Background: Nutritional deficiencies (ND) continue to threaten the lives of millions of people around the world, with children being the worst hit. Nevertheless, no systematic study of the epidemiological features of child ND has been conducted so far. Therefore, we aimed to comprehensively assess the burden of pediatric ND. Methods: We analyzed data on pediatric ND between 1990 and 2019 from the Global Burden of Disease study (GBD) 2019 at the global, regional, and national levels. In addition, joinpoint regression models were used to assess temporal trends. Results: In 2019, the number of prevalent cases of childhood malnutrition increased to 435,071,628 globally. The global age-standardized incidence, prevalence, and DALY rates showed an increasing trend between 1990 and 2019. Meanwhile, the burden of child malnutrition was negatively correlated with sociodemographic index (SDI). Asia and Africa still carried the heaviest burden. The burden and trends of child malnutrition varied considerably across countries and regions. At the age level, we found that malnutrition was significantly more prevalent among children < 5 years of age. Conclusion: Pediatric ND remains a major public health challenge, especially in areas with low SDI. Therefore, primary healthcare services in developing countries should be improved, and effective measures, such as enhanced pre-school education, strengthened nutritional support, and early and aggressive treatment, need to be developed. Gynostemma pentaphyllum, a traditional Chinese medicine, is widely used to treat various diseases, but its therapeutic effects and mechanisms of action on hyperlipidemia remain unclear. This study aims to investigate the effects of Danshen leaf on hyperlipidemia through network pharmacology, molecular docking, and cellular experiments, elucidating its multifaceted mechanism of action within the LOX1‐PI3K‐AKT‐eNOS pathway. First, the active ingredients and targets of G. pentaphyllum were screened using the Traditional Chinese Medicine Systems Pharmacology database. Then, targets for hyperlipidemia were identified using the OMIM and GeneCards databases, and potential therapeutic targets for G. pentaphyllum in treating hyperlipidemia were determined. An active ingredient‐target network was constructed using Cytoscape software, and a protein–protein interaction (PPI) network was built and visualized using the STRING database and Cytoscape software. Finally, GO functional and KEGG pathway enrichment analyses were performed, and the predicted mechanisms were validated through molecular docking and cell experiments. 85 targets for G. pentaphyllum and 1556 for Hyperlipidemia were screened, with 53 common targets. Twenty‐four active ingredients of G. pentaphyllum were found to be involved in the treatment of hyperlipidemia. Key nodes such as Rhamnazin, Isofucosterol, and quercetin, and targets NCOA2, NR3C2, PGR, and PPARG showed high relevance. In the PPI network, 8 nodes, including IL6, PPARG, and VEGFA, exhibited high centrality. GO functional and KEGG pathway enrichment analyses indicated that G. pentaphyllum may treat hyperlipidemia by influencing various biological functions and pathways, such as DNA‐binding transcription factor binding, RNA polymerase II‐specific DNA‐binding transcription factor binding, and lipid and atherosclerosis. Cell experiments demonstrated that G. pentaphyllum significantly regulated the expression of key proteins in the LOX1‐PI3K‐AKT‐eNOS pathway, thereby improving hyperlipidemia. G. pentaphyllum improves hyperlipidemia by mediating the LOX1‐PI3K‐AKT‐eNOS pathway. The persistent release of tetracycline into the environment significantly endangers both ecosystems and human health. Zinc indium sulfide (ZnIn 2 S 4 ) capable to degrade tetracycline pollutants under visible light irradiation has attracted extensive attentions and great effort has been devoted to augment its catalytic efficacy. In this work, we synthesized a p-n heterojunction, NiFe 2 O 4 /ZnIn 2 S 4 , to enhance the carrier migration rate and explained the intrinsic mechanism by density functional theory. When the heterojunction was formed, carriers traversed from the n-type NiFe 2 O 4 to the p-type ZnIn 2 S 4 , instigating the emergence of a built-in electric field to facilitate the separation of carriers. 2 %-NiFe 2 O 4 /ZnIn 2 S 4 exhibited excellent photocatalytic efficiency in tetracycline (TC) degradation and total organic carbon (TOC) removal. Compared to pure ZnIn 2 S 4 and NiFe 2 O 4 , the TC degradation rates of 2 %-NiFe 2 O 4 /ZnIn 2 S 4 were 2.0 times and 16.9 times higher, respectively. Additionally, 2 %-NiFe 2 O 4 /ZnIn 2 S 4 had a saturation magnetization intensity of 3.05 emu/g, allowing for rapid recovery of the catalyst under a magnetic field. Superoxide radicals (O 2 - ) and holes (h + ) were the primary active species driving the degradation process. Furthermore, potential reaction pathways of tetracycline in this photocatalytic process were determined and bioconcentration factor and developmental toxicity of the intermediate products were accessed.
