hierarchical porous, this novel thermal storage aerogel possesses an 89.7% porosity and demonstrates excellent resilience under 80% compression. As the PCMs in the cavity walls can convert phonon transport modes through phase transitions, the thermal storage aerogel has enhanced thermal insulation properties, reaching a thermal conductivity of 29.6 mW m−1 K−1. Drawing upon the multifunctional properties of thermal storage aerogels, it is demonstrated that thermal storage masks with thermal comfort and health protection, as well as passive thermal management wrist guards capable of harnessing solar radiation for temperature regulation. This work encompasses the exploration of novel approaches in developing advanced thermal management materials to cater to the diverse thermal regulation requirements of PCMs across various domains. Identifying efficient electrocatalysts for the oxygen evolution reaction (OER) is vital for sustainable energy. This study focuses on efficient spinel OER electrocatalysts. We utilize a covalent competition-based interpretable machine learning process, combining DFT and ML, to evaluate 5329 spinel structures for identifying promising OER electrocatalysts. The key indicator in these structures is the covalent competition MAX(DT, DO) between cations and oxygen anions. Center-Environment (CE) features exhibit optimal predictive accuracy for MAX(DT, DO), compared with other feature models e.g., Magpie, ElemNet, and Voronoi. 14 structures with promising OER activity were predicted from 5329 spinel structures using a multi-level screening framework, and interpretability has been provided through SHAP analysis. MoAg2O4, synthesized experimentally, exhibited superior OER activity to MoNa2O4, ZnAl2O4, and commercial RuO2, achieving a current density of 10 mA cm−2 at 284 mV overpotential with long-term stability. The exceptional electrocatalytic performance of MoAg2O4 is attributed to highly efficient electron transfer coupled with optimized adsorption for OER intermediates. The synergistic effect of these two attributes improves the reaction kinetics and reduces the free energy of the rate-limiting step in the OER process. Mass failures are often induced or activated by the variation of hydrological factors within a reservoir area. Clarifying the relationships between the failure volume and different hydrological factors may help to identify both the dominant factors influencing reservoir bank failures and the most hazardous combinations of factors inducing such events. This study examines the influence of different hydrological factors on bank failures using model experiments incorporating variations in rainfall, wave and water level. The results indicate that the coupled effects of heavy rainfall and falling water‐level had the most significant impact on bank failure. The cumulative failure mass of the reservoir bank peaked at 177.2 × 103 cm3 under the coupled effects of rainfall and falling water‐level. In comparison, the cumulative mass failures on the reservoir bank under rainfall superimposed onto waves and rainfall superimposed onto water level rise were 162.4 × 103 and 129.2 × 103 cm3, respectively. The impact of heavy rainfall significantly contributed the mass failures on soil reservoir bank. The analysis reveals that the highest cumulative failure, 106.3 × 103 cm3, occurred during periods of heavy rainfall. Compared with heavy rainfall, the cumulative failure volumes in the reservoir experienced a reduction of 46% and 55% under solely declining and solely rising reservoir water levels, respectively. The early phases of changing hydrological conditions have a significant effect on the stability of the soil reservoir bank. Mass failures on the bank predominantly occurred during the initial three events of the five simulation experiments performed for each landform, which could account for up to 87% of the total volume. Hence, it is advisable to avoid lowering reservoir water levels during periods of sustained heavy rainfall in order to mitigate the risk of bank failure. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

Background: The roles of Caveolin-1 (Cav-1) and the Wnt/β-catenin signaling pathways in cerebral ischemia–reperfusion (I/R) injury are well established. The translocation of β-catenin into the nucleus is critical for regulating neuronal apoptosis, repair, and neurogenesis within the ischemic brain. It has been reported that the scaffold domain of Caveolin-1 (Cav-1) (residues 95–98) interacts with β-catenin (residues 330–337). However, the specific contribution of the Cav-1/β-catenin complex to I/R injury remains unknown. Methods and results: To investigate the mechanism underlying the involvement of the Cav-1/β-catenin complex in the subcellular translocation of β-catenin and its subsequent effects on cerebral I/R injury, we treated ischemic brains with ASON (Cav-1 antisense oligodeoxynucleotides) or FTVT (a competitive peptide antagonist of the Cav-1 and β-catenin interaction). Our study demonstrated that the binding of Cav-1 to β-catenin following I/R injury prevented the nuclear accumulation of β-catenin. Treatment with ASON or FTVT after I/R injury significantly increased the levels of nuclear β-catenin. Furthermore, ASON reduced the phosphorylation of β-catenin at Ser33, Ser37, and Thr41, which contributes to its proteasomal degradation, while FTVT increased phosphorylation at Tyr333, which is associated with its nuclear translocation. Conclusions: The above results indicate that the formation of the Cav-1/β-catenin complex anchors β-catenin in the cytoplasm following I/R injury. Additionally, both ASON and FTVT treatments attenuated neuronal death in ischemic brains. Snow cover products are primarily derived from the Moderate-resolution Imaging Spectrometer (MODIS) and Advanced Very-High-Resolution Radiometer (AVHRR) datasets. MODIS achieves both snow/non-snow discrimination and snow cover fractional retrieval, while early AVHRR-based snow cover products only focused on snow/non-snow discrimination. The AVHRR Climate Data Record (AVHRR-CDR) provides a nearly 40-year global dataset that has the potential to fill the gap in long-term snow cover fractional monitoring. Our study selects the Qinghai–Tibet Plateau as the experimental area, utilizing AVHRR-CDR surface reflectance data (AVH09C1) and calibrating with the MODIS snow product MOD10A1. The snow cover percentage retrieval from the AVHRR dataset is performed using Surface Reflectance at 0.64 μm (SR1) and Surface Reflectance at 0.86 μm (SR2), along with a simulated Normalized Difference Snow Index (NDSI) model. Also, in order to detect the effects of land-cover type and topography on snow inversion, we tested the accuracy of the algorithm with and without these influences, respectively (vanilla algorithm and improved algorithm). The accuracy of the AVHRR snow cover percentage data product is evaluated using MOD10A1, ground snow-depth measurements and ERA5. The results indicate that the logic model based on NDSI has the best fitting effect, with R-square and RMSE values of 0.83 and 0.10, respectively. Meanwhile, the accuracy was improved after taking into account the effects of land-cover type and topography. The model is validated using MOD10A1 snow-covered areas, showing snow cover area differences of less than 4% across 6 temporal phases. The improved algorithm results in better consistency with MOD10A1 than with the vanilla algorithm. Moreover, the RMSE reaches greater levels when the elevation is below 2000 m or above 6000 m and is lower when the slope is between 16° and 20°. Using ground snow-depth measurements as ground truth, the multi-year recall rates are mostly above 0.7, with an average recall rate of 0.81. The results also show a high degree of consistency with ERA5. The validation results demonstrate that the AVHRR snow cover percentage remote sensing product proposed in this study exhibits high accuracy in the Tibetan Plateau region, also demonstrating that land-cover type and topographic factors are important to the algorithm. Our study lays the foundation for a global snow cover percentage product based on AVHRR-CDR and furthermore lays a basic work for generating a long-term AVHRR-MODIS fractional snow cover dataset. Over the past two decades, significant deposit discoveries were made in Northeastern China, including the super-large Chalukou, Daheishan, and Luming porphyry Mo deposits. The discovery of the Luming deposit was accomplished through verification of stream sediment anomalies, with mineralization closely associated with early Jurassic monzogranite and granite porphyry. Previous studies primarily focused on the mineralization mechanisms of these deposits without adequately addressing the exploration methods and prospecting criteria. This study involved a comprehensive re-evaluation of geological observations, analysis of rock primary halo, gravity and magnetic surveys, and induced polarization surveys conducted during exploration campaigns at the Luming porphyry Mo deposit. The results suggest that hydrothermal breccias play a critical role in controlling the mineralization by forming a central low-grade core within the deposit while the Mo mineralization and hydrothermal alteration exhibit a donut-shaped distribution around it. The primary halo shows a distinct metal zonation moving from a central W-Bi-Mo-(Sb) to a peripheral Cu-Co-Ni and a distal Pb-Zn-Ag-In. The mineralization zone exhibits a low Bouguer gravity anomaly, negative magnetic anomaly, medium to low resistivity, and moderate to high chargeability, indicating the effectiveness of geophysical methods in defining the extent of the ore body. The Luming porphyry Mo deposit and distal skarn-epithermal Pb-Zn mineralization are parts of a porphyry-related magmatic-hydrothermal system. The results of this study offer valuable insights into the genesis of porphyry Mo deposits and their implications for prospecting in the forested region of Northeastern China. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]
