Field trips enrich learning programs with out-of-school activities that can bring gains in students' academic content knowledge and personal growth. However, they are a source of anxiety for teachers because of the bureaucracy, pedagogy, etc., risks they imply. To address this issue, we propose FieldTripOrganizer, a field trip planner based on the mixed-initiative approach aimed at increasing teachers' autonomy and motivation in designing educational tours. The key aspects of our application are (i) the simultaneous provision of information filtering and automated scheduling support while the user designs the field trip, and (ii) the visual annotation of places and activities to show whether they can be included in the itinerary without violating its time constraints. Different from current tour planners, these functions enable the user to be in full control of the design process, delegating the system to manage difficult and burdensome tasks such as consistency checks and itinerary optimization. We evaluated FieldTripOrganizer in the use case of organizing a science field trip. In a preliminary user study involving 18 science teachers, our application turned up to be superior to a baseline tour planner in both usability and user experience. Moreover, the teachers declared that it was helpful, motivated them, and reduced their anxiety during the design of the field trips.

Abstract Purpose This narrative review aims to conduct a comparative analysis of dietary and non-dietary approaches in the management of weight and disordered eating behaviors (DEBs) in adults with obesity. Methods Studies were identified from Medline (PubMed), including only English-language manuscripts published from 1998 to 2024. To be included in the review the studies had to be RCTs that compared the effect of dietary and non-dietary approaches on weight loss and DEBs in adults with obesity not being treated with pharmacological treatments. Results Seven randomized controlled trials (RCTs) reported in 8 manuscripts published between 1998 and 2024 met the inclusion criteria. The sample size ranged from a minimum of 16 subjects to a maximum of 219. All studies involved adult subjects, mainly women, with first-, second-, or third-degree obesity and most subjects had cognitive restriction and/or uncontrolled eating. Dietary approaches were characterized by moderate caloric restriction (CR) and restriction of fat intake. In contrast, non-dietary approaches focused on mindful eating (ME), intuitive eating (IE) and weight neutral (WN) approaches. Of the 7 RCTs included, 5 reported greater weight loss in the diet group compared to the non-diet group; however, only one of these sustained the result at follow-up. In contrast, 4 studies demonstrated greater improvements in DEBs in the non-diet group. Conclusion CR is essential for weight loss in individuals with obesity, but long-term weight management also hinges on their relationship with food. The psychological improvements reported in non-dietary versus dietary approaches should not be overlooked and can be a starting point for the development of multidisciplinary interventions involving synergistic actions between diet, exercise, and practices to improve DEBs with the goal of reducing the obesity epidemic. Abstract Introduction Vaccination is considered as one of the most promising strategies to overcome the COVID-19 pandemic. However, it could be associated with rare but serious complications. In the present study, we aimed to review the clinical course and etiology of post COVID-19 vaccination meningitis. Methods After a systematic search in PubMed, Scopus, and Web of Sciences online databases as well as Google Scholar, documents were screened and qualified. Then data extraction was performed and the most frequent underlying agent of meningitis was found based on the reported cases. Results Overall, 35 cases of post COVID-19 vaccination meningitis from 33 articles were included in the review. Among them, 12 cases had proven viral diagnosis and 23 of them were reported to be vaccine-induced. The most frequent viral pathogen among the cases was VZV. The most prevalent symptom was headache, and the most common time of appearance symptoms was one week after vaccination. Conclusion Overall, our study suggested meningitis as a critical but not devastating complication of COVID-19 vaccination. Almost all patients responded well to common agents used to manage viral or vaccine-induced meningitis. It is recommended to monitor patients with a history of chickenpox after COVID-19 vaccination regarding the development of meningitis.

Abstract Artificial insemination (AI) success in bovine reproduction is vital for the cattle industry’s economic sustainability and for advancing the understanding of reproductive physiology. Identify high-fertile animals’ fertility is a complex task due to multifactorial traits, including hormonal, age-related, and body condition factors. Early high-fertility identification is crucial for timely interventions and enhancing AI success. In this study, we present the potential use of Fourier-transform infrared (FTIR) spectroscopy on blood serum for early identification of high-fertile Nellore female cows for AI protocols. Blood serum FTIR spectra were obtained from Nellore female cows before AI. FTIR spectra underwent data analysis and the results demonstrated successful discrimination between animals that exhibit pregnant and non-pregnant diagnoses 30 days after AI. FTIR spectra revealed consistent vibrational modes, emphasizing Amide I and II bands. Principal Component Analysis (PCA) effectively segregated groups based on molecular information. Linear SVM with C = 10 and 4 PCs achieved 100% accuracy in the group classification. This innovative approach using FTIR spectroscopy and ML algorithms offers a promising means of high-fertile cow identification, potentially improving AI outcomes in Nellore cattle. The study presents valuable insights into advancements in reproductive management practices for this economically significant breed.

Insects, a traditional food in many parts of the world, are highly nutritious and especially rich in proteins and thus represent a potential food and protein source. They are rich in essential amino acids and unsaturated fatty acids and provide ample quantities of minerals such as Fe, Zn, Mn, Ca, and P essential for human health. The objective of this study was to assess the nutritional value of dried edible caterpillars with an exclusive focus on mineral content. Quantitative analysis of seven essential minerals for humans was analyzed for two dried edible caterpillars currently commercialized in Bukavu town, South Kivu province (eastern DR Congo) central market including Bunaeopsis aurantiaca (Lepidoptera: Saturniidae) and Imbrasia oyemensis (Lepidoptera: Saturniidae). Mineral content analysis of Ca, Mg, Na, Fe, Zn, and Mn were carried out using the Atomic Absorption Spectrophotometer (AAS) while the P content was analyzed using the Colorimetric method, then the mineral content was compared to the recommended daily intakes (mg/day). On a dry weight basis, we find that mineral content differed with type of caterpillar. I. oyemensis had the highest concentrations of most minerals tested compared to B. aurantiaca, which nevertheless had the greatest amount of phosphorus (P). P was significantly the most abundant mineral detected (605.70 ± 6.08 mg/100g; p < 0.001), followed by Mg and Na in I. oyemensis with 220.11 ± 6.10 mg/100g and 216.43 ± 1.08 mg/100g respectively. Oligo-minerals Zn and Fe, were the lowest in the caterpillar samples. All the edible caterpillars analyzed met the recommended daily mineral intake. The consumption of < 28 g and < 8 g of these caterpillars covers daily RNI in adults for Fe and Mn respectively. Thus, edible caterpillars in this study have shown that they can be excellent contributors to people's mineral requirements and should be sustainably utilized. Aside from direct consumption, there is a huge potential for using these caterpillars as raw material and food fortification. The mineral content of commonly eaten caterpillars was analyzed to inform consumers among indigenous populations in the Democratic Republic of Congo about the micro-nutritional quality of the insects.

The pandemic context put into operation social policies that sought to accompany the difficulties in earning an income. Against this background, social policies acquired a visible centrality in state agendas, dedicated to dealing with the health emergency caused by COVID-19. In the Argentine case, a policy called Emergency Family Income (EFI) was implemented, consisting of a cash transfer intended to mitigate the loss of income generated by Social, Preventive, and Compulsory Isolation (SPCI). The EFI’s management, implementation, access, and collection method underwent a digitalisation process, enabling access through official and nonofficial channels. Among nonofficial channels there are Facebook Groups, where the beneficiaries of social policies exchange information, doubts, and advice. Its application and actual access encountered several obstacles and engendered different emotions. As part of a virtual ethnography in a Facebook group, this paper develops -from the social studies of emotions-, how anger unfolds in the collection of a social policy. The analysis of emotions in state interventions allows us to reformulate the study of the implementation processes. The main findings are 1) anger appears as a product of the mismatch between expectation and experience in the face of irregular operations in its implementation; 2) anger presents a binding and supportive character that is shared in the search for empathy and is reinforced by sharing it; 3) it is driven by the evaluations of deserving/not deserving subsidies 4) politicians and different leaders are regarded as legitimate recipients. The conclusions highlight the central place that anger holds in the implementation of social policies. Studying anger allows us to shed light on the obstacles and the practices involved in state interventions and thus improve the implementation processes of social policies based on the experiences of the recipient population. It also makes it possible to identify some guidelines for improving government interventions, such as help with digitalisation processes; provide clear and uniform information; comply with regular payments; assist recipients; and promote government transparency.

Borate bioactive glasses are more soluble than silicate’s and convert rapidly and completely into hydroxyapatite (Ca5(PO4)3(OH)), being more suitable for wound healing applications than their silicate counterparts. In this work, the 45B5 composition (46.1 B2O3 – 26.9 CaO – 24.4 NaO – 2.6 P2O5, mol%)) were embedded into electrospun PHBV (Poly(3-hydroxybutyrate-co-3-hydroxyvalerate)) nanofibers by encapsulation and/or electrospray deposition aiming to produce a wound dressing with optimized bioactivity and antibacterial properties for wound healing applications. The fibers were characterized regarding their physical, structural, and thermal properties, and in vitro by L929 Mouse Fibroblast Cell Line adhesion, migration, and cytotoxicity and by its antibacterial activity against the bacteria S. aureus. The set of characterizations evidences that the encapsulation method was the most promising for the 45B5 embedding into PHBV nanofibers, as it produced a wound dressing with great loading efficiency (70%) with a highly hydrophilic surface, leading to expressive adhesion, migration, and viability of L929 cells and antibacterial activity. Thus, the nanofibers produced by the encapsulation method alone provided a dressing with high potential in wound healing management.

Many medicinal plant extracts have been proven to have significant health benefits. In contrast, research has shown that some medicinal plant extracts can be toxic, genotoxic, mutagenic, or carcinogenic. Therefore, evaluation of the genotoxicity effects of plant extracts that are used as traditional medicine is essential to ensure they are safe for use and in the search for new medication. This review summarizes 52 published studies on the genotoxicity of 28 plant extracts used in traditional medicine. A brief overview of the selected plant extracts, including, for example, their medicinal uses, pharmacological effects, and primary identified compounds, as well as plant parts used, the extraction method, genotoxic assay, and phytochemicals responsible for genotoxicity effect were provided. The genotoxicity effect of selected plant extracts in most of the reviewed articles was based on the experimental conditions. Among different reviewed studies, A total of 6 plant extracts showed no genotoxic effect, other 14 plant extracts showed either genotoxic or mutagenic effect and 14 plant extracts showed anti-genotoxic effect against different genotoxic induced agents. In addition, 4 plant extracts showed both genotoxic and non-genotoxic effects and 6 plant extracts showed both genotoxic and antigenotoxic effects. While some suggestions on the responsible compounds of the genotoxicity effects were proposed, the proposed responsible phytochemicals were not individually tested for the genotoxicity potential to confirm the findings. In addition, the mechanisms by which most plant extracts exert their genotoxicity effect remain unidentified. Therefore, more research on the genotoxicity of medicinal plant extracts and their genotoxicity mechanisms is required.

Objective: To describe pulmonary function, muscle strength and functional performance in the different qualities of sleep and the impact of this on the number of physiotherapeutic assistances. Methods: This is an observational study. In the pre and post operative period, sleep behavior was evaluated using the Pittsburgh questionnaire. Patients were divided into three groups: Good Sleep Quality (GSQ), Poor Sleep Quality (PSQ) and Sleep Disordered (SDB). At this time, other tests were also performed, such as: 6-Minute Walk Test (6MWT), Sit and Stand Test (SST), gait speed test and Timed Up to Go (TUG), Medical Research Council (MRC), maximal inspiratory pressure and maximal expiratory, vital capacity and peak expiratory flow. The functional performance and lung function of each group were compared. Results: A total of 105 people, undergoing cardiac surgery and admitted to hospital were evaluated, 33 with GSQ, 41 with PSQ and 31 with SD. Patients who were in the SDB group had a lower functional performance than the other groups. 6MWT (meters) in the GSQ was 499 ± 87, versus 487 ± 91 in the PSQ and 430 ± 78 in the SD (p = 0.02). In the SST (seconds) it was 10.4 ± 1.1 in the GQS, 11.1 ± 2.3 in the PSQ and 15.4 ± 2.1 in the SD (p = 0.04). Lung function and muscle strength did not differ between groups. Regarding the refusal to perform physical therapy, the SD group was more incident, the main reason being drowsiness. Conclusion: Based on the results, we found that sleep quality interferes with functional performance and physical therapy assistance during the hospital stay in patients undergoing cardiac surgery.

BackgroundChildhood obesity has become a significant public health concern over the past 2 decades, posing multifactorial challenges, including modifiable factors like dietary habits, physical activity, screen time, and sleeping habits. Prevention efforts require a comprehensive approach comprising educational interventions, collaboration among multidisciplinary teams, and community engagement. Since schools play a central role in children's lives, they are the ideal setting for promoting healthy habits. ObjectiveThe LIVELY (Multidimensional School-Based and Family-Involved Interventions to Promote a Healthy and Sustainable Lifestyle) study will assess the prevalence of overweight and obesity in primary school children and identify contributing factors within families. Additionally, it aims to implement and evaluate a multidimensional, multidisciplinary intervention to foster a sustainable and healthy lifestyle, ultimately working toward preventing obesity in school-aged children. MethodsDuring the school year, each class will be individually involved in a multidimensional educational intervention covering the topics of healthy, sustainable nutrition and lifestyle. Children will also participate in a multimedia lab where they will create an animated cartoon. The lectures will engage them through various methods, including direct instructions, games, and drawing activities, to stimulate and enhance their learning and involvement. ResultsData collection began in October 2023 and will last until the end of October 2024. A sample of 227 children from 14 classes was included in the study. The mean age was 8.9 (SD 1.2) years, and 48% (n=110) were males. Among the overall sample, 18.1% (n=41; 95% CI 13.7%-23.7%) were overweight, while 5.3% (n=12; 95% CI 3%-9%) had obesity. Males had a higher prevalence of obesity than females (9.1%, n=10 vs 1.7%, n=3, P=.03, respectively). Otherwise, the prevalence of central obesity was similar between the two (P=.329). Data analysis and the presentation of the complete results will be available after the end of 2024. ConclusionsThe study could lead to the structuring of an educational intervention model in school settings aimed at preventing childhood obesity. Moreover, it could help raise awareness of childhood obesity and help prevent this public health issue. Abstract Background Research in the neurosciences has highlighted the importance of intersubjective relationships in promoting neuromental development of the child. Children’s learning in early childhood occurs mainly in a dyadic context of an interaction with their parents: from this perspective, good dialogic parent–child communication is required to be promoted also through good educational practices. Dialogic Book-Sharing (DBS), a dialogic form of parent–child communication through the use of wordless picture books, provides a privileged ‘intersubjective’ space and is highly effective in promoting communication, language, attention, behavioural development and the parent–child relationship. DBS programme, successfully previously trialled in South Africa and the UK, will be applied for the first time in Italy for research purposes in Italian health, educational and maternal-child centres. Methods A multicentre randomised controlled trial is being conducted to evaluate DBS parenting intervention for children aged between 14 and 20 months. Parent–child dyads are randomly allocated to a book-sharing intervention group or to a wait-list control group. In the intervention, parents are trained in supportive book-sharing with their children by local staff of the centres. DBS intervention is carried out in small groups over a period of 4 weeks. Data are collected at baseline, post-intervention and at 6 months post-intervention with a questionnaire and video recording of parent–child interaction. Discussion DBS programme in early childhood could enhance the educational resources offered by Italian health, educational and maternal-child centres, in support of child’s development and parenting. DBS represents a strategic opportunity for bringing about positive effects, also in terms of prevention of socio-emotional and cognitive difficulties. As such it represents a promising response to the new social, health and educational needs of the post-COVID-19 pandemic era caused by the social isolation measures. Furthermore, the application of the DBS methodology is a way to promote the use of books, and thereby counteract the excessive use of technological devices already present in early childhood. Alzheimer's disease (AD) is the most widespread and irreversible form of dementia and accounts for more than half of dementia cases. The most significant risk factors for AD are aging-related exacerbations, degradation of anatomical pathways, environmental variables and mitochondrial dysfunction. Finding a decisive therapeutic solution is a major current issue. Nuanced interactions between major neuropathological mechanisms in AD in patients and microbiome have recently gained rising attention. The presence of bacterial amyloid in the gut triggers the immune system, resulting in increased immune feedbacks and endogenous neuronal amyloid within the CNS. Also, early clinical research revealed that changing the microbiome with beneficial bacteria or probiotics could affect brain function in AD. New approaches focus on the possible neuroprotective action of disease-modifying medications in AD. In the present review, we discuss the impact of the gut microbiota on the brain and review emerging research that suggests a disruption in the microbiota-brain axis can affect AD by mediating neuroinflammation. Such novel methods could help the development of novel therapeutics for AD.

The oldest human coronavirus that started pandemics is severe acute respiratory syndrome virus (SARS-CoV). While SARS-CoV was eradicated, its new version, SARS-CoV2, caused the global pandemic of COVID-19. Evidence highlights the harmful events orchestrated by these viruses are mediated by Spike (S)P protein. Experimental epitopes of the S protein which were overlapping and ancestral between SARS-CoV and SARS-CoV-2 were obtained from the immune epitopes database (IEDB). The epitopes were then assembled in combination with a 50 S ribosomal protein L7/L12 adjuvant, a Mycobacterium tuberculosis-derived element and mediator of dendritic cells (DCs) and toll-like receptor 4 (TLR4). The immunogenic sequence was modeled by the GalaxyWeb server. After the improvement and validation of the protein structure, the physico-chemical properties and immune simulation were performed. To investigate the interaction with TLR3/4, Molecular Dynamics Simulation (MDS) was used. By merging the 17 B- and T-lymphocyte (HTL/CTL) epitopes, the vaccine sequence was created. Also, the Ramachandran plot presented that most of the residues were located in the most favorable and allowed areas. Moreover, SnapGene was successful in cloning the DNA sequence linked to our vaccine in the intended plasmid. A sequence was inserted between the XhoI and SacI position of the pET-28a (+) vector, and simulating the agarose gel revealed the existence of the inserted gene in the cloned plasmid with SARS vaccine (SARSV) construct, which has a 6565 bp in length overall. In terms of cytokines/IgG response, immunological simulation revealed a strong immune response. The stabilized vaccine showed strong interactions with TLR3/4, according to Molecular Dynamics Simulation (MDS) analysis. The present ancestral vaccine targets common sequences which seem to be valuable targets even for the new variant SARS-CoV-2.

The purpose of this paper is to offer a comprehensive guide for novice researchers (mostly applicable to PhD students and those new to qualitative research), teachers, and reviewers of qualitative psychology research methods. This paper delineates the main quality criteria across qualitative methods: providing a holistic framework that covers fundamental principles as well as nuanced, context-specific guidelines relevant to a chosen qualitative approach. First, we demonstrate why this overview is needed, in part because of an increasing emphasis on finding sound ways of appraising qualitative studies, the lack of agreement on quality markers, and the variety of qualitative research methodologies available. Next, we present general criteria for quality across all qualitative methods, before setting out method specific criteria for four commonly used qualitative research approaches: Reflexive Thematic Analysis (RTA), Interpretative Phenomenological Analysis (IPA), Critical Discursive Psychology/Discursive Psychology (CDP/DP) and Constructivist Grounded Theory (CGT). While the focus is on providing criteria specific to these methodological approaches, we also describe the broader philosophical foundations underpinning these approaches and other branches within these philosophies, recognising that methodological criteria can be contrasting and competing even within methodologies. The integration of general and approach-specific criteria cultivates a deeper understanding of both the philosophical underpinnings and practical intricacies of qualitative inquiry, empowering researchers to navigate the methodological landscape with critical acumen and intellectual humility. Finally, we compare the four methodologies in terms of key features and qualities they aim to achieve. The paper emphasizes that even though there are criteria that are common across the field, it is essential to maintain the specific stance of each individual methodological approach.

Tourists spend a lot of effort in planning itineraries when organizing a trip. This is a complex activity that involves selecting the places to visit and dealing with a number of temporal issues to generate a schedule for the visit. In the paper we propose an architecture for a recommender that suggests personalized tourist itineraries and a personalized time schedule. The approach takes into account (i) user preferences for the places to be included in the itinerary and (ii) several temporal dimensions concerning both temporal information and constraints (e.g., opening hours, time for visiting each place, time to move among places) and time-related user preferences (e.g., number of days of the visit, preferring a dense schedule vs having a lot of free time, the variety of the types of attractions during a day of visit). The approach is based on a combination of genetic algorithms and temporal reasoning. It focuses on generating temporally annotated itineraries starting from a ranked list of places to be included. Thus, our solution is designed as a module that can be coupled with any system recommending places to visit. The design started from a user study we carried out to analyze the temporal dimensions to take into account, and to find relationships between such dimensions and users’ personality traits, and led to the development and evaluation of a prototypical implementation that generates personalized itineraries for the city of Turin.

En el presente artículo se explora el procedimiento metodológico de entrevistas virtuales realizadas en una experiencia de investigación social empírica sobre políticas sociales y sociedades 4.0. Las entrevistas virtuales fueron realizadas a personas receptoras de políticas sociales residentes en ciudades del interior de la provincia de Córdoba, Argentina, en el marco del Aislamiento Social Preventivo y Obligatorio, durante el 2020 y 2021. Se realizaron cuarenta entrevistas, identificando diferentes fases en su proceso de implementación. Se identifica que las políticas sociales han incorporado, en sus procesos de implementación, las Tecnologías de la Información y la Comunicación (TIC), y en el siglo XXI los fenómenos de lo social acusan signos de hibridez entre el mundo virtual/físico. Ello impacta directamente en las técnicas y procedimientos requeridos para el estudio de las políticas sociales, lo que obliga a revisar las estrategias de abordaje de lo social. Las TIC se han inscripto en las prácticas cotidianas impactando en la identidad, la socialización, las desigualdades y los modos de hacer ciencia. En ese marco, las entrevistas virtuales permiten identificar que la construcción del dato se asume en una interacción donde se solapan y superponen actividades, resignifican las tradicionales fases de la entrevista cara a cara y redefinen las reglas de interacción, habilitando la centralidad del consentimiento informado en cada fase.

Over the past 50 years, the space race has potentially grown due to the development of sophisticated mechatronic systems. One of the most important is the bio-inspired mobile-planetary robots, actually for which there is no reported one that currently works physically on the Moon. Nonetheless, significant progress has been made to design biomimetic systems based on animal morphology adapted to sand (granular material) to test them in analog planetary environments, such as regolith simulants. Biomimetics and bio-inspired attributes contribute significantly to advancements across various industries by incorporating features from biological organisms, including autonomy, intelligence, adaptability, energy efficiency, self-repair, robustness, lightweight construction, and digging capabilities-all crucial for space systems. This study includes a scoping review, as of July 2024, focused on the design of animal-inspired robotic hardware for planetary exploration, supported by a bibliometric analysis of 482 papers indexed in Scopus. It also involves the classification and comparison of limbed and limbless animal-inspired robotic systems adapted for movement in soil and sand (locomotion methods such as grabbing-pushing, wriggling, undulating, and rolling) where the most published robots are inspired by worms, moles, snakes, lizards, crabs, and spiders. As a result of this research, this work presents a pioneering methodology for designing bio-inspired robots, justifying the application of biological morphologies for subsurface or surface lunar exploration. By highlighting the technical features of actuators, sensors, and mechanisms, this approach demonstrates the potential for advancing space robotics, by designing biomechatronic systems that mimic animal characteristics.

Human breast milk (HBM) is considered the gold standard for infant nutrition due to its optimal nutrient profile and complex composition of cellular and non-cellular components. Breastfeeding positively influences the newborn’s gut microbiota and health, reducing the risk of conditions like gastrointestinal infections and chronic diseases (e.g., allergies, asthma, diabetes, and obesity). Research has revealed that HBM contains beneficial microbes that aid gut microbiota maturation through mechanisms like antimicrobial production and pathogen exclusion. The HBM microbiota composition can be affected by several factors, including gestational age, delivery mode, medical treatments, lactation stage, as well as maternal lifestyle habits (e.g., diet, physical activity, sleep quality, smoking, alcohol consumption, stress level). Particularly, lifestyle factors can play a significant role in shaping the HBM microbiota by directly modulating the microbial composition or influencing the maternal gut microbiota and influencing the HBM microbes through the enteromammary pathway. This narrative review of current findings summarized how maternal lifestyle influences HBM microbiota. While the influence of maternal diet on HBM microbiota is well-documented, indicating that dietary patterns, especially those rich in plant-based proteins and complex carbohydrates, can positively influence HBM microbiota, the impact of other lifestyle factors is poorly investigated. Maintaining a healthy lifestyle during pregnancy and breastfeeding is crucial for the health of both mother and baby. Understanding how maternal lifestyle factors influence microbial colonization of HBM, along with their interactions and impact, is key to developing new strategies that support the beneficial maturation of the infant’s gut microbiota.

In this study, multiwalled carbon nanotubes (MWCNTs) were incorporated into vulcanized natural rubber (VNR) matrixes to create nanocomposites with improved mechanical, thermal, and electrical properties. The interfacial interaction of the MWCNTs with the VNR matrix was quantitatively evaluated based on the crosslink density value calculated using the Flory–Rehner methodology. Various rheometric parameters were influenced by the addition of the MWCNTs, including minimum torque (ML), maximum torque (MH), and scorch time (tS1). The MWCNTs significantly enhanced the vulcanization of the composites based on the VNR matrix. This study highlights the impact of MWCNTs on crosslink density, improving mechanical properties and reducing swelling in the VNR matrix. We discovered that the MWCNTs and the VNR matrix interact strongly, which improved the mechanical properties of the matrix. The MWCNTs improved the hardness, tensile strength, and abrasion resistance of the VNR/MWCNT nanocomposites. Based on dynamic mechanical analysis, MWCNT incorporation improved stiffness as indicated by a change in storage modulus and glass transition temperatures. The addition of MWCNTs to the VNR/MWCNT nanocomposites significantly improved their electrical properties, reaching a percolation threshold where conductive pathways were formed, enhancing their overall conductivity. Overall, this study demonstrates the versatility and functionality of VNR/MWCNT nanocomposites for a variety of applications, including sensors, electromagnetic shielding, and antistatic blankets.
