Willingness to pay (WTP) is a metric that is widely valued and utilized among both practitioners and academics. However, the conceptualization of WTP is ambiguous, and this ambiguity is reflected across existing methods of measuring WTP. The authors first present a formal mathematical framework that clarifies WTP as a distributional concept—rather than a single number—constructed as a function of customers, comparisons, and situations. The framework further reveals the operation of two comparative mechanisms, direct and indirect, by which situational factors affect WTP. They then introduce a new method to measure WTP—the comparative method of valuation (CMV)—that, unlike existing methods, is designed to account for the inherently comparative and situational nature of WTP. Across nine studies reported in the article and four additional studies in the Web Appendix, the authors (1) examine differences in results between CMV and choice-based conjoint as well as between CMV and the classic Becker–DeGroot–Marschak methodology, (2) demonstrate that CMV is a valid and reliable measure of WTP, and (3) illustrate applications of CMV to managerial problems. This paper conducts Group Delphi-study and foresight approach within a five-year horizon in the field of digital education, with a specific focus on Continuing Education (CE) in a post-pandemic society. The study examines the impact of increasing digitalisation on the significant population of low-qualified individuals (approximately five million in Germany). The project identifies both opportunities and risks associated with digitalisation in CE for the low-qualified. The study focuses on 1) the impact of digitalisation on the participation of low-qualified people in CE, 2) the impact of accelerated digitalisation on the planning of programmes and services for this target group, 3) the transformation of programmes and services for low-qualified people due to digitalisation, and 4) methodological innovations for predicting the impact of digitalisation in the CE sector. Public-private partnership (PPP) models represent an innovative procurement approach and offer promising prospects for the construction industry's future worldwide. However, not all PPP projects, particularly toll road projects, achieve their goals. This poses a unique challenge in determining the Critical Success Factors (CSFs) as the basis for evaluating project success. Therefore, this research aims to identify and explore the concept of CSFs for toll road projects under the PPP scheme based on reputable academic journals in the last ten years. This study employs a sequential exploratory mixed methods methodology to identify and explore CSF indicators for PPP scheme projects and to verify and validate the findings. The results of this study reveal 13 indicators crucial for project success, categorized into eight factors. The findings of this research contribute significantly to the management of PPP toll road projects in Indonesia, serving as a reference for stakeholders in decision-making to enhance the effectiveness and efficiency of toll road project management. The study aimed to examine the impact of academic leaders' possession of digital literacy on their attitudes toward artificial intelligence applications in leadership work in light of the diffusion of innovation theory at Umm Al-Qura University (UQU). The study used a descriptive correlational approach with a random sampling method, and overall, 158 academic leaders were sampled. The findings indicated a positive attitude among academic leaders toward artificial intelligence applications in leadership work (M = 4.006, SD = 0.567), and their degree of possession of digital literacy was high (M = 3.949, SD = 0.641). There was also a significant positive impact of possessing digital literacy on academic leaders' attitudes toward artificial intelligence applications in leadership work, in line with the diffusion of innovation theory (β = 0.597, p < 0.05). The methodology involves a comprehensive examination of problem identification, recommendations, and the synthesis of data to delineate crucial competencies. Stochastic multi-objective optimisation has been considered to be significant because of its direct relationship to real-world issues. This work analyses the multi-choice multi-objective transportation problem (MCMOTP), in which supply an demand parameters are random variables with no preconceived values, and at least one of the objectives has many goal levels to be achieved. In the present work, firstly, to find the specific solution, present problem is transformed to an equivalent deterministic problem using chance-constrained programming approach. Secondly, multi-choice, multiobjective transportation problem (MCMOTP) can be reduced to a multiobjective transportation problem (MOTP) by implementing transformation method by means of binary variables. The reduced problem can be resolved using goal programming by choose from a variety of aspiration levels one to pursue each goal. This research demonstrates that an effective solution to the stochastic multi-objective programming problem was reached by application of two-phase approach. The efficacy of organisational effectiveness during the Fourth Industrial Revolution may have been hindered by prevailing leadership styles and management practices. Hence, it has been proposed that other theories, models, or approaches to leadership will be necessary for organisations to maintain competitiveness and achieve long-term success in a business environment that deviates dramatically from the norm for leaders. This essay posits that the application of Leadership 4.0 and novel management practices may hold significance within this particular context. This study investigated the influence of leadership 4.0 and modern management on the success of organisations during the Fourth Industrial Revolution (4IR). Qualitative research methodologies were employed to conduct desk research and obtain the findings. There exists a positive association between Leadership 4.0, creative management methods, and organisational performance capabilities. Numerous scholarly and practical deliberations have substantiated the significance of leadership, specifically Leadership 4.0, in effectively navigating the complexities and challenges posed by the Fourth Industrial Revolution (4IR). Furthermore, supplementary evidence was identified to substantiate theories pertaining to dependent leadership. The findings of this study have practical implications for companies as they validate the existing literature that highlights the crucial role of leadership in organisational performance, particularly for survival and long-term viability in the contemporary business landscape (4IR). Public management theory in the field of public administration has been influenced and dominated by the knowledge of political science, economics, law, behavioral sciences, and social psychology in the late nineteenth and early twentieth centuries. Since the emergence of theoretical and applied knowledge of public management, theories of public management have been classified and introduced within the same paradigms and theories of classical public management, managerialism or new public management, good governance, new public service, public value management, and so on. This article aims to explore the main paradigms and theories of public management within the framework of Barl and Morgan. Contemporary theories of public management, under the titles of classical public management paradigm, bureaucratization, managerialism or new public management, have to a large extent roots in functionalist sociology and carry values of objectivity, hierarchical obedience, positivist epistemology, and a tendency towards universalizing theories of public management beyond cultures, emphasizing the preservation of the existing state. Modern orientations in public management, with a focus on human-centricity by shifting attention from economics to culture and cognitive processes, carry values of mentalism, inter-mental relationships, meta-positivism, voluntarism, and conscious choice of actors, and emphasize the space of interpretation, discourse, and social constructions. Many issues and challenges face research design and research teams that want to become more inclusive, especially in large-scale research projects involving many stakeholders. This article explores an approach called Design-Based Research (DBR). DBR has been widely used in education for several years; it emphasizes collaboration with the community and takes the context of participants into consideration. DBR is transposable to other disciplines and is intended to be inclusive of the diverse stakeholders involved in a research project. For instance, in an ongoing research project about unconscious bias and inclusive behaviors, it takes into account all stakeholders' needs and involves them in all stages of the research, which is taking place in a real-world context rather than a laboratory. The aim of this article is to better understand how the DBR methodology enables the inclusion of historically marginalized groups and how it is applied in the field. This exploratory article will present an example of an ongoing research project using the DBR methodology to show how this approach can be more inclusive than experimental approaches. This exploration reveals the positive impact of DBR in implementing solutions that can help reduce inequalities and power relationships. It also reveals the complexity of conducting qualitative research in a social laboratory. In particular, it takes into account the specificity of each historically marginalized group, from an intersectional perspective, the difficulty of operating within a process where not everything is determined in advance, and the need for a researcher specializing in DBR. It is important to allow sufficient time and financial resources at each stage to recognize the involvement of community organizations. The present research examines the benefits of implementing knowledge management (KM) principles in the Jordanian banking sector to enhance performance. The study emphasizes the significance of Artificial Intelligence (AI) and how Jordanian banks utilize it to improve the quality of customer service they provide. This study targets managers at all levels and focuses on the Jordanian banking sector as its research environment. A questionnaire is created to gather information from a random sample to achieve the research's objectives. The study involves a sample of 250 managers. Additionally, the research adopts a descriptive methodology, and SPSS is used to analyze the data. The statistical findings provide robust evidence for the importance of performance expectations, social influence, and perceived risk in influencing consumer intentions. Marketers and decision-makers within the banking industry can leverage these insights to shape their long-term strategies for effectively utilizing and maximizing AI technology in the banking sector. Furthermore, by providing policymakers and practitioners of Jordanian commercial banks with insight into the variables influencing user satisfaction, the findings will help these complex institutions operate more effectively.
