Objective. Currently, the summaries of research on periodontal ligament stem cells (PDLSCs) are mainly reviews, and the systematic evaluation of all relevant studies is lacking. The aim of our study was to reveal the research status and developmental trends of PDLSCs using bibliometric analyses. Methods. Publications on PDLSC from 2004 to 2023 in the PubMed database were searched and then screened according to certain inclusion and exclusion criteria. Two researchers browsed the included papers and recorded information such as the research type and research model. The VOSviewer software was used to analyze the distribution of authors, journals, and institutions. The contents and directions of PDLSC research were summarized by analyzing high‐frequency keywords. The CiteSpace software was used to monitor burst words, determine hot factors, and indicate developmental trends. Results. During the past two decades, the number of studies on PDLSCs increased. China published the most related papers. The primary type of article was basic research. Among core journals, the Journal of Periodontal Research had the highest number of publications. The Fourth Military Medical University (China) was leading in the number of articles on PDLSCs. Research topics mainly included mechanism of periodontal diseases, tissue engineering and regeneration, biological characteristics of PDLSCs, and comparison with other stem cells. Infectious inflammation and mechanical stimulation were important pathological conditions and research topics. Conclusion. The research of PDLSCs is still in a rapid development stage. Optimizing the design of the conformal cooling channel can increase the cooling rate of injection mold. The aim of this study was the problem of low cooling efficiency of injection mold for deep-cavity plastic parts under the conventional cooling channel. Based on the analysis of the heat transfer principle of the injection mold, a mathematical description of the cooling time of the conformal cooling channel was made. By designing orthogonal experiments and using simulation methods in the Autodesk Moldflow 2019 software, with the minimum cooling time of the mold as the optimization goal, experimental optimization was carried out for the three design variables of the channel, thereby obtaining the optimal combination of design variables for the conformal cooling channel. The conformal cooling channel layout was innovatively designed, and through computer simulation experiments, it was concluded that the conformal cooling channel adopted a series flat-head layout, which has the shortest cooling time and the fastest cooling rate. Metal additive manufacturing technology was used to complete the manufacturing of the mold insert with the conformal cooling channel. After the trial production of the conformal cooling injection mold, the molding cycle was obviously shortened, and the injection molding production efficiency was significantly improved. The novel π‐electron donor‐based deep eutectic solvents (DESs) have been shown to be a promising type of absorbent with excellent performance on toluene absorption. However, their greenness or sustainability is still unclear. Thus, to bridge the gap and give a comprehensive evaluation for their industrialization potential, the life cycle assessment (LCA) was used to evaluate the potential environmental impacts incurred from their production and usage for absorbing toluene. The environmental profiles are also compared with that of popular choline chloride (ChCl) based DES, common organic solvent triethylene glycol (TEG) and ionic liquid ([EMIM][Tf2N]). The results indicate that among the involved hydrogen bond acceptors (HBAs), TEBAC generally imparts lower environmental impacts than other HBAs but has higher impacts than ChCl. Although TEBAC‐PhOH is not the most environmentally friendly absorbent during the production stage, its outstanding absorption performance minimizes the environmental impact when absorbing the same mass of toluene. Furthermore, the environmental impacts of the toluene absorption process using TEBAC‐PhOH is significantly lower than that of [EMIM][Tf2N], slightly lower than TEG. Therefore, considering both absorption performance and environmental impacts, TEBAC‐PhOH can be used as a promising "green and sustainable" toluene absorbent to traditional absorbents and ionic liquids. A standoff methane (CH4) sensor with actual hard topographic targets (usually called non-cooperative targets) is essential for natural gas pipeline leakage inspection and many other practical applications. To address this requirement, a miniaturized and low-power-consumption gas sensor was developed based on tunable diode laser absorption spectroscopy for standoff CH4 detection with a non-cooperative target. Wavelength modulation spectroscopy with a 1 f normalized 2 f detection method was employed for calibration-free CH4 measurement. A Kalman filter algorithm was used to improve the precision of the detection. The performance of the standoff CH4 sensor was evaluated comprehensively under various conditions, including different incident angles, different hard topographic targets, and different standoff distances. The results show that the measurement precision is 0.107% and the sensitivity is 4.08 parts per million per meter (ppm·m) with a time resolution of 1 s and a standoff distance of 40 m. The detection limit can achieve 1.24 ppm·m at an optimal integration time of 70 s. This sensor can be easily integrated into mobile platforms, which lays the foundation for intelligent leak inspection. Graphical abstract This is a visual representation of the abstract. The application of livelihood resilience theory to villages that have been resettled due to coal mining provides insights into the levels and impediments of livelihood resilience under different resettlement models. Such an exploration holds critical significance for enhancing the livelihood resilience of the resettled households and promoting sustainable development in coal mining areas. Grounded in the theoretical framework of livelihood resilience and considering the realities of mining areas, by referring to existing studies, this study devises an evaluative index system. Utilizing the TOPSIS model to calculate the level of livelihood resilience, and we delve into the impediments to livelihood resilience of households that resettled under different models using the obstacle model. The results indicate the following: (1) Overall, the level of livelihood resilience in areas resettled due to coal mining of Huaibei City is low. Significant disparities exist among the households resettled under different models in terms of buffering capacity, self-organizing ability, and learning ability. (2) Factors such as the quantity of labor, policy awareness, and participation in village collective meetings significantly influence households' livelihood resilience, albeit to varying degrees across different resettlement models. (3) Future interventions should address the challenges faced by the four types of resettled households by increasing employment opportunities, intensifying policy advocacy, and augmenting investments in education resources to elevate the livelihood standards of various households. The pathogenesis of depression is complex, involving abnormalities in tryptophan (TRP) metabolism through the kynurenine pathway (KP). Moreover, depression is closely related to the hypothalamic-pituitary-adrenal (HPA) axis, the gut-brain axis, neuroinflammation, and stress. These factors collectively influence the multidimensional pathological mechanisms of depression. TRP, a fundamental amino acid, serves as a precursor for neuroactive metabolites vital to physiological functions. Central to TRP metabolism is the KP, and the imbalance between neurotoxic and neuroprotective metabolites is closely related to the onset and progression of depression. Therefore, maintaining the balance of KP metabolites is important. In this review, we have investigated the role of the KP in depression and explored the complexity of KP dysregulation and its therapeutic importance. Here, we highlight how a deeper understanding of the KP and its regulation can pave the way for new treatment strategies. Specifically, we have summarized the latest advances in elucidating the key mechanisms of rate-limiting enzyme inhibitors, providing insights into their potential therapeutic efficacy. In addition, we have explored the emerging field of Chinese herbal medicine, discussing its potential to regulate KP metabolites and alleviate depressive symptoms, thereby expanding the treatment options for depression. Chronic wounds often produce a significant volume of exudate, posing a substantial obstacle to healing. Consequently, there is a pressing demand for a versatile dressing capable of effectively managing exudate in chronic wounds. In this context, a Janus smart dressing is proposed, featuring unidirectional water transport and a pH-responsive color-changing for exudate management and wound monitoring. The dressing's mechanisms for unidirectional water transport and color changing are elucidated. The Janus dressing consists of a polyacrylonitrile (PAN)/sodium polyacrylate (SPA)/anthocyanin (An) hydrophilic layer with antioxidant and pH-sensitive functions and a poly (3-hydroxybutyrate-co-3-hydroxyvalerate) (PHBV) hydrophobic layer, enabling unidirectional exudate drainage without reverse osmosis. Studies indicate that the Janus dressing exhibits excellent air permeability, moisture permeability, mechanical properties, cytocompatibility, and antioxidant performance while promptly responding to color variations in solutions of varying pH levels. In vivo studies demonstrated the excellent wound healing ability of Janus PHBV-PAN/SPA/An membrane. Introduction and Aims: Periodontal ligament stem cells (PDLSCs) from deciduous teeth (DePDLSCs) can perceive and respond to mechanical signals upon exposure to various environments. The effects of mechanical stress on the biological characteristics and metabolism of DePDLSCs were investigated using in vitro stress loading., Methods: DePDLSCs were subjected to mechanical stresses of different strengths. Cell proliferation, expression of osteogenic/osteoclastic factors, apoptosis, and oxidative stress levels were evaluated using CCK-8 assays, alkaline phosphatase staining, real-time PCR, flow cytometry, and malondialdehyde and superoxide dismutase assays. Liquid chromatography-mass spectrometry was used to perform nontargeted metabolomic detection and analysis., Results: Under stresses of 75 and 150 kPa, the expression of osteogenesis-related factors OPG, ALP, and RUNX2 decreased, and the ratio of RANKL/OPG significantly increased. A pressure of 150 kPa induced oxidative stress and caused a significant increase in cell apoptosis. Among the differential metabolites screened from the 150 kPa group, spermine, spermidine, ceramide, phosphatidylethanolamine, lysophosphatidylethanolamine, linoleic acid, and docosatrienoic acid were the most significantly upregulated. The metabolites screened from the 75 kPa group were mainly related to glycerophospholipid and sphingolipid metabolism, oxidative phosphorylation, and mineral absorption, which were common pathways affected in both experimental groups., Conclusion: A certain degree of mechanical stress can inhibit the proliferative activity and osteogenic differentiation of DePDLSCs, enhance their osteoclast-inducing ability, and cause elevated levels of cell apoptosis and oxidative stress. The metabolic expression profile of DePDLSCs changed significantly under stress. Shewanella algae is an emerging marine zoonotic pathogen. In this study, we first reported the Shewanella algae infections in patients and animals in Hainan Province, China. Currently, there is still relatively little known about the whole-genome characteristics of Shewanella algae in most tropical regions, including in southern China. Here, we sequenced the 62 Shewanella algae strains isolated from Hainan Province and combined with the whole genomes sequences of 144 Shewanella algae genomes from public databases to analyze genomic features. Phylogenetic analysis revealed that Shewanella algae is widely distributed in the marine environments of both temperate and tropical countries, exhibiting close phylogenetic relationships with genomes isolated from patients, animals, and plants. Thereby confirming that exposure to marine environments is a risk factor for Shewanella algae infections. Average nucleotide identity analysis indicated that the clonally identical genomes could be isolated from patients with different sample types at different times. Pan-genome analysis identified a total of 21,909 genes, including 1,563 core genes, 8,292 strain-specific genes, and 12,054 accessory genes. Multiple putative virulence-associated genes were identified, encompassing 14 categories and 16 subcategories, with 171 distinct virulence factors. Three different plasmid replicon types were detected in 33 genomes. Eleven classes of antibiotic resistance genes and 352 integrons were identified. Antimicrobial susceptibility testing revealed a high resistance rate to imipenem and colistin among the strains studied, with 5 strains exhibiting multidrug resistance. However, they were all sensitive to amikacin, minocycline, and tigecycline. Our findings clarify the genomic characteristics and population structure of Shewanella algae in Hainan Province.
