Abstract Varroa destructor is one of the greatest threats to Apis mellifera worldwide and if left untreated will kill a colony in less than three years. A Varroa-resistant population from Gotland, Sweden, has managed to survive for 25 years with little to no Varroa treatment by reducing the mite’s reproductive success. The underlying mechanisms of this trait is currently not known, though previous research indicates that it is the honey bee brood, and not adult bee influence, that contributes to this phenotype. As the mite’s own reproduction is synchronized with the brood’s development though the interception of brood pheromones, it is possible that a change in pheromone profile would disrupt the mite’s reproductive timing. To investigate this, we characterized the brood ester pheromone (BEP) profile of our resistant Gotland population compared to a non-resistant control. This was done by extracting and analyzing key cuticular compounds of the BEP using gas chromatography. A significant difference was found immediately after brood capping, indicating a divergence in their pheromonal production at this time point. This is an important step to understanding the mechanisms of the Gotland population’s Varroa-resistance and contributes to our global understanding of Varroa destructor infestation and survival.

The issue of carbon emissions can be addressed through environmentally friendly technological innovations, which contribute to the journey towards achieving net-zero emissions (NZE). The electrification of transportation by converting internal combustion engine (ICE) motorcycles to converted electric motorcycles (CEM) directly reduces the number of pollution sources from fossil-powered motors. In Indonesia, numerous government regulations support the commercialization of the CEM system, including the requirement for conversion workshops to be formal entities in the CEM process. Every CEM must pass a test to ensure its safety and suitability. Currently, the CEM testing process is conducted at only one location, making it inefficient and inaccessible. Therefore, most conversion workshops in Indonesia need to take investment steps in procuring CEM-type test tools. This research aims to determine the best alternative from several investment alternatives for CEM-type test tools. In selecting the investment, three criteria are considered: costs, operations, and specifications. By using the investment decision-making model, a hierarchical decision-making model is obtained, which is then processed using the analytical hierarchy process (AHP) and the technique for order of preference by similarity to the ideal solution (TOPSIS). Criteria are weighted to establish a priority order. The final step involves ranking the alternatives and selecting Investment 2 (INV2) as the best investment tool with a relative closeness value of 0.6279. Investment 2 has the shortest time process (40 min), the lowest electricity requirement, and the smallest dimensions. The growing adoption of Building Information Modeling (BIM) within the architectural, engineering, and construction (AEC) sector raises questions about the quality of BIM data deliverables for project owners. Therefore, assessment and evaluation of such BIM data against relevant documents such as the BIM Execution Plan (BEP), the Level of Definition (LOD)/Level of Information (LOI) matrix, and quality control customized checklists become critical, especially in large construction projects. This study primarily aims to create an automated system for assessing the quality of 3D BIM model data, utilizing a proposed project quality control checklist. The automated system consists of four key elements: a BIM-based model, a Data Extraction and Analysis Module, a Data Storage Module, and a Data Visualization Module. The Data Extraction and Analysis Module extracts relevant information and parameters from BIM models to evaluate their quality against predefined checklists. Then, it transfers the information and stores the results in a database. The database is connected to an engineering project collaboration tool, ProjectWise, to automatically update and store the data in the cloud. The database is then connected to an interactive data visualization platform, Power BI, to enable automatic visualization of the generated quality assessment results of the BIM models' data. This system was applied to a Canadian infrastructure construction project by its BIM department during the preliminary and detailed design phases. It demonstrated an average quality score (AQS) of 87.6% for the BIM models and significantly reduced failing items by around 30%. This study concludes that the system offers a robust, practical solution for enhancing the quality control process in BIM model data management, thereby aiding engineers in timely model adjustments to meet project requirements. Contribution margin is the result of sales that have been reduced by all variable costs for production and marketing which can cover fixed costs and produce a profit in total per unit. This research aims to find out how to calculate the contribution margin and to be able to find out the contribution margin as a tool for profit planning. The method used in this research is a qualitative research method that uses a descriptive approach and data is also obtained from direct interviews and documentation. The research results show that the contribution margin of PT. Labiva Jaya Utama in 2020 amounted to IDR 79,760,000, in 2021 it amounted to IDR 87,850,000 and in 2022 it amounted to IDR 62,760,000. Objective: To evaluate oncologic (such as disease‐free and overall survival) and obstetric outcomes in patients diagnosed with malignant ovarian germ cell tumors (MOGCTs). Methods: Patients diagnosed with MOGCTs between March 2007 and February 2022 were evaluated and patients who underwent fertility sparing surgery were included in this retrospective study. The obstetric and oncologic outcomes were evaluated by collecting data up until the patient's last follow‐up visit from the hospital records and patient files. The study was approved by Başkent University Institutional Review Board (KA23/124). Results: Seventy FSS patients were included in this study. The median age of the patients was 22.5 years (range: 11–37). The median follow‐up time was 92.0 months (10–189). Immature teratoma was the most common histological subtype (32.9%). Bilateral involvement was detected in only one patient with immature teratoma (1.4%). The 5‐year DFS rates of immature teratoma, dysgerminoma, yolk sac, and mixed germ cell histologic types were 91.1%, 94.1%, 82.4%, and 88.9%, respectively (P: 0.716). The 5‐year OS rates of the same histologic types were 95.7%, 100%, 88.2%, and 88.9%, respectively (P = 0.487). All patients (100%) had a regular menstrual cycle after the completion of adjuvant treatment. The mean time between the last chemotherapy and menstruation was 4.38 months. To date, a total of 34 patients tried to conceive after the completion of disease treatment. A total of 23 (67.6%) patients conceived, resulting in 27 live births in 22 (100%) patients. Conclusion: Fertility preservation should be the first treatment option in MOGCTs in young patients due to the unilateral involvement of the disease and its chemosensitive nature. The availability of clean water is a complex and urgent problem. Water is a natural resource that is very important for human survival. The problem faced is that the clean water system in the area where residents live is not running smoothly. To overcome this, a good clean water distribution network and good clean water system management are needed and are able to serve the clean water needs of residents in the area. In order to make this happen, quite a large investment is needed. One of them is by carrying out company investment in the form of increasing the capacity of the raw water supply system. Based on the background mentioned, the title of this research is Feasibility Analysis of Investment in the Clean Water System of the Wae Mbeliling Drinking Water Company, Lembor District. The settlement method for this calculation is for Feasibility Investment Analysis using the Net Present Value (NPV) method and the Break Event Point (BEP) method. From the results of the analysis, an NPV value of Rp. 678,904,405,208 (NPV > 0). So the investment in developing the production capacity and clean water network of Perumda Air Minum Wae Mbeliling, Lembor District, is worth continuing. An NPV value that is positive or greater than (> 0) indicates that the income is greater than the value invested. It was found that the return value occurred in the 4th year by marking the accumulation of positive profits starting from the 4th year. This explains that the investment in replacing the clean water distribution network of Perumda Air Minum Wae Mbeliling, Lembor District is feasible, because there is a proven return on investment. from the BEP value for 1 year.

In this article, exact expressions are presented for the probability density function, cumulative distribution function, moment generating function, and higher-order moments of the instantaneous signal-to-noise ratio, considering the product and the sum of the products of $N$ $\alpha$-$\mathcal {F}$ variates with pointing errors. New expressions for the outage probability (OP), bit error probability (BEP), ergodic channel capacity, and the area under the receiver operating characteristics (AUC) are deduced, as well as the asymptotic ones. The obtained expressions are used to assess the influence of various channels and system parameters on the system performance. We analyze a scenario considering dual-hop terahertz links and another regarding reconfigurable intelligent surfaces (RIS)-assisted systems. All expressions derived in this work are new, and Monte Carlo simulations corroborate the analytical curves shown.

The concurrent use of bleomycin and granulocyte colony-stimulating factors (G-CSFs) has historically been debated as a risk factor for bleomycin-induced pulmonary toxicity in patients with both testicular cancer and Hodgkin's lymphoma. The purpose of this study is to evaluate the incidence of pulmonary toxicity in patients with testicular cancer who were treated with bleomycin and pegfilgrastim concurrently.This is a retrospective study that includes male patients over the age of 18 years old diagnosed with testicular cancer who received bleomycin-containing chemotherapy regimens with and without the use of G-CSF agents.There were a total of 33 patients identified as receiving bleomycin, with 30 of those patients having received concurrent G-CSF therapy. Of the patients who received G-CSF therapy, 11 patients (36.6%) experienced pulmonary toxicity leading to discontinuation of bleomycin or changes in chemotherapy regimens altogether.There were no major differences in patient demographics or risk factors between those who received G-CSF and developed pulmonary toxicity and those who received G-CSF but did not develop pulmonary toxicity. Further studies are needed in order to fully assess the risk of pulmonary toxicity with this chemotherapy regimen. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]
