This study focuses on the issue of gas overflow encountered during the mining of coal seams at the Anshun coal mine. Initially, a mechanical model is constructed to analyze the displacement and vertical stress distribution in the upper neighboring coal seam following the mining of the protective seam in the field. Subsequently, similar indoor simulation experiments, utilizing the digital image correlation method, are conducted to examine the evolution characteristics of the overlying rock strain during the back mining process of the lower protective seam. Numerical simulation is then employed to analyze the plastic zone, stress distribution, and evolution characteristics of the overlying coal seam during the recovery of the lower protective layer. The study finally investigates the unloading effect of the top plate and the permeability characteristics of the protected layer. The results demonstrate that the maximum main strain concentration area in the overlying rock increases as the working face progresses, transferring asymmetrically from the middle of the mining area to the cuthole side and the working face side, with the concentration on the cuthole side being notably larger. As the lower protective layer advances, the unloading range, unloading height, stress concentration area, peak value, and unloading coefficient are observed to increase gradually before stabilizing. The numerical simulation reveals a predominance of shear damage around the mining area, where high permeability facilitates gas flow. Additionally, the collapsed gangue in the mining area's center is recompacted, leading to reduced porosity and permeability. Stress concentration is noted on both sides of the coal seam, resulting in high stress at both ends and low stress in the middle of the unloading area. Furthermore, the permeability coefficient growth rate diminishes with the advancement of the lower protection layer, exhibiting negative growth in some areas, while the permeability coefficient in the unloading area remains high at the late stage of workface recovery, thereby constituting an efficient gas extraction zone. Background: Psychosocial function of Chinese temporomandibular disorders (TMD) pain patients and the correlation with somatosensory function has not been sufficiently studied. Objective: The study aims at assessing the psychosocial function of Chinese TMD pain patients by visualisation method and evaluating the correlations with somatosensory function quantitatively. Methods: The Symptom Checklist 90 (SCL‐90) questionnaire and standardised quantitative sensory testing (QST) were administered to 70 Chinese TMD pain patients and age‐ and gender‐matched healthy controls (HCs). Of these, 40 TMD arthralgia patients received QST before and after medication. Psychosocial and somatosensory parameters were transformed into standardised scores. Differences within groups were assessed through t tests. Correlations between psychosocial and somatosensory profiles were explored through correlation analyses with Bonferroni correction for multiple comparisons. Results: 100% of the Chinese TMD pain patients exhibited psychosocial distress in contrast to HCs. Anger and hostility showed negative correlation with the thermal nonnociceptive parameter (thermal sensory limen, p =.002) and nociceptive parameters (cold pain threshold and pain pressure threshold, p<.001). Correlation analysis indicated that cold detection threshold was negatively correlated with somatization and mechanical pain sensitivity had a negative correlation with anger and hostility through medical treatment (p <.001). Conclusions: Visual psychosocial profiles provided an easy overview of psychosocial function in Chinese TMD pain patients. Anger and hostility was associated with increased thermal nonnociceptive and nociceptive sensitivity to stimuli. To understand the effect of the spontaneous imbibition (SI) and waterflooding on oil recovery in the tight sandstone reservoirs, we selected three pairs of tight sandstone samples from the Ordos Basin in China to conduct the SI-plus-waterflooding and waterflooding-only experiments, and monitor the oil distribution and flow characteristics by using the low-field nuclear magnetic resonance (NMR) technology. One interesting observation was that oil extracted in the SI process mainly comes from macropores and micropores, which doesn't agree with the previous results wherein oil was produced from micropores, and oil was produced from the mesopores during the waterflooding after the SI process. The oil recovery factor of tight sandstone samples in the process of the SI-plus-waterflooding was more than 50%, and even more than 85%, which was greater than that in the waterflooding-only process. Moreover, we found that our tight sandstone samples behaved lower residual oil saturation, and wider oil-water two-phase co-flow region during the SI-plus-waterflooding process than that did during the waterflooding-only process. These differences in behavior appear to be linked to the fluid dynamic characteristics and capillary pressure acting on the flow fluid during the two processes. Contractors' low-carbon construction behaviors (CLCB) are pivotal in advancing decarbonization during the construction phase. However, there exists a notable gap in the comprehensive exploration of the multifaceted factors and mechanisms influencing CLCB. Therefore, this study aims to systematically identify the factors influencing CLCB in China, examine the interrelationships among these factors, and pinpoint the key determinants. Based on topic modeling of Latent Dirichlet Allocation (LDA), influencing factors are identified firstly from the pertinent literature. Subsequently, the causality degree and centrality degree between these factors are assessed by the Decision-Making Trial and Evaluation Laboratory (DEMATEL), followed by the establishment of a hierarchical structure using the Interpretive Structural Modeling (ISM) method, culminating in the identification of pivotal factors. Findings reveal that (1) 21 influential factors influencing CLCB are identified. (2) "Incentive policies for relevant stakeholders" and "Low-carbon regulation and supervision" emerge as key influences. (3) CLCB should be guided by policy and subjective awareness, fortified by market and management support, underpinned by technology, and directly driven by economic considerations. This research furnishes valuable insights for promoting low-carbon development during the construction phase, thereby assisting the construction sector in achieving carbon peak and carbon neutrality. To revise the Parental Autonomy Support Scale (PASS) and to validate its psychometric properties in Chinese college students, this study recruited 738 Chinese college students, with 72 of them retested four weeks later. The Parental Psychological Control Scale (PPCS) and the Self-Esteem Scale (RSES) were used to evaluate the validity of the PASS. Results showed that the revised PASS contained a total of nine items measuring three dimensions: autonomous decision-making, transpositional thinking, and willingness to respect. Results showed that the three-factor ESEM model fitted the data well (TLI = 0.981, CFI = 0.994, RMSEA = 0.046). The PASS showed a significant negative correlation between the total score of the PASS and the total score of the PPCS (r = −0.344, p <.001), and a significant positive correlation of the PASS with the total score of the RSES (r = 0.297, p <.001). The composite reliability coefficient was 0.913 for the total score. The test-retest reliability coefficients were 0.827 for the total score and ranged from 0.626 to 0.744 for the three dimensions. The revised PASS is shown to have sound psychometric properties and thus can be used as a tool to measure the level of parental autonomy support among Chinese college students. AbstractThis paper investigates the impact of China’s value-added tax (VAT) expansion reform on specialization using data sourced from listed companies. Through an examination of changes in business scope and revenue, two significant findings emerge. First, certain companies extend their services beyond internal use, aiming to boost sales during the post-reform period. This expansion is evident in the changes observed in the business scope matrix. Second, certain service providers experience a significant revenue increase as they attract outsourced orders from manufacturers affected by the reform. The disaggregated analysis of the three sectors involved in the VAT expansion reform further substantiates these findings. Moreover, we rule out tax avoidance as a motive by evaluating actual changes in tax burden, as opposed to projected burdens. Conducting this research contributes to a deeper understanding of the correlation between atmospheric environmental quality and lung cancer incidence, and provides the scientific basis for formulating effective environmental protection and lung cancer prevention and control strategies. Lung cancer incidence in China has strong spatial variation. However, few studies have systematically revealed the characteristics of the spatial variation in lung cancer incidence, and have explained the causes of this spatial variation in lung cancer incidence from the perspectives of multiple components of the atmospheric environment to explain this spatial variation in lung cancer incidence. To address research limitations, we first analyze the spatial variation and spatial correlation characteristics of lung cancer incidence in China. Then, we build a spatial regression model using GeoDa software with lung cancer incidence as the dependent variable, five atmospheric environment factors—particulate matter 2.5 (PM2.5) concentration, temperature, atmospheric pressure, and elevation as explanatory variables, and four socio-economic characteristics as control variables to systematically analyze the influence and intensity of these factors on lung cancer incidence. The results show that lung cancer incidence in China has apparent changes in geographical and spatial unevenness, and spatial autocorrelation characteristics. In China, the lung cancer incidence is relatively high in Northeast China, while some areas of high lung cancer incidence still exist in Central China, Southwest China and South China, although the overall lung cancer incidence is relatively low. The atmospheric environment significantly affects lung cancer incidence. Different elements of the atmospheric environment vary in the direction and extent of their influence on the development of lung cancer. A 1% increase in PM2.5 concentration is associated with a level of 0.002975 increase in lung cancer incidence. Atmospheric pressure positively affects lung cancer incidence, and an increase in atmospheric pressure by 1% increases lung cancer incidence by a level of 0.026061. Conversely, a 1% increase in temperature is linked to a level of 0.006443 decreases in lung cancer incidence, and a negative correlation exists between elevation and lung cancer incidence, where an increase in elevation by 1% correlates with a decrease in lung cancer incidence by a level of 0.000934. The core influencing factors of lung cancer incidence in the seven geographical divisions of China exhibit variations. This study facilitates our understanding of the spatial variation characteristics of lung cancer incidence in China on a finer scale, while also offering a more diverse perspective on the impact of the atmospheric environment on lung cancer incidence. Objective: This study aimed to explore the impact of sarcopenia on clinical outcomes after percutaneous kyphoplasty (PKP) for osteoporotic vertebral compression fracture (OVCF). Methods: We retrospectively analyzed the medical records of patients with single-segment OVCF who underwent percutaneous kyphoplasty (PKP) between September 2021 and August 2022. Patients were categorized into a sarcopenia group (43 patients) and a non-sarcopenia group (125 patients) based on their Advanced Skeletal Muscle Index (ASMI). Clinical and radiological data were collected and analyzed. Results: There were no significant differences between the sarcopenia and non-sarcopenia groups in age, sex, bone mineral density (BMD), body mass index (BMI), fractured segment, fracture type, surgical approach, bone cement volume, bone cement distribution, comorbidities, preoperative and immediate postoperative VAS and ODI scores (P >.05). However, the time to ambulation, hospital stays, VAS and ODI scores at follow-up, excellent/good rate, and the incidence of residual pain and re-fractures in the non-sarcopenia group were significantly better than those in the sarcopenia group (P <.05). Meanwhile, radiological outcomes, including regional kyphosis and vertebral height loss rate, were significantly better in the non-sarcopenia group than in the sarcopenia group at 6 and 12 month follow-ups (P <.05). Conclusion: Clinical outcomes after PKP in patients with OVCF could be negatively affected by sarcopenia. Suicide has been recognized as a major global public health issue. Depressed adolescents are more prone to experiencing it. We explore risk factors and their differences on suicidal ideation and suicide attempts to further enhance our understanding of suicidal behavior. 2343 depressed adolescents aged 12–18 from 9 provinces/cities in China participated in this cross-sectional study. We utilized decision tree model, incorporating 32 factors encompassing participants' suicidal behavior. The feature importance of each factor was measured using Gini coefficients. The decision tree model demonstrated a good fit with high accuracy (SI = 0.86, SA = 0.85 and F-Score (SI = 0.85, SA = 0.83). The predictive importance of each factor varied between groups with suicidal ideation and with suicide attempts. The most significant risk factor in both groups was depression (SI = 16.7 %, SA = 19.8 %). However, factors such as academic stress (SI = 7.2 %, SA = 1.6 %), hopelessness (SI = 9.1 %, SA = 5.0 %), and age (SI = 7.1 %, SA = 3.2 %) were more closely associated with suicidal ideation than suicide attempts. Factors related to the schooling status (SI = 3.5 %, SA = 10.1 %), total years of education (SI = 2.6 %, SA = 8.6 %), and loneliness (SI = 2.3 %, SA = 7.4 %) were relatively more important in the suicide attempt stage compared to suicidal ideation. The cross-sectional design limited the ability to capture changes in suicidal behavior among depressed adolescents over time. Possible bias may exist in the measurement of suicidal ideation. The relative importance of each risk factor for suicidal ideation and attempted suicide varies. These findings provide further empirical evidence for understanding suicide behavior. Objective: To explore the change trends in incidence and leading factors to peripartum hysterectomy (PH) at a regional tertiary medical center in northeast China. Methods: This was a retrospective observational study of all PH cases conducted at Shengjing Hospital between January 1, 2012 and December 31, 2021. Information on maternal characteristics of pregnancy and delivery, indications of PH, inventions before hysterectomy, complications, and maternal and neonatal outcomes obtained from the Shengjing Hospital Information System were analyzed. Results: Among a total of 157 553 deliveries, there were 127 cases of PH (overall PH incidence: 0.85/1000 deliveries); 120 patients (94.49%) underwent hysterectomy after cesarean section, and seven (5.51%) underwent vaginal delivery (P < 0.001). Abnormal placentation was the leading indication for PH (101, 79.53%), including placenta previa (PP) with placenta accreta spectrum (PAS) (93, 73.23%), PP alone (5, 3.94%), and PAS alone (3, 2.36%). Among the patients who underwent PH with abnormal placentation, 92.08% had at least one cesarean section (P < 0.001) and 20.19% had bladder injury (P = 0.044). All maternal deaths (n = 2) occurred in referral patients, and the maternal mortality rate was 1.57/100 hysterectomies. Conclusion: Abnormal placentation was the primary indication for PH. For such patients, adequate assessment of their condition and complete communication are strongly recommended. The identification of high‐risk groups for postpartum hemorrhage, timely and effective rescue, and referral are equally important for avoiding PH. The purpose of the present research is to study the impact of innovative educational strategies of vocal training on the development of creativity and motivation among students. The present study builds on an empirical approach. It involved 86 first-year undergraduate students in the Department of solo singing, Institute of Music, Henan University, Kaifeng, Henan, China. It is significant to mention that the students were chosen randomly. The study covers the period of an academic semester. The study participants underwent training using innovative pedagogical methods of personality-oriented learning. The response of dryland vegetation to climate change is particularly sensitive in the context of global climate change. This paper analyzes the characteristics of spatial and temporal dynamics of vegetation cover in the Tarim River Basin, China, and its driving factors in order to investigate the response of vegetation growth to water storage changes in the basin. The Enhanced Vegetation Index (EVI), the GRACE gravity satellite, and meteorological data from 2002 to 2022 are used to decipher the characteristics of the response of water storage changes to vegetation changes, which is of great significance to the realization of regional ecological development and sustainable development. The results of the study show the following: (1) The vegetation in the Tarim River Basin has an overall increasing trend, which is mainly distributed in the Aksu Basin and the Weigangkuche River Basin and is spatially distributed in the form of a ring. (2) Vegetation distribution greatly improved during the 20-year study period, dominated by high-cover vegetation, with a change rate of 200.36%. Additionally, vegetation changes are centered on the watersheds and expand to the surrounding area, with a clear increase in vegetation in the Kumukuri Basin. Areas with a vegetation Hurst index of <0.5 account for 63.27% of the study area, and the areas with a continuous decrease were mainly located in the outer contour area of the Tarim River and Kumu Kuri Basins. (3) There are obvious spatial differences in the correlation between EVI and temperature and precipitation elements. The proportion of areas with positive correlation with temperature within the study area is 64.67%. EVI tends to be consistent with the direction of migration of the center of gravity of the population and GDP, and the areas with positive correlation between vegetation and terrestrial water reserves are mainly distributed in the northern slopes of the Kunlun Mountains, with an area proportion of about 50.513%. Simple Summary: Bordetella bronchiseptica (B. bronchiseptica) is a severe zoonotic pathogen widespread in aquaculture environments. However, information on the distribution and resistance of this pathogen remains scarce in pig farms. This study isolated and analyzed B. bronchiseptica from pig farms in central China and revealed a high frequency of resistance to this pathogen, with most strains forming biofilms. In addition, a B. bronchiseptica strain with a heteroresistant phenotype to gentamicin was isolated, which is a rare case and requires vigilance. This study enhances our understanding of the biological characteristics, such as the distribution and resistance, of B. bronchiseptica in pig farms in central China. This can provide valuable data for future related research and pathogen prevention and control. Bordetella bronchiseptica is a significant contributor to respiratory disease in pigs, leading to substantial economic losses in the swine industry worldwide. We isolated 52 B. bronchiseptica strains from 542 samples collected from pigs with atrophic rhinitis and bronchopneumonia in central China. Multi-locus sequence typing identified two prevalent sequence types: ST6 (69.23%) and ST7 (30.77%). PCR-based detection of seven virulence genes (fhaB, prn, cyaA, dnt, bteA, fla, and bfrZ) revealed that six of these genes were present in over 90% of the isolates, with bfrZ being the exception at 59.62%. Antimicrobial susceptibility testing, performed using the K-B method, demonstrated high sensitivity to enrofloxacin, polymyxin, and doxycycline but a notable resistance to tylosin, trimethoprim, tobramycin, ciprofloxacin, and amikacin. Remarkably, 86.54% of the isolates exhibited a multidrug-resistant phenotype. Notably, we successfully screened a strain of B. bronchiseptica with a heteroresistance phenotype to gentamicin using population analysis profiling, which is a rare case. Biofilm-formation assays indicated that 96.15% of the isolates possessed biofilm-forming capabilities. These findings provide crucial insights into the prevalence of B. bronchiseptica in central China, facilitating the development of effective preventive measures to safeguard both animal and human health. Background: Non‐anemic thalassemia trait (TT) accounted for a high proportion of TT cases in South China. Objective: To use artificial intelligence (AI) analysis of erythrocyte morphology and machine learning (ML) to identify TT gene carriers in a non‐anemic population. Methods: Digital morphological data from 76 TT gene carriers and 97 controls were collected. The AI technology‐based Mindray MC‐100i was used to quantitatively analyze the percentage of abnormal erythrocytes. Further, ML was used to construct a prediction model. Results: Non‐anemic TT carriers accounted for over 60% of the TT cases. Random Forest was selected as the prediction model and named TT@Normal. The TT@Normal algorithm showed outstanding performance in the training, validation, and external validation sets and could efficiently identify TT carriers in the non‐anemic population. The top three weights in the TT@Normal model were the target cells, microcytes, and teardrop cells. Elevated percentages of abnormal erythrocytes should raise a strong suspicion of being a TT gene carrier. TT@Normal could be promoted and used as a visualization and sharing tool. It is accessible through a URL link and can be used by medical staff online to predict the possibility of TT gene carriage in a non‐anemic population. Conclusions: The ML‐based model TT@Normal could efficiently identify TT carriers in non‐anemic people. Background: Thyroid nodule (TN) patients in China are subject to overdiagnosis and overtreatment. The implementation of existing technologies such as thyroid ultrasonography has indeed contributed to the improved diagnostic accuracy of TNs. However, a significant issue persists, where many patients undergo unnecessary biopsies, and patients with malignant thyroid nodules (MTNs) are advised to undergo surgery therapy. Methods: This study included a total of 293 patients diagnosed with TNs. Differential methylation haplotype blocks (MHBs) in blood leukocytes between MTNs and benign thyroid nodules (BTNs) were detected using reduced representation bisulfite sequencing (RRBS). Subsequently, an artificial intelligence blood leukocyte DNA methylation (BLDM) model was designed to optimize the management and treatment of patients with TNs for more effective outcomes. Results: The DNA methylation profiles of peripheral blood leukocytes exhibited distinctions between MTNs and BTNs. The BLDM model we developed for diagnosing TNs achieved an area under the curve (AUC) of 0.858 in the validation cohort and 0.863 in the independent test cohort. Its specificity reached 90.91% and 88.68% in the validation and independent test cohorts, respectively, outperforming the specificity of ultrasonography (43.64% in the validation cohort and 47.17% in the independent test cohort), albeit with a slightly lower sensitivity (83.33% in the validation cohort and 82.86% in the independent test cohort) compared to ultrasonography (97.62% in the validation cohort and 100.00% in the independent test cohort). The BLDM model could correctly identify 89.83% patients whose nodules were suspected malignant by ultrasonography but finally histological benign. In micronodules, the model displayed higher specificity (93.33% in the validation cohort and 92.00% in the independent test cohort) and accuracy (88.24% in the validation cohort and 87.50% in the independent test cohort) for diagnosing TNs. This performance surpassed the specificity and accuracy observed with ultrasonography. A TN diagnostic and treatment framework that prioritizes patients is provided, with fine-needle aspiration (FNA) biopsy performed only on patients with indications of MTNs in both BLDM and ultrasonography results, thus avoiding unnecessary biopsies. Conclusions: This is the first study to demonstrate the potential of non-invasive blood leukocytes in diagnosing TNs, thereby making TN diagnosis and treatment more efficient in China. Nitrogen (N) and phosphorus (P) are the two most important macronutrients supporting forest growth. Unprecedented urbanization has created growing areas of urban forests that provide key ecosystem services for city dwellers. However, the large‐scale patterns of soil N and P content remain poorly understood in urban forests. Based on a systematic soil survey in urban forests from nine large cities across eastern China, we examined the spatial patterns and key drivers of topsoil (0–20 cm) total N content, total P content, and N:P ratio. Topsoil total N content was found to change significantly with latitude in the form of an inverted parabolic curve, while total P content showed an opposite latitudinal pattern. Variance partition analysis indicated that regional‐scale patterns of topsoil total N and P contents were dominated by climatic drivers and partially regulated by time and pedogenic drivers. Conditional regression analyses showed a significant increase in topsoil total N content with lower mean annual temperature (MAT) and higher mean annual precipitation (MAP), while topsoil total P content decreased significantly with higher MAP. Topsoil total N content also increased significantly with the age of urban park and varied with pre‐urban soil type, while no such effects were found for topsoil total P content. Moreover, topsoil N:P ratio showed a latitudinal pattern similar to that of topsoil total N content and also increased significantly with lower MAT and higher MAP. Our findings demonstrate distinct latitudinal trends of topsoil N and P contents and highlight a dominant role of climatic drivers in shaping the large‐scale patterns of topsoil nutrients in urban forests. BACKGROUND: Qizha Shuangye granules (QSG) comprise six traditional Chinese herbal medicines (TCHMs), which have a long history of treating hyperlipidemia (HLP) in China. This study aimed to evaluate the potential lipid‐lowering effects of QSG in an HLP rat model and investigate possible mechanisms. The HLP rat model was induced by a high‐fat diet. Lipid‐related indicators in serum were detected. Serum and liver metabolites were investigated using a liquid chromatography–mass spectrometry‐based metabolomics approach. A herb–compound–target–metabolite (H‐C‐T‐M) network was further constructed to reveal the possible molecular mechanism of QSG to alleviate HLP. RESULTS: The administration of QSG inhibited the HLP‐induced changes in total cholesterol, triglyceride, low‐density lipoprotein cholesterol, high‐density lipoprotein cholesterol, and non‐esterified fatty acid (NEFA) levels. Additionally, QSG significantly attenuated the liver histopathological changes induced by HLP. Metabolomic analysis showed the serum and liver metabolic disorders presented in HLP rats. QSG can reverse the abnormal metabolism caused by HLP. The reservoir in the Anyue gas field, located in the Sichuan basin of China, belongs to the second member of the Dengying formation and has distinctive geological features. It is characterized by strong heterogeneity, low porosity, low permeability, and locally developed natural fractures. The reservoir space consists primarily of corrosion holes, natural fractures, and similar voids. Moreover, the lower reservoir exhibits high water saturation and a homogeneous bottom-water interface. Since it is a carbonate-based hydrocarbon reservoir with low porosity and permeability, deep acid fracturing has proven to be an efficient method for enhancing individual well production. However, the reconstruction of the second member of the Dengying formation reservoir poses significant challenges. The reservoir contains high-angle natural fractures, small vertical stress differences, and is located in close proximity to the gas–water interface. As a result, it becomes difficult to control the height of the acid break. Improper acid break treatment may easily result in water production affecting gas well production. To explore ways to control the longitudinal extension of acid fractures, 3D numerical models focusing on the initiation and expansion of acid fractures have been developed. This model takes into account geological and engineering factors such as stress differences, acid fracture displacements and scales, and their effects on the longitudinal extension of acid fractures. It was revealed that the pressure difference is the main controlling factor for the acid fracture height, followed by the reservoir thickness, the interlayer thickness, and the viscosity of the working fluid. Technical countermeasures for controlled fracture and high-acid fracturing tailored to different reservoir characteristics have been proposed, and design parameters for controlled fracture and high-acid fracturing can be optimized. By effectively controlling the vertical extension of the acid fracture, it is possible to maximize production from a single well while avoiding interference from the lower water layer. X-ray diffraction (XRD) is extensively used in archaeometric investigation. Herein, we provide a novel XRD spectrum-based untargeted strategy for the classification of ancient painted pottery for various dynasties. It was accomplished using the original spectrum without a phase identification. To eliminate the influence of baseline drift, a new baseline drift correction algorithm was specifically designed for XRD spectra. The algorithm was implemented using local minimum values in the analyzed signal in an iterative optimization manner. The results indicated that with the aid of the algorithm, the baseline drift problem can be successfully resolved, and the classification of ancient painted pottery can be greatly improved. Finally, the developed strategy was successfully used to discriminate ancient painted pottery from the Han and Tang dynasties in the cities of Guyuan and Zhongwei, China. The occurrence of root-knot nematode disease has seriously constrained the development of the Chinese herbal medicine industry. China is one of the largest producers of Polygonatum sibiricum and Peucedanum praeruptorum in the world, but the unidentified root-knot nematodes have become important pests of these two Chinese herbal medicines in China. Both morphological characteristics and molecular identification were used to identify the nematodes. The identification results showed that Meloidogyne incognita and M. arenaria were the causal species of root-knot nematode infection in P. sibiricum, and M. hapla was the causal species of the infection in P. praeruptorum. Through investigation, this is the first report of M. incognita and M. arenaria infecting P. sibiricum, and M. hapla infecting P. praeruptorum, in China. Objective: This study aims to investigate the relationship between psychological resilience, thriving at work, and work performance among nurses, as well as analyse the mediating role of thriving at work in the relationship between psychological resilience and the work performance of nurses. The findings are intended to serve as a reference for nursing managers to design tailored work performance intervention programs. Method: Using convenience sampling, 308 clinical nurses were selected from a tertiary hospital in Changsha City, Hunan Province, China, from February to April 2023. The Connor–Davidson Resilience Scale (CD-RISC), the Thriving at Work Scale, and the Work Performance Scale were employed for the questionnaire survey. Pearson correlation analysis was used to explore the relationship between psychological resilience, thriving at work and work performance. The SPSS 26.0 software's 'Process' plugin was utilised for mediation effect analysis. Results: Significantly positive correlations were found between psychological resilience and thriving at work (r = 0.806, P < 0.01), thriving at work and work performance (r = 0.571, P < 0.01) as well as psychological resilience and work performance (r = 0.572, P < 0.01). Psychological resilience significantly predicted work performance positively (β = 0.558, t = 11.165, P < 0.01), and this prediction remained significant when thriving at work (the mediating variable), was introduced (β = 0.371, t = 4.772, P < 0.01). Psychological resilience significantly predicted thriving at work positively (β = 0.731, t = 20.779, P < 0.01), and thriving at work significantly predicted work performance positively (β = 0.256, t = 3.105, P < 0.05). The mediating effect size of thriving at work between psychological resilience and work performance was 33.49% (P < 0.05). Conclusion: Thriving at work plays a partial mediating role between psychological resilience and work performance. The level of work performance among clinical nurses was relatively high. Nursing managers can enhance thriving at work by fostering psychological resilience among clinical nurses, thereby further improving their work performance to ensure high-quality and efficient nursing care. Seasonal delta is a sandy fan-shaped sedimentary system formed by seasonal river flooding in continental basins. Modern sedimentary finds that seasonal deltas mainly develop in an arid-semi-arid climate environment with gentle terrain. However, the study of seasonal deltas in ancient rock records is still insufficient, leading to misinterpretations as other sedimentary systems, which poses challenges to the correct understanding of the origin and spatial distribution of sand body deposits. In this study, the red bed deposits of the Cretaceous Baxigai Formation in the west of the Tabei Uplift were selected as the research object. Based on core observation and description, a comprehensive analysis of the sedimentary environment, sedimentary characteristics and sedimentary model of the Baxigai Formation was carried out using data such as well-logging and analytical testing, combined with modern depositional characteristics. Research shows that the sedimentary sequence of the Baxigai Formation red bed developed a seasonal delta sedimentary system in the arid climate. The seasonal delta deposits provide an opportunity to understand the influencing of river flow and total sedimentary loading vary greatly on the sedimentary model, sedimentary mechanism, and distribution of sand bodies in arid climates. The sedimentary process of the seasonal delta in the Baxigai Formation was controlled by the dual-stage sedimentation process in an arid paleoclimate. During the flood period, the supercritical flow sedimentary structures are widely developed in the major distributary channels, and the distributary channels migrate and bifurcate frequently. On the delta plain, crevasse channels are formed through the avulsion of major distributary channels. During the dry period, due to the consumption of water seepage and evaporation transfer, terminal distributary channels are abandoned, crevasse channels are not developed, and the sediment is exposed. The density of the distributary channels is reduced, and the total sedimentary loading is low. The distributary channels sand body is the skeleton sand body of the seasonal delta. This study is of great significance for accurately explaining the formation process of seasonal deltas and provides a useful reference for further exploration and deployment of oil and gas reservoirs and paleogeographic reconstruction in the study area. Autologous stem cell transplantation (ASCT) is a salvage therapy for relapsed or refractory diffuse large B-cell lymphoma (DLBCL). We have developed a novel conditioning regimen called CEAC (oral semustine 250 mg/m2 d-6, etoposide 300 mg/m2 d-5 ~ d-2, cytarabine 500 mg/m2 d-5 ~ d-2, and cyclophosphamide 1200 mg/m2 d-5 ~ d-2) In lymphoma patients in China. Here, we conducted a study to compare the conventional BEAM regimen with the CEAC regimen in 110 DLBCL patients. Propensity-score matching was performed in a 1:4 ratio (22 patients received BEAM and 88 received CEAC). Our results showed no significant difference in the overall response rate (95% vs 97%, P = 1.000) and complete response rate (66% vs 73%, P = 0.580) between the two cohorts. The 5-year progression-free survival (PFS), 5-year overall survival (OS), and 5-year cumulative incidence of relapse (CIR) for all patients were 72% (95% CI 62%–82%), 92% (95% CI 86%–97%), and 29% (95% CI 17%–38%), respectively. There was no significant difference in the 5-year PFS (80% vs 70%, P = 0.637), 5-year OS (95% vs 91%, P = 0.496), and 5-year CIR (20% vs 30%, P = 0.733) between cohorts. In terms of safety, the CEAC cohort had a lower incidence rate of grade 1–2 gastrointestinal hemorrhage (P = 0.023) and severe nausea (P = 0.007) compared with the BEAM cohort. Objective. The emerging literature on caregiving posits that anxiety is fairly prevalent and could vary with factors such as caregiving burden, mastery, and sleep quality. Little work has explained the possible dynamics between those variables. This study therefore aims to investigate the multiple serial mediations of mastery and sleep quality in the relationship between caregiving burden and anxiety among Chinese parental caregivers of children with leukemia. Method. Data were taken from a convenient sample (n = 342) from a nonprofit organization that provides psycho-social support to oncological patients and their families nationwide in China. The following standardized self-reported questionnaires were administered to parents of children with leukemia: Zarit Care Burden Scale, Personal Mastery Scale, Insomnia Severity Index, and Generalized Anxiety Disorder. A serial multiple mediation model (PROCESS model 6) was employed to test the mediation hypothesis. Result. It was demonstrated that caregiving burden was positively and significantly correlated with caregivers' anxiety. Bootstrap analyses indicate that there were direct and indirect effects of caregiving burden on anxiety, and it was mediated by mastery. In addition, sleep quality mediated the effects of caregiving burden and mastery on anxiety, respectively. Conclusion. Taken together, for parental caregivers of children with leukemia in China, caregiving burden is a primary stressor and can trigger anxiety. The expansion of rural construction land in China has led to ecological consequences under the context of rural depopulation, despite government land use controls. While previous studies have investigated the local factors contributing to the expansion of rural construction land, the semi-urbanisation of urban immigrants distant from rural areas has received less attention. To better understand the connections between the semi-urbanisation in the urban areas and the construction land expansion in rural areas, this study constructed a network/spatial lag of N/X (N/SLX) model that incorporated the network lagged term of the socio-economic traits of semi-urbanised migrants to analyse how urban semi-urbanisation influenced rural construction land. Our findings suggest that both the income of rural-urban migrants and the difficulty of obtaining urban household registration are positively correlated with the expanding extent of rural construction land. Conversely, the living expenses of migrants and city economic development are negatively correlated with that of rural construction land. Considering our findings, we propose that policies facilitating the settlement and integration of rural out-migrants into cities and proceeding urbanisation based on county towns are crucial to curb the inefficient expansion of rural construction land. Questions: Although the relationships between biodiversity and individual ecosystem functions under resource enrichment have been extensively studied, there is limited understanding of how resource‐induced changes affect ecosystem multifunctionality and its temporal stability, along with the underlying biological mechanisms. Location: Inner Mongolia, China. Methods: We investigated the impact of biodiversity mechanisms on ecosystem multifunctionality and its temporal stability through a 3‐year field experiment. This experiment involved augmenting growing season precipitation and nitrogen deposition, conducted in a typical steppe ecosystem of Inner Mongolia alongside regular mowing. Results: Our findings revealed that the addition of water (W) and nitrogen (N) had varying effects on ecosystem multifunctionality and its temporal stability. The combination of N and W additions enhanced ecosystem multifunctionality, whereas both W and N + W additions promoted the temporal stability of ecosystem multifunctionality. Structural equation modeling demonstrated that the community‐weighted mean height, in response to nitrogen addition, played a key role in enhancing ecosystem multifunctionality. By contrast, increased species asynchrony because of water addition and greater functional diversity in terms of leaf area contributed to heightened temporal stability of ecosystem multifunctionality. Furthermore, the positive effects of community‐weighted mean height on ecosystem multifunctionality exhibited a gradual increase with rising threshold levels. Conclusions: Our study provides the first evidence of the independent effects of selection, exemplified by community‐weighted mean and complementarity, represented by factors such as species richness, functional diversity and species asynchrony on both ecosystem multifunctionality and its temporal stability. This underscores how global change factors can directly influence ecosystem multifunctionality and its temporal stability while also indirectly modulating biodiversity effects in the short term. Eutrophication is prevalent in urban lakes; however, a knowledge gap exists regarding eutrophication influences on carbon dynamics in these ecosystems. In the present study, we investigated the carbon dioxide (CO2) and methane (CH4) concentration and diffusion fluxes in Lake Tangxun (the largest shallow Chinese urban lake) in the autumn and winter of 2022 and spring and summer of 2023. We found that Lake Tangxun served as a source of GHGs, with average emission rates of 5.52 ± 12.16 mmol CO2 m−2 d−1 and 0.83 ± 2.81 mmol CH4 m−2 d−1, respectively. The partial pressure of dissolved CO2 (pCO2) (averaging 1321.39 ± 1614.63 μatm) and dissolved CH4 (dCH4) (averaging 4.29 ± 13.71 μmol L−1) exceeded saturation levels. Seasonal variability was observed in the pCO2 and dCH4 as well as CH4 fluxes, while the CO2 flux remained constant. The mean pCO2 and dCH4, as well as carbon emissions, were generally higher in summer and spring. pCO2 and dCH4 levels were significantly related to total nitrogen (TN), total phosphorus (TP), and ammonium-nitrogen (N-NH4+), and N-NH4+ was a main influencing factor of pCO2 and dCH4 in urban eutrophic lakes. The positive relationships of pCO2, dCH4 and trophic state index highlighted that eutrophication could elevate CO2 and CH4 emissions from the lake. This study highlights the fact that eutrophication can significantly increase carbon emissions in shallow urban lakes and that urban lakes are substantial contributors to the global carbon budget. The migration of trees induced by climatic warming has been observed at many alpine treelines and boreal–tundra ecotones, but the migration of temperate trees into southern boreal forest remains less well documented. We conducted a field investigation across an ecotone of temperate and boreal forests in northern Greater Khingan Mountains of northeast China. Our analysis demonstrates that Mongolian oak (Quercus mongolica), an important temperate tree species, has migrated rapidly into southern boreal forest in synchrony with significant climatic warming over the past century. The average rate of migration is estimated to be 12.0 ± 1.0 km decade−1, being slightly slower than the movement of isotherms (14.7 ± 6.4 km decade−1). The migration rate of Mongolian oak is the highest observed among migratory temperate trees (average rate 4.0 ± 1.0 km decade−1) and significantly higher than the rates of tree migration at boreal–tundra ecotones (0.9 ± 0.4 km decade−1) and alpine treelines (0.004 ± 0.003 km decade−1). Compared with the coexisting dominant boreal tree species, Dahurian larch (Larix gmelinii), temperate Mongolian oak is observed to have significantly lower capacity for light acquisition, comparable water‐use efficiency but stronger capacity to utilize nutrients especially the most limiting nutrient, nitrogen. In the context of climatic warming, and in addition to a high seed dispersal capacity and potential thermal niche differences, the advantage of nutrient utilization, reflected by foliar elementomes and stable nitrogen isotope ratios, is also likely a key mechanism for Mongolian oak to coexist with Dahurian larch and facilitate its migration toward boreal forest. Dust events show volatile characteristics in the Northwest warming and wetting trend under global warming. Previous studies yet pay little attention to the specific characteristic of the duration of dust events. We present herein our findings on the changes of dust event duration (DED) and its influencing factors over Northwest China based on hourly resolution air quality observations. We find that the DED over Northwest China increased by ∼25% from 2015 to 2022. This increase is mainly attributed to moderate and heavy dust events, especially for regions close to dust sources, where moderate dust event frequency even decreases significantly. Correlation analyses with meteorological factors reveal that increased lower tropospheric stability is significantly associated with increased DED, implying that greater stability hinders dust dry deposition and transport processes, thereby promoting a longer residence time. Additionally, the DED in dust source regions negatively correlates with precipitation frequency (less wet deposition), while in non-dust source regions, it positively correlates with dust transport. It suggests that the factors enhancing DED vary with distance from dust sources. Exploring the key influencing factors (KIFs) of Urban Low-Carbon Innovation (ULCI) from urban characteristics is essential for devising customized promotion strategies. However, existing studies are hampered by methodological limitations that lead to an inability to effectively discern KIFs among urban characteristics or unravel complex, non-linear relationships, and interaction effects. To address these gaps, this paper adopts a synthetic approach based on interpretable Machine Learning (ML). Firstly, the influencing factors are identified through the Delphi method and a systematic literature review. Subsequently, three single AI models (KNN, SVR, and CART) and three ensemble models (RF, XGBoost, and LBGM) are employed to fit the data. Finally, the SHapley Additive exPlanations (SHAP) algorithm is integrated to identify the KIFs and disentangle their impact effects. The findings indicate that (1) 41 influencing factors are identified, from which 10 KIFs, such as Expenditure on Research, Carbon Emissions, Local General Budgetary Revenue, and Education Expenditure, are determined, (2) the developed interpretable ML model tailored for ULCI's KIFs analysis demonstrates high precision and effectively capturing non-linear relationships (R2 = 0.841, RMSE = 0.591, MAE = 0.463), and (3) the global impact, interactive effects, and individual sample impact of the KIFs are explained, and two categories of KIFs dominated by positive and negative influences are revealed respectively. The prevailing paradigm of traditional top-down urban renewal has been criticized for failing to consider diverse public requests and preferences. This critique has prompted a "human-centric" approach, emphasizing effective two-way communication within urban renewal. Despite this shift, there remains a significant gap in research on real-time public opinions generated from bottom-up participation in urban renewal, particularly with regard to governmental response to such micro-level feedback. Therefore, based on provincial-level panel data and micro-level opinions on the Leaders' Message Board, this research adopted a text mining method and regression model to evaluate unstructured user-generated data and explore the determinants of government responsiveness in urban renewal. The results reveal that there are more public opinions on urban renewal in economically developed regions than in less developed regions. This study also found that local governments can respond to most public opinions. Meanwhile, "project progress inquiry", "quality problem", and economic level have significant positive impacts on response timeliness, while "information disclosure" and "livelihood issues" have adverse effects. To achieve the national objective of "carbon peak and carbon neutrality," it is imperative to significantly enhance the utilization of renewable energy sources, such as wind and solar power, in the transformation of China's energy infrastructure. However, the intermittent, volatile, and unstable nature of wind and solar power generation systems is often subject to the influence of local weather conditions. Furthermore, recent years have witnessed a growing frequency and intensity of extreme weather events, posing considerable constraints on the effective exploitation of wind and solar resources. Consequently, conducting a comprehensive climate risk analysis pertaining to wind and solar resources is of paramount importance in expediting their adoption while mitigating potential energy security risks. In this study, we conducted an extensive examination of inefficient wind and solar resources across China, encompassing the intensity, spatial distribution, and duration of such events. Leveraging high-resolution wind and solar resource datasets spanning from 2000 to 2021, we employed intensity-area-duration analysis to elucidate the spatial and temporal characteristics of these inefficiencies nationwide. Moreover, we conducted a diagnostic assessment of key factors, including scope, duration, and frequency. Additionally, we proposed a comprehensive index system to evaluate the viability of wind and solar resource development. Our findings revealed that climate risks associated with wind and solar resources were predominantly concentrated in autumn and winter. Regions such as Xinjiang, Sichuan, and the middle reaches of the Yangtze River exhibited a higher frequency of inefficient wind and solar events. Notably, the North China Plain and the middle reaches of the Yangtze River were primarily affected by haze and plum rain weather, respectively, leading to these inefficiencies. Conversely, the northwest and northeast regions demonstrated a superior suitability for wind and solar resource development. This paper comprehensively explored the impacts of hydrometeorological controls on leaf area index (LAI) and gross primary productivity (GPP) in China during 1982–2015 using both satellite observations and reanalysis. Vapor pressure deficit (VPD), evapotranspiration (ET), precipitation (PT), and soil moisture (SM) were used as representative indicators during investigation. The dynamics of LAI and GPP displayed increasing trends on the whole. And significantly changes mostly occurred in eastern and southern China, accompanied by moderate to dense vegetation coverage. An accelerated increasing trend for LAI could be observed since September 2003 (+0.175 per decade), while the growth rate of GPP (+16.76 g C/m2 per decade) basically maintained stable. In terms of hydrometeorological controls, VPD and ET showed consistently increasing trend and SM presented falling trend in the context of warming climate. Through analysis of feature importance index established by Random Forest, the importance of VPD, SM, and PT obviously increased as latitude decreases, which implied the high sensitivity of vegetation in semi-humid\humid regions to water availability. Additionally, divergence between LAI and GPP can be found in southern Tibet Plateau region and coastal regions, which provides compelling evidence that in the case of high LAI, increasing LAI could weaken the improvement effect on GPP. The long-term mental health consequences of COVID-19 in children and adolescents remain unclear. We investigated the impact of COVID-19 infection on mental health after China's zero-COVID policy relaxation, focusing on symptom-specific and social-family risk factors for mental health issues in children and adolescents. In a longitudinal study, 8348 youths (aged 10–18) were assessed twice (T1: September to October 2022 and T2: April to May 2023). Mental health changes (Δ=T1-T2) were compared between COVID-19-infected (COVID+, n = 4108) and non-infected (COVID-, n = 4240). After balancing social–family confounding factors at T1 with propensity score-based inverse probability weights, multivariable logistic regression was employed to assess associations between COVID-19 infection and the onset/worsening of mental health symptoms. Multivariable logistic regression was conducted to explore specific acute COVID-19 symptoms and social–family risk factors associated with the onset/worsening of mental health symptoms in COVID + group. Compared to COVID- group, COVID + group exhibited lower overall mental health improvement (Δ). COVID + group was associated with increased risks of depression worsening (OR 1.20, 95 % CI 1.04–1.39), anxiety worsening (OR 1.30, 95 % CI 1.15–1.47), stress worsening (OR 1.23, 95 % CI 1.03–1.46), insomnia worsening (OR 1.21, 95 % CI 1.05–1.39), and emotional symptoms worsening (OR 1.72, 95 % CI 1.27–2.33). Moderate-to-severe difficulty thinking, breathlessness, and gastrointestinal symptoms were specific COVID-19 symptoms associated with worsening of various mental health outcomes. Furthermore, academic difficulties, economic disadvantages, family conflicts, food addiction, and alcohol consumption were identified as social-family risk factors for worsening mental health symptoms in COVID + youths. COVID-19 infection leaves lasting mental health scars in youths, extending beyond the acute phase. Specific symptoms, particularly cognitive dysfunction and respiratory/gastrointestinal distress play a significant role in this vulnerability. Social-family factors further modulate these effects, highlighting the need for comprehensive interventions that address both biological and psychosocial aspects. The plant Andrographis paniculata has a long history of cultivation in Southeast Asia, especially its extensive anti-inflammatory activity, and the famous natural antibiotic andrographolide comes from this plant. In China, A. paniculata, as the main crop, has become a major source of traditional Chinese medicine (TCM) for the clinical treatment of inflammation. To further explore the diverse diterpene lactones with better anti-inflammatory activity from A. paniculata , twenty-one ent -labdanes, including six undescribed compounds (andropanilides D-I), were isolated. Their structures with absolute configurations were thoroughly determined by comprehensive NMR spectroscopic data, HRESIMS analysis and quantum chemical calculations. All isolated compounds were evaluated for anti-inflammatory activities based on the Griess method. Meanwhile, after structure-activity relationships analysis, the anti-inflammatory activity of andropanilide D (1) (IC 50 = 2.31 μM) was found to be better than that of the positive control drug (dexamethasone, IC 50 = 6.52 μM) and andrographolide (IC 50 = 5.89 μM). Further mechanisms of activity indicated that andropanilide D significantly reduced the secretion of TNF-α, IL-6 and IL-1β and downregulated the protein expression of COX-2 and iNOS in LPS-induced RAW264.7 macrophages in a concentration-dependent manner based on Western blot and ELISA experiments. In conclusion, andropanilide D possesses potential medicinal value for the treatment of inflammation and further expands the material basis of the anti-inflammatory effect of A. paniculata. NLR is a new biomarker to predict the efficacy of immune checkpoint inhibitors (ICIs) for HCC. • The differential expression analysis of NLR-related genes showed 74 up-regulated genes and 445 down-regulated genes in the high-NLR group. In recent years, immune checkpoint inhibitors (ICIs), particularly programmed cell death protein 1 (PD-1) antibodies, have demonstrated effectiveness in comprehensive HCC treatment. However, the efficacy and prognosis vary greatly among patients. Screening suitable patients and predicting outcomes are crucial for improving the efficacy of ICIs. Although PD-L1 expression levels in tumor cells have been used as predictors of PD-1/PD-L1 antibody therapy, they may not consistently correlate with clinical response in some studies; thus, exploring new biomarkers is necessary. The neutrophil-to-lymphocyte ratio (NLR) emerged as a new predictor of ICI immunotherapy efficacy, and its application in HCC is worth exploring. This study utilizes the Cancer Genome Atlas Liver Hepatocellular Carcinoma Collection (TCGA-LIHC) project in the Genomic Data Commons (GDC) database for methylation and transcriptome data analysis. The correlation between NLR and ICI immunotherapy efficacy for HCC was evaluated, identifying differentially expressed genes. Analysis revealed 74 up-regulated and 445 down-regulated genes in the high-NLR group compared to the low-NLR group. NLR-related differential methylation analysis identified 68 hypermethylated and 65 hypomethylated probes in the NLR high group. Furthermore, a machine learning model using 27 intersecting genes predicted PD-1 antibody therapy efficacy, achieving an AUC value of 0.813. Grouper has been highlighted as current hot species for marine aquaculture in China, so it is vital to master its growth performance in early development stage and understand growth trend of it. However, there are few detailed reports on the growth model and biological parameters in the early growth of grouper. The aim of this study is to discuss and compare the applicability of growth indexes and 10 biological growth models in larval and juvenile stage of hybrid and natural groupers, then to evaluate the optimum model. Pearl gentian grouper (PG) and kelp grouper (KG) were selected. The growth data of grouper larvae and juvenile were chosen. Absolute growth (AG), relative growth rate (RGR) and specific growth rate (SGR), and the thermal-unit growth coefficient (TGC) were calculated. Ten nonlinear models, such as Logistic, Gompertz,Von Bertalanffy, Generalized Weibull, Janoschek, Schnute and et al., were used to fit growth. Models were evaluated and selected by Akaike information criterion (AIC) method, the values of RMSE , MAE and R 2 , parameter significance level and iterations. Fitting results showed that compared with AG , RGR and SGR , TGC has higher fitting degree, especially for fitting weight (R 2 > 0.99). In larval stage, Schnute model had the highest best fit ratio (75%), and minimum number of iterations (< 71), with more than two significant parameters (P < 0.001). In juvenile stage, the beat fitting ratio of Janoschek model evaluated by AIC was 25%, and that by RMSE , MAE and R 2 was 50%, which was higher than other models. It also had low iteration times and high significant level (P < 0.05). For model evaluation, best fitting result evaluated by AIC method was different from that evaluated by RMSE , MAE and R 2 . It is more reliable to combine the two methods for model evaluation. The growth curves generated by optimum models showed that the growth characteristics of larvae is exponential, and in juvenile stage, PG maintained accelerated growth but the growth rate of KG gradually decreased. In summary, the optimum model of larval stage was Schnute model and that of juvenile stage was Janoschek model; 4-parameter models have high robustness and accuracy for fitting growth; Compared with KG, PG grows faster and is more suitable for aquaculture. Drinking water is the main cause of iodine excess among Chinese residents and we have found that water iodine concentration (WIC) reduction was the effective intervening measure. In this study, to eliminate the hazards of water-borne excessive iodine, we firstly investigated the WIC of villages in Tianjin in 2017 to determine the distribution range. Secondly, the risk characterization of excessive iodine on residents in 6∼< 9 years old, 9∼< 12 years old, 12∼< 15 years old, 15∼< 18 years old and adults were evaluated, and the safe upper limit of WIC was determined. Finally, WIC was investigated again after the completion of WIC reduction in water-borne excessive-iodine villages in 2020, and the differences in urinary iodine concentration (UIC) and thyroid volume (Tvol) of children aged 8–10 years before and after WIC reduction were analyzed. The WIC of 2459 villages surveyed was 22.30 (8.60–58.80) μg/L and the maximum was 514 μg/L. There were 422 villages with WIC > 100 μg/L. Under the conditions of non-iodized salt intake, recommended amount of iodized salt intake and actual amount intake, the maximum of excessive iodine exposure hazard quotient (HQ) were the highest in the age group of 6∼< 9 years, which were 2.300, 2.663 and 2.771, the safe upper WIC limits were 223 μg/L, 142 μg/L and 118 μg/L and villages with HQ> 1 accounted for 4.14%, 6.09% and 6.88% of all villages, respectively. After the WIC reduction, the WIC of the former water-borne iodine-excess villages decreased to < 100 μg/L, and the UIC and Tvol of children decreased (both P < 0.001) and was within normal range. Determining the distribution range of water-borne iodine-excess areas, exploring appropriate intervening measure, carrying out risk assessment, determining the WIC safe upper limit, intervening and evaluating the intervention effect can be the process to eliminate the hazards of water-borne excessive iodine. We assess the associations between personality traits and co-occurrence of depressive symptoms and high BMI from adolescence to early adulthood. We employed a nationally representative cohort in China from 2010 to 2020 year. We included adolescents aged 10–19 years without depressive symptoms and unhealthy weight status (obesity, overweight, or thinness) at baseline and excluded those without any measurement of depressive symptoms or BMI at follow-ups. We assessed baseline personality traits in 7 dimensions of conscientiousness, openness, neuroticism, agreeableness, extraversion, self-esteem, and responsibility. We also assessed the combined effects of these 7 dimensions of personality traits by generating individual-level personality trait risk scores based on the weighted sum of all these 7 dimensions of personality traits. We measured the co-occurrence of depressive symptoms and high BMI using both a single measurement of depressive symptoms and BMI at the last follow-up and repeated measurements of them over 10 years. We used the multinomial logistic regression models to examine the exposure-outcome associations. At baseline, we included 1778 individuals (mean age: 14.4 year; female: 853 (48.0%)). At follow-ups, we observed increased risk of co-occurrence of depressive symptoms and high BMI per 1-SD increase in neuroticism score (1.95–2.38 odds ratio) or 1-SD decrease in self-esteem and conscientiousness (0.63–0.80 odds ratio; all P values < 0.05); we observed no evidence of associations between openness, agreeableness, extraversion, or responsibility and the risk of co-occurrence of depressive symptoms and high BMI (all P values > 0.05). For the combined effects of the 7 dimensions of personality traits, we found an elevated risk of co-occurrence of depressive symptoms and high BMI per 1-SD increase in the personality trait risk scores (OR (95% CI), single measurement at the last follow-up: 2.01, 1.66 to 2.43; trajectory classification using the repeated measurements 2.30, 1.55 to 3.42; average level using the repeated measurements: 2.27, 1.93 to 2.67). In this national cohort in China, personality traits were found to be associated with the co-occurrence of depressive symptoms and high BMI from adolescence to early adulthood. These findings highlight the importance of stratifying individuals based on their personality traits and providing targeted interventions for those at risk of comorbid depression and obesity. Experimental investigation of the elastic behaviours of lacustrine shales remains sparse, although they play an essential role in source rock evaluation, unconventional reservoir exploration and development, and the seal integrity evaluation for geological storage of CO2 and nuclear waste disposal. We make the ultrasonic velocity measurement of 63 organic‐rich shale samples (Chang 7, Qingshankou and Lucaogou formation) from three typical lacustrine basins in China. It is found that the P‐ and S‐wave velocity of Chang 7 and Qingshankou shale corresponding to the fresh‐brackish lacustrine depositional environment is mainly impacted by the clay and organic matter content, whereas their elastic anisotropic magnitude is mostly influenced by clay content. The P‐ and S‐wave velocities of Lucaogou shale corresponding to the saline lacustrine depositional environment are mainly affected by the total organic carbon and porosity and exhibit weak anisotropy linked to organic matter enrichment. Exponential law well captures the relationship between anisotropic magnitude and velocity perpendicular to bedding for both saline and fresh‐brackish water lacustrine shales, although there exists notable discrepancy, particularly at low velocities. Shallow water carbonates are extensively utilized as archives for reconstructing past seawater chemistry and understanding global geochemical cycles. However, their reliability is often compromised by diagenetic alteration, obscuring primary environmental signals. Molar-tooth carbonate (MTC) exhibits exceptional resistance to diagenesis compared to other carbonate minerals, making it a promising candidate for reliably reconstructing ancient seawater chemistry. This study investigates the preservation of primary lithium isotopic composition in Neoproterozoic (Tonian) MTC and its host carbonate from the Dalian area, northeastern China (ca. 980 Ma – 920 Ma). We assess the reliability of MTC in reconstructing paleo-seawater δ7Li evolution and provide a reconstruction of Tonian seawater δ7Li. Geochemical filter tests indicate that both MTC and host carbonate remain largely unaltered by meteoric and burial diagenesis. Carbonate δ7Li values exhibit a consistent decrease with stratigraphic height, with MTC displaying a narrower range of variation (4–12‰) compared to its host carbonate (1–15‰). Numerical modeling of early marine carbonate diagenesis suggests minimal impact on MTC δ7Li values, while host carbonates show varying degrees of diagenetic alteration. Based on the consistent Li isotopic offset observed between 'fluid-buffered' diagenetic host carbonate and MTC in our data, we deduce a fractionation factor of 4.8 ± 1.2‰ for seawater-MTC Li isotopic exchange. Reconstructed paleoseawater δ7Li values reveal a progressive decrease from 16.9 ± 1.2‰ to 8.8 ± 1.2‰ during the early Tonian period. This change is likely linked to the assembly of the Rodinia supercontinent and emplacement of large igneous province (LIP). Furthermore, mass balance modeling and Monte Carlo simulations suggest that this decline in seawater δ7Li can be attributed to the transition towards more congruent weathering during the early Tonian, facilitated by the assembly of Rodinia and associated large igneous province events. Overall, our findings underscore the potential of MTC as a reliable proxy for elucidating Precambrian seawater Li isotopic composition and understanding associated paleoenvironmental and paleoclimatic changes. Calcium (Ca) is a highly soluble and mobile element during silicate weathering, and its isotopes could be a promising tracer for continental weathering processes. However, it remains controversial whether Ca isotopes fractionate during granitoids' weathering. Here we investigated Ca isotope fractionation (measured by δ 44/42Ca) behaviours on the weathering profile of the late middle Jurassic Fogang granite (165 ± 2 Ma) under a tropical climate with the help of radiogenic anomaly data (i.e., ε40/44Ca) (both relative to the NIST standard SRM 915a), as well as its implications for the Ca isotopic composition in the hydrosphere. A total of 15 saprolite samples, 2 fresh parent rocks, 3 fresh individual minerals of one granite weathering profile from Fogang county, South China, and 8 stream water samples nearby the profile have been analysed for their Ca isotopic compositions by thermal ionisation mass spectrometry using a double spike method. Results reveal extreme radiogenic and stable Ca isotopic variations among saprolites. The saprolites have ε40/44Ca ranging from 0.8 to 55.6, whereas fresh granite rocks exhibit uniform ε40/44Ca close to 0. The large variation of ε40/44Ca in the saprolites can be attributed to the preferential dissolution of plagioclase and exsolved albite in K-feldspar or the variation of K/Ca molar ratios in K-feldspar. In general, saprolites are enriched in lighter Ca isotopes compared to the parent rocks (0.39 ± 0.04 ‰) and have δ 44/42Ca values ranging from −0.45 ‰ to 0.43 ‰. This suggests that newly formed clay minerals preferentially absorb the lighter Ca isotopes (e.g., 40Ca). However, the δ 44/42Ca of stream waters draining highly weathered granite catchments reflect δ 44/42Ca of bedrock, rather than δ 44/42Ca of the saprolites. One possible reason is that too little Ca was adsorbed by secondary clay minerals in the saprolite to shift the Ca isotope composition of dissolved Ca from the bedrock. Our study shows that a combination of radiogenic and stable Ca isotope data is a promising tracer for the sources, migration, and transformation processes of this key element during continental weathering processes. Since 2012, there has been a noticeable upward trend in the global incidence of inclusion body hepatitis (IBH) cases, leading to substantial economic losses in the poultry industry. In response to this trend, the current study aimed to investigate the phylogenetic information, genetic mutations, and pathogenicity of the highly pathogenic fowl adenovirus (FAdV) strain HN1472, which was isolated from liver samples obtained from a laying flock affected by IBH. This investigation was carried out using 1-day-old specific pathogen-free (SPF) chickens. Recombination and phylogenetic analyses confirmed that HN1472 is a recombinant strain derived from FAdV-8a and FAdV-8b, and exhibited significant genetic divergence in the hexon, fiber, and ORF19 genes. Notably, the phylogenetic analysis identified recombination events in these regions. Furthermore, animal experiments revealed that HN1472 is a highly pathogenic isolate, causing 80% mortality and manifesting clinical signs of IBH in SPF chickens. Furthermore, the recombinant FAdV serotype 8b (FAdV-8b) was found to be widely distributed in various tissues, with a higher concentration in the livers and gizzard tissue at 3 d postchallenge (dpc). Non-suicidal self-injury (NSSI) is an emerging health concern is adolescents. The current research investigated the relationship between physical activity (PA) and NSSI frequency in depressed adolescents and analyzed the mediating role of perceived stress (PS), as well as the moderating role of perceived social support (PSS). 1675 depressed adolescents aged 12 to 18 years across 9 provinces in mainland China were recruited from December 2020 to December 2021. We employed the SPSS PROESS models to test the mediating effects and moderating effects. The age, gender, depression, peer bullying and rumination factors were controlled in the analysis. PA was negatively associated with PS, and PS was positively associated with NSSI frequency. However, PA exerted positive direct impacts on NSSI frequency. The total effect of PA on NSSI was positive and significant. PA exhibits a double-edged effect on NSSI frequency. Notably, for different physical activity levels, the positive impact of PA on NSSI only existed in high PA group. PSS effectively moderated and attenuated the effect of PS on NSSI. Background and Aims: Insulin resistance (IR) has previously been associated with hypertension, and obesity is a risk factor for IR and hypertension. There is likely an association between body mass index (BMI) and risk for hypertension through the triglyceride-glucose (TyG) index but this relationship remains uncharacterized., Methods and Results: This study is based on the Hanzhong Adolescent Hypertension Cohort, which is an ongoing prospective study established in 1987. The TyG index was calculated as ln [fasting triglyceride (mg/dl) × fasting plasma glucose (mg/dl)/ 2 ]. The total area under the curve (AUCt) and incremental AUC (AUCi) were calculated as the long-term burden and trend of BMI, respectively. We found that BMI AUCt and BMI AUCi were significantly associated with the risk of adult hypertension, both without (RR = 1.30/1.31 for BMI AUCt/AUCi) and with (RR = 1.25/1.26 for BMI AUCt/AUCi) the inclusion of the TyG index as a covariate. Importantly, mediation analysis revealed that the TyG index mediated the BMI AUCt-SBP association (19.3%), the BMI AUCt-DBP association (22.7%), the BMI AUCi-SBP association (18.5%) and the BMI AUCi-DBP association (21.3%). Furthermore, the TyG index had a significant mediating effect of 15.9% on the BMI AUCt-hypertension association and 14.9% on the BMI AUCi-hypertension association., Conclusion: These findings suggest that the TyG index plays an important mediating role in the association between the cumulative burden and increasing trends of BMI originating in childhood and the risk of hypertension in midlife. Introduction: This study investigates the mutual influence between online medical search and online medical consultation. It focuses on understanding the health information needs that drive these health information-seeking behaviors by utilizing insights from behavioral big data., Methods: We used actual behavioral data from Chinese internet users on Baidu platform's "Epidemic Index" from November 26, 2022, to January 25, 2023. Data modeling was conducted to ensure the reliability of the model. Drawing on the logistic model, we constructed a foundational model to quantify the evolutionary patterns of online medical search and online medical consultation. An impact function was defined to measure their mutual influence. Additionally, a pattern detection experiment was conducted to determine the structure of the impact function with maximum commonality through data fitting., Results: The analysis allowed us to build a mathematical model that quantifies the nonlinear correlation between online medical search and online medical consultation. Background: Obesity is a major public health issue in China and around the world. While acupuncture is often used in clinical practice, there is a lack of conclusive evidence for its weight-loss effect. Thus we will conduct a parallel, randomised, sham-controlled trial to evaluate the efficacy and safety of acupuncture for treating obesity., Methods and Analysis: A total of 160 eligible participants with obesity will be randomly assigned to the verum acupuncture group or sham acupuncture group at a ratio of 1:1. All participants will be treated three times a week for a duration of 12 weeks, and followed up for another 16 weeks. The primary outcome is the percentage change in body weight from baseline to Week 12. The secondary outcomes include body mass index (BMI), waist circumference (WC), body fat percentage (BF%), blood pressure, fasting blood glucose, insulin, glycosylated haemoglobin A1c, blood lipids, and physical functioning score on the Short Form 36 Health Survey. Other secondary outcomes including psychological and social functions will also be evaluated using the body image scale, psychological function scale, and social function scale of the BODY-Q, Rosenberg Self-Esteem Scale, Patient Health Questionnaire-9, and Dutch Eating Behaviour Questionnaire. BMI, WC, BF% and blood pressure will be evaluated at Week 0, 4, 8, 12 and 28. Other secondary outcomes will be measured at Week 0, 12 and 28, respectively. Introduction: The therapeutic needs of women with diminished ovarian reserve (DOR), coupled with the increasing application of acupuncture in improving ovarian function, have highlighted the need to verify the efficacy and safety of acupuncture for DOR. This study aims to provide high-quality evidence by evaluating both ovarian reserve and in vitro fertilisation (IVF) outcomes., Methods and Analysis: A large-scale, multicentre, randomised controlled trial will be carried out across seven hospitals in China. 400 women with DOR will be randomised in a 1:1 ratio to an acupuncture group or a sham acupuncture group. Acupuncture or sham acupuncture will consist of 36 sessions per participant over 12 weeks. The primary outcome will be the change in antral follicle count (AFC) at week 12 from baseline. Secondary outcomes are AFC at week 24, the serum levels of basal follicle-stimulating hormone and anti-Mullerian hormone at weeks 12 and 24, the scores of the Self-Rating Anxiety Scale at weeks 12 and 24, clinical pregnancy rate, and IVF embryo transfer related outcomes. Background: Higher education students exhibit heightened sensitivity to environmental changes as they navigate the critical transition from adolescence to adulthood. The coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) pandemic has posed unprecedented challenges to universities worldwide, exemplifying a crisis that profoundly affects the learning outcomes and psychological status of college students. Although it is known that campus lockdown has triggered dramatic changes in lifestyles, learning outcomes, and psychological statuses, in-depth knowledge of the causal relationships among these changes remains largely unclear., Methods: Here, we conducted a cross-sectional survey designed to assess the impact of campus closure during COVID-19 on lifestyle, educational performance, and anxiety levels among college students. We surveyed over 3,500 junior college, undergraduate and graduate participants from 94 colleges/universities across 30 provinces, municipalities, and autonomous regions in China.We employed structural equation modeling (SEM) to explore the relationships between changes in lifestyle, educational performance, and levels of anxiety associated with campus open or closure regulations during the COVID-19 pandemic., Results: Our results discovered that sleep duration, physical activity involvement, and social connections were crucial for sustaining students' learning outcomes and mental health. The shift to online learning and campus lockdown exacerbated stressors, contributing to heightened anxiety (β = 0.066), disrupted sleep patterns, and enhanced physical activity (β = 0.070) and reduced learning effect (β = -0.059). Sleep patterns were disrupted by the campus lockdown, an effect mediated by the degradation of relationships among classmates. Nonetheless, the best-fitting SEM uncovered the intricate relationships among lifestyle changes, learning outcomes, and psychological status in response to sudden environmental changes (Fisher's C = 80.949, P = 0.328). These results highlight the critical role of adaptable, supportive campus policies tailored to meet the diverse needs and interests of students during and beyond crises (Fisher's C = 59.568, P = 0.809)., Conclusions: Our study advocates for a holistic approach that addresses the multifaceted aspects of student life to cultivate a resilient academic community. Anthropogenic reactive nitrogen (N) deposition has increased significantly since the industrial revolution. Northern China has become a global hotspot for N deposition. However, few studies have been conducted to quantify the historical changes of atmospheric N deposition fluxes and source contributions in Northern China. By investigating N contents and δ 15 N values of mosses at Mount Tai (Northern China) in 1984 and 2021, we reconstructed fluxes and source contributions of wet inorganic N deposition and evaluated their historical changes. Compared with 1984, moss N contents (from 1.7 ± 0.3% to 2.1 ± 0.4%) showed a significant increase in 2021, which was mainly attributed to a significant increase in nitrate N deposition fluxes at Mount Tai. Moss δ 15 N values (from -5.9 ± 0.9‰ to -5.2 ± 2.4‰) showed a slight increase from 1984 to 2021 at Mount Tai. The importance of combustion-related NH 3 (including vehicle exhaust, coal combustion, and biomass burning) in 2021 (51.2%) were higher than those in 1984 (43.9%), while the importance of volatilization NH 3 sources (including waste and fertilizers) in 2021 (48.8%) were lower than those in 1984 (56.1%). It was fossil-fuel NO x (from vehicle exhaust and coal combustion) (54.1%) rather than non-fossil fuel NO x (from biomass burning and microbial N cycles) (45.9%) dominated NO x emissions in both 1984 and 2021.
