Researchers at the University of Science and Technology China have developed a digital microfluidic thermal control system for stable polymerase chain reaction (PCR). The system includes a thermoelectric cooler unit, a thermal control board, and software for temperature control and droplet observation. The researchers used a fuzzy proportional-integral-derivative (PID) method to enhance thermal stability and save time.
