- Abstract
Plutella xylostellais one of the most important pests of brassicaceous crops around the world. Indoxacarb is widely used to control lepidopteran pest larvae. This insecticide has slow activity and prolonged residual effects which impact the habits and physiology of pests. The objective was to evaluate the effect of sublethal concentrations of indoxacarb on the biology and development time of the diamondback moth. Selection pressure of the insecticide indoxacarb was carried out on P. xylostella, applying the LC20of the previous generation for the next ten generations, the LC20of the resistant line (G10) was calculated and this concentration was subsequently applied to L3 larvae. The effect on the percentage and weight of pupae, adult emergence and oviposition for two generations was evaluated; in addition, the development time of egg, larva, pupa and adult. The results showed that resistance and exposure to LC20of indoxacarb caused changes in the biology and development of P. xyllostella. This was manifested in an increase in the percentage and weight of formed pupae and emergence of adults, along with a prolongation of development time of more than 10 days. However, a decrease of more than 50% in the number of eggs per female was observed., Plutella xylostellaes una plaga de las más importantes en los cultivos de brassicaceasalrededor del mundo.

- Abstract
The prairie dog (Cynomys mexicanus) is an endemic rodent of the grasslands of northern Mexico, considered a keystone species for the maintenance of its ecosystem. The main problem it faces is the increase in the agricultural frontier, which means that it is constantly exposed to chemical products used in nearby farming areas, such as pesticides. The objective of this study was to detect and quantify pesticide residues in soil samples of C. mexicanuscolonies from the states of Zacatecas and San Luis Potosí. A total of 5 soil samples were analyzed by High Performance Liquid Chromatography (HPLC). Eight pesticides were detected in 100% of the samples analyzed, of which glyphosate and methamidophos had higher concentrations, up to 5.5 mg/g and 4.8mg/g respectively. The results show that high concentrations of the mentioned pesticides are found in the soil compared to those detected in other studies and higher than the DL5Oestablished for both.

Secondary metabolites produced by the fermentation of Streptomyces avermitilis bacterium are powerful antiparasitic agents used in animal health, agriculture and human infection treatments. Avermectin is a macrocyclic lactone with four structural components (A1, A2, B1, B2), each of them containing a major and a minor subcomponent, out of which avermectin B1a is the most effective parasitic control compound. Avermectin B1a produces two homologue avermectins (B1 and B2) that have been used in agriculture as pesticides and antiparasitic agents, since 1985. It has a great affinity with the Cl-channels of the glutamate receptor, allowing the constant flow of Cl- ions into the nerve cells, causing a phenomenon of hyperpolarization causing death by flaccid paralysis. The purpose of this work was to gather information on the production of avermectins and their biocidal effects, with special emphasis on their role in the control of pests and phytopathogenic diseases. The literature showed that S. avermitilis is an important producer of macrocyclic lactones with biocidal properties. In addition, avermectin contributes to the control of ectoparasites and endoparasites in human health care, veterinary medicine and agriculture. Importantly, avermectin is a compound that is harmless to the host (no side effects), non-target organisms and the environment. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

AMERICAN cockroach ,TITANIUM oxides ,TITANIUM dioxide nanoparticles ,INSECT mortality ,NANOPARTICLES ,INSECTICIDES - Abstract
One of the important domestic insects that transmit many pathogens to the environment is the Periplaneta Americana. The control methods of this insect are often ineffective and have caused resistance in these insects. The purpose of the present study was to investigate the effects of contact and feeding lethality of titanium nanoparticles on Periplaneta Americana. In this study, different concentrations of nanoparticles were prepared for oral and contact treatments of Periplaneta Americana. Periplaneta Americana was treated by contact and oral methods with different concentrations of titanium oxide nanoparticles with three repetitions. The average percentage of insect mortality in different groups was compared by one-way analysis of variance and Duncan's test. Also, the average percentage of insect mortality on different days in each group was compared by analysis of variance with repeated observations. Oral treatment of Periplaneta Americana was more effective than contact treatment in concentrations of 15 and 21 percent on all days, but contact treatment was more effective than oral treatment on all days except the seventh day at a concentration of 25 percent. In general, oral treatment was more effective than contact treatment. With increasing doses and the passage of time, the mortality percentage of Periplaneta Americana due to contact and oral treatment with titanium dioxide nanoparticles increased significantly. According to the obtained results, the use of different nanoparticles, including titanium dioxide nanoparticles, can create a significant effect in controlling the Periplaneta Americana as a new method along with the previous methods.
