In this paper, I propose a model of plurimethodological approach in ELT textbook design, in which one unit is based on the communicative PPP unit model, where the unit ends with a final communicative task, and the following unit is based on the action-oriented unit model, where the unit is a mini-project unit as a whole. Such a textbook model is based on the concept of plurimethodological pair-unit, where the communicative approach and the action-oriented approach are combined in coherence and synergy. In such a plurimethodological textbook design, the topics of the two successive units (one PPP unit and the other mini-project unit) are the same or closely related, so that the unit based on the PPP model will provide the students with much of the language and documentary resources needed to complete the mini-project in the following unit. The mini-project unit will provide the students with additional language and documentary resources for carrying out the miniproject, but as there will be less language and documentary work for students in this unit, students will be better able to concentrate on carrying out the miniproject. This paper examines underlying beliefs and values about nature within the early years education in Turkey, as reflected in the curricula and standards documents guiding instruction. Given that not every child has the opportunity for nature-based education, it becomes essential to incorporate nature-based learning into indoor classrooms. Employing a document analysis, we comprehensively analyse the Ministry of Education's Preschool Education Program (2013), Activity Book-1 (2013a), and Activity Book-2 (2018), which guides teachers in shaping their classroom practices, therefore providing in-depth insights into the conceptualisations of nature. Our analysis reveals that 'nature' in these documents is characterised by its connection to and intersections of specific settings, concepts, and resources. Moreover, we found out that the identified patterns of relationships in the examined curriculum and standards documents demonstrate a purposeful initiative to engage preschool children in the realm of nature through various means, including conceptual comprehension, hands-on interaction with materials, and direct involvement in natural surroundings. The intersections among these elements unveil a complex network of opportunities to promote an enhanced learning journey. By fostering a deeper understanding of the relationship between curriculum guidelines and nature activities, we aim to empower early childhood educators to embrace nature as an integral part of their classroom practices.

Introduction: Workplace violence is common in healthcare and remains a complex and serious occupational hazard. Aim: This research was conducted to assess the workplace violence experiences and perspectives of psychiatric nurses. Method: This study was a qualitative study conducted using a grounded theory approach method. The study was conducted between November 2022 and January 2023. The purposeful sampling method was used, and 11 psychiatric nurses were interviewed. Data were collected with an information form and a semi‐structured interview form. The data were analysed using content analysis, and themes were created. Findings: The ages of the psychiatric nurses ranged from 38 to 57 years. Themes and sub‐themes related to the workplace violence experiences and perspectives of psychiatric nurses included the way of violence (rising tension, eruption of the volcano, unintentional violence and turning to ash) and empowerment (ash cloud and ring of fire). Conclusion: Psychiatric nurses stated that they were exposed to verbal and physical violence for many reasons, that this situation seriously affected their physical, mental and social health and that in addition to the devastating effects of violence, they became stronger by developing various skills to protect against violence. Implications for Practice: Supportive interventions should be used to improve the health and safety of psychiatric nurses and patients. This study aimed to conduct a systematic literature review of research to provide an overview of the key findings and trends in studies on problem-based learning within the context of science education in Türkiye. To achieve this goal, descriptive content analysis was used in this study. Articles and graduate theses conducted in Türkiye between 2000 and December 2023 were included in this study. The Turkish Academic Network and Information Center (TR Dizin) and National Thesis Center databases were used to access the articles and theses. The purposive sampling method known as the criterion sampling method was employed in this study, resulting in the inclusion of 133 studies, including 37 articles and 96 graduate theses. To facilitate data analysis, we developed a coding form. The results of this study showed that PBL had a positive impact on 34 different skills, and it had no impact on 11 different skills. Across all reviewed studies, the most preferred research design was the quasi-experimental design. There was limited inclusion of final-year students in the samples at various school levels, and researchers mainly preferred physics subjects for their studies. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

Recently, the number of studies oriented to multidisciplinary science education is becoming more widespread with the increasing prevalence of 21 century-based applications. It is necessary to determine the subjects that are focused on educational research and the subjects that are studied frequently or rarely in order to draw a framework. Identifying science, technology, engineering, and mathematic (STEM) -oriented studies in science education with systematic content analysis accelerates researchers working in this field and gives them clarity about the subjects, samples, and a variety of variables. Therefore, the aim of this study is to examine STEM-oriented studies in science education between 2017 and 2021 with systematic content analysis in terms of different variables in Turkey. The study was conducted according to certain criteria. Scopus, Web of Science, and Google Scholar databases and indexes were examined. the number of publications made in Turkish is greater than the number of publications in English. One of the striking findings in the data obtained is that the number of publications with two authors is the highest compared with the distribution of the number of other authors. The journal that has published the most articles is Science Activities-Projects and Curriculum Ideas. The most used sample is composed of secondary school students, and the most preferred range as the sample type is between 11 and 30. There is an almost equal ratio between the research methods (quantitative and qualitative) used in the studies. It is seen that the tools classified as alternative evaluations are used the most in the studies, whereas concept maps are the least used data collection tool. It is thought that the study will guide researchers who will conduct STEM-oriented studies in science education and will help with popular trend topics that have been widely discussed recently in Turkey. Background: The risk of aspiration is high in stroke patients due to dysphagia/loss of swallowing. This problem can cause problems affecting the nutrition of patients. Due to the possible risk of aspiration during feeding, patient relatives are hesitant to feed their patients. Because of this fear, malnutrition and hospital readmissions may increase. It is important to evaluate the fear of aspiration risk of relatives of patients hospitalized in the neurology service. The aim of this study is to determine the views of the relatives of patients treated in the neurology service about the risk of aspiration through metaphors. Method: This article analyzed metaphors of patients' relatives' about the risk of aspiration. The analysis uses metaphor identification and analysis. The research sample consisted of 31 patients. First of all, in the study, evaluation of the data was conducted by performing content analysis, as a result of which it was divided into metaphors and conceptual categories, and the relevant field was associated with the text (event, thought, feelings, related in speech or writing). In the reporting of research, the Consolidated Criteria for Reporting Qualitative Research (COREQ) checklist was used. Results: It was seen that the patients' relatives produced 31 different metaphors in response to the statement 'Aspiration risk is like ..., because it is ...' The patients' relatives mostly compared the concept of 'fear of aspiration' to the concept of 'fear' (n: 24). Conclusions: In this study, relatives mostly described the concept of fear related to the risk of aspiration. According to this result, patients' relatives have a great fear of aspiration increasing the risk of readmission to hospital and of malnutrition. This result shows that informing patients' relatives will increase awareness and will allow them to provide informed care. Patient and Public Contribution: Collaborated with patients and their relatives regarding the risk of aspiration and contributed to the planning of care for the risk of aspiration. Introduction: Limited research on experiences of women, who constitute a double vulnerable group in both women and refugee status, regarding sexual and reproductive health. The purpose of this study is to examine the knowledge, beliefs, and cultural practices of Afghan women living in Türkiye regarding sexual and reproductive health. Method: This descriptive phenomenological study was conducted with 18 Afghan refugee women. In-depth, semi-structured interviews were conducted to collect data. Results: Four themes emerged from interviews: cultural practices and beliefs related to pregnancy and postpartum, use of contraceptive methods, gender-based violence, and access to health services. Conclusions: Afghan women have different cultural practices regarding prenatal, pregnancy, and postpartum and lack of knowledge about sexual and reproductive health. Considering individual differences in sexual and reproductive health, providing sensitive, supportive, and informative services is recommended. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]
