The recent development of accurate and efficient semilocal density functionals on the third rung of Jacob's ladder of density functional theory, such as the revised regularized strongly constrained and appropriately normed (r2SCAN) density functional, could enable rapid and highly reliable prediction of the elasticity and temperature dependence of thermophysical parameters of refractory elements and their intermetallic compounds using the quasi-harmonic approximation (QHA). Here, we present a comparative evaluation of equilibrium cell volumes, cohesive energy, mechanical moduli, and thermophysical properties (Debye temperature and thermal expansion coefficient) for 22 transition metals using semilocal density functionals, including the local density approximation (LDA), Perdew–Burke–Ernzerhof (PBE) and PBEsol generalized gradient approximations (GGAs), and the r2SCAN meta-GGA. PBEsol and r2SCAN deliver the same level of accuracies for structural, mechanical, and thermophysical properties. PBE and r2SCAN perform better than LDA and PBEsol for calculating cohesive energies of transition metals. Among the tested density functionals, r2SCAN provides an overall well-balanced performance for reliably computing cell volumes, cohesive energies, mechanical properties, and thermophysical properties of various 3d, 4d, and 5d transition metals using QHA. Therefore, we recommend that r2SCAN could be employed as a workhorse method to evaluate thermophysical properties of transition metal compounds and alloys in high throughput workflows. [Display omitted] Oxygen reduction reaction (ORR) and oxygen evolution reaction (OER) are essential for the development of excellent bifunctional electrocatalysts, which are key functions in clean energy production. The emphasis of this study lies in the rapid design and investigation of 153 MN 4 –graphene (Gra)/ MXene (M 2 NO) electrocatalysts for ORR/OER catalytic activity using machine learning (ML) and density functional theory (DFT). The DFT results indicated that CoN 4 –Gra/Ti 2 NO had both good ORR (0.37 V) and OER (0.30 V) overpotentials, while TiN 4 –Gra/M 2 NO and MN 4 –Gra/Cr 2 NO had high overpotentials. Our research further indicated orbital spin polarization and d-band centers far from the Fermi energy level, affecting the adsorption energy of oxygen-containing intermediates and thus reducing the catalytic activity. The ML results showed that the gradient boosting regression (GBR) model successfully predicted the overpotentials of the monofunctional catalysts RhN 4 –Gra/Ti 2 NO (ORR, 0.39 V) and RuN 4 –Gra/W 2 NO (OER, 0.45 V) as well as the overpotentials of the bifunctional catalyst RuN 4 –Gra/W 2 NO (ORR, 0.39 V; OER, 0.45 V). The symbolic regression (SR) algorithm was used to construct the overpotential descriptors without environmental variable features to accelerate the catalyst screening and shorten the trial-and-error costs from the source, providing a reliable theoretical basis for the experimental synthesis of MXene heterostructures. AbstractObjectivesMethodResultsConclusionOlder adults are at an elevated risk of experiencing long COVID, with post-COVID-19 depressive symptoms being prevalent. However, the protective factors against this remain understudied. This study examined (a) the role of resilience in the association between COVID-19 infection and depressive symptoms in aging adults; (b) the moderating role of family functioning in the relationships between COVID-19 and resilience and between resilience and depressive symptoms; and (c) potential gender differences in the moderation.Data were drawn from the first wave of the Panel Study of Active Ageing and Society, a representative survey of Hong Kong adults aged 50 or above. Mediation and moderated mediation analyses were conducted.Approximately 35% of the participants had tested positive for COVID-19. Resilience significantly mediated the association between COVID-19 infection and post-COVID-19 depressive symptoms (p < 0.001). Family functioning was a significant moderator: the COVID-19-resilience association was stronger, and the resilience-depressive symptoms association was weaker among participants with higher family functioning. The moderating role of family functioning was more salient in women than in men.Resilience can protect aging adults from post-COVID-19 depressive symptoms. Aliphatic glucosinolates are an abundant group of plant secondary metabolites in Brassica vegetables, with some of their degradation products demonstrating significant anti-cancer effects. The transcription factors MYB28 and MYB29 play key roles in the transcriptional regulation of aliphatic glucosinolates biosynthesis, but little is known about whether BoMYB28 and BoMYB29 are also modulated by upstream regulators or how, nor their gene regulatory networks. In this study, we first explored the hierarchical transcriptional regulatory networks of MYB28 and MYB29 in a model plant, then systemically screened the regulators of the three BoMYB28 homologs in cabbage using a yeast one-hybrid. Furthermore, we selected a novel RNA binding protein, BoRHON1, to functionally validate its roles in modulating aliphatic glucosinolates biosynthesis. Importantly, BoRHON1 induced the accumulation of all detectable aliphatic and indolic glucosinolates, and the net photosynthetic rates of BoRHON1 overexpression lines were significantly increased. Interestingly, the growth and biomass of these overexpression lines of BoRHON1 remained the same as those of the control plants. BoRHON1 was shown to be a novel, potent, positive regulator of glucosinolates biosynthesis, as well as a novel regulator of normal plant growth and development, while significantly increasing plants' defense costs. Two polyoxometalate-based hybrids, [M(btap)3(H2O)3(HPW12O40)]·xH2O (M-PW, M = Co/Mn, btap = 3,5-bis(1′,2′,4′-triazol-1′-yl)pyridine) were synthesized. This study explores the integration of X‐ray‐induced photochromism and photoluminescence in a single material, offering innovative multi‐mode applications in optical memory, anti‐counterfeiting, and X‐ray detection and imaging. The photochromic phosphor LiAlSi2O6:Sm3+ is synthesized, which undergoes a color change from white to dark green under bright field conditions and displays orange photoluminescence in dark field conditions after X‐ray exposure due to defect formation. The phosphor shows accelerated bleaching and recovery under 473 nm laser stimulation. The distinct X‐ray‐induced color contrast and luminescence intensity modification in LiAlSi2O6:Sm3+ highlight its potential in advanced luminescent material design. Moreover, a LiAlSi2O6:Sm3+‐based flexible film demonstrates “dual‐mode” 3D X‐ray imaging and detection capabilities, paving the way for future X‐ray detecting and imaging device research. Recently, studies have reported a correlation that individuals with diabetes show an increased risk of developing Alzheimer's disease (AD). Mulberry leaves, serving as both a traditional medicinal herb and a food source, exhibit significant hypoglycemic and antioxidative properties. The flavonoid compounds in mulberry leaf offer therapeutic effects for relieving diabetic symptoms and providing neuroprotection. However, the mechanisms of this effect have not been fully elucidated. This investigation aimed to investigate the combined effects of specific mulberry leaf flavonoids (kaempferol, quercetin, rhamnocitrin, tetramethoxyluteolin, and norartocarpetin) on both type 2 diabetes mellitus (T2DM) and AD. Additionally, the role of the gut microbiota in these two diseases' treatment was studied. Using network pharmacology, we investigated the potential mechanisms of flavonoids in mulberry leaves, combined with gut microbiota, in combating AD and T2DM. In addition, we identified protein tyrosine phosphatase 1B (PTP1B) as a key target for kaempferol in these two diseases. Molecular docking and molecular dynamics simulations showed that kaempferol has the potential to inhibit PTP1B for indirect treatment of AD, which was proven by measuring the IC50 of kaempferol (279.23 μM). The cell experiment also confirmed the dose-dependent effect of kaempferol on the phosphorylation of total cellular protein in HepG2 cells. This research supports the concept of food–medicine homology and broadens the range of medical treatments for diabetes and AD, highlighting the prospect of integrating traditional herbal remedies with modern medical research. A pineal region tumor is a rare intracranial tumor, and its specific location leads to its own characteristics. This study aimed to provide some insight for medical practice in the care of pineal region tumors. We investigated the key epidemiological characteristics and survival prognosis of pineal tumors based on the epidemiological data from the Surveillance, Epidemiology, and End Results database. Data of pineal region tumor patients from 1975 to 2019 were extracted from the Surveillance, Epidemiology, and End Results database. The data were divided into 3 pathologic groups: germ cell tumors, pineal parenchymal tumors, and other. The patients' overall survival (OS) was analyzed using the Kaplan-Meier method. The prognostic effects of the patient characteristics on OS were explored using the Cox proportional hazard model. The analysis results are presented as tabular data, Kaplan-Meier plots, forest plots, and nomograms. A calibration curve was used to verify the nomograms. All analyses were performed for all patients overall and stratified by pathological group using SPSS and R language. Based on the predefined inclusion and exclusion criteria, 628 patients were included in this study, of whom 440 (70.1%) were male and 188 (29.9%) were female. Most patients were aged 0–19 years. The pathological type was germinoma for 225 patients (35.8%). Age, surgery, behavioral code, and pathology were significant factors for OS. A calibration curve was used to verify that the nomograms had a good prediction effect. An intuitive nomogram was developed and verified and can predict the prognosis of patients with pineal tumors. AIM: To investigate the effect of conditioned medium from hypoxia/reoxygenation (H/R)-treated rat cardiac fibroblasts (CFs) on gap junction between cardiomyocytes and determine whether its mechanism is related to matrix metalloproteinase 2 (MMP2) activity. METHODS: (1) H9c2 cells were randomly divided into five groups: control group, normal group, ARP-100 group, H/R group, and H/R+ARP-100 group. Scrape loading/dye transfer assay was used to assess the gap junction function. Western blot was used to detect the expression and phosphorylation levels of Cx43. Gelatin zymography assay was performed to measure MMP2 activity. (2) SD rats were randomly divided into control group, ARP-100 group, ischemia-reperfusion (I/R) group, and I/R+ARP-100 group, with 8 rats in each group. Micro-electrode array technology was used to record the type and duration of arrhythmia. Immunohistochemistry experiment was performed to assess expression levels and distribution of Cx43 in myocardial tissues. RESULTS: Compared with the control group, the H/R group showed decreased protein expression of Cx43 (P<0. 01), narrowed distance of lucifer yellow diffusion (P<0. 01), and increased MMP2 activity (P<0. 01). ARP-100 attenuated H/R-induced gap junction dysfunction (P<0. 05). The arrhythmia score was also reduced after perfusion with ARP-100 (P<0. 01). To explore the of Qufeng Tongqiao Prescription in the treatment of cerebral ischemia–reperfusion (CIR) and associated molecular network mechanism. Venny diagram, gene ontology (GO) and kyoto encyclopedia of genes and genomes (KEGG) analysis, protein–protein interaction (PPI), hub genes mining, molecular docking, combined with animal experiments and Nissl stain were performed to determine the molecular network mechanism of Qufeng Tongqiao Prescription for CIR treatment. Fifty three intersecting genes between Qufeng Tongqiao Prescription and cerebral ischemia reperfusion were acquired from Venny analysis. GO analysis showed that the main biological process (BP) was response to lipopolysaccharide, and the main cell localization (CC) process was membrane raft, while the most important molecular function (MF) process is Cytokine receptor binding. Moreover, AGE‐RAGE signaling pathway in diabetic complications is the most important signaling pathway in KEGG pathway. Through molecular docking, it was found that Astragalus membranaceus was docked with MAPK14, IL4, FOS, IL6, and JUN; pueraria membranaceus was directly docked with JUN and IL4; Acorus acorus was linked to JUN and MAPK14; Ganoderma ganoderma and human were involved in JUN docking, and Ligusticum chuanqi and pueraria could not be docked with MAPK14, respectively. The results of animal experiments showed that Qufeng Tongqiao Prescription significantly improved behavioral performance and reduced the number of neuronal deaths in rats subjected to CIR, and molecular mechanisms are associated with FOS, IL‐6, IL4, JUN, and MAPK14, of there, IL‐6, as a vital candidator, which has been confirmed by immunostaining detection. Together, Qufeng Tongqiao Prescription has positive therapeutic effect on CIR, and the underlying mechanism is involved MAPK14, FOS, IL4, and JUN network, while IL‐6 may be as a vital target. The plant growth-promoting rhizobacterium Tsukamurella tyrosinosolvens P9 can improve peanut growth. In this study, a co-culture system of strain P9 and peanut was established to analyze the transcriptome of peanut roots interacting with P9 for 24 and 72 h. During the early stage of co-culturing, genes related to mitogen-activated protein kinase (MAPK) and Ca2+ signal transduction, ethylene synthesis, and cell wall pectin degradation were induced, and the up-regulation of phenylpropanoid derivative, flavonoid, and isoflavone synthesis enhanced the defense response of peanut. The enhanced expression of genes associated with photosynthesis and carbon fixation, circadian rhythm regulation, indoleacetic acid (IAA) synthesis, and cytokinin decomposition promoted root growth and development. At the late stage of co-culturing, ethylene synthesis was reduced, whereas Ca2+ signal transduction, isoquinoline alkaloid synthesis, and ascorbate and aldarate metabolism were up-regulated, thereby maintaining root ROS homeostasis. Sugar decomposition and oxidative phosphorylation and nitrogen and fatty acid metabolism were induced, and peanut growth was significantly promoted. Finally, the gene expression of seedlings inoculated with strain P9 exhibited temporal differences. The results of our study, which explored transcriptional alterations of peanut root during interacting with P9, provide a basis for elucidating the growth-promoting mechanism of this bacterial strain in peanut. Simple Summary: Immune checkpoint inhibition is a targeted therapeutic approach in some advanced or metastatic gastric cancer (GC) patients. This review provides elaborated information on various immune therapeutic inhibitors in gastric cancer undergoing clinical trials. Gastric carcinoma, being one of the most prevalent types of solid tumors, has emerged as the third leading cause of death worldwide. The symptoms of gastric cancer (GC) are typically complex, which makes early detection challenging. Immune checkpoint inhibition has become the new standard targeted therapy for advanced or metastatic GC. It is currently being explored in various combinations, both with and without chemotherapy, across multiple therapies in clinical trials. Immunotherapy can stimulate immune responses in GC patients, leading to the destruction of cancer cells. Compared with traditional therapies, immunotherapy has shown strong effectiveness with tolerable toxicity levels. Hence, this innovative approach to the treatment of advanced GC has gained popularity. In this review, we have outlined the recent advancements in immunotherapy for advanced GC, including immune checkpoint inhibitors, cancer vaccines, vascular endothelial growth factor-A inhibitors, and chimeric antigen receptor T-cell therapy. Our current emphasis is on examining the immunotherapies presently employed in clinical settings, addressing the existing challenges associated with these therapeutic approaches, and exploring promising strategies to overcome their limitations. A macrocyclic confinement‐activated green phosphorescence and two‐photon near‐infrared (NIR) fluorescence supramolecular cascade assembly is constructed by multivalent interaction based on the alkyl‐bridged triphenylamine‐vinyl pyridine salts (BTPA), cucurbit[8]uril (CB[8]), β‐cyclodextrin‐grafted hyaluronic acid (HACD), and 4‐bromophenyl pyridine salt and CB[8] complex (PY/CB[8]). Taking advantage of CB[8]‐induced macrocyclic confinement and molecular folding, the fluorescence of BTPA is effectively redshifted by 30 nm from 720 to 750 nm. Subsequently, HACD, a cancer cell targeting agent, is co‐assembled with a BTPA/CB[8] supramolecular folder to form a nanoparticle, further enhancing NIR fluorescence from 750 nm up to 810 nm through cascade confinement. Upon introduction of the 2:1 complex PY/CB[8], multicomponent nanoparticles are fabricated, not only showing efficient NIR fluorescence with an increase in quantum yield from 7.21% to 22.92% but also endowing green phosphorescence emission, which is successfully applied for two‐photon cancer cell‐targeted imaging to shield background interference from fluorescent and phosphorescent resources. Background: Hepcidin is the master regulator of iron homeostasis. Hepcidin downregulation has been demonstrated in the brains of Alzheimer's disease (AD) patients. However, the mechanism underlying the role of hepcidin downregulation in cognitive impairment has not been elucidated. Methods: In the present study, we generated GFAP-Cre-mediated hepcidin conditional knockout mice (HampGFAP cKO) to explore the effect of hepcidin deficiency on hippocampal structure and neurocognition. Results: We found that the HampGFAP cKO mice developed AD-like brain atrophy and memory deficits. In particular, the weight of the hippocampus and the number of granule neurons in the dentate gyrus were significantly reduced. Further investigation demonstrated that the morphological change in the hippocampus of HampGFAP cKO mice was attributed to impaired neurogenesis caused by decreased proliferation of neural stem cells. Regarding the molecular mechanism, increased iron content after depletion of hepcidin followed by an elevated level of the inflammatory factor tumor necrosis factor-α accounted for the impairment of hippocampal neurogenesis in HampGFAP cKO mice. These observations were further verified in GFAP promoter-driven hepcidin knockdown mice and in Nestin-Cre-mediated hepcidin conditional knockout mice. Conclusions: The present findings demonstrated a critical role for hepcidin in hippocampal neurogenesis and validated the importance of iron and associated inflammatory cytokines as key modulators of neurodevelopment, providing insights into the potential pathogenesis of cognitive dysfunction and related treatments. This research examines the anti‐aging potential of the flavonoid derivative of isoquercitrin known as enzymatically modified isoquercitrin (EMIQ). Initial HPLC analyses showed that EMIQ used in the study contained 1–12 glucosides and 10.7% pentahydroxyflavonoids, promising potent antioxidant properties. In subsequent in‐vitro studies with UVA‐exposed human dermal fibroblasts (HDFa), EMIQ demonstrated protective properties by reducing collagen damage. It modulated both the TGFβ/Smad pathway and the MMP1 pathway, contributing to collagen preservation. This protective effect was further confirmed using the T‐Skin™ model, a reconstructed full‐thickness human skin model, which illustrated that EMIQ could defend the physiological structures of both the epidermis and dermis against UV radiation. A 28‐day clinical trial with 30 volunteers aged 31–55 years highlighted EMIQ's effectiveness. Participants using EMIQ‐containing Essence displayed reduced facial trans‐epidermal water loss and skin roughness, alongside improved skin elasticity. This study emphasizes EMIQ's potential as an anti‐photoaging ingredient in cosmetics, warranting further research. Double perovskite (DP) phosphors attract extensive attention due to their potential applications in the field of optoelectronics. Photochromism‐induced luminescence modulation can extend their application fields. However, designing and preparing DP phosphors with expected photochromic and luminescent properties is still challenging. Herein, the photochromic Ba2YTaO6: Yb3+, Er3+, Co2+ DP with upconversion luminescence properties is developed. The color of the sample turns from white to pink upon 254 nm UV light irradiation, which is fast fading upon 473 nm laser illumination. The mechanism of photochromism is related to the formation of color centers, and the doping of Co2+ ions is crucial for the improvement of photochromism, which is from the increasing of traps depth, the oxygen vacancies, and the carrier concentration of the matrix caused by Co2+ doping. The upconversion luminescence of Er3+ ions can be reversibly modulated by the photochromic effect, exhibiting excellent reproducibility and high stability. The potential application of photochromic Ba2YTaO6: Yb3+, Er3+, Co2+ phosphor is demonstrated in the field of anticounterfeiting and three‐dimensional (3D) artwork. The efficient separation of Zr(IV) ions from strong acidic and radioactive solutions is a significant challenge, especially in the context of the aqueous reprocessing of nuclear fuels. The complexity of such solutions, which are often characterized by high acidity and the presence of radioactive elements, poses formidable challenges for separation processes. Herein, several mesoporous silicas (HMS, MCM-41, KIT-6, and SiO2-70 Å) with excellent acid and radiation resistance properties were employed as sorbents to remove Zr(IV) ions from simulated high-level liquid waste. The batch experiments were designed to investigate the influence of adsorption time, HNO3 concentration, initial Zr(IV) concentration, adsorbent dosage, and temperature on the adsorption behavior of Zr(IV). The results indicate that the adsorption equilibrium time of mesoporous silica materials was approximately 8 h, and all the adsorption processes followed the pseudo-second-order kinetics equation. The isotherms of Zr(IV) adsorption by KIT-6 exhibited good agreement with the Langmuir model, while the Freundlich model could be utilized to fit the adsorption on HMS, MCM-41, and SiO2-70 Å. The adsorption capacity of MCM-41 for Zr(IV) in 3 mol/L HNO3 was 54.91 mg/g, which is three times the adsorption capacity reported for commercial silica gel (17.91 mg/g). The thermodynamic parameters indicate that the adsorption processes for zirconium are endothermic reactions. Furthermore, the mesoporous silicas exhibited a pronounced selectivity in the adsorption of Zr(IV) within a simulated high-level liquid waste containing 10 co-existing cations (3 mol/L HNO3). This suggests that mesoporous silicas have great potential for Zr(IV) removal in actual radioactive liquids with high acidity during spent fuel reprocessing. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

Background: Obesity significantly increases Alzheimer's disease (AD) and dementia risk. Understanding the link between a high body mass index (BMI) and these conditions is crucial for effective management and prevention. Objective: We aimed to estimate the burden of AD and other dementias attributed to high BMI from 1990 to 2019 based on sex, age, and socio-demographic indicators (SDI) at global, regional, and national levels. Methods: We collected data on deaths, disability-adjusted life years (DALYs), age-standardized mortality rates (ASMR), and age-standardized DALY rates (ASDR) from the 2019 Global Burden of Disease study for AD and dementia attributed to high BMI. We explored the correlation between SDI levels and ASDR. Results: In 2019, there were 198,476.2 deaths (95% UI: 32,695.4–593,366.4) and 3,159,912.4 DALYs (848,330.5–8,042,531) attributed to high BMI. Numbers of deaths, DALYs, ASMR, and ASDR increased since 1990. Females had higher deaths, ASMR, and ASDR than males. Mortality and DALYs rates increased with age. ASMR and ASDR increased across five SDI levels, with the highest rise in Low-middle SDI. High-income North America had the most deaths [30,993.9 (5,101.7–89,912.9)], while North Africa and the Middle East had the highest ASMR [4.61 (0.79–13.64)] and ASDR [72.56 (20.98–181.16)] in 2019. Conclusions: The burden of AD and other dementias attributed to high BMI increased since 1990 globally and is still heaviest in developed regions. Stability of the internal kink (IK) mode is numerically investigated with inclusion of the anisotropic thermal transport effect and the toroidal plasma flow. It is found that anisotropic thermal transport, in combination with plasma flow, stabilizes the IK in two ways. One is direct stabilization of the mode synergistically with plasma flow. The other, indirect stabilization involves generation of a finite mode frequency in static plasmas by thermal transport, which in turn invokes wave-wave resonance damping of the mode via interaction with stable shear Alfvén waves. This second IK stabilization mechanism is further corroborated by examining the eigenmode structure, which peaks at the radial locations where the mode frequency matches that of the shear Alfvén wave. Finally, two branches of unstable IK are identified, with mode conversion occurring at certain plasma flow speed and thermal transport level. Cropland soil erosion is primarily caused by agricultural production and indirectly altered by consumption patterns. A well-developed grain trade system transfers grain products to distant locations, away from their place of origin where soil erosion may have occurred. Evidence-based policies to control soil erosion can be developed by holding consumers responsible for the soil erosion caused by their consumption. However, there have been few systematic studies on cropland soil erosion that is embodied in grain trade. In this study, we estimated the soil erosion intensity (SEI) of grain production in each province of China from 1990 to 2020 by combining the Revised Universal Soil Loss Equation and socio-economic statistics. We also constructed an interprovincial grain trade network using linear programming techniques and analyzed the cropland soil erosion associated with the interprovincial grain trade. The results showed a rise in national cropland soil erosion attributed to grain production from 5.36×108 t in 1990 to 7.56×108 t in 2020. In particular, those embodied in interprovincial grain trade increased from 0.94×108 t in 1990 to 3.52×108 t in 2020. Nationally, about 10.72% of soil erosion exports in 2020 was from provinces with lower-than-average SEI, compared to 18.42% in 1990, indicating that current patterns of grain production and consumption are unfavorable for erosion control. Accordingly, measures have been proposed to build a soil erosion control system that includes consumers, such as changing farming practices, optimizing agricultural layout, promoting technology export and establishing a provincial compensation mechanism. Solar-driven interfacial evaporation (SIE) technology stands out as a promising approach for seawater desalination, leveraging solar energy efficiently in an environmentally friendly manner. However, the enrichment of organic pollutants on the interfacial evaporator has posed significant obstacles to the sustained implementation of SIE. Herein, a spongy, anti-pollution cellulose acetate membrane consisting of Ag 2 S-doping MXene nanosheets (MT-Ag 2 S/CAM) is proposed for sustainable desalination. The MT-Ag 2 S/CAM exhibited ultralow water vaporization enthalpy of 1.50 kJ g−1. Meanwhile, the MT-Ag 2 S/CAM, featured by high porosity (75.25 %), excellent light absorption and salt resistance, demonstrated a notable solar-driven evaporation rate of 1.8 kg m−2h−1 and a remarkable photothermal conversation efficiency of 91.6 % under one sun irradiation. Meanwhile, MT-Ag 2 S/CAM can realize a removal efficiency of 93.3 % for methylene blue, exhibiting outstanding anti-pollution and self-cleaning capabilities as well as long-term stability due to its strong mechanical properties. The construction of heterojunction structures is pivotal in enhancing carrier separation and photocatalytic activity. Hence, AgI/PCN-224 (APN-x composites) Z-scheme heterojunctions were successfully synthesised using an in-situ precipitation method. The direction of electron migration and the band structures of APN-x were comprehensively investigated using a combination of experimental approaches and density functional theory (DFT) calculations. Owing to the extensive visible-light absorption capabilities of PCN-224 and the high efficiency of photogenerated carrier separation in the Z-scheme heterojunction, the optimally developed APN-3 photocatalyst demonstrated exceptional photodegradation efficiency for tetracycline hydrochloride (TCH). The removal rate of TCH by APN-3 within 120 min reached 91.56%, approximately 4.64 times higher than that achieved by pure AgI. The intriguing coexistence of these divergent functionalities has prompted extensive investigation into water-soluble fullerenes. The photodynamic properties of these compounds find practical applications in DNA cleavage, antitumor interventions, and antibacterial endeavors. Consequently, photodynamic therapy is progressively emerging as a pivotal therapeutic modality within the biomedical domain, owing to its notable levels of safety and efficacy. The essential components of photodynamic therapy encompass light of the suitable wavelength, oxygen, and a photosensitizer, wherein the reactive oxygen species generated by the photosensitizer play a pivotal role in the therapeutic mechanism. The remarkable ability of fullerenes to generate singlet oxygen has garnered significant attention from scholars worldwide. The aging of microplastics (MPs) is extremely influenced by photochemically-produced reactive intermediates (PPRIs), which are mediated by natural photosensitive substances. Algal extracellular polymeric substances (EPS) can produce PPRIs when exposed to sunlight. Nonetheless, the specific role of EPS in the aging process of MPs remains unclear. This work systematically explored the aging process of polystyrene (PS) MPs in the EPS secreted by Chlorella vulgaris under simulated sunlight irradiation. The results revealed that the existence of EPS accelerated the degradation of PS MPs into particles with sizes less than 1 µm, while also facilitating the formation of hydroxy groups on the surface. The release rate of dissolved organic matter (DOM) from PS MPs was elevated from 0.120 mg·L-1·day-1 to 0.577 mg·L-1·day-1. The primary factor contributing to the elevated levels of DOM was humic acid-like compounds generated through the breakdown of PS. EPS accelerated the aging process of PS MPs by primarily mediating the formation of triplet excited states (3EPS*), singlet oxygen (1O 2), and superoxide radicals (O 2 ∙-), resulting in indirect degradation. 3EPS* was found to have the most substantial impact. Alloying the platinum with the nickel and cobalt is an efficient approach to lessen the usage of Pt without compromising the catalytic performance. Few studies have focused on coupling the Pt with the NiCo/oxide composite for hydrogen evolution reaction (HER). Herein, we synthesize three types of hierarchical Pt 15 -NiCo/oxide composites by impregnation, followed by calcination and hydrogenation treatment. The three electrocatalysts have similar intrinsic activity towards HER in 1.0 M KOH, while the Pt 15 -NiCo/CeO 2−x displays the highest catalytic performance because of its large electrochemically active surface area, showing an extremely small overpotential of 12 mV at 100 mA cm−2, making it the best low-Pt-content electrocatalyst for HER. When used as a bifunctional electrocatalyst for urea-assisted hydrogen production, the Pt 15 -NiCo/CeO 2−x demonstrates excellent catalytic performance with a very small cell voltage of 1.36 V to reach 10 mA cm−2 and robust long-term working stability. Postoperative fatigue syndrome (POFS) is an important factor in postoperative recovery. However, the effect of anesthetic drugs on postoperative fatigue in female patients has been rarely studied. This study compared the effects of maintaining general anesthesia with propofol or sevoflurane on the incidence of POFS in patients undergoing laparoscopic hysterectomy. This prospective, single-blind, randomized controlled trial enrolled patients scheduled for laparoscopic hysterectomy. Eligible patients were randomized into the propofol and sevoflurane groups. The primary outcome was the incidence of POFS within 30 Days, defined by a simplified identity consequence fatigue scale (ICFS-10) scores≥24 or Visual Analogue Scale (VAS) scores of fatigues>6. Secondary outcomes were perioperative grip strength, early ambulation and anal exhaust after surgery, and inpatient days. 32 participants were assigned to the propofol group (P) and 33 to the sevoflurane group (S). Incidence of POFS on postoperative D1 was P (8/32) vs. S (10/33) (p = 0.66, 95% confidence interval [CI]: 16.4–27.00); D3 P (2/32) vs. S (5/33) (p = 0.45,95% CI:5.96–23.76). POFS were not found on postoperative D5 and D30. There were no differences in perioperative grip strength, early ambulation and anal exhaust after surgery, and inpatient days between the two groups. POFS after scheduled laparoscopic hysterectomy was unaffected by anesthesia with propofol vs. sevoflurane. The incidence of POFS was highest on the first postoperative day, at 27.7%, and declined progressively over the postoperative 30 days. Angong Niuhuang Wan (AGNHW) is a prescription from traditional Chinese medicine (TCM) that has been used for centuries to treat ischemic stroke (IS) and hemorrhagic stroke (HS). According to a recent study, targeting ferroptosis might be effective in the management of IS and HS. However, the ferroptosis-related effects and mechanisms of AGNHW have not yet been reported. This research examines the anti-ferroptosis mechanisms of AGNHW in the treatment of IS and HS. A system pharmacological approach including in vivo experiment, UHPLC-Q-Orbitrap HRMS, network pharmacology, molecular docking, microscale thermophoresis, and in vitro experiment was utilized to study the anti-ferroptosis mechanisms of AGNHW against IS and HS. In vivo experiments indicated that AGNHW enhanced nerve function, decreased cerebral infarct volume, ameliorated histological brain injuries, improved the structural integrity of the blood-brain barrier, ameliorated the mitochondrial dysfunction and morphology disruption, and inhibits ROS, LPO and Fe2+ accumulations in IS and HS rats. Using UHPLC-Q-Orbitrap HRMS, the key ingredients of AGNHW-containing serum were identified as bilirubin, berberine, baicalin, and wogonoside. According to the network pharmacology analyses, AGNHW could inhibit ferroptosis by modulating the PPAR and PI3K/AKT signaling pathways. The core targets are PPARγ, AKT, and GPX4. Molecular docking and microscale thermophoresis experiments further revealed that the key ingredients have strong interactions with ferroptosis-regulating core proteins. Moreover, in vitro experiment results showed that AGNHW alleviated ferroptosis injury induced by erastin in PC12 cells, increased cell viability, reduced the LPO and Fe2+ levels, and up-regulated mRNA expressions of PPARγ, AKT, and GPX4. AGNHW also up-regulated protein expressions of PPARγ, p-AKT/AKT, and GPX4 in IS and HS rats. AGNHW attenuated ferroptosis in treating IS and HS by targeting the PPARγ/AKT/GPX4 pathway. Interleukin-27 (IL-27) is known to play opposing roles in immunology. The present paper considers, specifically, the role IL-27 plays in cancer immunotherapy when combined with immune checkpoint inhibitor anti-PD-1. We first develop a mathematical model for this combination therapy, by a system of Partial Differential Equations, and show agreement with experimental results in mice injected with melanoma cells. We then proceed to simulate tumor volume with IL-27 injection at a variable dose F and anti-PD-1 at a variable dose g. We show that in some range of "small" values of g , as f increases tumor volume decreases as long as f < F c (g) and increases in a range where f > F c (g) , where F c (g) is a monotone increasing function of g. This demonstrates that IL-27 can be both anti-cancer and pro-cancer, depending on the ranges of both anti-PD-1 and IL-27. • IL-27 has both anti-inflammatory and pro-inflammatory functions. • IL-27 can be both anti-cancer and pro-cancer when combining with anti-PD-1. • Anti-PD-1 improves the treatment efficacy of IL-27. The facile design of self-supporting electrocatalysts with high activity and stability for OER catalysis at industrial-grade current density is of paramount significance to mitigate the above bottlenecks. We report herein the construction of iron foam (IF) self-supported Ir-magnetite (Ir-Fe 3 O 4 /IF-T-x) electrode via galvanic replacement between IrCl 6 2− ions and Fe2+ in Fe 3 O 4 nanosheet arrays, which is simply synthesized by annealing IF in air and subsequent thermal treatment in reducing atmosphere. Such pre-treatment enables the growth of leaf-like Fe 3 O 4 nanosheet arrays with rich Fe2+ species and oxygen defects, which facilitate the depositing of Ir on the surface of nanosheet arrays and thereby promote the electrochemical OER performance in basic electrolyte. Impressively, the optimized Ir-Fe 3 O 4 /IF-400-2 delivers the highest electrocatalytic activity with a low overpotential of 316 mV to obtain industrial-grade current density of 500 mA cm−2 for alkaline OER. Meanwhile, the catalyst still shows good long-term stability after 36 h V-t test at 100 mA cm−2. Membrane-based separation technology for carbon capture has received increasing attention in the world due to low energy consumption, investment and operating cost. However, the simultaneous improvement in selectivity and permeance has faced large challenge for mixed matrix membranes owing to limited affinity sites and transport channels. Herein, the nano-scale MIP-202 (SM-202) was first prepared by inhibited Ostwald ripening strategy during crystal growth, and then nano-scale amorphous MIP-202 (ASM-202) was prepared by thermal chemical reaction. Subsequently, mixed matrix composite membranes (MMCMs) were developed by using ASM-202 as a filler and polyether-block-amide (Pebax) as a polymer matrix, and the hydrophilicity-modified polysulfone ultrafiltration membrane (mPSf) was utilized as a porous support. It is observed that ASM-202 possessed good miscibility with Pebax polymer chains as a result of hydrogen bonds between two phases. Thus, the as-obtained MMCMs showed outstanding CO 2 separation performance (CO 2 permeance: 936 GPU; CO 2 /N 2 selectivity: 52), which were enhanced by 138 % and 108 % over that of the pristine Pebax membrane, as well as 15.3 % and 13.0 % over that of MMCMs incorporating with SM-202, respectively. The improvement in gas separation performance can be explained by the reason that the nano-scale ASM-202 with large specific surface area afforded more unsaturated metal sites and nitrogen-doped structure, thus improving the CO 2 affinity in membranes. Moreover, the loose amorphous structure of ASM-202 provides more transport passageways, which enhanced the diffusion rate of gas molecules through the membranes. Besides, resultant MMCMs maintained great stability for over 360 h using the CO 2 /N 2 mixed gas as feed gas, whose average CO 2 permeance and CO 2 /N 2 selectivity fluctuated at 880 GPU and 47. The effect of 1.0 % (w / v) sodium alginate (SA) glazing on surface frost formation and the quality of frozen fish balls in repeated freeze-thaw (F-T) cycles was studied. The optimal glazing property of 1.0 % SA solution was manifested by high transmittance, excellent water resistance, and high ice glazing rate. After seven F-T cycles, compared with the control, the ice production, thawing loss, and total volatile base nitrogen (TVB-N) value of samples with 1.0 % ice glazing decreased by 28.30 %, 21.02 %, and 27.35 %, while the chewiness and whiteness were increased by 15.02 % and 10.40 %, respectively. Moreover, compared to the control, the microstructure of fish balls glazed with 1.0 % SA was smoother and more uniform, and the ice crystal diameter was smaller. Therefore, 1.0 % SA glazing effectively inhibits the formation of ice crystals, reducing water migration and loss while minimizing damage to the meat structure, thus enhancing the quality of meat products. • 1.0 % sodium alginate (SA) was selected as the ice glazing solution for fish balls. • SA ice glazing reduced surface frosting during freeze-thaw (F-T) cycles. • The quality deterioration in the F-T cycle was inhibited by SA ice glazing. • SA ice glazing has the potential to extend the shelf life of meat products. To accurately predict the drying of a porous medium from saturated to unsaturated conditions over time, this paper proposes two-phase partitioning boundaries for liquid water evaporation and water vapor transport at the medium surface. A non-isothermal two-phase (liquid water and gas mixtures), two-component (dry air and water vapor) transport model with nonequilibrium and interface-dependent phase change is then developed. The governing equations are then numerical solved using COMSOL Multiphysics software and applied to describe a series of laboratory soil drying tests as examples. The performance of the proposed boundaries at the surface is illustrated by comparison with other three common used boundaries. The results show that a specific flux of vapor at the surface with a zero flux of liquid water cannot be adopted to describe the drying process of initially saturated media due to the lack of interconnected gas-filled pores. The merged liquid-vapor boundary applied in the Darcy–Richards model significantly prolongs the constant rate stage when the liquid water evaporation is dominant. Then, the effects of air/gas–water interfacial area and water retention parameters on the drying process are investigated. A faster reduction in the air–water relative interfacial area at the medium surface will shorten the drying process with earlier dominance of the vapor transport. An increased entry capillary pressure and a decreased pore size distribution index for the water retention curve will result in slower drying, more loss by vapor transport and a more homogeneous distribution of pore water respect to depth. Through defect modulation, ZrB 2 powder was controllably synthesized using the carbon thermal reduction (CTR) method, with boron powder serving as a novel additive. Thermodynamic data for the ZrO 2 -B 2 O 3 -C system in the presence of boron were calculated using HSC thermodynamic software. Additionally, TG-DSC thermal analysis combined with XRD was used to investigate the reaction process. Transmission electron microscopy (TEM) and scanning electron microscopy (SEM) were used to analyze the defect structure and grain surface characteristics of the reaction products. The results indicate that the reaction of B with ZrO 2 and C exothermically alters the nucleation environment of ZrB 2 grains. The helical dislocations generated act as a source of crystal growth steps, promoting the growth of smooth interfaces and leading to a transformation of the ZrB 2 grain growth mechanism. Quantitative calculations of the dislocation density of ZrB 2 powders, using the convolutional multiple whole profile fitting (CMWP-fit), suggest that the inclusion of boron as an additive can modulate the defect concentration of the products. ZrB 2 powders with varied dislocation densities were achieved through meticulously controlled synthesis methods, followed by subsequent densification via hot pressing sintering. The results indicated that the relative density of ZrB 2 ceramics increased from 83.9 % to 96.7 % as the dislocation density of the powder increased from 2.7 × 1013 m−2 to 7.6 × 1014 m−2 with the rise in boron content from 0 wt% to 3 wt%. In addition, the defects create extra sintering-driving forces that induce a shift in the densification mechanism from grain boundary diffusion to dislocation slip during hot-pressing sintering. A reversible solid thermally responsive deep‐blue pure organic room temperature phosphorescent material is constructed by terephthalic acid (PPA), β‐cyclodextrin (β‐CD), and poly(vinylalcohol) (PVA). Attributed to the host‐guest interaction of β‐CD to isolate PPA chromophore and the rigid environment offered by hydrogen bonds to suppress the nonradiative decays, amorphous supramolecular assembly PPA‐CD/PVA not only induces a deep‐blue phosphorescence at 410 nm that differing from traditional PPA derivatives with green emission but also enhances the quantum yield up to 30.52%. Uncommonly, this film exhibits a unique reversible thermal stimulation response property with blue and cyan phosphorescence color transitions because heating can destroy the binding behavior between β‐CD and PPA, resulting in redshift phosphorescence emission from PPA stacking. Additionally, with the incorporation of Rhodamine B (RhB) or Sulforhodamine 101 (SR101) into the supramolecular film, color‐tunable phosphorescence from blue to white, yellow, and red relying on the thermal stimulation is realized through triplet‐to‐singlet Förster resonance energy transfer (TS‐FRET) platform. These thermochromic phosphorescence materials are successfully applied in multilevel anticounterfeiting and information encryption, which provides a new simple approach for temperature‐responsive TS‐FRET multicolor luminescence supramolecular materials. The electrochemical performance of supercapacitors drops precipitously at extreme low temperatures due to a multitude of reasons, which includes electrolyte freezing, sluggish ion transport in the electrode and electrolyte, and high charge transfer resistance at electrode–electrolyte interfaces. To address high interface resistance, a new supercapacitor architecture is reported, in which MXene/carbon nanotube electrodes with vertically aligned channels are synthesized to reduce tortuosity and maximize the electrode–electrolyte contact area. These electrodes are fabricated using a directional‐freezing strategy, generating direct and fast ion transport pathways. Further, a freeze‐resistant electrolyte which shows high ionic conductivity is synthesized by designing a double‐crosslinked polymer network in a binary solvent consisting of ionic liquid and water, which exhibits an ultralow freezing temperature of −54 °C. An all‐in‐one supercapacitor is assembled by an integrated polymerization strategy to minimize interfacial resistances. The resulting device delivers a specific capacitance of 231 F g−1 at 2 mV s−1 and a maximum energy density of 10.17 Wh kg−1, while maintaining a capacitance retention of 92%, even at an extreme low temperature of −50 °C. Polycystic ovary syndrome (PCOS) refers to a condition that often has 'poly' liquid containing sacks around ovaries. It affects reproductive-aged females giving rise to menstrual and related reproductive issues. PCOS is marked by hormonal imbalance often resulting in hyperandrogenism. Inflammation is now considered a central manifestation of this disease with several inflammatory biomarkers such as TNF-α, C-reactive protein and Interleukins-6/18 found to be particularly elevated in PCOS patients. Diagnosis is often late, and MRI-based diagnosis, along with blood-based analyses, are still the best bet for a definitive diagnosis. Radiomics also offers several advantages and should be exploited to the maximum. The mechanisms of PCOS onset and progression are not very well known but pituitary dysfunction and elevated gonadotrophin releasing hormone resulting in high levels of luteinizing hormone are indicative of an activated hypothalamic-pituitary-ovarian axis in PCOS. A number of studies have also identified signaling pathways such as PI3K/Akt, NF-κB and STAT in PCOS etiology. With the rapid development of intelligent and connected vehicles, the experimental road test for the advanced driving assistance system (ADAS) is dramatically increasing around the world. Considering its high cost and hazardous situations, simulation test based on a dummy model is becoming a promising way for ADAS road test practice to reduce the experiment expanses. This study proposed a methodology for the evaluation of the performance of human and dummies with distinct designed materials based on the data extracted from the Doppler effect of millimeter-wave radar. Echo data of 8 different angles from 0 to 360 degrees, with the an interval of 45 degrees, at the same distance between the test object and the signal source is collected. Meanwhile, the echo energy is collected for correlation modeling and analysis among groups. By evaluating the performance of humans and dummies via statistical analysis, a close correlation was found which results verified the substitutability of the dummy for the ADAS experiment test. The correlation coefficient between human and dummies ranges from 0.75 to 0.93. The support vector machine (SVM) model was developed and fitted to predict the echo energy in diverse environments. The mean average error (MAE) is 5.42–11.42 in the training and testing datasets while root mean square error (RMSE) is 0.43–0.90. Given that combination with multiple biomarkers may well raise the predictive value of wound age, it appears critically essential to identify new features under the limited cost. For this purpose, the present study explored whether the gene expression ratios provide unique time information as an additional indicator for wound age estimation not requiring the detection of new biomarkers and allowing full use of the available data. The expression levels of four wound-healing genes (Arid5a, Ier3, Stom, and Lcp1) were detected by real-time polymerase chain reaction, and a total of six expression ratios were calculated among these four genes. The results showed that the expression levels of four genes and six ratios of expression changed time-dependent during wound repair. The six expression ratios provided additional temporal information, distinct from the four genes analyzed separately by principal component analysis. The overall performance metrics for cross-validation and external validation of four typical prediction models were improved when six ratios of expression were added as additional input variables. Overall, expression ratios among genes provide temporal information and have excellent potential as predictive markers for wound age estimation. The 5d→4f transition of Ce3+ is allowed by the electric dipole and the parity selection rule and the position/intensity of the 5d excited state is strongly dependent on the materials’ composition and atomic structure. Herein, the composition‐dependent luminescence properties of Ce3+ in CsPbCl3‐xBrx (0 ≤ x ≤ 3) perovskite nanocrystals (PeNCs) are systematically revealed. It's observed that the 5d‐4f broadband emission of Ce3+ is greatly improved by optimizing the Cl:Br ratio due to the efficient energy transfer from excitons to Ce3+. Folic acid, a vitamin which is an extremely important cofactor, is introduced to regulate the film formation by interacting with uncoordinated ions. The modified CsPbCl1.5Br1.5 PeNCs with photoluminescence quantum yield of 91% represent a novel and extremely efficient white nanophosphor. Then, white light‐emitting diodes (WLEDs) are constructed by combining Ce3+‐doped PeNCs with 400‐nm ultraviolet chips with a luminous efficiency of 120.3 lm W−1, which is the most efficient perovskite single‐component WLED. Moreover, the blue‐violet LEDs are fabricated with external quantum efficiency of 0.84%, representing extremely high level of 400–435 nm perovskite LEDs. This work demonstrates the strategy in realizing high‐efficiency wavelength‐tunable PeNCs, motivating the further exploration of Ce3+‐doped perovskites in optoelectronic devices. Background: Numerous meta-analyses have explored the association between the triglyceride-glucose (TyG) index and diverse health outcomes, yet the comprehensive assessment of the scope, validity, and quality of this evidence remains incomplete. Our aim was to systematically review and synthesise existing meta-analyses of TyG index and health outcomes and to assess the quality of the evidence. Methods: A thorough search of PubMed, EMBASE, and Web of Science databases was conducted from their inception through to 8 April 2024. We assessed the quality of reviews using A Measurement Tool to Assess Systematic Reviews (AMSTAR) and the certainty of the evidence using the Grading of Recommendations, Assessment, Development and Evaluation (GRADE) system. This study was registered with PROSPERO (CRD: 42024518587). Results: Overall, a total of 95 associations from 29 meta-analyses were included, investigating associations between TyG index and 30 health outcomes. Of these, 83 (87.4%) associations were statistically significant (P < 0.05) according to the random effects model. Based on the AMSTAR tool, 16 (55.2%) meta-analyses were high quality and none was low quality. The certainty of the evidence, assessed by the GRADE framework, showed that 6 (6.3%) associations were supported by moderate-quality evidence. When compared with the lowest category of the TyG index, the risk of contrast-induced nephropathy (CIN) [relative risk (RR) = 2.25, 95%CI 1.82, 2.77], the risk of stroke in patients with diabetes mellitus (RR = 1.26, 95%CI 1.18, 1.33) or with acute coronary syndrome disease (RR = 1.56, 95%CI 1.06, 2.28), the prognosis of coronary artery disease (CAD)-non-fatal MI (RR = 2.02, 95%CI 1.32, 3.10), and the severity of CAD including coronary artery stenosis (RR = 3.49, 95%CI 1.71, 7.12) and multi-vessel CAD (RR = 2.33, 95%CI 1.59, 3.42) increased with high TyG index. Conclusion: We found that the TyG index was positively associated with many diseases including the risk of CIN and stroke, the prognosis of CAD, and the severity of CAD which were supported by moderate-quality evidence. Background: Numerous studies have been conducted to investigate the relationship between ABO and Rhesus (Rh) blood groups and various health outcomes. However, a comprehensive evaluation of the robustness of these associations is still lacking. Methods: We searched PubMed, Web of Science, Embase, Scopus, Cochrane, and several regional databases from their inception until Feb 16, 2024, with the aim of identifying systematic reviews with meta-analyses of observational studies exploring associations between ABO and Rh blood groups and diverse health outcomes. For each association, we calculated the summary effect sizes, corresponding 95% confidence intervals, 95% prediction interval, heterogeneity, small-study effect, and evaluation of excess significance bias. The evidence was evaluated on a grading scale that ranged from convincing (Class I) to weak (Class IV). We assessed the certainty of evidence according to the Grading of Recommendations Assessment, Development, and Evaluation criteria (GRADE). We also evaluated the methodological quality of included studies using the A Measurement Tool to Assess Systematic Reviews (AMSTAR). AMSTAR contains 11 items, which were scored as high (8–11), moderate (4–7), and low (0–3) quality. We have gotten the registration for protocol on the PROSPERO database (CRD42023409547). Results: The current umbrella review included 51 systematic reviews with meta-analysis articles with 270 associations. We re-calculated each association and found only one convincing evidence (Class I) for an association between blood group B and type 2 diabetes mellitus risk compared with the non-B blood group. It had a summary odds ratio of 1.28 (95% confidence interval: 1.17, 1.40), was supported by 6870 cases with small heterogeneity (I2 = 13%) and 95% prediction intervals excluding the null value, and without hints of small-study effects (P for Egger's test > 0.10, but the largest study effect was not more conservative than the summary effect size) or excess of significance (P < 0.10, but the value of observed less than expected). And the article was demonstrated with high methodological quality using AMSTAR (score = 9). According to AMSTAR, 18, 32, and 11 studies were categorized as high, moderate, and low quality, respectively. Nine statistically significant associations reached moderate quality based on GRADE. Conclusions: Our findings suggest a potential relationship between ABO and Rh blood groups and adverse health outcomes. The tiger nut (Cyperus esculentus L.) is a usable tuber and edible oil plant. The size of the tubers is a key trait that determines the yield and the mechanical harvesting of tiger nut tubers. However, little is known about the anatomical and molecular mechanisms of tuber expansion in tiger nut plants. This study conducted anatomical and comprehensive transcriptomics analyses of tiger nut tubers at the following days after sowing: 40 d (S1); 50 d (S2); 60 d (S3); 70 d (S4); 90 d (S5); and 110 d (S6). The results showed that, at the initiation stage of a tiger nut tuber (S1), the primary thickening meristem (PTM) surrounded the periphery of the stele and was initially responsible for the proliferation of parenchyma cells of the cortex (before S1) and then the stele (S2–S3). The increase in cell size of the parenchyma cells occurred mainly from S1 to S3 in the cortex and from S3 to S4 in the stele. A total of 12,472 differentially expressed genes (DEGs) were expressed to a greater extent in the S1–S3 phase than in S4–S6 phase. DEGs related to tuber expansion were involved in cell wall modification, vesicle transport, cell membrane components, cell division, the regulation of plant hormone levels, signal transduction, and metabolism. DEGs involved in the biosynthesis and the signaling of indole-3-acetic acid (IAA) and jasmonic acid (JA) were expressed highly in S1–S3. The endogenous changes in IAA and JAs during tuber development showed that the highest concentrations were found at S1 and S1–S3, respectively. In addition, several DEGs were related to brassinosteroid (BR) signaling and the G-protein, MAPK, and ubiquitin–proteasome pathways, suggesting that these signaling pathways have roles in the tuber expansion of tiger nut. Finally, we come to the conclusion that the cortex development preceding stele development in tiger nut tubers. The auxin signaling pathway promotes the division of cortical cells, while the jasmonic acid pathway, brassinosteroid signaling, G-protein pathway, MAPK pathway, and ubiquitin protein pathway regulate cell division and the expansion of the tuber cortex and stele. This study aims to elucidate the detailed metabolic implications of varying monacolin K levels and sterilization methods on Monascus‐fermented rice products (MFRPs), acclaimed for their health benefits and monacolin K content. Advanced metabolite profiling of various MFRP variants was conducted using ultrahigh‐performance liquid chromatography coupled with tandem time‐of‐flight mass spectrometry (UHPLC‐Q‐TOF MS). Statistical analysis encompassed t‐tests, ANOVA, and multivariate techniques including PCA, PLS‐DA, and OPLS‐DA. Notable variations in metabolites were observed across MFRPs with differing monacolin K levels, particularly in variants such as MR1‐S, MR1.5‐S, MR2‐S, and MR3‐S. Among the 524 identified metabolites, significant shifts were noted in organic acids, derivatives, lipids, nucleosides, and organic oxygen compounds. The study also uncovered distinct metabolic changes resulting from different sterilization methods and the use of highland barley as a fermentation substitute for rice. Pathway analysis shed light on affected metabolic pathways, including those involved in longevity regulation, cGMP‐PKG signaling, and the biosynthesis of unsaturated fatty acids. The research provides critical insights into the complex metabolic networks of MFRPs, underscoring the impact of fermentation substrates and conditions on monacolin K levels and their health implications. Gain medium‐doped active optical fibers for optical amplification and long‐range transmission have triggered a lot of researches. Traditional rare‐earth ion‐doped active fibers have non‐adjustable emissions, narrow band luminescence, limited gain enhancement, and other challenges. The unique optical properties of quantum dots (QDs) can further improve the doped optical fibers in the light amplification capacity, temperature sensitivity and to gain a broad‐spectrum coverage and lower laser threshold and other superiorities. However, there are few systematic discussions on the development of the technologies and applications of those QD‐doped optical fibers. In this review, the optical properties, temperature characteristics and optical amplification mechanisms of QD‐doped optical fibers are outlined. Then, the preparation technologies and the applications of QD‐doped optical fibers are highlighted. Quasi‐two‐dimensional (Quasi2D) perovskite materials gained widespread attention due to whose unique and highly desirable luminescence properties. However, the behavior of perovskite lightemitting diodes (PeLEDs) is prejudiced by inefficient cascading energy transfer of perovskite film and unbalanced charges injection. Here, ferrocene carboxylic acid (FcAd) is employed between hole transport layer (HTL) and perovskite layer as a molecular bridge to solve the current problems of PeLEDs. Ferrocene units can bond with [PbBr6]4−, forming one‐dimensional (1D) intermediate phases of FcPbBr3 at the interface, which can manipulate the growth kinetics of perovskite and reconstruct the phase distribution. Therefore, due to the suppression of low dimensional phase content, not only is the cascaded energy transfer of PEA2(CsPbBr3)2PbBr4 films effectively achieved, but also the quasi‐2D perovskite's work function is reduced. Additionally, Pb2+ coordinated with the carboxyl group of FcAd, inducing an electric dipole effect that leads to an further upward shift of the perovskite energy level. Eventually, the synergy achieves a significant tailoring between the perovskite and HTL energy exhibits the most excellent external quantum efficiency (EQE) exceeds 27% and optimal brightness exceeds 240000 cd m−2. Background: Apatinib is an oral small‐molecule tyrosine kinase inhibitor that blocks vascular endothelial growth factor receptor‐2. Oral vinorelbine is a semisynthetic chemotherapeutic agent of vinorelbine alkaloids. Apatinib and oral vinorelbine have been proved to be effective in the treatment of metastatic breast cancer (mBC). At present, several small sample clinical trials have explored the efficacy of apatinib combined with oral vinorelbine in the treatment of mBC. Methods: This retrospective study included 100 human epidermal growth factor receptor‐2 (HER2)‐negative mBC patients who received low‐dose apatinib (250 mg orally per day) plus oral vinorelbine until disease progression or intolerance during February 2017 and March 2023. The progression‐free survival (PFS), overall survival (OS), objective response rate (ORR), clinical benefit rate (CBR), disease control rate (DCR), and safety were analyzed by SPSS 26.0 software and GraphPad Prism 8 software. Cox proportional hazards regression model for univariate and multivariate was used to identify factors significantly related to PFS and OS. Results: The median follow‐up time for this study was 38.1 months. Among 100 patients with HER2‐negative mBC, 66 were hormone receptor (HR)‐positive/HER2‐negative and 34 were triple‐negative breast cancer (TNBC). The median PFS and OS were 6.0 months (95% CI, 5.2–6.8 months) and 23.0 months (95% CI, 19.9–26.1 months). There were no statistical differences in PFS (p = 0.239) and OS (p = 0.762) between the HR‐positive /HER2‐negative and TNBC subgroups. The ORR, CBR, and DCR were 21.0%, 58.0%, and 78.0%, respectively. Ninety‐five patients (95.0%) experienced varying grades of adverse events (AEs) and 38.0% of patients for Grades 3–4. The most common Grades 3–4 AEs that we observed were neutropenia (30.0%) and leukopenia (25.0%). Conclusion: Low‐dose apatinib combined with oral vinorelbine demonstrates potential efficacy and well tolerated for pretreated HER2‐negative mBC. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

This research aimed to investigate effects of different yeast culture (YC) levels on in vitro fermentation characteristics and bacterial and fungal community under high concentrate diet. A total of 5 groups were included in the experiment: control group without YC (CON), YC1 (0.5% YC proportion of substrate dry matter), YC2 (1%), YC3 (1.5%) and YC4 (2%). After 48 h of fermentation, the incubation fluids and residues were collected to analyze the ruminal fermentation parameters and bacterial and fungal community. Results showed that the ruminal fluid pH of YC2 and YC4 groups was higher (P < 0.05) than that of CON group. Compared with CON group, the microbial protein, propionate and butyrate concentrations and cumulative gas production at 48 h of YC2 group were significantly increased (P < 0.05), whereas an opposite trend of ammonia nitrogen and lactate was observed between two groups. Microbial analysis showed that the Chao1 and Shannon indexes of YC2 group were higher (P < 0.05) than those of CON group. Additionally, YC supplementation significantly decreased (P < 0.05) Succinivibrionaceae_UCG-001, Streptococcus bovis and Neosetophoma relative abundances. An opposite tendency of Aspergillus abundance was found between CON and YC treatments. Compared with CON group, the relative abundances of Prevotella, Succiniclasticum, Butyrivibrio and Megasphaera elsdenii were significantly increased (P < 0.05) in YC2 group, while Apiotrichum and unclassified Clostridiales relative abundances were decreased (P < 0.05). In conclusion, high concentrate substrate supplemented with appropriate YC (1%) can improve ruminal fermentation and regulate bacterial and fungal composition. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]
