Aims: The extent of perihematomal edema following intracerebral hemorrhage (ICH) significantly impacts patient prognosis, and disruption of the blood–brain barrier (BBB) exacerbates perihematomal edema. However, the role of peripheral IL‐10 in mitigating BBB disruption through pathways that link peripheral and central nervous system signals remains poorly understood. Methods: Recombinant IL‐10 was administered to ICH model mice via caudal vein injection, an IL‐10‐inhibiting adeno‐associated virus and an IL‐10 receptor knockout plasmid were delivered intraventricularly, and neurobehavioral deficits, perihematomal edema, BBB disruption, and the expression of JAK1 and STAT3 were evaluated. Results: Our study demonstrated that the peripheral cytokine IL‐10 mitigated BBB breakdown, perihematomal edema, and neurobehavioral deficits after ICH and that IL‐10 deficiency reversed these effects, likely through the IL‐10R/JAK1/STAT3 signaling pathway. With the energy structure transition and the development of the green power market, the role of electricity retailers in multi-market green power trading has become more and more important. Particularly in China, where aggressive green energy policies and rapid market transformations provide a distinct context for such studies, the challenges are pronounced. Under demand-side response, electricity retailers face the uncertainty of users' electricity consumption and incentives, which complicates decision-making processes. The purpose of this paper is to explore the optimization decision-making problem of multi-market green power trading for electricity retailers under demand-side response, with a special focus on the Chinese market due to its leadership in implementing substantial green energy initiatives and its potential to set precedents for global practices. We first construct a two-party benefit optimization model, which comprehensively considers the profit objectives for electricity retailers and utility maximization for users. Then, the model is solved by the Lagrange multiplier method and distributed subgradient algorithm to obtain the optimal solution. Finally, the effectiveness of the incentive optimization strategy under the multi-market to promote green power consumption and improve the profit of electricity retailers is verified by arithmetic simulation. The results of this study show that the incentive optimization strategy under multi-market, particularly within the Chinese context, is expected to provide a reference for electricity retailers to develop more flexible and effective trading strategies in the green power market and to contribute to the process of promoting green power consumption globally. A simple method for the preparation of N-phenylbenzamides from azidobenzenes and 1,3-diphenylpropane-1,3-diones is described. This paper investigates the problem of fixed-time synchronization of time-varying coupled competitive neural networks with impulsive effects. Synchronizing impulses and desynchronizing impulses are each taken into account. The innovative pure power-law control is designed in this paper to avoid vibratory behaviors, which is more straightforward and effective than the common design including the linear and power-law terms. Note that the key difficulty is determining how to ensure fixed-time synchronization and estimate the settling time in an impulsive sense since the impulsive influences may lead to the discontinuity of the states. However, the theoretical framework of fixed-time synchronization under desynchronizing impulses has not been constructed much in the existing literature, which deeply motivated us to contribute to this analysis. By using the average impulsive intervals method, graph theory, and the Lyapunov method, two cases of the settling time along with the fixed-time synchronization criteria regarding the synchronizing and desynchronizing impulses are given. Background: Itch is the most common symptom of atopic dermatitis (AD) and significantly decreases the quality of life. Skin microbiome is involved in AD pathogenesis, whereas its role in the regulation of itch remains elusive. In this study, we aimed to investigate the effects of skin microbial metabolite propionate on acute and chronic pruritus and to explore the mechanism. Methods: Using various mouse models of itch, the roles of propionate were explored by behavioral tests and histopathology/immunofluorescent analysis. Primary‐cultured dorsal root ganglion neurons and HEK293 cells expressing recombinant human TRP channels were utilized for in vitro calcium imaging/in vivo miniature two‐photon imaging in combination with electrophysiology and molecular docking approaches for investigation of the mechanism. Results: Propionate significantly alleviated itch and alloknesis in various mouse models of pruritus and AD and decreased the density of intraepidermal nerve fibers. Propionate reduced the responsiveness of dorsal root ganglion neurons to pruritogens in vitro, attenuated the hyper‐excitability in sensory neurons in MC903‐induced AD model, and inhibited capsaicin‐evoked hTRPV1 currents (IC50 = 20.08 ± 1.11 μM) via interacting with the vanilloid binding site. Propionate also decreased the secretion of calcitonin gene‐related peptide by nerves in MC903‐induced AD mouse model, which further attenuated itch and skin inflammation. Conclusion: Our study revealed a protective effect of propionate against persistent itch through direct modulation of sensory TRP channels and neuropeptide production in neurons. A series of imidazolium-functionalized poly(phenylene oxide) (QPPO) cross-linked with polybenzimidazole (PBI) (cQPPOx-PBI) membranes were prepared. Compared to the pure PBI membrane without a cross-linked structure nor imidazolium groups, the cQPPOx-PBI membranes showed enhanced toughness, phosphoric acid (PA) retention, and chemical stability. The cQPPOx-PBI membranes showed a enhanced PA uptake than that of PBI membranes, and the cQPPO35-PBI membrane achieves a high conductivity of 139 mS cm−1 at 160 °C, which is much higher than that of PBI membrane under the same conditions (26 mS cm−1). The performance of the single fuel cell assembled with the obtained membranes showed a similar trend as their conductivity, and the cell with cQPPO35-PBI showed a maximum power density of 344 mW cm−2 at 140 °C, while the value for PBI membrane was only 175 mW cm−2 under the same conditions. Herein, a straightforward method was developed for introducing imidazolium groups and cross-linked structures, which can be employed to prepare PEMs with enhanced performance for HT-PEMFCs application. Wastewater containing organic dyes has become one of the important challenges in water treatment due to its high salt content and resistance to natural degradation. In this work, a novelty adsorbent, PEI-SMA, was prepared by grafting polyethyleneimine (PEI) onto styrene-maleic anhydride copolymer (SMA) through an amidation reaction. The various factors, such as pH, adsorbent dosage, contact time, dye concentration, and temperature, which may affect the adsorption of PEI-SMA for Reactive Black 5 (RB5), were systematically investigated by static adsorption experiments. The adsorption process of PEI-SMA for RB5 was more consistent with the Langmuir isotherm model and the pseudo-second-order model, suggesting a single-layer chemisorption. PEI-SMA exhibits excellent adsorption performance for RB5 dye, with a maximum adsorption capacity of 1749.19 mg g–1 at pH = 2. Additionally, PEI-SMA exhibited highly efficient RB5 competitive adsorption against coexisting Cl− and SO42− ions and cationic dyes. The adsorption mechanism was explored, and it can be explained as the synergistic effect of electrostatic interaction, hydrogen bonding and π–π interaction. Pandemics refract sociopolitical tensions within societies and highlight how national belonging hinges on informal performances as much as legal status. While return migration has become a common practice and institutionalized strategy of state development, little scholarly work has probed how domestic populations view returnees and their claims to national membership. Using a large-scale, pre-registered online survey experiment deploying a give-or-take Dictator Game, this paper leverages the dynamics of COVID-19 to explore how Chinese nationals envision and treat returnees. First, our results illustrate that the Chinese population imagines returnees as a group of elites with substantial social and financial capital, even though returnees are a socio-economically diverse population. Next, by applying information priming, we demonstrate that Chinese nationals discriminated against overseas returnees during the pandemic and that this behavior was not primarily driven by fears of viral contagion. Finally, using mediation analysis, we show that participants’ differential behavior towards returnees can largely be explained by participants’ perceptions of returnees’ class status and adherence to key markers of national membership. To clarify the effect of plant spacing on the growth, yield formation, and quality of sugar beet taproot. We designed field experiments in 2021–2022, and sugar beet variety KWS1176 was used as experimental material, and 9 plant spacing treatments from 8 to 32 cm were set up. The morphological indicators, photosynthetic characteristics, and the nutrient contents were determined at the stages of the leafage growing period (V1), sugar increase period of taproot (V2), sugar accumulation period I of taproot (V3), and sugar accumulation period II of taproot (V4), and the root yield and quality parameters were measured at the harvest. The results showed that in the plant spacing treatments of 11 and 14 cm, sugar beet had a suitable canopy structure and space for taproot growing. The canopy photosynthetic activity was higher, which provided sufficient photosynthetic products for root growth, and appropriate root size could balance root growth and sucrose accumulation. The highest root yield and sugar content were also obtained in the treatment of 14 cm plant spacing. With the increase of plant spacing, the yield of sugar beet decreased, and the content of α-amino N, K+, and Na+ in the root increased, which had a disadvantageous influence on the processing quality of the root. It was found that the number of cambial rings and the average distance between cambial rings could be used as qualitative indicators of the sugar content of taproot and the processing quality. Recently, lipid nanoparticles (LNPs) have been extensively investigated as non-viral carriers of nucleic acid vaccines due to their high transport efficiency, safety, and straightforward production and scalability. However, the molecular mechanism underlying the interactions between nucleic acids and phospholipid bilayers within LNPs remains elusive. In this study, we employed the all-atom molecular dynamics simulation to investigate the interactions between single-stranded nucleic acids and a phospholipid bilayer. Our findings revealed that hydrophilic bases, specifically G in single-stranded RNA (ssRNA) and single-stranded DNA (ssDNA), displayed a higher propensity to form hydrogen bonds with phospholipid head groups. Notably, ssRNA exhibited stronger binding energy than ssDNA. Furthermore, divalent ions, particularly Ca2+, facilitated the binding of ssRNA to phospholipids due to their higher binding energy and lower dissociation rate from phospholipids. Overall, our study provides valuable insights into the molecular mechanisms underlying nucleic acid-phospholipid interactions, with potential implications for the nucleic acids in biotherapies, particularly in the context of lipid carriers. Proprotein convertase subtilisin/kexin type 9 (PCSK9) has attracted lots of attention in preventing the clearance of plasma low‐density lipoprotein cholesterol (LDL‐C). PCSK9 inhibitors are developed to primarily reduce the cardiovascular risk by lowering LDL‐C level. Recently, a number of pleiotropic extrahepatic functions of PCSK9 beyond the regulation of cholesterol metabolism, particularly its effects on central nervous system (CNS) diseases have been increasingly identified. Emerging clinical evidence have revealed that PCSK9 may play a significant role in neurocognition, depression, Alzheimer's disease, and stroke. The focus of this review is to elucidate the functions of PCSK9 and highlight the effects of PCSK9 in CNS diseases, with the aim of identifying the potential risks that may arise from low PCSK9 level (variant or inhibitor) in the clinical practice. Background: To investigate the association between gestational diabetes mellitus (GDM) without subsequent overt diabetes and long-term all-cause and cardiac mortality. Methods: This prospective cohort study included 10,327 women (weighted population: 132,332,187) with a pregnancy history from the National Health and Nutrition Examination Survey (2007 to 2018). Participants were divided into three groups (GDM alone, overt diabetes, and no diabetes). Mortality data was linked from the National Death Index up to December 31, 2019. Multivariable Cox regression analysis was performed to examine the association between GDM alone and overt diabetes with all-cause mortality and cardiac mortality. Data analysis was performed from October 2022 to April 2023. Results: Among the participants, 510 (weighted 5.3%) had GDM alone and 1862 (weighted 14.1%) had overt diabetes. Over a median follow-up period of 6.7 years (69,063 person-years), there were 758 deaths. The GDM group did not show an increased risk of all-cause mortality (hazard ratio [HR] 0.67; 95% CI, 0.25–1.84), while the overt diabetes group had a significantly higher risk (HR 1.95; 95% CI, 1.62–2.35). Similarly, the GDM group did not exhibit an elevated risk of cardiac mortality (HR 1.48; 95% CI, 0.50–4.39), whereas the overt diabetes group had a significantly higher risk (HR 2.37; 95% CI, 1.69–3.32). Furthermore, sensitivity analysis focusing on women aged 50 or above showed that the HR of GDM history for all-cause mortality was 1.14 (95% CI, 0.33–3.95) and the HR for cardiac mortality was 1.74 (95% CI, 0.49–6.20). Conclusions: GDM alone was not associated with an increased risk of all-cause and cardiac mortality, while overt diabetes was significantly associated with both types of mortality. The development of polymeric materials for the repair and reinforcement of damaged sites in water has many practical applications, especially in ocean engineering. However, it is difficult to construct an anticorrosion coating in water. In addition, curing kinetics, which are the key to enhance the performance of coatings, seem to hardly be observed and regulated in an underwater condition. Herein, a novel underwater in situ repairing coating was prepared. Meanwhile, electrochemical impedance spectroscopy (EIS) was applied to observe its curing behavior underwater. Adhesion tests showed that the coatings cured underwater had good adhesion to different substrate surfaces and the ideal ratio of curing agent to epoxy resin was 0.6. Long-term anticorrosive tests demonstrated that the coatings had an excellent anti-corrosion performance. The viscosity changes in different curing stages were well reflected by frequency response characteristics from Bode and Nyquist curves by EIS. Two equivalent electrical circuits were selected to simulate the impedance date at the initial and final curing stage. A formula was put forward to evaluate the curing degree during the curing process. Finally, the effects of temperature and the ingredient ratio on the reaction rate and curing degree were also investigated here. This underwater in situ repairing coating may find applications in many offshore engineering structures in marine environments, and the EIS technique has attractive development and application prospects when observing the curing information of thermosetting resin systems under special circumstances. A simple method for the preparation of 2-aryl-3-(2-aminoaryl)quinoxalines from 2-alkynylnitrobenzenes and 1,2-diaminoarenes was described. The reactions could proceed under mild conditions. The 1-nitro-2-(phenylethynyl)benzenes, simple starting materials, could generate the key intermediate 3H-indole-3-ones in situ in the presence of PPh3. Mortise and tenon are very important parts of gas turbine dealing operation safety. Additionally, the temperature distribution of the turbine blade and disk is affected by the heat transfer characteristics in its gap. Then, the S-shaped mortise and tenon gap were numerically studied under rotating conditions, and the flow and heat transfer characteristics were analyzed. First, the heat transfer coefficient (HTC) of the mortise and tenon surfaces was measured with thermochromic liquid crystal. Then, the numerical method was verified using the test results, and the grid independence analysis was conducted. Finally, the flow and heat transfer characteristics of the gap under static and rotating conditions were numerically studied, five different Reynolds numbers (Re = 15,000, 20,000, 25,000, 30,000, 35,000) and five gap widths (d = 1 mm, 1.5 mm, 2 mm, 2.5 mm, 3 mm) were conducted and analyzed in detail. The results show that, under the rotating condition, the pressure distribution in the gap is different from that of the static condition; the pressure increases along the radial direction due to the action of centrifugal force and reaches its maximum value at the corner of the "S" shaped structure. With the increase in Re, the heat transfer intensity of the gap increases gradually. Additionally, the heat transfer intensity of the gap increases with an increase in its width. The article discusses the emergence of "machine language," a new form of representation that combines deep neural networks with symbolic intelligence. The authors propose three essential properties that machine language should possess: spontaneity, flexibility, and semantics. They simulate the process of language emergence through a collaborative game between two agents, where one describes an image using machine language and the other interprets and draws the image based on the description. We developed a novel CRISPR/Cas12a fluorescence biosensor to specifically detect the H1N1 virus based on splitting single-stranded DNA (ssDNA) activators. Specifically, activators 1 and 2 were generated from dual target nucleic acid sites to induce a three-way junction (3WJ) isothermal amplification process. Two specific H1N1 RNA nucleic acid sites were bound to a set of probes to form a 3WJ, which facilitated repeated extension and nicking reactions to produce high levels of split ssDNA activators via DNA polymerase and nicking endonuclease activity. Amplified activators 1 and 2 fully assembled with Cas12a/crRNA to form complexes. Activated Cas12a trans -cleaved ssDNA reporter molecules to generate fluorescence signals. Under optimal conditions, biosensor dynamic detection range was 1 pM–10 nM, and the detection limit was 205 fM. Ancient Chinese character recognition is a challenging problem in the field of pattern recognition. It is difficult to collect all character classes during the training stage due to the numerous classes of ancient Chinese characters and the likelihood of discovering new characters over time. A solution to address this problem is continual learning. However, most continual learning methods are not well-suited for large-scale applications, making them insufficient for solving the problem of ancient Chinese character recognition. Although saving raw data for old classes is a good approach for continual learning to address large-scale problems, it is often infeasible due to the lack of data accessibility in reality. To solve these problems, we propose a large-scale continual learning framework based on the convolutional prototype network (CPN), which does not save raw data for old classes. In this paper, several basic strategies have been proposed for the initial training stage to enhance the feature extraction ability and robustness of the network, which can improve the performance of the model in continual learning. In addition, we propose two practical methods in varying feature space (parameters of feature extractor are changeable) and fixed feature space (parameters of feature extractor are fixed), which enable the model to carry out large-scale continual learning. The proposed method does not save the raw data of old classes and enables simultaneous classification of all existing classes without knowing the incremental batch number. Previous research has demonstrated that the Pichia galeiformis (P. galeiformis) secreted protein PgSLP reduced citrus fruit postharvest green mold. It is unclear how the secreted protein PgSLP enhances citrus fruit resistance. This study was conducted to determine the effect of PgSLP on the control of blue mold and investigate the biocontrol mechanisms. With the transient overexpression of PgSLP, the incidence of blue mold in citrus was reduced. The majority of differentially expressed genes (DEGs) were enriched in amino acid synthesis and metabolism pathways. Physiological and biochemical analyses showed that the activities of O-acetylserine (thiol)-lyase (OASTL), serine acetyltransferase (SAT), and glutathione reductase (GR) were increased when treated with PgSLP. The contents of phenylalanine, tyrosine, leucine, isoleucine, serine, phenylalanine, cysteine, and glutathione were increased. RIPK1, a receptor-interacting serine/threonine protein kinase, plays a crucial role in maintaining cellular and tissue homeostasis by integrating inflammatory responses and cell death signaling pathways including apoptosis and necroptosis, which have been implicated in diverse physiological and pathological processes. Suppression of RIPK1 activation is a promising strategy for restraining the pathological progression of many human diseases. Neuroinflammation and neuronal apoptosis are two pivotal factors in the pathogenesis of brain injury following subarachnoid hemorrhage (SAH). In this study, we established in vivo and in vitro models of SAH to investigate the activation of RIPK1 kinase in both microglia and neurons. We observed the correlation between RIPK1 kinase activity and microglia-mediated inflammation as well as neuronal apoptosis. We then investigated whether inhibition of RIPK1 could alleviate neuroinflammation and neuronal apoptosis following SAH, thereby reducing brain edema and ameliorating neurobehavioral deficits. Additionally, the underlying mechanisms were also explored. Our research findings revealed the activation of RIPK1 kinase in both microglia and neurons following SAH, as marked by the phosphorylation of RIPK1 at serine 166. The upregulation of p-RIPK1(S166) resulted in a significant augmentation of inflammatory cytokines and chemokines, including TNF-α, IL-6, IL-1α, CCL2, and CCL5, as well as neuronal apoptosis. The activation of RIPK1 in microglia and neurons following SAH could be effectively suppressed by administration of Nec-1 s, a specific inhibitor of RIPK1. Consequently, inhibition of RIPK1 resulted in a downregulation of inflammatory cytokines and chemokines and attenuation of neuronal apoptosis after SAH in vitro. Furthermore, the administration of Nec-1 s effectively mitigated neuroinflammation, neuronal apoptosis, brain edema, and neurobehavioral deficits in mice following SAH. Our findings suggest that inhibiting RIPK1 kinase represents a promising therapeutic strategy for mitigating brain injury after SAH by attenuating RIPK1-driven neuroinflammation and neuronal apoptosis. [Display omitted] • Two stages of Cretaceous basalt erupted in the Jiurui district of the Yangtze Block. • The older basalts are Island arc basalt-like, forming from melts derived from an enriched lithospheric mantle. • The younger basalts are Oceanic island basalt-like, forming from melts derived from a depleted asthenospheric mantle. • The Cretaceous lithospheric mantle underneath the Yangtze Block was similar to EM I. The Cretaceous volcanic-sedimentary succession in the Jiurui district of the Yangtze Block contains basalts that are interlayered with fine clastic rocks, conglomerate and breccia strata. Here, we present data of whole-rock 40Ar–39Ar dating, major and trace elements, Sr–Nd–Pb isotopes, zircon U–Pb dating and Hf isotopes, and plagioclase trace element analyses to constrain the petrogenesis and tectonic background of these basaltic rocks,. Two episodic eruptions (ca. 126 Ma and ca. 91 Ma) are recognized, and the early basalts display evident enriched source characteristics such as high incompatible and low compatible elements, negative Nb, Ta, and Ti, slightly positive Pb anomaly, negative ε Nd (t) and ε Hf (t) values, higher (87Sr/86Sr) i , and high incompatible elements in plagioclase, indicating an island arc basalt-like nature. The younger basalts show low incompatible and high compatible elements, negative Rb, Pb, Nb, and Ta, positive Sr anomaly, positive ε Nd (t) values, lower (87Sr/86Sr) i , and low incompatible elements in the plagioclase, indicating an oceanic island basalt-like characteristic. The early ca. 126 Ma basalts were probably derived from a deeper and older enriched lithospheric mantle consisting of rutile-bearing garnet pyroxenite or eclogite, whereas the younger ca. 91 Ma basalts were derived from a shallower and younger depleted asthenospheric mantle constituting peridotite, with limited amounts of enriched lithospheric mantle component. The retreat and rollback of the paleo-Pacific slab and related lithospheric thinning and mantle composition transition processes probably occurred at ca. 126 Ma and ca. 91 Ma in this inland region of the Yangtze Block in northwestern Jiangxi province. The utilization of recycled waste plastics presents a promising opportunity for the development of filament for fused filament fabrication (FFF). This approach holds the potential to effectively conserve resources, mitigate solid waste generation, and contribute to the reduction of greenhouse gas emissions. The present study involves the processing of recycled polypropylene (rPP) into filaments with the purpose of manufacturing 3D printed components and the effects of the processing parameters on the properties of the printed parts. The selection of manufacturing parameters for 3D printing of rPP relies on the material-specific characteristic values, including glass transition temperature, melting temperature, viscosity, etc. More importantly, a novel methodology with the self-diffusion coefficient by applying the real-time cooling rate of rPP was devised to determine the total accumulated diffusion, which enables the prediction of mechanical performance by considering the local thermal conditions during material bonding between individual strands and different layers. The finding of the study indicates that the specimen fabricated by using elevated temperature and minimal time interval, which correlates with a high total accumulated diffusion, exhibited enhanced mechanical properties between the strands those are comparable to properties of the injection-molded virgin polypropylene. The topic of synchronization of fractional-order fuzzy complex networks with time-varying couplings and proportional delay is addressed in this paper. By combining graph theory, the Lyapunov method, and the Razumikhin method, the synchronization criteria are obtained by designing a new time-varying graph-theoretical Lyapunov function. Different from the typical quadratic Lyapunov function, the time-varying graph-theoretical Lyapunov function contains the product of three-term functions and poses the difficulty of fractional derivative due to the unavailability of the general Leibniz formula and the chain rule. A new inequality about the fractional derivative rule of the time-varying graph-theoretical Lyapunov function is established based on the convex function creatively. In addition, compared with relevant literatures, the synchronization criteria are related to the proportionality coefficient and the order of fractional derivative. Then, the synchronization of fractional-order power system established on fuzzy complex networks with time-varying couplings and proportional delay is studied for the first time by applying the feedback control. The susceptibility of DNA nanomaterials to enzymatic degradation in biological environments is a significant obstacle limiting their broad applications in biomedicine. While DNA nanostructures exhibit some resistance to nuclease degradation, the underlying mechanism of this resistance remains elusive. In this study, the interaction of tetrahedral DNA nanostructures (TDNs) and double-stranded DNA (dsDNA) with DNase I is investigated using all-atom molecular dynamics simulations. Our results indicate that DNase I can effectively bind to all dsDNA molecules, and certain key residues strongly interact with the nucleic bases of DNA. However, the binding of DNase I to TDNs exhibits a non-monotonic behavior based on size; TDN15 and TDN26 interact weakly with DNase I (∼ − 75 kcal/mol), whereas TDN21 forms a strong binding with DNase I (∼ − 110 kcal/mol). Furthermore, the topological properties of the DNA nanostructures are analyzed, and an under-twisting (∼32°) of the DNA helix is observed in TDN15 and TDN26. Importantly, this under-twisting results in an increased width of the minor groove in TDN15 and TDN26, which primarily explains their reduced binding affinity to DNase I comparing to the dsDNA. Overall, this study demonstrated a novel mechanism for local structural control of DNA at the nanoscale by adjusting the twisting induced by length. In the realm of optical fiber sensing, conventional surface plasmon resonance (SPR) sensors often face challenges due to their low linearity, broad resonance, and susceptibility to external temperature changes. To that end, we evaluate a groundbreaking approach with a temperature-compensating SPR biosensor based on the Mach-Zehnder interferometer (MZI), featuring a novel tapered multimode fiber-single mode fiber-multimode fiber (MMF-SMF-MMF) architecture. Specifically, the SPR is excited on a silver film modified by reduced graphene oxide (rGO) and π-π stacked pyrene-1-boric acid providing specific glucose binding ability. The MZI effect compensating for ambient temperature influence on the SPR is realized with the MMF-SMF-MMF structure. The study also explores the use of Fast Fourier Transform (FFT) for separate, granular analysis of the MZI and SPR signals and improves the linearity of the sensor using a novel centroid-fitting technique. This method utilizes the shift of calculated centroid coordinates rather than the single dip resonance wavelength from SPR, enhancing the overall performance of the sensor. The experimental results demonstrate excellent glucose sensitivity of 2.819 nm/mM, a linear range of 0–10 mmol/L, a LOD of 0.12 mM/L and concurrent temperature compensation. Tailoring of organometallics structure toward desirable properties continues to be both fascinating and challenging in the field of materials science. Herein, a novel ferrocene derivative with long straight‐chain alkane mono‐substituent is synthesized and used as multifunctional organometallic additive in the base oil. This ferrocene‐based organometallic compound (MFc) is synthesized via the Friedel‐Crafts acylation of ferrocene with myristyl chloride, followed by reduction with sodium borohydride. The chemical structure, crystallizability, surface morphology, and the thermal properties of the as‐synthesized compound are systematically characterized. As the iron‐containing standard substance, the MFc was preferable dissolve in lubricating oil with the iron element content as high as 2*105 ppm. Resultantly, the MFc/oil solutions exhibited excellent stability even after high‐speed centrifugal treatment, long‐term storage up to 3 months, and ultra‐low temperature treatment at −40°C for 24 h. Moreover, the MFc as a functional lubricant additive could reduce the average wear scar diameter, wear volume, and coefficient of friction with 40%, 73%, and 18%, respectively, as compared to the corresponding pure base oil. This synthetic strategy provides a novel perspective for the design of functional organometallics, and the as‐synthesized novel ferrocene derivative may find a wide range of advanced potential applications in analytical chemistry, tribology, and interfacial science. A variety of defects exist in the solution-processed polycrystalline perovskites, resulting in photovoltaic output losses and degradation. Chemical interaction is a promising way to realize the passivation of defects. Herein, cetyl pyridinium bromide (CPB) containing both pyridine units and long-chain alkyl groups was introduced in the perovskite precursor solution as a passivation agent. Experimental results show that pyridine unit in CPB formed coordination with uncoordinated Pb2+, which also interact with N–H in MAPbI 3. Meanwhile, long-chain alkyl groups in CPB had interaction with MAI and PbI 2 in MAPbI 3. Thus, trace amount of CPB in the precursor solution improved the optoelectronic properties of perovskite films and suppressed non-radiative carrier recombination in perovskite solar cell (PSC). CPB-modified perovskite films exhibit a lower trap-state density and stronger carrier migration capability. It enables the significant enhancement of PCE values of the p-i-n structured PSC from 18.27 % to 20.53 %, accompanied by the improved stability. Biomass from agriculture, forestry, and urban wastes is a potential renewable organic resource for energy generation. Many investigations have demonstrated that anaerobic fungi and methanogens could be co-cultured to degrade lignocellulose for methane generation. Thus, this study aimed to evaluate the effect of natural anaerobic fungi-methanogens co-culture on the methane production and lignocellulosic degradation of wastes from rice, corn and sugarcane. Hu sheep rumen digesta was used to develop a natural anaerobic fungi-methanogen co-culture. The substrates were rice straw (RS), rich husk (RH), corn stover (CS), corn cobs (CC), and sugarcane baggage (SB). Production of total gas and methane, metabolization rate of reducing sugar, glucose, and xylose, digestibility of hemicellulose and cellulose, activity of carboxymethylcellulase and xylanase, and concentrations of total acid and acetate were highest (P < 0.05) in CC, moderate (P < 0.05) in RS and CS, and lowest (P < 0.05) in SB and RH. The pH, lactate and ethanol were lowest (P < 0.05) in CC, moderate (P < 0.05) in RS and CS, and lowest (P < 0.05) SB and RH. Formate was lowest (P < 0.05) in CC, RS and CS, moderate (P < 0.05) in SB, and lowest (P < 0.05) in RH. Therefore, this study indicated that the potential of methane production and lignocellulosic degradation by natural anaerobic fungi-methanogens co-culture were highest in CC, moderate in RS and CS, and lowest in SB and RH. Background: Providing high-quality roughage is crucial for improvement of ruminant production because it is an essential component of their feed. Our previous study showed that feeding bio-fermented rice straw (BF) improved the feed intake and weight gain of sheep. However, it remains unclear why feeding BF to sheep increased their feed intake and weight gain. Therefore, the purposes of this research were to investigate how the rumen microbiota and serum metabolome are dynamically changing after feeding BF, as well as how their changes influence the feed intake, digestibility, nutrient transport, meat quality and growth performances of sheep. Twelve growing Hu sheep were allocated into 3 groups: alfalfa hay fed group (AH: positive control), rice straw fed group (RS: negative control) and BF fed group (BF: treatment). Samples of rumen content, blood, rumen epithelium, muscle, feed offered and refusals were collected for the subsequent analysis. Results: Feeding BF changed the microbial community and rumen fermentation, particularly increasing (P < 0.05) relative abundance of Prevotella and propionate production, and decreasing (P < 0.05) enteric methane yield. The histomorphology (height, width, area and thickness) of rumen papillae and gene expression for carbohydrate transport (MCT1), tight junction (claudin-1, claudin-4), and cell proliferation (CDK4, Cyclin A2, Cyclin E1) were improved (P < 0.05) in sheep fed BF. Additionally, serum metabolome was also dynamically changed, which led to up-regulating (P < 0.05) the primary bile acid biosynthesis and biosynthesis of unsaturated fatty acid in sheep fed BF. As a result, the higher (P < 0.05) feed intake, digestibility, growth rate, feed efficiency, meat quality and mono-unsaturated fatty acid concentration in muscle, and the lower (P < 0.05) feed cost per kg of live weight were achieved by feeding BF. Conclusions: Feeding BF improved the growth performances and meat quality of sheep and reduced their feed cost. Background: Major perioperative complications of stent‐assisted embolization treated for aneurysmal subarachnoid hemorrhage patients include the formation of thromboembolic events (TEs) and hemorrhagic events (HEs), for which antiplatelet protocols play a key role. Methods: We conducted a single‐center retrospective analysis to compare the differences between arteriovenous tirofiban administration with traditional oral dual antiplatelet therapy (DAPT). A total of 417 consecutive patients were enrolled. General clinical characteristics, as well as the perioperative ischemic and hemorrhagic events, were retracted in digital documents. Logistic regression was conducted to identify both risk and protective factors of perioperative TEs and HEs. Results: Perioperative TEs occurred in 21 patients, with an overall perioperative TEs rate of approximately 5.04%; among these patients, the incidence of perioperative TEs in the tirofiban group was less than that in the DAPT group. Additionally, 66 patients developed perioperative HEs, with an incidence of approximately 15.83%; among these patients, the incidence of perioperative HEs was less than that in the DAPT group. No significant differences were seen between the two groups in terms of the mRS score at the time of discharge. Conclusion: This study indicated that an improved perioperative antiplatelet drug tirofiban was an independent protective factor for perioperative TEs in stent‐assisted embolization of ruptured intracranial aneurysms, but it did not impart an elevated risk of perioperative HEs and had no significant effects on the near‐term prognosis of the patients. Thoracic aortic dissection (TAD) is a severe disease, characterized by numerous apoptotic vascular smooth muscle cells (VSMCs). EDIL3/Del-1 is a secreted protein involved in macrophage efferocytosis in acute inflammation. Here, we aimed to investigate whether EDIL3 promoted the internalization and degradation of apoptotic VSMCs during TAD. The levels of EDIL3 were decreased in the serum and aortic tissue from TAD mice. Global edil3 knockout (edil3−/−) mice and edil3−/− bone marrow chimeric mice exhibited a considerable exacerbation in β-aminopropionitrile monofumarate (BAPN)-induced TAD, accompanied with increased apoptotic VSMCs accumulating in the damaged aortic tissue. Two types of phagocytes, RAW264.7 cells and bone marrow-derived macrophages (BMDMs) were used for in vitro efferocytosis assay. edil3-deficient phagocytes exhibited inefficient internalization and degradation of apoptotic VSMCs. Instead, EDIL3 promoted the internalization phase through interacting with phosphatidylserine (PtdSer) on apoptotic VSMCs and binding to the macrophage ITGAV/αv-ITGB3/β3 integrin. In addition, EDIL3 accelerated the degradation phase through activating LC3-associated phagocytosis (LAP). Mechanically, following the engulfment, EDIL3 enhanced the activity of SMPD1/acid sphingomyelinase in the phagosome through blocking ITGAV-ITGB3 integrin, which facilitates phagosomal reactive oxygen species (ROS) production by NAPDH oxidase CYBB/NOX2. Furthermore, exogenous EDIL3 supplementation alleviated BAPN-induced TAD and promoted apoptotic cell clearance. We propose a sensitive H1N1 virus fluorescence biosensor based on ligation-transcription and CRISPR/Cas13a-assisted cascade amplification strategies. Products are generated via the hybridization of single-stranded DNA (ssDNA) probes containing T7 promoter and crRNA templates to a target RNA sequence using SplintR ligase. This generates large crRNA quantities in the presence of T7 RNA polymerase. At such crRNA quantities, ternary Cas13a, crRNA, and activator complexes are successfully constructed and activate Cas13a to enhance fluorescence signal outputs. The biosensor sensitively and specifically monitored H1N1 viral RNA levels down to 3.23 pM and showed good linearity when H1N1 RNA concentrations were 100 pM–1 µM. Biosensor specificity was also excellent. Importantly, our biosensor may be used to detect other viral RNAs by altering the sequences of the two probe junctions, with potential applications for the clinical diagnosis of viruses and other biomedical studies. Inflammation is one of the key injury factors for spinal cord injury (SCI). Exosomes (Exos) derived from M2 macrophages have been shown to inhibit inflammation and be beneficial in SCI animal models. However, lacking targetability restricts their application prospects. Considering that chemokine receptors increase dramatically after SCI, viral macrophage inflammatory protein II (vMIP-II) is a broad-spectrum chemokine receptor binding peptide, and lysosomal associated membrane protein 2b (Lamp2b) is the key membrane component of Exos, we speculated that vMIP-II-Lamp2b gene-modified M2 macrophage-derived Exos (vMIP-II-Lamp2b-M2-Exo) not only have anti-inflammatory properties, but also can target the injured area by vMIP-II. In this study, using a murine contusive SCI model, we revealed that vMIP-II-Lamp2b-M2-Exo could target the chemokine receptors which highly expressed in the injured spinal cords, inhibit some key chemokine receptor signaling pathways (such as MAPK and Akt), further inhibit proinflammatory factors (such as IL-1β, IL-6, IL-17, IL-18, TNF-α, and iNOS), and promote anti-inflammatory factors (such as IL-4 and Arg1) productions, and the transformation of microglia/macrophages from M1 into M2. Moreover, the improved histological and functional recoveries were also found. Collectively, our results suggest that vMIP-II-Lamp2b-M2-Exo may provide neuroprotection by targeting the injured spinal cord, inhibiting some chemokine signals, reducing proinflammatory factor production and modulating microglia/macrophage polarization. Hydrogenation of CO 2 into methanol at low-temperature on Cu-based catalysts is of great significance, but remains challenging to enhance activity. In this paper, we report an inverse catalyst constructed with nano-ZrZnO x supported on Cu particles with outstanding methanol synthesis performance at 220 ℃, two times higher than that of commercial Cu/ZnO/Al 2 O 3 catalysts under the same conditions. Detailed structure characterization and performance evaluation demonstrate that the ZrZnO x mixed oxide serves as the most active oxide-metal interface site for CO 2 hydrogenation. The ZrZnO x /Cu inverse catalyst increases the weak and medium CO 2 adsorption sites which are further demonstrated responsible to the methanol productivity. In situ DRIFTs studies reveal that the inverse interface accelerates the reduction of asymmetric formate intermediates and prevents the generation of CO. The combination of enhanced CO 2 activation capability and accelerated hydrogenation rate of intermediates over the ZrZnO x /Cu inverse catalyst probably contribute to the remarkable methanol synthesis performance from CO 2. The global health crisis posed by increasing antimicrobial resistance (AMR) implicitly requires solutions based a One Health approach, yet multisectoral, multidisciplinary research on AMR is rare and huge knowledge gaps exist to guide integrated action. This is partly because a comprehensive survey of past research activity has never performed due to the massive scale and diversity of published information. Here we compiled 254,738 articles on AMR using Artificial Intelligence (AI; i.e., Natural Language Processing, NLP) methods to create a database and information retrieval system for knowledge extraction on research perfomed over the last 20 years. Global maps were created that describe regional, methodological, and sectoral AMR research activities that confirm limited intersectoral research has been performed, which is key to guiding science-informed policy solutions to AMR, especially in low-income countries (LICs). Further, we show greater harmonisation in research methods across sectors and regions is urgently needed. For example, differences in analytical methods used among sectors in AMR research, such as employing culture-based versus genomic methods, results in poor communication between sectors and partially explains why One Health-based solutions are not ensuing. Therefore, our analysis suggest that performing culture-based and genomic AMR analysis in tandem in all sectors is crucial for data integration and holistic One Health solutions. Finally, increased investment in capacity development in LICs should be prioritised as they are places where the AMR burden is often greatest. ALI is characterized by macrophage-driven inflammation, causing severe lung damage. Currently, there are limited therapeutic options available for ALI. Liensinine (LIEN), with known anti-inflammatory properties, lacks extensive study in the ALI context. This study aimed to investigate the impact of LIEN on ALI and elucidate its molecular mechanisms. Lung tissue injury, pulmonary edema, and inflammatory factor levels were evaluated in lung tissues and LPS-stimulated bone marrow-derived macrophages (BMDM). TAK1 activation, TRAF6 ubiquitination, and their interactions were assessed to understand the involved molecular mechanisms. LIEN treatment ameliorated lung tissue injury and suppressed LPS-induced inflammatory factor levels in lung tissues and BMDM. Mechanistically, LIEN inhibited TAK1 activation by disrupting TRAF6–TAK1 interactions, limiting p65's nuclear translocation, and reducing the release of inflammatory factors. According to network pharmacology and molecular docking, LIEN most likely prevents inflammation by interfering directly with the Src. Overexpression of Src in BMDM abolished the regulation of TRAF6 by LIEN, supporting the involvement of the Src/TRAF6/TAK1 axis in its mechanism of action. Based on this study, LIEN treats ALI by modifying the Src/TRAF6/TAK1 axis and blocking the activation of the NF-κB pathway, regulating the release of inflammatory factors. Acute myeloid leukemia (AML) is one of the most common types of leukemia in adults with a 5-year survival rate of 30.5%. These poor patient outcomes are attributed to tumor relapse, stemming from ineffective innate immune activation, T cell tolerance, and a lack of immunological memory. Thus, new strategies are needed to activate innate and effector immune cells and evoke long-term immunity against AML. One approach to address these issues is through Stimulator of Interferon Genes (STING) pathway activation, which produces Type I Interferons (Type I IFN) critical for innate and adaptive immune activation. Here, we report that systemic immunotherapy with a lipid-based nanoparticle platform (CMP) carrying Mn2+ and STING agonist c -di-AMP (CDA) exhibited robust anti-tumor efficacy in a mouse model of disseminated AML. Moreover, CMP immunotherapy combined with immune checkpoint blockade against cytotoxic T-lymphocyte-associated protein 4 (anti-CTLA-4) elicited robust innate and adaptive immune activation with enhanced cytotoxic potential against AML, leading to extended animal survival after re-challenge with AML. Water stress (drought and waterlogging) leads to an imbalance in plant water distribution, disrupts cell homeostasis, and severely inhibits plant growth. Melatonin is a growth hormone that plants synthesise and has been shown to resist adversity in many plants. This review discusses the biosynthesis and metabolism of melatonin, as well as the changes in plant morphology and physiological mechanisms caused by the molecular defence process. Melatonin induces the expression of related genes in the process of plant photosynthesis under stress and protects the structural integrity of chloroplasts. Exogenous melatonin can maintain the dynamic balance of root ion exchange under waterlogging stress. Melatonin can repair mitochondria and alleviate damage caused by reactive oxygen species and reactive nitrogen species; and has a wide range of uses in the regulation of stress-specific genes and the activation of antioxidant enzyme genes. Melatonin improves the stability of membrane lipids in plant cells and maintains osmotic balance by regulating water channels. There is crosstalk between melatonin and other hormones, which jointly improve the ability of the root system to absorb water and breathe and promote plant growth. Briefly, as a multifunctional molecule, melatonin improves the tolerance of plants under water stress and promotes plant growth and development. Melatonin, as an exogenous hormone, has been widely used in improving plant stress resistance. This paper systematically describes how melatonin improves the ability of plants to resist water stress (drought and waterlogging) in the processes of photosynthesis, antioxidation and osmosis at the physiological and genetic levels. The excited state properties of thionated 5‐fluorouridine (2′,3′,5′‐tri‐O‐acetyl‐5‐fluoro‐4‐thiouridine; ta5F4TUrd), synthesized with Lawesson's reagent, have been intensively investigated with nanosecond transient absorption spectroscopy, time‐resolved thermal lensing, near‐infrared emission, and quantum chemical calculation. The intrinsic triplet lifetime of ta5F4TUrd was determined to be 4.2±0.7 μs in acetonitrile, and the formation quantum yield of the excited triplet state was as large as 0.79±0.01. The quenching rate constants of the triplet ta5F4TUrd by the dissolved oxygen molecule and by the self‐quenching process were found to be nearly equal to the diffusion‐controlled rate of acetonitrile. The quantum yield of the singlet molecular oxygen produced through energy transfer between the triplet ta5F4TUrd and the dissolved oxygen, ΦΔ, was successfully determined to be 0.61±0.02 under the oxygen‐saturated condition. From the oxygen concentration dependence of the ΦΔ value, the fraction of triplet ta5F4TUrd quenched by dissolved oxygen which gives rise to the 1O2* formation, SΔ, was successfully obtained to be 0.78±0.01, which was the largest among the thionucleobases and the thionucleosides reported so far. Fine particulate matter (PM 2.5 ) poses a significant public health risk due to its association with respiratory and cardiovascular diseases. Given the limited availability of PM 2.5 monitoring stations, there is a pressing need for reliable real-time forecasting models. This study introduces TSPPM25, a novel Transformer-based model designed for spatiotemporal prediction of PM 2.5 levels. TSPPM25 leverages multiple data embedding techniques and various attention layers to effectively capture the intricate spatiotemporal relationships in multivariate data. The model's performance is evaluated using a California Aerosol Optical Depth PM 2.5 dataset and compared with several baseline models, including LSTM, Bi-LSTM, Linear Regression, and basic heuristics models. The results demonstrate that TSPPM25 exhibits superior spatiotemporal learning capabilities, robustness, and stability, outperforming other models across MSE, MAE, and SMAPE metrics. Furthermore, the study explores the underlying patterns in PM 2.5 data through harmonic analysis, revealing that TSPPM25 performs exceptionally well even in complex scenarios characterized by mixed wave patterns. Conclusively, TSPPM25 emerges as a valuable tool for predicting PM 2.5 levels demonstrating its efficacy in the California region, and thereby contributing significantly to the field of air quality forecasting. Background: Parkinson's disease (PD) has been regarded as a disconnection syndrome with functional and structural disturbances. However, as the anatomic determinants, the structural disconnections in PD have yet to be fully elucidated. Purpose: To non-invasively construct structural networks based on microstructural complexity and to further investigate their potential topological abnormalities in PD given the technical superiority of diffusion kurtosis imaging (DKI) to the quantification of microstructure. Material and Methods: The microstructural data of gray matter in both the PD group and the healthy control (HC) group were acquired using DKI. The structural networks were constructed at the group level by a covariation approach, followed by the calculation of topological properties based on graph theory and statistical comparisons between groups. Results: A total of 51 patients with PD and 50 HCs were enrolled. Individuals were matched between groups with respect to demographic characteristics (P >0.05). The constructed structural networks in both the PD and HC groups featured small-world properties. In comparison with the HC group, the PD group exhibited significantly altered global properties, with higher normalized characteristic path lengths, clustering coefficients, local efficiency values, and characteristic path lengths and lower global efficiency values (P <0.05). In terms of nodal centralities, extensive nodal disruptions were observed in patients with PD (P <0.05); these disruptions were mainly distributed in the sensorimotor network, default mode network, frontal-parietal network, visual network, and subcortical network. Four new diterpenoids (1–4) and four known diterpenoids (5–8) were purified from the whole plant of Euphorbia helioscopia L. Compounds 1 and 2 were jathophanes diterpenoids with a 5/12 polycyclic systems, compound 3 was rhamofolane diterpenoid with a 5/10 bicyclic skeleton and compound 4 was a rare class of euphorbia diterpenes featuring an unusual 5/10 fused ring system. Anti-inflammatory activity tests were conducted on the separated compounds, indicating that compound 4 had significant inhibitory effect on NLRP3 inflammasome with an IC 50 value of 7.75 μM. Trehalose is a non-reducing disaccharide and participates in physiological activities such as organ formation, energy metabolism, and stress resistance in insects. The Bmtret1 gene family is mainly involved in in the sugar metabolism of silkworm. In the present study, phylogenetic analysis divided 21 Bmtret1 orthologs into three clades. These genes are equally distributed on the nine chromosomes. The cis-elements in the promoter regions of Bmtret1s indicated the possible function of Bmtret1s in response to hormones and environmental stimulus. The qPCR analysis showed the significantly different expression levels of Bmtret1s in different tissues and organs, indicating possible functional divergence. In addition, most Bmtret1s showed disturbed expression levels in response to silkworm nuclear polyhedrosis virus (BmNPV) stresses. Herein, a Cu single-atom catalyst with ultrahigh loading of Cu-pyridinic N 4 sites on carbon nanosheets (Cu SA -N-C) is successfully designed and synthesized as an activator for peracetic acid (PAA). The Cu SA -N-C showed the most powerful capacity for PAA activation among the Cu-based catalysts, and even a 48-fold enhancement on sulfamethoxazole (SMX) degradation compared to homogeneous Cu2+. The scavenging experiments and ESR analysis indicated that singlet oxygen (1O 2) but not conventional radicals play a dominant role in SMX degradation. Theoretical calculations further insights into the generation of 1O 2 in PAA activation. Furthermore, a 'double engine' driving mechanism was proposed, where the electron-rich area around Cu site and the electron-poor area around C site in the saturated Cu-N 4 configuration could efficiently adsorb and activate PAA. The Cu SA -N-C/PAA process exhibited high tolerance towards the common water matrices (e.g., CO 3 2−/HCO 3 − and Cl-), and thus showed excellent performance in the real wastewater. Research on riverine microplastics has gradually increased, highlighting an area for further exploration: the lack of extensive, large-scale regional variations analysis due to methodological and spatiotemporal limitations. Herein, we constructed and applied a comprehensive framework for synthesizing and analyzing literature data on riverine microplastics to enable comparative research on the regional variations on a large scale. Research results showed that in 76 rivers primarily located in Asia, Europe, and North America, the microplastic abundance of surface water in Asian rivers was three times higher than that in Euro-America rivers, while sediment in Euro-American rivers was five times more microplastics than Asia rivers, indicating significant regional variations (p < 0.001). Additionally, based on the income levels of countries, rivers in lower-middle and upper-middle income countries had significantly (p < 0.001) higher abundance of microplastics in surface water compared to high-income countries, while the opposite was true for sediment. This phenomenon was preliminarily attributed to varying levels of urbanization across countries. Our proposed framework for synthesizing and analyzing microplastic literature data provides a holistic understanding of microplastic disparities in the environment, and can facilitate broader discussions on management and mitigation strategies. Distance-decay (DD) equations can discern the biogeographical pattern of organisms and genes in a better way with advanced statistical methods. Here, we developed a data Compilation, Arrangement, and Statistics framework to advance quantile regression (QR) into the generation of DD equations for antibiotic resistance genes (ARGs) across various spatial scales using freshwater reservoirs as an illustration. We found that QR is superior at explaining dissemination potential of ARGs to the traditionally used least squares regression (LSR). This is because our model is based on the 'law of limiting factors', which reduces influence of unmeasured factors that reduce the efficacy of the LSR method. DD equations generated from the 99th QR model for ARGs were ' S all = 90.03e−0.01Dall ' in water and ' S all = 92.31e−0.011Dall ' in sediment. The 99th QR model was less impacted by uneven sample sizes, resulting in a better quantification of ARGs dissemination. Within an individual reservoir, the 99th QR model demonstrated that there is no dispersal limitation of ARGs at this smaller spatial scale. The QR method not only allows for construction of robust DD equations that better display dissemination of organisms and genes across ecosystems, but also provides new insights into the biogeography exhibited by key parameters, as well as the interactions between organisms and environment. • We construct a Contrasting Analysis of Scales approach for groundwater microplastics. • The morphology of microplastics is different between open and closed groundwater. • Groundwater in landfills and nature reserves is heavily contaminated. • Groundwater is at high ecological risk of microplastics, especially in Asia. • More serious microplastic contamination may exist downstream of groundwater. Given that microplastics (MPs) in groundwater have been concerned for risks to humans and ecosystems with increased publications, a Contrasting Analysis of Scales (CAS) approach is developed by this study to synthesize all existing data into a hierarchical understanding of MP accumulation in groundwater. Within the full data of 386 compiled samples, the median abundance of MPs in Open Groundwater (OG) and Closed Groundwater (CG) were 4.4 and 2.5 items/L respectively, with OG exhibiting a greater diversity of MP colors and larger particle sizes. The different pathways of MP entry (i.e., surface runoff and rock interstices) into OG and CG led to this difference. At the regional scale, median MP abundance in nature reserves and landfills were 17.5 and 13.4 items/L, respectively, all the sampling points showed high pollution load risk. MPs in agricultural areas exhibited a high coefficient of variation (716.7%), and a median abundance of 1.0 items/L. Anthropogenic activities at the regional scale are the drivers behind the differentiation in the morphological characteristics of MPs, where groundwater in residential areas with highly toxic polymers (e.g., polyvinylchloride) deserves prolonged attention. At the local scale, the transport of MPs is controlled by groundwater flow paths, with a higher abundance of MP particles downstream than upstream, and MPs with regular surfaces and lower resistance (e.g., pellets) are more likely to be transported over long distances. From the data-scaled insight this study provides on the accumulation of MPs, future research should be directed towards network-based observation for groundwater-rich regions covered with landfills, residences, and agricultural land. Fluorescence biosensor to detect microRNAs via integrating DNA hairpins transition mediated strand displacement amplification with primer exchange reaction. [Display omitted] Herein, we constructed a fluorescence biosensor for the ultra-sensitive analysis of microRNAs (miRNAs) by combining DNA hairpins transition triggered strand displacement amplification (DHT-SDA) with primer exchange reaction (PER). Target miRNA initiated DHT-SDA to facilitate the generation of multiple single-stranded DNA (ssDNA) as PER primer, which was extended into a long ssDNA. The biosensor is successfully utilized in detecting miRNAs with high sensitivity (limit of detection for miRNA-21 was 58 fM) and a good linear relationship between 100 nM and 100 fM. By simply changing the DNA hairpin sequence, the constructed biosensor can be extended to analyze another miRNAs. Moreover, the biosensor has the feasibility of detecting miRNAs in real samples with satisfactory accuracy and reliability. Breast cancer (BRCA) is a leading cause of death in women worldwide, accounting for 31% of female cancer. Autophagy plays a crucial role in cancer progression, however, the function of autophagy-related gene neuroregulatory protein 2 (NRG2) in BRCA and its underlying molecular mechanisms remain unclear. In the present study, the expression of the NRG2 gene in BRCA was significantly down-regulated compared with the normal controls. The low expression level of NRG2 was related to poor survival rate of BRCA. The receiver operating characteristic curve of NRG2 showed a good diagnostic value for distinguishing BRCA from normal tissues (AUC=0.932). GO-KEGG analysis and GSEA enrichment analysis showed that NRG2 and its regulated genes were enriched in autophagy-related and immune-related pathways, and NRG2 was positively correlated with a number of immune cells and immune checkpoint genes. In addition, knockdown of NRG2 significantly promoted the proliferation, invasion and migration of BRCA cells. The autophagy marker, LC3-II and epithelial-mesenchymal transition (EMT) marker, vimentin were increased, while P62 and E-cadherin were decreased in response to NRG2 depletion. The findings of the present study demonstrated that NRG2 acts as a tumor suppressor factor that contributes to the immune escape and anti-tumor immunity inhibition by regulating the pathological process of autophagy and EMT, suggesting that NRG2 could be used as a prognostic biomarker and clinical target for BRCA therapy.
