Combining online and offline data collection during six months of ethnographic fieldwork in Southern Mozambique in early 2021, this paper explores how media and its everyday use in the Global South are impacting on, and are in turn being transformed by China. It specifically looks into the creative and personalised ways in which Chinese-made garments are sold and promoted in Mozambique via the messenger service WhatsApp. Examining how Mozambican and West African traders use WhatsApp groups and status updates to mediate the fashionability of these Chinese goods, this paper shows that the consequences of Chinese interactions with the Global South on the global media landscape transcend the mere spread of Chinese hardware and software. Going beyond dominant, state-centred narratives of Chinese influence abroad, this paper demonstrates the key role of individuals and their agency in shaping the digital impact of Global China. The pollution haven hypothesis is studied from a bilateral trade perspective in this study, taking the reference of two Asian giants, namely, India and China. For this purpose, trade in pollution-intensive industries is analysed using data collected from the United Nations Comtrade dataset based on Standard Industrial Trade Classification codes for 1992–2019. The analysis helps us argue that between the two, China's demand is more pollution-intensive and India is the major supplier of pollution-intensive products. In recent years, China's advanced light sources have entered a period of rapid construction and development. As modern X-ray detectors and data acquisition technologies advance, these facilities are expected to generate massive volumes of data annually, presenting significant challenges in data management and utilization. These challenges encompass data storage, metadata handling, data transfer and user data access. In response, the Data Organization Management Access Software (DOMAS) has been designed as a framework to address these issues. DOMAS encapsulates four fundamental modules of data management software, including metadata catalogue, metadata acquisition, data transfer and data service. For light source facilities, building a data management system only requires parameter configuration and minimal code development within DOMAS. This paper firstly discusses the development of advanced light sources in China and the associated demands and challenges in data management, prompting a reconsideration of data management software framework design. It then outlines the architecture of the framework, detailing its components and functions. Lastly, it highlights the application progress and effectiveness of DOMAS when deployed for the High Energy Photon Source (HEPS) and Beijing Synchrotron Radiation Facility (BSRF). Google Trends is a popular data source that has been utilized in hundreds of studies across various fields, including information technology, business, economics, healthcare, and political science. While several previous research has addressed sampling error issues, this article focuses on the measurement errors resulting from changes in Google Trends' data collection method. By examining key phrases such as 'covid-19,' 'decoupling China,' and 'debt trap diplomacy,' this article reveals that, after 2022 when the data collection method was updated, Google Trends generates search results for terms that were not yet coined or yields too few results. These 'strange' search results indicate the presence of measurement errors in Google Trends data. Scholars are advised to validate the contents of Google Trends data through additional steps. In particular, authors in fields like business, economics, and healthcare are encouraged to replicate their research conducted before 2022 to assess the forecasting errors arising from the new data sets retrieved after that period. Immunotherapy improves the prognosis of patients with advanced lung cancer. The expression level of PD-L1 in lung cancer tissue is the most reliable marker for predicting the efficacy of immunotherapy. However, the relationship between PD-L1 expression level and clinicopathological characteristics in patients with lung adenocarcinoma is unclear. The paper aims to analyze the correlation between PD-L1 expression and clinicopathological features in surgically resected lung adenocarcinoma. Clinicopathological data of 100 patients with surgically resected lung adenocarcinoma admitted to the Department of Thoracic Surgery of our hospital from January 2021 to August 2021 were retrospectively analyzed. Immunohistochemistry showed that 36 patients had positive PD-L1 results in postoperative tumor tissues (incidence rate, 36.0%). The tumor-node-metastasis stage, tumor stage, node stage, degree of differentiation, smoking history, and intravascular cancer embolus were statistically different between the two groups (P < 0.05). Multivariate logistic regression analysis showed that postoperative pathological stages above stage II, T3-4, N1-2, poorly differentiated tumors, and positive intravascular cancer embolus were independent factors for PD-L1 positive in lung adenocarcinoma tissue. To explore the functional mechanism of interest similarity in collaboration efficiency, this paper focuses on the process of technological collaboration from time and space dimensions. Specifically, I established a two-dimension model, from which the collaboration process was divided into initial and mature stages, considering time angle and was divided into intra-regional and trans-regional collaborations, considering the spatial angle. Collecting data from the National Natural Science Foundation of China, the results indicate that when technicians are in the same region, the more similar their interests, the higher their collaboration efficiency. When technicians carry out trans-regional collaboration, interest similarity has a U-shaped effect on collaboration efficiency in the initial stage of collaboration. Collaboration efficiency decreases due to the distrust of similar content distribution, and with the continuous consolidation of collaboration relationships, collaboration efficiency improves. This study uses data from a retrospective survey of the life history of participants from five cohorts born between 1930 and 1979, to analyze the role of adverse childhood experiences (ACEs). We found that ACEs have significant effects on the transition of young Chinese people into adulthood. Young people who have experienced more ACEs were more likely to transition to adulthood earlier, and accelerate their acceptance of adult social roles, and young adults with a high incidence of ACEs also have an increasing probability of falling into the disadvantaged or least successful trajectory to adulthood. More ACEs are associated with a decreased probability of being classified into the delayed and advantaged trajectories into adulthood characterized by high education and stable work, and an increased probability of being classified into the early and disadvantaged trajectories into adulthood characterized by unemployment, early marriage, and more children. Background: Community-acquired pneumonia (CAP) is a significant health issue among the elderly, with severe cases (SCAP) having high mortality rates. This study assesses the predictive significance of the stress hyperglycemia ratio (SHR) in elderly SCAP patients and its impact on outcomes in both diabetic and non-diabetic patients. Methods and materials: This retrospective study included 406 SCAP patients aged 65 or older from the Second People's Hospital of Lianyungang (January 2020 to December 2023). Data collected included demographics, medical history, vital signs, and lab results. SHR was calculated from initial blood glucose and estimated average glucose (HbA1c). Statistical analyses, including Cox regression and Kaplan-Meier analysis, evaluated SHR's impact on mortality. Mediation models explored the effects of neutrophil-lymphocyte ratio (NLR) and SHR. Results: The 28-day mortality rate was 21.67%. Deceased patients had higher age, Charlson Comorbidity Index, procalcitonin, NLR, glucose, and SHR levels compared to survivors (P < 0.05). Both SHR and NLR significantly increased mortality risk, particularly in non-diabetic patients. Combining NLR and SHR improved ROC AUC to 0.898, with 89.80% sensitivity and 81.10% specificity. Kaplan-Meier analysis showed higher cumulative survival for SHR < 1.14, regardless of diabetes status (P < 0.05). NLR mediated 13.02% of the SHR-survival relationship, while SHR mediated 14.06% of the NLR-survival relationship. Conclusion: Elevated SHR is a significant mortality risk factor in elderly SCAP patients, independent of diabetes status. Objective: The cingulate sulcus sign (CSS) has been observed in patients with idiopathic normal pressure hydrocephalus (iNPH), suggesting potential disruptions in cerebrospinal fluid circulation and compromised glymphatic system. Although there are similarities in the underlying mechanisms between cerebral small vessel disease (CSVD) and iNPH, the relationship between CSS and CSVD remains unclear. This study aimed to investigate the prevalence and potential mechanisms of CSS in patients with CSVD. Methods: Data from patients diagnosed with CSVD at Shengjing Hospital of China Medical University between January 2020 and October 2022 were retrospectively collected, including general information, global cognitive function [assessed by measuring Mini-Mental State Examination (MMSE)], and four CSVD magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) markers [(white matter hyperintensity (WMH), cerebral microbleeds (CMBs), lacunes, and enlarged perivascular spaces (EPVS)], CSS and the Evan's index (EI). Results: A total of 308 patients were included, and CSS was detected in 80 patients (26%). Univariate analysis revealed that MMSE scores in the CSS group were significantly lower compared to the non-CSS group (p < 0.001). Multivariable analysis showed an independent correlation between CSS and the presence of lacunes (odds ratio [OR] 0.358, 95% confidence interval [CI] 0.193-0.663, p = 0.001), presence of lobar dominant CMBs (OR 2.683, 95%CI 1.385-5.195, p = 0.003), periventricular WMH Fazekas score (OR 1.693, 95% CI 1.133-2.529, p = 0.01), and EI (OR 1.276, 95% CI 1.146-1.420, p < 0.001). Conclusion: This preliminary study showed that CSS can be observed in some patients with CSVD. Objectives: To evaluate the duration of subsyndromal delirium (SSD) in intensive care unit (ICU) patients and the factors associated with SSD duration. Methods: This retrospective study included adult patients admitted to the ICU of Affiliated Hospital of Nantong University between December 2019 and June 2020. All patients with Richmond Agitation Sedation Scale scores of ≥−2 were evaluated every 8 h using the confusion assessment method of the intensive care unit (CAM‐ICU) until the patients with SSD were negative, progressed to delirium, fell into a coma, died, or were discharged from the ICU. Multivariable Cox regression analyses were performed to determine the factors associated with SSD duration. Results: Of the 388 patients, 53.6% had SSD, and 20.7% progressed from SSD to delirium. The duration of SSD ranged from 8 to 248 h, and the median duration was 48 h (interquartile range, 24–72). Age (hazard ratio [HR] = 0.985, 95% confidence interval [CI], 0.971–0.999, p = 0.035), surgery or not (HR = 0.514; 95% CI, 0.310–0.850; p = 0.010), duration of ventilation (HR = 1.003; 95% CI, 1.000–1.006; p = 0.044), duration of hypoxia (HR = 0.212; 95% CI, 0.103–0.438; p < 0.001), and adapted cognitive exam scores (HR = 1.057; 95% CI, 1.030–1.085; p < 0.001) were independently associated with the duration of SSD. Conclusions: The duration of SSD was associated with age, surgery, duration of ventilation, duration of hypoxia, and cognitive function. SSD has a high incidence among ICU patients, and many patients progress to delirium. Group-based trajectory modeling (GBTM) allows the trajectory analyses of repeated N-terminal pro-brain natriuretic peptide (NT-proBNP) measurements during follow-up visits of pulmonary artery hypertension associated with connective tissue disease (CTD-PAH) patients. This study aimed to (1) identify trajectories of NT-proBNP changing over time, (2) explore the association between NT-proBNP trajectories and prognosis, and (3) explore the effects of baseline clinical characteristics on NT-proBNP trajectories. A retrospective, single-centred, observational study was performed on 52 CTD-PAH patients who had undergone at least three follow-up visits within 1 year from baseline. Four NT-proBNP trajectories were identified using GBTM: low stability (n = 15, 28.85%), early remission (remission within 3 months) (n = 20, 38.46%), delayed remission (remission after 6 or 9 months) (n = 11, 21.15%), and high stability (n = 6, 11.54%). The low-stability and early-remission trajectories were related to a similar positive prognosis, while the delayed-remission and high-stability trajectories were associated with a gradually worsening prognosis (p = 0.000). Intensive CTD immunotherapy (corticosteroids plus immunosuppressants) was the only factor that remained significant after least absolute shrinkage and selection operator regression and multivariate logistic regression, and was independently associated with a lower risk NT-proBNP trajectory (p = 0.048, odds ratio = 0.027, 95% confidence interval: 0.001–0.963), which preliminarily indicated a benefit of CTD-PAH patients undergoing intensive CTD immunotherapy. In China, the native people living in the society have great enthusiasm for their country and they always prefer using and consuming their homeland-manufactured products. Moreover, Chinese have their own culture in which they possess different arts and creative commodities consumption and purchasing to follow their traditional norms. This study investigates the patriotic nature of Chinese customers, who have a strong preference for their home-made products and cultural heritage. The research uses an empirical model to examine the relationship between animosity, ethnocentrism, country of origin, and country knowledge, as well as perceived warmth as a mediator. The study used a positivist philosophy with a deductive approach, using the S-O-R theory as the empirical support. Quantitative primary data was collected from 280 customers of blue and white ceramic products, with a total sample size of 280. The SEM technique revealed that country of origin and ethnocentrism significantly influences customer purchase intentions for ceramic products. Furthermore, the mediation analysis revealed that customer ethnocentrism indirectly impacts purchase intentions through perceived warmth. The study concludes that Chinese customers have a high devotion to their mother country's products, and the behavior of native sellers and general society people is crucial in stimulating their purchase intentions. Background: Acute closed midsubstance Achilles tendon rupture(ACMATR) is common, with various treatment methods developed over time. We retrospectively compared the two mini transverse-incision repair (2MTIR) with percutaneous repair (PR) to determine which method yields better results. Methods: All cases meeting criteria from 2018 to 2021 in our hospital were included and followed up for 1 to 5 years. A final questionnaire with multiple indexes was conducted via phone call. Comparative analysis of these indexes between the two groups was performed using IBM SPSS Statistics (V.26). Continuous variables that passed tests for normality and equal variance were compared using the Student's t-test. Ranked data were compared using the Mann-Whitney U test. Categorical variables were tested with the chi-square test or Fisher's exact test. A p-value of less than 0.05 was considered statistically significant. Results: There was one rerupture in the PR group. The final indexes for "Tightness Feeling", "Heel Rising Strength", and "Foot Numbness" were statistically different (P < 0.05) between the two groups. The "Re-rupture" and "Return to Sports" indexes showed no statistical difference (P > 0.05). Conclusions: The 2MTIR technique provided a technically straightforward, minimally invasive procedure with well-preserved paratenon and direct end-to-end firm fixation in cases of ACMATR. It resulted in very low complications, easy rehabilitation, and full weight-bearing as early as 5–6 weeks postoperatively, yielding better functional outcomes compared to the PR technique in the 1–5 year follow-up. Background: Constipation is common in elderly inpatients with intracerebral hemorrhage. This study aimed to construct a model for predicting the risk of constipation in elderly inpatients with intracerebral hemorrhage and to provide reference for formulating targeted intervention measures. Methods: Elderly patients with intracerebral hemorrhage who were treated in the department of Neurosurgery of a third-class hospital in Suzhou from January 2018 to September 2023 were included. Clinical data of patients with and without constipation were compared. Logistic regression analysis was used to explore the influencing factors of constipation in elderly patients with intracerebral hemorrhage, and R software was used to construct a line chart model to verify its predictive effect. Results: A total of 504 elderly patients with intracerebral hemorrhage were included. The incidence of constipation in elderly patients with cerebral hemorrhage was 63.9%. Logistic regression analysis showed that GCS score (OR = 1.094, 95%CI: 1.019∼1.174), hypertension (OR = 2.911, 95%CI: 1.797∼4.715), use of dehydrating agent (OR = 3.794, 95%CI: 2.337∼6.158), surgical treatment (OR = 3.986, 95%CI: 2.339∼6.793), use of sedative drugs (OR = 4.212, 95%CI:2.386-7.435), and limb paralysis (OR = 6.313, 95%CI:3.689∼10.803) were the independent risk factors for constipation in elderly patients with intracerebral hemorrhage. The area under the ROC curve of the prediction model was 0.872 (95%CI: 0.8401∼0.9033), the best critical value was 0.705, the sensitivity was 0.748, and the specificity was 0.857. Conclusion: The constipation risk prediction model of elderly patients with cerebral hemorrhage has good differentiation and calibration, which is helpful for health care providers to identify the risk of constipation in elderly patients with intracerebral hemorrhage. Background: Type 2 diabetes exposes the body to a state of high blood sugar for a long time and causes varying degrees of hardening of the arteries, making it more prone to cardiovascular emergencies. Objective: The aim of the study was to explore the risk factors of early arterial stiffness in patients with type 2 diabetes mellitus (T2DM). Methods: A retrospective study was conducted on 316 T2DM patients without macroangiopathy in The First Hospital of Qinhuangdao. Early arterial stiffness was evaluated by brachial-ankle pulse wave velocity (baPWV). Results: Ninety patients (28.5%) had baPWV≥1800cm/s. baPWV showed positive correlation with systolic blood pressure (r=0.456, p<0.001), diastolic blood pressure (r=0.133, p=0.018), urine albumin-creatinine ratio (UACR) (r=0.232, p<0.001), neutrophil lymphocyte ratio (NLR) (r=0.185, p=0.001), and visceral fat area (r=0.139, p=0.014). In multiple linear regression analysis, systolic blood pressure (β=6.240, p<0.001), UACR (β=3.805, p=0.019), NLR (β=43.722, p=0.013), and visceral fat area (β=0.778, p=0.030) were significant independent predictors for baPWV. Conclusion: The decline of arterial elasticity was common in T2DM patients without macroangiopathy. Objectives: Laryngeal squamous cell carcinoma (LSCC) is a common squamous cell carcinoma of the head and neck with no reliable diagnostic biomarkers. However, recent studies have shown that inflammation plays an essential role in tumor development, and several inflammation-based biomarkers have been shown to have prognostic value. This study aimed to investigate the auxiliary value of fibrinogen (FIB), fibrinogen degradation products (FDP), and lymphocyte/monocyte ratio (LMR) in LSCC diagnosis and prognosis. Methods: Clinical data from 218 patients recently diagnosed with LSCC and 207 diagnosed with benign laryngeal lesions (BLLs) were retrospectively reviewed. Potential diagnostic biomarkers were evaluated using univariate and multivariate analyses; receiver operating characteristic (ROC) curve analysis was used to identify cut-off values and diagnostic efficiency. Least absolute shrinkage and selection operator (LASSO) Logistic regression analysis was used to screen for independent risk factors to construct a diagnostic nomogram. The chi-squared test and Kaplan–Meier method were performed to investigate the correlation of clinicopathological characteristics and 3-year overall survival (OS) with FIB, FDP, and LMR in patients with LSCC. Results: FIB, FDP, and LMR levels were significantly different between the LSCC and BLL groups (P <.001), and all were independent risk factors for LSCC. The area under the ROC curve of the diagnostic nomogram was.894. Additionally, FIB, FDP, and LMR were correlated with some invasive clinicopathological features, and LMR ≥4.29 was associated with reduced OS (P =.038). Background: Adequate preoperative evaluation of the post-intubation hemodynamic instability (PIHI) is crucial for accurate risk assessment and efficient anesthesia management. However, the incorporation of this evaluation within a predictive framework have been insufficiently addressed and executed. This study aims to developed a machine learning approach for preoperatively and precisely predicting the PIHI index values. Methods: In this retrospective study, the valid features were collected from 23,305 adult surgical patients at Peking Union Medical College Hospital between 2012 and 2020. Three hemodynamic response sequences including systolic pressure, diastolic pressure and heart rate, were utilized to design the post-intubation hemodynamic instability (PIHI) index by computing the integrated coefficient of variation (ICV) values. Different types of machine learning models were constructed to predict the ICV values, leveraging preoperative patient information and initiatory drug infusion. The models were trained and cross-validated based on balanced data using the SMOTETomek technique, and their performance was evaluated according to the mean absolute error (MAE), root mean square error (RMSE), mean absolute percentage error (MAPE) and R-squared index (R2). Results: The ICV values were proved to be consistent with the anesthetists' ratings with Spearman correlation coefficient of 0.877 (P < 0.001), affirming its capability to effectively capture the PIHI variations. The extra tree regression model outperformed the other models in predicting the ICV values with the smallest MAE (0.0512, 95% CI: 0.0511–0.0513), RMSE (0.0792, 95% CI: 0.0790–0.0794), and MAPE (0.2086, 95% CI: 0.2077–0.2095) and the largest R2 (0.9047, 95% CI: 0.9043–0.9052). It was found that the features of age and preoperative hemodynamic status were the most important features for accurately predicting the ICV values. Conclusions: Our results demonstrate the potential of the machine learning approach in predicting PIHI index values, thereby preoperatively informing anesthetists the possible anesthetic risk and enabling the implementation of individualized and precise anesthesia interventions. Background and purpose: The systemic immune-inflammation index (SII), a novel inflammation index derived from the counts of circulating platelets, neutrophils and lymphocytes, has been studied in the treatment of acute cancer and ischemic stroke (AIS). However, the clinical value of the SII in postoperative delirium patients has not been further investigated. The purpose of our research was to study the incidence and preoperative risk factors for postoperative delirium (POD) and verify whether the SII could serve as a potential marker for POD in older intertrochanteric fracture patients. Finally, we created a novel nomogram for predicting POD in older patients with intertrochanteric fractures. Methods: We enrolled elderly patients with intertrochanteric fractures who underwent proximal femoral nail antirotation (PFNA) between February 2021 and April 2023. Univariate and multivariate logistic analyses were subsequently performed to confirm the risk factors and construct a nomogram model.Calibration curve and clinical decision curve analysis (DCA) were used to assess the model's fitting performance. The performance of the nomogram was evaluated for discrimination, calibration, and clinical utility. Results: A total of 293 patients were eligible for inclusion in the study, 25.6% (75/293) of whom had POD. The POD patients had higher SII values than the non-POD patients. The SII was strongly correlated with POD in older intertrochanteric fracture patients, and the optimal cutoff value was 752.6 × 109. Multivariate analysis revealed that age, diabetes, total albumin, SII > 752.6 × 109 and a CRP > 20.25 mg/L were independent risk factors for POD patients. By incorporating these 5 factors, the model achieved a concordance index of 0.745 (95% CI, 0.683–0.808) and had a well-fitted calibration curve and good clinical application value. Conclusion: The SII is a simple and valuable biomarker for POD, and the new nomogram model can be used to accurately predict the occurrence of POD. Background: The aim of this study was to investigate the impact of team relationship differentiation on team creativity from the perspective of psychological safety of teams in China. Methods: Qualitative research methods were used to conduct in-depth online and face-to-face interviews with respondents. The interviewees were 7 team leaders aged 23-43 years in the professional services, and retail and manufacturing sectors, which account for a large proportion of small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs). Data were collected by exploring the perspectives and experiences of the team leaders, analyzing the material in detail using content analysis, and then, managing and interpreting the data using NVivo software. Results: The results show that the effects of the differentiation of team relationships on team creativity are mainly reflected in two aspects: differentiation of exchange relationships between the leader and team member (leader-member exchange) and differentiation of relationships between team members. In particular, psychological safety in the team plays an important role as a bridge and mediator. Conclusion: It can be concluded thatin the case of different levels of team psychological safety, the difference of the relationship between superiors and subordinates and the relationship between team members will have difference in the impact strength of team creativity. If the impact of the differentiation of adjustment relationships on the team cannot be balanced, it will hinder the team's innovation activities and the improvement of team effectiveness, thus affecting the team's overall creativity. The safety condition assessment of prestressed concrete bridges is currently subject to great uncertainty due to the subjectivity of data collection and data types. This study proposes an improved evidence fusion method, improving the conventional Dempster–Shafer fusion method to reduce assessment inaccuracies caused by data uncertainty. Firstly, the uncertain analytic hierarchy process was applied to construct a three-level safety assessment model for 15 different indicators with their initial weights. Secondly, the fuzzy matter element theory was proposed to obtain basic probability assignments required for the evidence fusion. Finally, an improved evidence fusion method was proposed based on the evidence credibility and preprocessing corrections for highly conflicting evidence. In this study, a prestressed concrete bridge in eastern China was used as a case study to perform a comprehensive safety assessment and verify the effectiveness and practicality of the proposed method. The assessment results demonstrate that the improved fusion method in this study can deal with conflicting evidence better than existing fusion methods. Compared with conventional fuzzy AHP method, it has greater sensitivity to certain indicators with severe damages, which prevents those indicators from being overshadowed by other well-performing ones in the overall assessment. The current research delves into the correlation between corporate social responsibility (CSR) and the environmental performance (EP) of manufacturing enterprises in China. In addition, we examined the mediation impact of green innovation practices (GIP) on the interaction between CSR and EP. The study also looked at competitive advantage (CPA) as a moderator to see how it influences the connection between CSR and EP in dynamic capability view theory (DCV). A structured questionnaire was adapted to collect data from 910 manufacturing companies in Zhanjiang city, in Jiangsu province, China. The partial least squares (PLS-SEM) methodology analyzed the theoretical framework. The empirical findings are as follows: (1) CSR is a crucial predictor of EP. (2) GIP has a direct impact on EP. (3) GIP acts as a mediator in the CSR-EP connection, and (4) Lastly, the CPA strongly enhances the interaction between CSR and EP. These findings contribute practically and theoretically to understanding how CSR fosters EP, emphasizing the necessity for manufacturing companies to institute policies and initiatives for environmental sustainability and prioritize ecologically friendly practices to enhance EP. This article aims to examine the impact of developing and applying relationship intelligence in team-based practice to provide a clear understanding of the role relationship intelligence plays in team productivity in mainland China. Relationship intelligence, a component of emotional intelligence, focuses on interpersonal interactions that are crucial in team-building but receives less attention. Exploratory qualitative research was undertaken, with emotional intelligence as the theoretical framework and the input-process-output criteria indicating group effectiveness. Data collection was based on semi-structured interviews with managers and staff of the private sector based in mainland China after utilizing the Strengths Deployment Inventory 2.0 as a learning tool. The findings identify three ways in which the integration of relationship intelligence positively affected team practice: high overall performance, a positive work climate, and improved attitudes toward coworkers and work-related tasks. The positive outcomes provide researchers and practitioners with valuable information on how relationship intelligence might be leveraged to enhance communication, collaboration, and overall team performance. Background: Senile epilepsy and its comorbidities pose a tremendous burden on patients and the society. This study was aimed to investigate the clinical characteristics and comorbidities of senile epilepsy, as well as the impact of comorbidities on the prognosis of senile epilepsy. Methods: Information of patients with senile epilepsy was retrospectively collected from three tertiary hospitals in Southwest China between December 2014 and December 2022. A total of 154 patients met the inclusion criteria and were divided into two groups based on the presence or absence of comorbidities. The prevalence, type, characteristics, and impacts of the comorbidities were investigated. The characteristics of patients with and without comorbidities were also compared. Results: Eighty-one percent of patients with senile epilepsy had at least one comorbidity, and 36% had three or more comorbidities. Eighteen different types of comorbidities were identified. The most common comorbidities were neurological (61%), followed by cardiovascular (45%) and psychiatric (26%) comorbidities. More than one-third of patients had bidirectional comorbidities, whereas more than half of the patients had additional causal comorbidities. Among all types of comorbidities, neurological and psychiatric comorbidities were found to be associated with an increased risk of recurrent seizures. Compared to patients without bidirectional comorbidities, those with at least one bidirectional comorbidity had a lower rate of achieving seizure freedom. The higher the number of bidirectional comorbidities, the lower the seizure-free rate. Survival analysis revealed that patients with neurological comorbidities had a higher risk of death. Conclusions: This study revealed a high comorbidity rate and a low seizure-freedom rate among patients with senile epilepsy. In particular, neuropsychiatric comorbidities can increase the risk of seizures and affect the survival rate of patients with senile epilepsy. The concept of depoliticisation has become increasingly popular in Western governance studies. However, empirical analysis of depoliticisation processes in non-democratic political regimes is less prevalent. This article addresses this gap through an examination of China's recent efforts to depoliticise the sport sector, using football as a trial. Documentary analysis and semi-structured interviews were adopted for data collection. Specifically, we delineated the principles adopted, activities occurred, and tools used for football depoliticisation at three political levels (macro, meso and micro), highlighting the inconsistencies between the desired outcomes and strategies for depoliticisation. We reveal that the depoliticisation of Chinese football is a convoluted and incremental process and various depoliticisation strategies were used in an attempt to reform the football governance system. A nexus between depoliticisation and (re)politicisation constantly emerged due to factors such as historic path dependency and the lack of determination of the government to fully relinquish control. Objective: The purpose of this study was to evaluate the effectiveness of cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT) for Chinese diabetic patients suffering from depression. Method: Following the Preferred Reporting Items for Systematic Reviews and Meta-Analyses guidelines, we researched seven electronic databases and two professional websites. Publication bias was assessed using funnel plot. Meta-analysis was conducted using meta-regression with robust variance estimation. Results: Final analysis included a total of 23 controlled trials containing 201 effect size estimates (including 5025 participants). Subgroup analyses indicated significant treatment effects for (1) depression outcomes, anxiety outcomes, psychological stress/distress outcomes, physiological outcomes, and general wellness outcomes, (2) studies with/without manuals, (3) studies using individual-based/group-based CBT, (4) studies in person/assisted with technology, and (5) studies providers with/without training. The treatment outcomes and intervention composition (CBT only versus CBT plus other approaches) were significant moderators. This study aims to explore the mediating role of mental imagery in the relationship between alexithymia and parental psychological control among Chinese university students. Conducted between March and April 2023, this descriptive study involved 282 volunteer participants from a university in southern China. Data collection included the Toronto Alexithymia Scale (TAS), the Parental Psychological Control Scale (PPC), and the Vividness of Visual Mental Imagery questionnaire (VVIQ). The results revealed that: (1) based on established cut-off, 81 students were identified as highly alexithymic; (2) the alexithymia group scored higher on both the TAS and PPC and lower on the VVIQ compared to the non-alexithymia and possible-alexithymia groups; and (3) mediating analysis demonstrated a strong and positive correlation between parental psychological control and alexithymia for all participants, with visual mental imagery mediating this relationship. This study underscores the interconnectedness of parental psychological control, visual mental imagery, and alexithymia among college students. Background: This study aimed to investigate the clinicopathological features and prognostic indicators of primary pulmonary adenoid cystic carcinoma (PACC). Methods: Clinical data were collected from 64 primary PACC patients and analyzed retrospectively at the Tianjin Medical University General Hospital, the West China Hospital of Sichuan University, the First Affiliated Hospital of Guangxi Medical University, and the Bishan Hospital of Chongqing Medical University from January 2003 to August 2023. The 64 patients (28 males and 36 females) were aged from 20 to 73 years, with a median age of 49 years and an average age of 49.3 years. Results: Immunohistochemical staining showed that the tumors expressed CK7, S‐100 protein, CK5/6, CD117, and p63. Seven patients underwent fluorescence in situ hybridization (FISH) testing and three were found to have myeloblastosis (MYB) gene translocation. In total, 53 patients underwent surgery, among whom 31 received only surgery and 22 received both surgery and postoperative chemoradiotherapy. In addition, 10 patients received chemoradiotherapy only, while one patient underwent treatment with traditional Chinese medicine. The overall survival rates in the first, third, and fifth years were 98.4%, 95.3%, and 87.5%, respectively. Conclusion: Prognostic analysis revealed that age, tumor size, lymph node metastasis status, margin status, and choice of treatment modality significantly influenced the patients' prognosis. We investigated the association between anemia status and the risk of heart failure (HF) in patients with coronary heart disease (CHD) based on a multi-center, large-sample and retrospective cross-sectional study including 89,207 patients. Heart failure was categorized as HF with reduced ejection fraction (HFrEF), HF with preserved ejection fraction (HFpEF), and HF with mid-range ejection fraction (HFmrEF). In multi-adjusted models, compared with patients without anemia, mild anemia (odds ratio [OR] 1.71; 95% confidence interval [CI] 1.53–1.91; P <.001), moderate anemia (OR 3.68; 95% CI, 3.25–4.17; P <.001), and severe anemia (OR 8.02; 95% CI, 6.50–9.88; P <.001) were associated with the risk of HF among CHD patients. Men aged <65 years were more likely to develop HF. In subgroup analyses, the multi-adjusted ORs and 95% CI of HFpEF, HFrEF, and HFmrEF related to anemia were 3.24 (95% CI 1.43–7.33), 2.22 (95% CI 1.28–3.84), and 2.55 (95% CI 2.24–2.89), respectively. Background: Studies on antiretroviral therapy (ART) in children living with HIV (CLHIV) are limited due to the small population and low accession rate of ART. Methods: All 0-14-year-old CLHIV admitted to the Ganzhou Center for Disease Control and Prevention from January 2006 to June 2023 were included retrospectively. The information of treatment regimens, disease progression, and laboratory tests of the patients under ART were used to explore the outcomes and impacts of long-term ART. The normality of all the data was tested by the Shapiro-Wilk test. Results: From 2006 to 2023, 18 CLHIV were reported in Ganzhou. Among them, 11 received ART and were followed up for 60.0 ± 48.4 months. After receiving ART, the median viral load of them decreased from 89,600 copies/ml to 22 copies/ml (P = 0.007), the median CD4+ T cell count increased from 380.7 cells/µL to 661.9 cells/µL (P = 0.028), and the median CD8+ T cell count decreased from 1065.8 cells/µL to 983.3 cells/µL (P = 0.584). The laboratory test results regarding liver function, renal function, blood cell count, and glucolipid metabolism tended to be within normal reference ranges, and the mean height-for-age z-score and weight-for-age z-score increased. However, all the three CLHIV who received cotrimoxazole developed pneumocystis carinii pneumonia, upper respiratory infection, skin lesions, bacterial pneumonia and/or thrush; the mean body-mass-index-for-age z-score decreased from 0.52 to -0.63. Conclusion: For CLHIV, ART could effectively inhibit the replication of HIV and improve the immune function of patients. More studies that focus on ART in CLHIV are urgently needed. Background: Previous studies have examined anesthetics to improve postoperative prognosis after knee arthroscopic surgery. However, it is currently unknown whether perioperative anesthetics can influence postoperative hospital stay. We investigated the impact of esketamine after knee arthroscopic surgery on post-operative length of stay, fever and surgical site infection. Methods: This study included 455 patients who underwent knee surgery between January2020 and August 2021at a tertiary hospital in China. Patient characteristics, preoperative laboratory values, intra-operative anesthetic data, and postoperative outcomes were collected. Univariate and multivariate logistic regression analyses with or without propensity score matching were performed to identify factors related to post-operative discharge within 3 days(PD3). Results: A total of 297 cases met our inclusion criteria. The mean age of patients was 42 ± 14 years, mean body mass index, 24.1 ± 3.5 kg/m2, 157(53%) patients were male. Meniscus-related procedures accounted for the most part of all the procedures with a percentage of 40.4%, followed by combined procedures of 35.4%. After we adjusted for demographic and intraoperative characteristics with propensity score matching, esketamine use was significantly associated with PD3 with the highest odds ratio of 2.28 (95% confidence interval (CI): 1.18–4.41, p = 0.014). Conclusion: Esketamine use was associated with PD3 in patients underwent knee arthroscopic surgery. The findings of this study will be useful to anesthesiologists in making informed decisions regarding the choice of anesthetics for knee joint diseases. Purpose : Treatment with immune checkpoint inhibitors (ICIs) improves the prognoses of patients with non-small cell lung cancer (NSCLC) but is ineffective in some patients. The lung immune prognostic index (LIPI) can predict response to ICIs treatment in European patients with NSCLC. This study assessed the correlation of LIPI score with outcomes in Chinese patients with advanced NSCLC receiving ICIs. Methods: A total of 305 Chinese patients with advanced NSCLC who received ICIs were ultimately included. LIPI score was determined by a high derived neutrophil-to-lymphocyte ratio (dNLR > 3) and elevated lactate dehydrogenase (LDH) and classified as "good" (0), "intermediate" (1), or "poor" (2). The effects of baseline LIPI on overall survival (OS), progression-free survival (PFS), disease control rate (DCR), and overall response rate (ORR) were analyzed. Results: The good LIPI group had better OS (26.0 months, P < 0.0001) and PFS (10.5 months, P < 0.0001) than the other two groups, but the three groups had similar ORR (P = 0.222). DCR was 79%, 65%, and 47% in the good, intermediate, and poor LIPI groups, respectively (P = 0.002). Multivariate analysis indicated that an intermediate LIPI score (HR = 1.56, P = 0.005) and a poor LIPI score (HR = 2.68, P < 0.001) were independent predictors of poor OS. The findings were similar for PFS. DCR had a significant negative correlation with the LIPI score (P = 0.045). Conclusion: Our results confirmed that a good LIPI score was related to prolonged survival and better response to ICIs in Chinese patients with advanced NSCLC.
