Polyoxometalates (POMs) possess unique redox properties, making them effective catalysts for various chemical transformations. Typically, in the N-formylation reaction, POMs can facilitate the conversion of CO2 and amines into formamide derivatives by activating the CO2 molecule and promoting its reaction with the amine substrate. POMs, exhibiting photocatalytic activity, can initiate and accelerate chemical reactions under light irradiation. This property is particularly beneficial in the context of CO2 utilization. The combination of catalytic activity, photocatalytic properties, structural diversity and redox activity makes them promising candidates for catalysing the N-formylation of amines using CO2. Herein, we present two novel Keggin cluster based solids, (C5H7N2)5[CoW12O40] (PS-96) and (C5H7N2)5[CuW12O40] (PS-97), of which PS-97 was active for efficient and photocatalytic N-formylation of various substituted anilines and morpholine with CO2 using phenyl silane as a reducing agent, under ambient conditions. Out of the array of amines tested, p-toluidine demonstrated the best conversion and yield of 83% and 96%, respectively. Infantile central palsy (CP) is caused due to damage to the immature developing brain usually before birth, leading to altered topography and biochemical milieu. CP is a life-limiting disorder, which causes changes in sensory, motor, cognitive, and behavioral functioning. Understanding its pathophysiology is complex, and current therapeutic modalities, oral medication, surgical treatment, physical therapy, and rehabilitation provide minimal relief. As the brain is plastic, it has an inherent capacity to adapt to altered activity; thus, non-invasive brain stimulation (NIBS) strategies, like repetitive transcranial magnetic stimulation, which can modulate the neuronal activity and its function, may lead to recovery in CP patients. Further, in recent years, nanomedicine has shown a promising approach in pre-clinical studies for the treatment of central nervous system disorder because it can cross the blood-brain barrier, improve penetration, and provide sustained release of the drug. The review focuses on the principles and mechanisms of various NIBS techniques used in CP. We have also contemplated the effect of rehabilitation and nanomedicine in CP children, which will definitely lead to advancing our diagnostic as well as therapeutic abilities, in a vulnerable group of little ones. The aim and objective of this investigation focus on the formulation of mouth-dissolving tablets of Fenoprofen calcium dihydrate spray dried solid dispersions. Materials and methods. Spray drying is a well-recognized manufacturing technique that can be used to create amorphous solid dispersions, which are an effective delivery method for poorly water-soluble pharmaceuticals such as Fenoprofen calcium dihydrate (FCD). In addition to skimmed milk powder (SMP) and FCD, the carrier β-cyclodextrin was used to produce solid dispersions. Results and discussion. The production of solid dispersions yielded reproducible results. Solid dispersion with β-cyclodextrin and skimmed milk powder is one way to increase disintegration time by increasing the water solubility of inadequately water-soluble FCD. In-vitro dissolution experiments of FCD mouth-dissolving tablets revealed significant differences. Stability studies should evaluate drug product characteristics that are susceptible to change during storage and are anticipated to impact quality, safety, and efficacy to demonstrate that the optimal formulations remain stable over the course of the study. The results of stability experiments were statistically significant at p<0.05 using one-way ANOVA followed by Dunnet's test. During in-vivo anti-inflammatory experiments, the formulation SDC6 demonstrated a greater percentage of inhibition than the purified drug and super disintegrant, and the results were statistically significant using one-way ANOVA followed by the Bonferroni test. Conclusions. The solid dispersions were prepared with β-cyclodextrin, and skimmed milk powder improved the solubility of the poorly water-soluble fenoprofen calcium dihydrate. Summary Sickle cell disease (SCD) with vaso‐occlusive pain crisis (VOC) significantly impacts patient well‐being and often results in extensive healthcare resource utilization. This study assessed the VOC burden, its management and its impact on patients' quality of life (QoL). A cross‐sectional observational study was conducted between November 2021 and June 2022, including 1000 SCD patients from high‐prevalence states in India. Data on demographics, clinical characteristics, VOC severity, management and QoL were collected. The study revealed that 33.5% of patients reported at least one VOC episode during the study period. In the year prior to their enrolment, 836 (83.60%) patients reported at least one VOC episode, with an equal proportion of 407/487 (83.6%) adults and 429/513 (83.6%) paediatric patients, reducing their QoL across all domains compared to patients without VOC. Of these, 469/1000 patients (46.9%) experienced ≥3 VOC episodes. Additionally, 764/1000 (76.40%) patients managed their VOCs at healthcare facilities, with 501/1000 (50.1%) requiring inpatient admissions. Further, 71.80% of patients received Hydroxyurea (HU) therapy. The study depicts the severity of the Arab–Indian haplotype in Indian SCD patients visiting healthcare settings based on high VOC burden.
