The aim of this case study is to analyze the migratory flow in the Amazon region, considering cross-border migratory trends from a diachronic perspective. The evolution of the mobility of Amazonian countries by nationality and territorial entity of destination is observed, especially considering Brazil, Colombia, Venezuela, Ecuador, Peru, and Bolivia, based on a review of the geographical, political, and economic aspects. In the first section, we address delimitations, inaccessible territories, and cross-border, documenting it since the eighteenth century. In the second section, we give an account of the main contemporary trends, in which the difficulty of the state to populate and control remains the existing connection between their localities and the political and economic centers in the interior and exterior of each country. Este texto apresenta algumas vivências de dois professores-pesquisadores de Psicologia de uma Universidade Federal, em uma cidade do interior da região centro-oeste do Brasil. Sala de aula, gabinete de supervisão de estágio, eventos do controle social do campo da Saúde e orientações de pesquisas compõem os cenários vivenciados. A Narrativa Autobiográfica é o método escolhido, por permitir a inclusão da experiência dos autores na construção de saberes e críticas. Apontamos as transformações em nossos currículos, abordagens teóricas e práticas derivadas dessas vivências fronteiriças e também as resistências encontradas frente às estruturas acadêmicas, representantes das elites culturais eurocentradas e do sistema eurocêntrico.

Este artigo aborda os espaços fronteiriços entre o livro Anos 70 Bahia, de Luiz Afonso e Sérgio Siqueira (2017), e o documentário Malucos de Estrada – Parte II – Cultura de BR, de Rafael Lage (2015), com o objetivo de propor uma reflexão crítica acerca das potencialidades, bem como aproximações, das representações, sujeitos e manifestações artísticas, considerando os processos de construção, circulação e recepção das obras, bem como suas conexões com o ciberespaço. O debate mobiliza o pensamento crítica de autores como Pierre Lévy, Henry Jenkins e Paul Zumthor, com vistas a assinalar a proximidade dessas obras como um amplo texto virtual. Essa perspectiva teórica é sustentada por meio de uma pesquisa bibliográfica e análises dos fragmentos narrativos.

In the present article we are going to analyse an attempt by the colonial government of Virreinato del Río de la Plata to re-group some indigenous communities of the Charrúa and the Minuano through negotiation with two Charrúa Caciques (Chieftains) as mediators. We are going to examine the conditions proposed in the agreement, the role of the Caciques as mediators in the peace talks, the objective conditions to achieve a lasting peace as well as the actions of deserters that inhabited the tolderías. By the end of the eighteenth century, the countryside of Banda Oriental del Uruguay was traversed by diverse problematic conditions as a consequence of its complexity as a political, international and interethnic frontier. On one hand, the condition of the political frontier between the Spanish and the Portuguese generated an increasing conflict due to military tensions, smuggling, livestock driving to Brazil, illegal slaughtering and the resulting violence towards the rural inhabitants and indigenous populations. On the other hand, the internal frontier with the Charrúa and the Minuano natives seemed more and more convulsed as result of the hispanic-creole population advance encircling the indigenous lands as well as the actions of gauderios, changadores and deserters [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

In the Hispanic-American colonial frontiers with indigenous peoples of Mapuche culture, elaborate diplomatic traditions anchored in prehispanic protocols and ceremonies took form between the end of the sixteenth and beginning of the eighteenth centuries. During the parlamentos (diplomatic encounters) that took place in the Araucanian frontier (Chile today), Spaniards progressively substituted the traditional Winter’s bark or Canelo tree branches -considered by the Mapuche as symbols of peace-for batons of command, meant to define those who received and used them as friendly caciques, holders of a pacifying and receptive power. In the frontiers of Mendoza and Buenos Aires (Argentina today), on the contrary, command batons appear as a purely colonial innovation that the Cacique considered a source of prestige. Spaniards used these objects as a means to increase internal hierarchies as well as to promote dissension among different groups. I intend to retrace the overall lines of the process through which the Canelo tree branch -a sign of high symbolic value in Mapuche diplomacy-was appropriated and gradually replaced by the hispanic baton of command, thus distorting its initial meaning as a peace sign to turn it into the materialisation of a delegated power, dignity and rank flowing from the Spanish king. In seeking to understand and respond to the challenges of contemporary migration crises, it is essential to explore not only the physical movement of people across geographical borders but also to undertake an analysis of a deeper migration: one that occurs through the deconstruction of the boundaries of thought, which revolves around rigid identities and the notion of an exclusive belonging that asserts itself as sovereign and excludes otherness, whether foreign or not. Identity is not a static and monolithic structure but rather a dynamic construction that is constantly shaped and reshaped by interactions with others and with the world around us. Therefore, in delving into the migratory crisis - both of people and of the mind - we inevitably embark on the urgent reflection on how to embrace this alterity that comes from outside. O presente texto versa sobre o papel central das drogas do sertão no alargamento da fronteira lusitana na Amazônia colonial. Ao longo da época moderna a floresta amazônica se configurou como uma fronteira entre as áreas de influência dos impérios europeus. Apesar de se conformar como uma região de fronteira, as dinâmicas de territorialidade portuguesas acabaram garantindo uma presença mais efetiva dos lusitanos, mesmo em zonas consideradas castelhanas. Essa territorialidade lusitana pode ser entendida a partir da coleta das drogas do sertão, que proporcionou o alargamento dessa fronteira e uma dinâmica socioeconômica entre lusitanos e povos indígenas.

A Micro-História pode oferecer possibilidades para novas interpretações do mundo a partir da alteração das escalas de observação, discutidas em torno de diferenças materiais e simbólicas. Nesse sentido, almeja-se uma construção que envolva análises dualísticas, polarizadas ou simplificadas, possibilitando, por meio de sua prática, perceber aspectos que nas abordagens convencionais podem passar despercebidos. Propomos discutir as bases epistemológicas da história escrita ancoradas na Micro-História, buscando evidenciar alguns temas, tensões, aproximações e distanciamentos nesta tarefa historiográfica. Dentre os diversos temas, pretendemos enfatizar a produção de dois espaços fronteiriços numa perspectiva micro-histórica, discutindo as relações entre a Micro-História Translocal e a História Global.

Durante a execução das demarcações de fronteira determinadas pelo Tratado de Santo Ildefonso (1777), as relações comerciais legais e ilegais realizadas por portugueses, espanhóis e populações indígenas nas fronteiras amazónicas envolveram diferentes produtos e atores. Esse comércio foi especialmente importante para abastecer de víveres a comissão espanhola. Além disso, os protestos contra o contrabando luso-espanhol nas fronteiras amazónicas indicam o papel desempenhado por autoridades locais nessa atividade. A partir de evidências em documentação portuguesa e espanhola, este artigo analisa a presença das redes de comércio e contrabando envolvendo as zonas amazónicas da Audiência de Quito e o Estado do Grão-Pará e Rio Negro durante as décadas finais do século XVIII.

Resumo: Este artigo tem por objetivo registrar uma análise interessada de alguns dos principais trabalhos e temas tratados por Patricia Birman ao longo de sua carreira. O texto dá destaque às suas contribuições para a Antropologia Brasileira, a partir de seus estudos sobre Religião e Periferias Urbanas. Priorizando a operação intelectual de Birman das ideias de fronteiras, tramas e emaranhados, o artigo aborda questões sobre o religioso e o secular; religião e espaço público; territórios, violências e tramas urbanas; e as fronteiras do humano. Este trabalho é uma homenagem na forma de um registro textual acadêmico e afetivo de um diálogo entre Patricia Birman e a autora do texto que foi sua orientanda, e cujo trabalho é marcado por estas questões.
