Background: With the rapid improvement in healthcare technologies, the security and privacy of the most sensitive data are at risk. Patient privacy has many components, even when data are in electronic format. Although patient privacy has extensively been discussed in the literature, there is no study that has presented all components of patient privacy. Methods: This study presents a complete assessment framework, develops an inventory as an assessment tool, and examines the reliability and validity of the inventory. The study was carried out in three phases: conceptual framework development, inventory development, and an evaluation case study. Fuzzy conjoint analysis was used in the evaluation to deal with subjectivity and ambiguity. As a result of the evaluation, the case study institution was given a patient privacy maturity level between 1 and 5, where 1 is the worst and 5 is the best. Results: The case study evaluated the largest hospital in Turkey, which employs 800 nurses. Half of the nurses, 400, participated in the study. According to the literature, healthcare institutions do not invest enough in protecting patients' privacy, and the results of the study support this finding. The institution's maturity level was 2, which is poor. Conclusions: This study measured privacy maturity with many assessment components. The result of the assessment explains to patients and the public whether their data are secure or not. With the implementation of this maturity level, patients have an idea about which institution to choose, and the public can infer the reliability of institutions in terms of patient privacy. This study examines the effect of the ethical climate on job satisfaction in the nursing profession and how this effect occurs through trust in colleagues. A survey design was used to collect data from 407 nurses working in hospitals in Mersin City, Turkey. The study used self-report questionnaires to measure the ethical climate, job satisfaction, and trust. The data were analyzed using SPSS 22 software, which incorporated confirmatory factor analysis to assess construct validity and the bootstrap method to examine mediation effects. Ethical protocols were rigorously observed. The study clearly demonstrated a significant positive relationship between the ethical climate and job satisfaction. The trust variable fully mediates the relationship between the ethical climate and job satisfaction. The findings make a strong case for the importance of an ethical climate in nursing, synthesizing findings from the previous literature. The findings of this study demonstrate the necessity of assessing different attitudes and behaviors in order to promote expected behaviors in the unique and intense working environment of nurses. These behaviors may diverge from theoretical predictions. The results of this study also revealed that an ethical climate and positive work attitudes among nurses have a significant effect on job satisfaction, which is an important input for productivity. Background: This study aims to investigate the relationship between burnout levels among intensive care unit (ICU) nurses, turnover intention, and the mediating role of psychological resilience., Methods: This survey design was used to collect data from 228 ICU nurses from hospitals in Turkey. The study utilized self-report questionnaires to measure burnout levels, turnover intention, and psychological resilience. The data were analyzed through structural equation modeling., Results: In the study, a positive relationship between burnout and turnover intention and burnout and psychological resilience is significant ( p ≤ 0.001). However, psychological resilience was not found to have a mediating role, indicating that other factors or variables may play a more substantial role in the relation found between burnout and turnover intention. Also, the research model's Standardized Root Mean Square Residual is expected to be less than 0.10 for the model to have an acceptable fit., Conclusion: The findings suggest that levels of burnout among ICU nurses may have significant consequences on turnover intention. However, promoting resilience cannot help diminish the negative effects of burnout on turnover intention. The findings highlight the importance of burnout levels in nursing by synthesizing findings from the previous literature. Then, focusing on the concepts of turnover intention and psychological resilience, it explains the importance of these concepts in the Intensive Care Unit nurses and their relationships with each other.

Background and Purpose: The Physician and Nurse Brain Drain Attitude Scale measures healthcare professionals' attitudes toward brain drain, which affects healthcare systems in developing countries. Methods: The scale was developed using the methodologies proposed by Timothy R. Hinkin and Robert F. DeVellis, including qualitative research, expert evaluations, and exploratory and confirmatory factor analyses, with a sample of physicians and nurses from İzmir, Türkiye. Results: The scale comprises two factors: push and pull factors, demonstrating high reliability and confirmed validity through statistical tests indicating good fit and discriminant validity. Negative attitudes toward brain drain were linked to lower job satisfaction. Conclusions: This validated scale provides a crucial tool for understanding healthcare professionals' perspectives on migration and its contributing factors., (© 2024 Springer Publishing Company.)
