In an era overwhelmed by academic big data, students grapple with identifying academic papers that resonate with their learning objectives and research interests, due to the sheer volume and complexity of available information. This study addresses the challenge by proposing a novel academic paper recommendation system designed to enhance personalized learning through the nuanced understanding of academic social networks. Utilizing the theory of social homogeneity, the research first constructs a sophisticated academic social network, capturing high-order social relationships, such as co-authorship and advisor–advisee connections, through hypergraph modeling and advanced network representation learning techniques. The methodology encompasses the development and integration of a hypergraph convolutional neural network and a contrastive learning framework to accurately model and recommend academic papers, focusing on aligning with students' unique preferences and reducing reliance on sparse interaction data. The findings, validated across multiple real-world datasets, demonstrate a significant improvement in recommendation accuracy, particularly in addressing the cold-start problem and effectively mapping advisor–advisee relationships. The study concludes that leveraging complex academic social networks can substantially enhance the personalization and precision of academic paper recommendations, offering a promising avenue for addressing the challenges of academic information overload and fostering more effective personalized learning environments. Background: The advent of Personalized Medicine (PM) holds significant promise in revolutionizing healthcare by tailoring treatments to individual patients based on their data. However, its successful implementation requires the seamless integration of innovative technologies and presents formidable challenges in terms of sustainability. To tackle these challenges head-on, the International Consortium for Personalized Medicine (ICPerMed) was established, and the IC2PerMed project, as part of this consortium, seeks to foster collaboration between the European Union (EU) and China in the field of Personalized Medicine. Based on the results collected by the project, the objective of this study is to discern the key priorities for the implementation of Personalised Medicine concerning Information and Communication Technologies (ICT) and Big Data and digital solutions, with a particular emphasis on data management and protection. Methods: A Delphi survey was conducted to gather expert's consensus on the main priorities for actions on Information and Communication Technologies (ICT) and Big Data and digital solutions in the field of Personalized Medicine. Results: The survey identified seven priorities in the area of Big Data and digital solutions, including data interoperability, standards, security measures, and international partnerships. Additionally, twelve priorities were identified for the innovation-to-market process, emphasizing cost-effectiveness, need assessment, and value definition in resource allocation. Conclusions: The effective implementation of new technologies in Personalized Medicine research and practice is essential for the advancement of healthcare systems in both the European and Chinese contexts. The identified priorities play a pivotal role in promoting the sustainability of health systems and driving innovation in the implementation of Personalized Medicine. Traditional methods have the limitations of low accuracy and inconvenient operation in analyzing students’ abnormal behavior. Hence, a more intuitive, flexible, and user-friendly visualization tool is needed to help better understand students’ behavior data. In this study a visual analysis and interactive interface of students’ abnormal behavior based on a clustering algorithm were examined and designed. Firstly, this paper discusses the development of traditional methods for analyzing students’ abnormal behavior and visualization technology and discusses its limitations. Then, the K-means clustering algorithm is selected as the solution to find potential abnormal patterns and groups from students’ behaviors. By collecting a large number of students’ behavior data and preprocessing them to extract relevant features, a K-means clustering algorithm is applied to cluster the data and obtain the clustering results of students’ abnormal behaviors. To visually display the clustering results and help users analyze students’ abnormal behaviors, a visual analysis method and an interactive interface are designed to present the clustering results to users. The interactive functions are provided, such as screening, zooming in and out, and correlation analysis, to support users’ in-depth exploration and analysis of data. Finally, the experimental evaluation is carried out, and the effectiveness and practicability of the proposed method are verified by using big data to obtain real student behavior data. The experimental results show that this method can accurately detect and visualize students’ abnormal behaviors and provide intuitive analysis results. This paper makes full use of the advantages of big data to understand students’ behavior patterns more comprehensively and provides a new solution for students’ management and behavior analysis in the field of education. Background: Artificial intelligence (AI) can radically change almost every aspect of the human experience. In the medical field, there are numerous applications of AI and subsequently, in a relatively short time, significant progress has been made. Cardiology is not immune to this trend, this fact being supported by the exponential increase in the number of publications in which the algorithms play an important role in data analysis, pattern discovery, identification of anomalies, and therapeutic decision making. Furthermore, with technological development, there have appeared new models of machine learning (ML) and deep learning (DP) that are capable of exploring various applications of AI in cardiology, including areas such as prevention, cardiovascular imaging, electrophysiology, interventional cardiology, and many others. In this sense, the present article aims to provide a general vision of the current state of AI use in cardiology. Results: We identified and included a subset of 200 papers directly relevant to the current research covering a wide range of applications. Thus, this paper presents AI applications in cardiovascular imaging, arithmology, clinical or emergency cardiology, cardiovascular prevention, and interventional procedures in a summarized manner. Recent studies from the highly scientific literature demonstrate the feasibility and advantages of using AI in different branches of cardiology. Conclusions: The integration of AI in cardiology offers promising perspectives for increasing accuracy by decreasing the error rate and increasing efficiency in cardiovascular practice. From predicting the risk of sudden death or the ability to respond to cardiac resynchronization therapy to the diagnosis of pulmonary embolism or the early detection of valvular diseases, AI algorithms have shown their potential to mitigate human error and provide feasible solutions. At the same time, limits imposed by the small samples studied are highlighted alongside the challenges presented by ethical implementation; these relate to legal implications regarding responsibility and decision making processes, ensuring patient confidentiality and data security. Summary: Where the response variable in a big dataset is consistent with the variable of interest for small area estimation, the big data by itself can provide the estimates for small areas. These estimates are often subject to the coverage and measurement error bias inherited from the big data. However, if a probability survey of the same variable of interest is available, the survey data can be used as a training dataset to develop an algorithm to impute for the data missed by the big data and adjust for measurement errors. In this paper, we outline a methodology for such imputations based on an k‐nearest neighbours (kNN) algorithm calibrated to an asymptotically design‐unbiased estimate of the national total, and illustrate the use of a training dataset to estimate the imputation bias and the "fixed‐k asymptotic" bootstrap to estimate the variance of the small area hybrid estimator. We illustrate the methodology of this paper using a public‐use dataset and use it to compare the accuracy and precision of our hybrid estimator with the Fay–Harriot (FH) estimator. Finally, we also examine numerically the accuracy and precision of the FH estimator when the auxiliary variables used in the linking models are subject to undercoverage errors. What constitutes good intelligence is best understood by practitioners but has not been explored through empirical analysis and in the context of a digital age. This paper presents the first research inside all the agencies that form the Australian National Intelligence Community exploring how they are impacted by big data. Intelligence is often opaque to outsiders, yet understanding the characteristics of good intelligence is important to societies that rely on intelligence agencies for national security. This paper reflects the previously unheard perspectives of members of the agencies that form the Australian National Intelligence Community – where there is a significant empirical gap. Semi-structured interviews with 47 participants explored the impact of big data on intelligence and decision-making in Australia. This paper finds that intelligence must meet the following characteristics, many established in historical literature, in order to be considered good intelligence; (i) timely, (ii) purposeful, (iii) actionable, (iv) accurate, (v) provides value-add for an intended audience, and, (vi) is unbiased. The paper reports findings from a study that examining how cross-platform social media analysis can help to map the digital discourse on sustainable mobility and sustainable transport, and enhance the understanding of sociotechnical low-carbon transport transitions. Using the hashtag search queries #sustainabletransport and #sustainablemobility, 33,121 Tweets (2013–2021) and 8,089 Instagram images including captions (2017/2018–2021) were scraped using the Python modules Twint and Instaloader. Quantitative text and sentiment analyses were applied to the Tweets and image captions. Additionally, an automated machine learning-based image analysis of the Instagram images was conducted using object detection via OpenCV. Synthesized results formed the base for a cross-platform analysis inspired by Rogers' method comprising hot topics/key themes, user mentions, sentiment polarity, and co-hashtags. Notably, electromobility emerged as a prominent theme, particularly on Instagram, while #sustainabletransport was closely associated with active travel, notably bicycling, and #sustainablemobility showcased a dominance of electromobility discourse. The study demonstrates the investigative potentials of cross-platform social media analysis studies to enhance the understanding of sociotechnical low-carbon transport transitions. Water constitutes an indispensable resource crucial for the sustenance of humanity, as it plays an integral role in various sectors such as agriculture, industrial processes, and domestic consumption. Even though water covers 71% of the global land surface, governments have been grappling with the challenge of ensuring the provision of safe water for domestic use. A contributing factor to this situation is the persistent contamination of available water sources rendering them unfit for human consumption. A common contaminant, pesticides are not frequently tested for despite their serious effects on biodiversity. Pesticide determination in water quality assessment is a challenging task because the procedures involved in the extraction and detection are complex. This reduces their popularity in many monitoring campaigns despite their harmful effects. If the existing methods of pesticide analysis are adapted by leveraging new technologies, then information concerning their presence in water ecosystems can be exposed. Furthermore, beyond the advantages conferred by the integration of wireless sensor networks (WSNs), the Internet of Things (IoT), Machine Learning (ML), and big data analytics, a notable outcome is the attainment of a heightened degree of granularity in the information of water ecosystems. This paper discusses methods of pesticide detection in water, emphasizing the possible use of electrochemical sensors, biosensors, and paper-based sensors in wireless sensing. Developing and executing large-scale data analysis applications in parallel and distributed environments can be a complex and time-consuming task. Developers often find themselves diverted from their application logic to handle technical details about the underlying runtime and related issues. To simplify this process, ParSoDA, a Java library, has been proposed to facilitate the development of parallel data mining applications executed on HPC systems. It simplifies the process by providing built-in scalability mechanisms relying on the Hadoop and Spark frameworks. This paper presents ParSoDA-Py, the Python version of the ParSoDA library, which allows for further support of commonly used runtimes and libraries for big data analysis. After a complete library redesign, ParSoDA can be now easily integrated with other Python-based distributed runtimes for HPC systems, such as COMPSs and Apache Spark, and with the large ecosystem of Python-based data processing libraries. For solving the storage and indexing problem of big data, this paper proposes a big data storage algorithm and an indexing algorithm, respectively. Simultaneously, the data classification and segmentation algorithm is given, and then, the classified data are segmented and sliced based on features of data. Moreover, the calculation of the service queue length on data slicing is given to achieve fast storage of slices in the data server. A data reconstruction method is given to index each slice of the original data and implement the data reconstruction according to the given reconstruction method. At the same time, an evaluation method for data reconstruction is also given to achieve the minimum difference between the reconstructed data and the original data. Simulation results show that the accurate rate of the data reconstruction method proposed in this paper is higher than 93%. In addition, compared with the existing data reconstruction methods, it is found that it not only has higher reconstruction accurate rate, faster reconstruction process, stronger anti-interference ability, but also lower information loss. These researches in this paper provide the powerful methods for protecting important documents, reducing losses, reducing waste of resources, and improving the convenience, speed, and safety in work, life, and so on. Uveitis is a heterogeneous collection of infrequent diseases, which poses significant challenges to cost-effective research in the field. Medical registries are being increasingly recognized as crucial tools to provide high-quality data, thus enabling prospective clinical research. This paper describes the design and technical structure development of an innovative countrywide electronic medical record for uveitis, Uveite.pt, and gives an overview of the cohort registered since its foundation, March 2020. Uveite.pt is an electronic medical record platform developed by the Portuguese Ocular Inflammation Group (POIG), a scientific committee of the Portuguese Ophthalmology Society. This is a nationwide customized web-based platform for uveitis patients useful for both clinical practice and real-world-based research, working as a central repository and reporting tool for uveitis. This paper describes the technical principles, the design and the development of a web-based interoperable registry for uveitis in Portugal and provides an overview of more than 400 patients registered in the first 18 months since inception. In infrequent diseases, the existence of registries enables to gather evidence and increase research possibilities to clinicians. The adoption of this platform enables standardization and improvement of clinical practice in uveitis. It is useful to apprehend the repercussion of medical and surgical treatments in uveitis and scleritis, supporting clinicians in the strict monitoring of drug adverse reactions and surgical outcomes. MOTIVATION: With the enhancement of people's awareness of the protection of personal privacy information, how to provide better services on the premise of protecting users' privacy has become an urgent problem to be solved. Therefore, it is a necessary motivation to build a network intelligent platform for privacy protection and integrated big data mining. OBJECTIVE: In view of the existing network platform of data privacy leakage, low efficiency of data mining and user satisfaction is not high, this paper will adopt advanced privacy technology, to ensure the confidentiality of users' personal information and security, to enhance the user trust and use experience, to better meet the needs of users. METHODS: In order to better protect the privacy of users, the network intelligent platform should adopt more advanced privacy protection technology. This paper uses the differential privacy algorithm to reduce the risk of data leakage and abuse, and ensure the accuracy and efficiency of data analysis and mining. In the design of the platform, the performance of the platform is fully taken into account to realize the secure storage and efficient processing of data, with good scalability and flexibility to meet the growing user needs and business needs. The performance of the network intelligent platform is also analyzed by experimental simulation. RESULT: The experimental results of this article indicated that in a network intelligent platform based on privacy protection and integrated big data mining, its data transmission encryption score was 9.5; the data storage encryption score was 9.8; the score of access control mechanism was 9.3; the privacy protection score was 9.6; the response time was 80 ms; the processing speed was 121GB/h; the user satisfaction rating was 6.6. CONCLUSION: This indicated that the network intelligent platform had good platform performance and user friendliness while ensuring data security and privacy protection. Summary: In the era of big data, massive amounts of data hold great value. However, much data exists as isolated islands, and the maximum value of the data cannot be fully utilized. Federated learning allows each client to train local data and then share the training model parameters securely, which can address the isolated data island problem and exploit data value while ensuring data privacy and security. Accordingly, in order to securely complete the electric power load forecasting using existing data, this paper constructs a federated learning‐based privacy‐preserving scheme to support electricity load forecasting in edge computing scenarios. To address the problems of the data‐isolated islands and data privacy in electric power systems, this paper proposes a decentralized distributed solution based on the federated learning technique. Our scheme achieves electricity load forecasting for power systems through the federated learning‐based framework and uses edge computing architecture to improve real‐time data capability and reduce network latency. For the hierarchical scheduling structure in power systems, we divide the system into a cloud‐side‐device three‐layer architecture, which achieves structural coordination and balance, and each layer collects information according to the scheduling control tasks, promoting scheduling effectiveness. Finally, different privacy protection methods are used on the cloud‐edge and edge‐device sides to significantly enhance data security. Moreover, We have conducted extensive experimental simulations for our proposed scheme. The experimental results show that the relative error of electricity load forecasting is around 1.580%. In order to understand the application of iot Big data information acquisition for heating control systems, a research on iot Big data information acquisition for thermal storage heating control systems is proposed. This paper first analyzes the shortcomings of the traditional heating system, the heating data is scattered and difficult to collect. The IoT technology is applied to the heating platform through data acquisition, data visualization, data mining, data management and other aspects. Secondly, the application of the IoT in heating system data acquisition is studied, including the types of heating data collected, data acquisition process, data acquisition standards, etc. Finally, this paper takes the energy-saving transformation of 26 boilers in a heating enterprise as an example. The research results show that the boiler efficiency obtained in real time by using the online monitoring system of this project is 95.36%, and the reverse balance boiler efficiency in the paper report of the special inspection office is 94.88%, with a deviation of 1.48%. The application of the IoT technology can obtain the boiler indicators in real time and effectively, and can realize the comprehensive analysis of the monitoring data, and realize the evaluation of the energy efficiency operation state of the gas boiler and the fault diagnosis and early warning. Since the outbreak of COVID-19 (Corona Virus Disease 2019), the Chinese government has taken strict measures to prevent and control the epidemic. Although the spread of the virus has been controlled, people's daily life and work have been affected and restricted to varying degrees. Thus people have different sentiments, these may affect people's implementation and compliance with the policies, thus affecting the effectiveness of epidemic prevention and control. At present, few pieces of literature have analyzed the relationships between people's feelings, policies, and epidemic trends. The object of this paper is to analyze the text content on social media, to find out the impact of the epidemic blockade policy on the public mood and the concerns expressed by the public about policies changes, and the interaction between policies and epidemic states at different stages of the epidemic. In this paper, we collected the posts of two cities where the epidemic occurred at the same time for analysis and comparative study. On the one hand, we revealed the changes in public attention and attitudes in the two regions during the epidemic, the other hand, it also reflects the differences in public sentiment between the two regions, as well as the correlation between emotions and policies and epidemic trends when different policies are adopted under different circumstances. Recently uncertainty analysis and its characterization have become more complex due to dark data sets. It has become more crucial in the education sector where a large number of dark datasets are generated, related to measuring student performance. This becomes more complex while dealing with linguistic information and its significance in student performance measurement. One reason for this is that these types of data are based on human quantum Turiyam consciousness and sometimes in an unconscious way. To deal with these types of dark data generated in unconscious way, this paper tries to introduce the linguistic Quadripartitioned single-valued neutrosophic set (LQSVNS). It defines each object of the universe by four independent linguistic variables known as truth, contradiction, unknown, and false. Some operations and properties based on LQSVNNs are extensively studied in this paper using a combination of soft set (SS) known as the linguistic Quadripartitioned single-valued neutrosophic soft set (LQSVNSS). Purpose: This paper aims to reveal the interdisciplinarity of information science (IS) from the perspective of the evolution of theory application. Design/methodology/approach: Select eight representative IS journals as data sources, extract the theories mentioned in the full texts of the research papers and then measure annual interdisciplinarity of IS by conducting theory co-occurrence network analysis, diversity measure and evolution analysis. Findings: As a young and vibrant discipline, IS has been continuously absorbing and internalizing external theoretical knowledge and thus formed a high degree of interdisciplinarity. With the continuous application of some kernel theories, the interdisciplinarity of IS appears to be decreasing and gradually converging into a few neighboring disciplines. Influenced by big data and artificial intelligence, the research paradigm of IS is shifting from a theory centered one to a technology centered one. Research limitations/implications: This study helps to understand the evolution of the interdisciplinarity of IS in the past 21 years. The main limitation is that the data were collected from eight journals indexed by the Social Sciences Citation Index and a small amount of theories might have been omitted. Originality/value: This study identifies the kernel theories in IS research, measures the interdisciplinarity of IS based on the evolution of the co-occurrence network of theory source disciplines and reveals the paradigm shift being happening in IS. The data mining is a tool of searching information from the data warehouse. Several mining algorithms exist in literature, one of the most common is the usual K-mean procedure. This generates centroids after every round of iteration. It is assumed that sample data is completely cleaned and noise free before the start of execution of the usual K-mean algorithm. If α% values are missing in sample data then after cleaning only (100-α)% values are available for the execution of the usual K-mean algorithm. Such bears a loss of information that affects the decision. This paper considers this problem and resolves such issue by replacing the missing data through imputed values calculated by the available values, called Mean Imputation (MI). It helps in financial risk analysis quite a lot because of risk prediction being taken on a larger sample (cleaned and imputed both). Several imputation procedures are available in literature. This paper considers the financial risk data as sample where the missing values of sample are imputed by the usual Mean-Imputation (MI) method and then on complete sample. Proposed MI-K-mean strategy is compared with no imputation usual procedure and found more efficient over the four-evaluation criterion of cluster formation while applying on risk data analysis. At the same time, we improve the large convolution kernel of the previous layers of the original AlexNet network and use batch normalization instead of the local response normalization (LRN) layer in the original model. (2) This paper proposes an evaluation method based on improved residual network, which improves the original residual block of the residual model and widens the residual block. The residual block can effectively reduce the amount of network parameters and improve the efficiency of network training. (3) This paper proposes an evaluation method of multi-scale feature fusion (MSFF). The features extracted from the improved AlexNet and residual network are fused and then evaluated. Modern electrical power systems are characterized by a high rate of transient processes, the use of digital monitoring and control systems, and the accumulation of a large amount of technological information. The active integration of renewable energy sources contributes to reducing the inertia of power systems and changing the nature of transient processes. As a result, the effectiveness of emergency control systems decreases. Traditional emergency control systems operate based on the numerical analysis of power system dynamic models. This allows for finding the optimal set of preventive commands (solutions) in the form of disconnections of generating units, consumers, transmission lines, and other primary grid equipment. Thus, the steady-state or transient stability of a power system is provided. After the active integration of renewable sources into power systems, traditional emergency control algorithms became ineffective due to the time delay in finding the optimal set of control actions. Currently, machine learning algorithms are being developed that provide high performance and adaptability. This paper contains a meta-analysis of modern emergency control algorithms for power systems based on machine learning and synchronized phasor measurement data. It describes algorithms for determining disturbances in the power system, selecting control actions to maintain transient and steady-state stability, stability in voltage level, and limiting frequency. This study examines 53 studies piled on the development of a methodology for analyzing the stability of power systems based on ML algorithms. The analysis of the research is carried out in terms of accuracy, computational latency, and data used in training and testing. The most frequently used textual mathematical models of power systems are determined, and the most suitable ML algorithms for use in the operational control circuit of power systems in real time are determined. This widespread adoption generates substantial amounts of educational data, commonly known as big data, necessitating innovative solutions for analysis and utilization. To solve these challenges, this paper proposes utilizing the Apriori algorithm—a data mining technique renowned for uncovering valuable patterns and associations within extensive datasets. This paper evaluates the impact of various information resources with differing quality, considering individuals' information literacy skills. Utilizing data mining techniques, it delves into university students' information literacy data, integrating it with the university library resources to establish a data-driven information literacy education model. It then focuses on criteria, components, and effective methods for instructing college students in information literacy. Finally, a diverse group of students, from first-year undergraduates to doctoral candidates at a specific university, is studied for their engagement in information literacy instruction. Based on the experimental findings, sophomore students exhibited the highest level of participation at 75.9% accuracy, while postgraduate students received more information literacy training than undergraduates and Ph.D. students. When comparing this method to others, such as SVM, KNN, LR, RF, and DT, it achieved superior performance. Additionally, the quality of information literacy training in university libraries was assessed through three dimensions: student learning, behavior, and achievements. In order to solve the problem of strain modal identification under strain monitoring signals with poor vibration modal information, this paper proposes a strain mode identification method with statistical stability significance. This method removes noise, vehicle-induced effects, and temperature effects from the original dynamic strain signal, retaining only vibration-related components, and obtaining a statistically stable high quality bridge strain power spectrum, thereby identifying high quality strain mode parameters. Furthermore, in order to verify the confidence level of the strain modes obtained by this method, this paper adopts the interval estimation method to estimate the power spectrum, natural frequency, damping ratio, and modal shape after statistical processing. The credibility of strain modes has been estimated by interval estimation. The confidence interval of 95% confidence for each modal parameter is obtained, achieving the confidence-level evaluation of corresponding variable modal parameter identification. The home is an ever-changing assemblage of technologies that shapes the organisation and division of housework and supports certain models of what that work entails, who does it and for what purposes. This paper analyses core tensions arising through the ways smart homes are embedding logics of digital capitalism into home life and labour. As a critical way of understanding these techno-political shifts in the means of social reproduction, we advance the concept of Big Mother – a system that, under the guise of maternal care, seeks to manage, monitor and marketise domestic spaces and practices. We identify three tensions arising in the relationships between care and control as they are mediated through the Big Mother system: (a) outsourcing autonomy through enhanced control and choice, (b) increased monitoring for efficient management and (c) revaluation of care through optimisation of housework. For each area, we explore how emerging technological capacities promise to enhance our abilities to care for our homes, families and selves. Yet, at the same time, these innovations also empower Big Mother to enrol people into new techniques of surveillance, new forms of automation and new markets of data. Our purpose in this paper is to push back against the influential ideas of smart homes based on luxury surveillance and caring systems by showing that they exist in constant relation with a supposedly antithetical version of the smart home represented by Big Mother. In recent years, significant progress has been made in the study of Chinese vocabulary acquisition, and the research content and scope have gradually expanded. Chinese vocabulary is the foundation for understanding and using language, and any language has developed on the basis of Chinese vocabulary. Many studies have shown that there are many factors that affect the acquisition of Chinese vocabulary, and the impact on Chinese vocabulary acquisition is also different. Among them, the influencing factors of Chinese vocabulary acquisition have gradually become a research hotspot, and a large number of related empirical studies have emerged. Based on the big data technology and the random effect model, this paper comprehensively analyzes whether the influencing factors of Chinese vocabulary acquisition as a second language are significant and investigates the effects of internal and external influencing factors, delayed post-test, specific factors and experimental interval time on the learning effect. External factors significantly impact Chinese vocabulary acquisition, including learning style, input factors and input methods. Through the subgroup analysis of the experimental interval, we find that the effect of Chinese vocabulary acquisition decreases with the extension of the experimental interval. Shake-table tests of a full-scale 3-story reinforced concrete frame building were performed at the E-Defense facility (Miki City, Japan) as part of the Tokyo Metropolitan Resilience Project. Building data were collected before and after each shake-table experiment, using light detection and ranging (lidar) scanning technology. Three-dimensional point clouds were generated and processed to investigate the damage features that can be extracted, which are important for postdisaster structural assessment purposes. To this end, this paper discusses aspects pertaining to lidar data processing and registration, calculation of residual displacements and interstory drifts, and concrete cracking and spalling identification and measurement. Most notably, this paper deals with very large data sets, processed to extract structural response information at both global and local scales. Limited multiscale work has been done in the past, and the different sets of challenges that arise have typically been addressed separately. Evidently, this gap needs to be filled before lidar can be effectively used in the field for structural assessment applications. A series of examples in which lidar data are processed and analyzed to assess specific structural components is illustrated, showing that point cloud data can indeed be processed to obtain measurements of global residual drifts or of the extent of visible damage (e.g., crack width and spalling). Although preliminary in nature, the results presented in this paper indicate that collecting postdisaster data using terrestrial lidar scanners has the potential to contribute improving how buildings are assessed in the aftermath of seismic events. Based on the thermal map generation method with the idea of pixel clustering, this strategy uses the image enhancement algorithm based on nonlinear transformation and pixel complement method to correct and optimize the display distortion problems existing in the head map. On this basis, the dynamic loading and drawing strategy and multi-thread real-time mapping strategy are proposed to generate the heat map of the ship’s historical activities. In recent years, cloud computing technologies have been developed rapidly in this computing world to provide suitable on-demand network access all over the world. A cloud service provider offers numerous types of cloud services to the user. But the most significant issue is how to attain optimal virtual machine (VM) allocation for the user and design an efficient big data storage platform thereby satisfying the requirement of both the cloud service provider and the user. Therefore, this paper presents two novel strategies for optimizing VM resource allocation and cloud storage. An optimized cloud cluster storage service is introduced in this paper using a binarization based on modified fuzzy c-means clustering (BMFCM) algorithm to overcome the negative issues caused by the repetitive nature of the big data traffic. The BMFCM algorithm utilized can be implemented transparently and can also address problems associated with massive data storage. The VM selection is optimized in the proposed work using a hybrid COOT-reverse cognitive fruit fly (RCFF) optimization algorithm. The main aim of this algorithm is to improve the massive big data traffic and storage locality. The CPU utilization, VM power, memory dimension and network bandwidth are taken as the fitness function of the hybrid COOT-RCFF algorithm. When implemented in CloudSim and Hadoop, the proposed methodology offers improvements in terms of completion time, overall energy consumption, makespan, user provider satisfaction and load ratio. With the rapid development of AI and big data mining technologies, computerized medical decision-making has become increasingly prominent. The aim of high-utility pattern mining (HUPM) is to discover meaningful patterns in medical databases that contribute to maximizing the utility from the perspective of diagnosis. However, HUPM pays less attention to the interpretability and explainability of these patterns in medical decision-making scenarios. This paper proposes a novel algorithm called the Improved fuzzy high-utility pattern mining (IF-HUPM) to address this problem. First, the paper applies a fuzzy preprocessing method to divide the fuzzy intervals of a medical quantitative data set, which enhances the fuzziness and interpretability of the data. Next, in the process of IF-HUPM, both fuzzy tree and list structures are employed to calculate fuzzy high-utility values. By combining the characteristics of the one-stage and two-stage algorithms of HUPM, an adaptive-phase Fuzzy HUPM hybrid frame is proposed. In order to enhance market share and competitiveness, large banks are increasingly focusing on promoting marketing strategies. However, the traditional bank marketing strategy often leads to the homogenization of customer demand, making it challenging to distinguish among various products. To address this issue, this paper presents a customer demand learning model based on financial datasets and optimizes the distribution model of bank big data channels through induction to rectify the imbalance in bank customer transaction data. By comparing the prediction models of random forest model and support vector machine (SVM), this paper analyzes the ability of the prediction model based on ensemble learning to significantly enhance the market segmentation of e-commerce banks. The empirical results reveal that the accuracy of random forest model reaches 92%, while the accuracy of SVM model reaches 87%. This indicates that the ensemble learning model has higher accuracy and forecasting ability than the single model. It enables the bank marketing system to implement targeted marketing, effectively maintain the relationship between customers and banks, and significantly improve the success probability of product marketing. Meanwhile, the marketing model based on ensemble learning has achieved a sales growth rate of 20% and improved customer satisfaction by 30%. This demonstrates that the implementation of the ensemble learning model has also significantly elevated the overall marketing level of bank e-commerce services. With the development of big data, the problem of imbalanced data sets is becoming more and more serious. When dealing with high-dimensional imbalanced datasets, traditional classification algorithms usually tend to favor the majority class and ignore the minority class, which results in poor classification performance. In this paper, we study the issue of high-dimensional imbalanced dataset classification and propose a feature selection algorithm based on density clustering and importance measure (DBIM). DBIM firstly constructs multiple balanced subsets by randomly under-sampling the majority classes with the same number of samples as the minority classes and uses DBSCAN as the base classifier. This process quickly discovers feature distribution features based on density and generates the initial feature subspace. To select features with a strong classification of class labels, we propose to rank and select the generated initial feature subspace according to their importance. To avoid the redundancy between features and generate high-quality feature subsets, we further propose to design a new class distribution-based weight index combined with the redundancy evaluation index in the DBIM algorithm to calculate between features. Experimental results on eight publicly available datasets show that the DBIM algorithm proposed in this paper can generate feature subsets with high relevance and low redundancy, and can effectively reduce the dimensionality of high-dimensional imbalanced datasets and improve the classification performance. This bibliometric research was done to look at and understand the trends regarding countries, organizations, authors, and keywords that are creating the most publications and citations in big data. This study was done to understand the current state of scientific publications in the field. The research used Web of Science (WoS) database information from 1993 to 2021. The study of 32,085 papers showed that, on average, each document has 14.7 citations and 3.46 citations per year. According to the results, the United States, China, and the United Kingdom have the most scholarly publications about big data. The Chinese Academy of Science, Harvard University, and Stanford University were the three most productive groups. Interval timing refers to the ability to perceive and remember intervals in the seconds to minutes range. Our contemporary understanding of interval timing is derived from relatively small-scale, isolated studies that investigate a limited range of intervals with a small sample size, usually based on a single task. Consequently, the conclusions drawn from individual studies are not readily generalizable to other tasks, conditions, and task parameters. The current paper presents a live database that presents raw data from interval timing studies (currently composed of 68 datasets from eight different tasks incorporating various interval and temporal order judgments) with an online graphical user interface to easily select, compile, and download the data organized in a standard format. The Timing Database aims to promote and cultivate key and novel analyses of our timing ability by making published and future datasets accessible as open-source resources for the entire research community. In the current paper, we showcase the use of the database by testing various core ideas based on data compiled across studies (i.e., temporal accuracy, scalar property, location of the point of subjective equality, malleability of timing precision). This paper aims to explore unsupervised cross-lingual word representation learning methods with the specific task of acquiring a bilingual translation lexicon on a monolingual corpus. Specifically, an unsupervised cross-lingual word representation co-training scheme based on different word embedding models is first designed and outperforms the baseline model. In this paper, we adeptly tackles the obstacles encountered in higher education foreign language teaching and underscores the necessity for inventive teaching methods, and design and implement a linear self-encoder-based principal component acquisition scheme for the interpoint mutual information matrix obtained from a monolingual corpus. And on top of this, a collaborative training scheme based on linear self-encoder for cross-language word representation is designed to improve the learning effect of cross-language word embedding. The results of the study show that the most obvious rise in the pre and post tests of the experimental class in the practical application of the foreign language teaching model based on the method of this paper is the word sense guessing, which rose by 23.12%. Sentence meaning comprehension increased by 23.39%, main idea by 16.61%, factual details by 15.47%, and inferential judgment by 10.28%. [Purpose/Significance] In recent years, the national leadership has attached great importance to the inheritance and innovation of China's excellent traditional culture, and the concepts of creative transformation and innovative development are constantly evolving. The Ministry of Science and Technology of China, among six departments, jointly formulated the "Guidelines for Promoting the Deep Integration of Culture and Technology", proposing to form a "cultural and technological integration innovation system covering key areas and critical links, to achieve the goal of in-depth integration of culture and technology". Intangible cultural heritage (ICH), as an essential part of China's excellent traditional culture, plays a crucial role in consolidating the sense of the Chinese national community and enhancing cultural self-confidence. This paper discusses the research paths for the creative transformation and innovative development of ICH in the context of culture and technology integration, emphasizing the significant role of modern technology in promoting the transformation and development of ICH. Data practices in biomedical research often rely on standards that build on normative assumptions regarding privacy and involve 'ethics work.' In an increasingly datafied research environment, identifiability gains a new temporal and spatial dimension, especially in regard to genomic data. In this paper, we analyze how genomic identifiability is considered as a specific data issue in a recent controversial case: publication of the genome sequence of the HeLa cell line. Considering developments in the sociotechnological and data environment, such as big data, biomedical, recreational, and research uses of genomics, our analysis highlights what it means to be (re-)identifiable in the postgenomic era. By showing how the risk of genomic identifiability is not a specificity of the HeLa controversy, but rather a systematic data issue, we argue that a new conceptualization is needed. With the notion of post-identifiability as a sociotechnological situation, we show how past assumptions and ideas about future possibilities come together in the case of genomic identifiability. We conclude by discussing how kinship, temporality, and openness are subject to renewed negotiations along with the changing understandings and expectations of identifiability and status of genomic data. Summary: Generalised linear mixed regression models are fundamental in statistics. Modelling random effects that are shared by individuals allows for correlation among those individuals. There are many methods and statistical packages available for analysing data using these models. Most require some form of numerical or analytic approximation because the likelihood function generally involves intractable integrals over the latents. The Bayesian approach avoids this issue by iteratively sampling the full conditional distributions for various blocks of parameters and latent random effects. Depending on the choice of the prior, some full conditionals are recognisable while others are not. In this paper we develop a novel normal approximation for the random effects full conditional, establish its asymptotic correctness and evaluate how well it performs. We make the case for hierarchical binomial and Poisson regression models with canonical link functions, for hierarchical gamma regression models with log link and for other cases. We also develop what we term a sufficient reduction (SR) approach to the Markov Chain Monte Carlo algorithm that allows for making inferences about all model parameters by replacing the full conditional for the latent variables with a considerably reduced dimensional function of the latents. We expect that this approximation could be quite useful in situations where there are a very large number of latent effects, which may be occurring in an increasingly 'Big Data' world. In the sequel, we compare our methods with INLA, which is a particularly popular method and which has been shown to be excellent in terms of speed and accuracy across a variety of settings. Our methods appear to be comparable to theirs in terms of accuracy, while INLA was faster, for the settings we considered. In addition, we note that our methods and those of others that involve Gibbs sampling trivially handle parameters that are functions of multiple parameters, while INLA approximations do not. Our primary illustration is for a three‐level hierarchical binomial regression model for data on health outcomes for patients who are clustered within physicians who are clustered within particular hospitals or hospital systems. Nowadays, computational intelligence-assisted autonomous assessment of education quality has become a more and more general concern in the area of smart education management. As education quality assessment is a complicated process with multiple heterogeneous factors, it remains challenging to make effective assessment using simple information modality and criteria. To deal with this issue, this paper introduces multiscale deep learning, and proposes a novel data-driven autonomous assessment framework for education quality. In particular, four aspects of heterogeneous indicators are selected as the basic indexes and a dilated convolutional neural network structure is formulated to perform multiscale feature extraction. Then, the structural equation is adopted to make multivariate characterization and output the final assessment results. At last, some simulations are carried out on realistic education operation data to evaluate the efficiency of the proposed autonomous assessment framework. Two aspects of findings can be deduced from the results. For one thing, multisource fusion of multiple indicators well makes sense to autonomous education assessment. The peculiar nonlinear optical responses of two-dimensional (2D) materials endow them highly attractive for photonics applications. This review systematically discusses the performance of pulsed lasers employing 2D materials as their modulation device. First, it is crucial to categorize 2D materials that can act as saturable absorbers, encompassing a range of substances such as Graphene, Black Phosphorus, Topological Insulators, MXene, and even heterojunction. Furthermore, a thorough investigation is conducted to analyze the performance indexes to study the nonlinear characteristics of 2D materials in the pulse generation. Especially, the focus is on the 1.5 μ m band ultrafast lasers utilizing 2D materials. Enormous information is an accumulation of vast measures of information that contains copied things gathered from different sources. Distinguishing copied information from enormous information is a difficult issue. In this paper secure deduplication scheme has been presented for huge information stockpiling. Customers may store and transmit data effectively and efficiently due to cloud service providers. Providers of cloud services are drawn to the application of data de-duplication tools to lower storage costs and conserve bandwidth. To secure the data they share on the cloud, users of the cloud are interested in having a secure and private connection. As a result, the priory is transferred to the cloud, and the data is encrypted. Because the encryption objective conflicts with the purpose of data deduplication, this feature presents a difficult problem. The author then suggested brand-new hybrid chunking methods to boost deduplication performance in cloud storage. Content-based hybrid chunking algorithm of Two Threshold Two Divisor (TTTD) with a Dynamic Prime Coding (DPC) algorithm is suggested for reducing the deduplication data. To increase throughput, which means reducing execution time and CPU resource utilisation, an index method must be incorporated into the deduplication matching process. For chunks with higher security levels, it offers greater security protection, while for chunks with lower security levels, it trades off security for greater deduplication effectiveness. When moving data to open, semi-trusted systems like public clouds, identity management, secure data exchange, and privacy preservation become more challenging than they are in closed, trusted systems where security and privacy can be controlled more simply. Accordingly, the article proposed a cross-domain authentication technique for the verification process. Evaluations of the real-world datasets show the efficiency of the design. With other methods, the proposed hybrid Content-based TTTD-DPC analyses many performance parameters, including chunk distribution, processing time, chunking time, throughput, average chunk size, and deduplication ratio. The deduplication system's total throughput and processing speed are both enhanced by the proposed approach. Wavelet neural networks (WNN) have been applied in many fields to solve regression as well as classification problems. After the advent of big data, as data gets generated at a brisk pace, it is imperative to analyze it as soon as it is generated owing to the fact that the nature of the data may change dramatically in short time intervals. This is necessitated by the fact that big data is all pervasive and throws computational challenges for data scientists. Therefore, in this paper, we built an efficient Scalable, Parallelized Wavelet Neural Network (SPWNN) which employs the parallel stochastic gradient algorithm (SGD) algorithm. SPWNN is designed and developed under both static and streaming environments in the horizontal parallelization framework. SPWNN is implemented by using Morlet and Gaussian functions as activation functions. This study is conducted on big datasets like gas sensor data which has more than 4 million samples and medical research data which has more than 10,000 features, which are high dimensional in nature. The experimental analysis indicates that in the static environment, SPWNN with Morlet activation function outperformed SPWNN with Gaussian on the classification datasets. However, in the case of regression, there is no clear trend was observed. In contrast, in the streaming environment i.e., Gaussian outperformed Morlet on the classification and Morlet outperformed Gaussian on the regression datasets. The layout, scale and spatial form of urban employment centers are important guidelines for the rational layout of public service facilities such as urban transportation, medical care, and education. In this paper, we use Internet cell phone positioning data to identify the workplace and residence of users in the Beijing city area and obtain commuting data of the employed to measure the employment center system in Beijing. Firstly, the employment density distribution is generated using the data of the working places of the employed persons, and the employment centers are identified based on the employment density of Beijing. Then, we use the business registration data of employment centers to measure the industrial diversity within the employment centers by using the ecological Shannon Wiener Diversity Index, and combine the commuting links between employment centers and places of residence to measure the energy level of each employment center, analyze the hinterland and sphere of influence of each center, and finally using the industrial diversity index of employment centers and the average commuting time of employed persons, combined with the K-Means clustering algorithm, to classify the employment centers in Beijing. The employment center identification and classification method based on big data constructed in this study can help solve the limitations of the previous employment center system research in terms of center identification and commuting linkage measurement due to large spatial units and lack of commuting data to a certain extent. The study can provide reference for the regular understanding and technical analysis of employment centers and provide help for the employment multi-center system in Beijing in terms of quantifying the employment spatial structure, guiding the construction of multi-center system, and adjusting the land use rules.
