This paper presents a compact, novel, quad patch and triple band single substrate microstrip patch antenna for 5G/6G mm wave applications. The aim is to design an antenna within the K-band with three resonance frequencies at 24, 29, and 34 GHz. The antenna is designed on a volumetric dimension of 11×12.7×1.6 mm³. The substrate used is FR4 (dielectric constant 4.4), having a loss tangent of 0.0022. A microstrip line of width 1 mm for a 50 O impedance line is used to match with the load antenna, which has four rectangular connected patches. Patch dimensions come from standard antenna equations and simulation done on Ansys High-Frequency Structure Simulator software. Validation of simulated results is done through measurements on the prototype antenna. A substantial good agreement is found between the simulated and measured results. The gain of the proposed antenna is 6.16 dBi, with return loss being ≨-10 dB. Bandwidths are 1.1 GHz (23.8 - 24.9 GHz), 0.9 GHz (28.6 - 29.5 GHz), and 0.8 GHz (33.7 - 34.5 GHz), respectively. The far-field radiation characteristics of both E-plane and H-plane are also reported. Microstrip patch antennas have been widely used in contemporary mobile communication technology, including 5G. Previous studies in the area have shown that such antennas can be optimized to operate in different bands of 5G. This study proposes a microstrip patch antenna designed to operate at 26 and 28 GHz and aimed at improving the gain and other radiation characteristics by adding a combination of different slot shapes to a single rectangular patch that is very common and popular in 5G antennas. The results show that the gain is noticeably increased by inserting two hammer slots and a rectangular slot in the middle between them. The dimensions of the slots are optimized using the CST Studio Suite simulator. A comparative analysis was performed to demonstrate the superiority of the proposed over previous designs in terms of gain value and other radiation parameters. This article proposes a novel fixed-frequency beam scanning leakage antenna based on a liquid crystal metamaterial (LCM) and adopting a metal column embedded microstrip line (MCML) transmission structure. Based on the microstrip line (ML) transmission structure, it was observed that by adding two rows of metal columns in the dielectric substrate, electromagnetic waves can be more effectively transmitted to reduce dissipation, and attenuation loss can be lowered to improve energy radiation efficiency. This antenna couples TEM mode electromagnetic waves into free space by periodically arranging 72 complementary split ring resonators (CSRRs). The LC layer is encapsulated in the transmission medium between the ML and the metal grounding plate. The simulation results show that the antenna can achieve a 106° continuous beam turning from reverse −52° to forward 54° at a frequency of 38 GHz with the holographic principle. In practical applications, beam scanning is achieved by applying a DC bias voltage to the LC layer to adjust the LC dielectric constant. We designed a sector-blocking bias feeder structure to minimize the impact of RF signals on the DC source and avoid the effect of DC bias on antenna radiation. Further comparative experiments revealed that the bias feeder can significantly diminish the influence between the two sources, thereby reducing the impact of bias voltage introduced by LC layer feeding on antenna performance. In this comparative study, seven different microstrip antenna shapes, including rectangular, elliptical, triangular, inset fed, H-notch, and E-notch, were observed and analyzed, focusing on their suitability for global positioning system (GPS) application in microsatellites. To enable meaningful comparison, the study utilized the optimal resonant frequency in GPS applications, which is 1.57542 GHz. All the antenna designs have been generated using MATLAB’s Antenna Toolbox and are 100% efficient under ideal conditions with zero polarization loss, which is assumed in the link budget analysis. The results show that each antenna shape has been found to offer distinct advantages and limitations. Along with this, the circular and elliptical patch antenna presented a well-balanced performance, which is suitable for GPS applications. However, the elliptical shape falls behind the circular shape, which was determined to be the most optimal choice for GPS application, providing excellent isotropic antenna gain, return loss, voltage standing wave ratio (VSWR), and strong link budget analysis results. This paper presents the design of a performance-improved 4-port multiple-input–multiple-output (MIMO) antenna proposed for millimeter-wave applications, especially for short-range communication systems. The antenna exhibits compact size, simplified geometry, and low profile along with wide bandwidth, high gain, low coupling, and a low Envelope Correlation Coefficient (ECC). Initially, a single-element antenna was designed by the integration of rectangular and circular patch antennas with slots. The antenna is superimposed on a Roger RT/Duroid 6002 with total dimensions of 17 × 12 × 1.52 mm3. Afterward, a MIMO configuration is formed along with a novel decoupling structure comprising a parasitic patch and a Defected Ground Structure (DGS). The parasitic patch is made up of strip lines with a rectangular box in the center, which is filled with circular rings. On the other side, the DGS is made by a combination of etched slots, resulting in separate ground areas behind each MIMO element. The proposed structure not only reduces coupling from −17.25 to −44 dB but also improves gain from 9.25 to 11.9 dBi while improving the bandwidth from 26.5–30.5 GHz to 25.5–30.5 GHz. Moreover, the MIMO antenna offers good performance while offering strong MIMO performance parameters, including ECC, diversity gain (DG), channel capacity loss (CCL), and mean effective gain (MEG). Furthermore, a state-of-the-art comparison is provided that results in the overperforming results of the proposed antenna system as compared to already published work. This paper presents the design and analysis of a global system for mobile communication applications, as well as the design and analysis of a compact, bidirectional Electrically Small Antenna (ESA) at 0.9 GHz for Radio Frequency Identification (RFID) applications. In order to attain results at lower frequencies while keeping a compact size, the proposed design consists of a microstrip patch antenna in which an SRR and a semicircular-shaped SRR were subtracted from the ground plane. The dimensions of the FR4 substrate, on which this ESA was designed, were 20 × 18 × 1.6 mm. Ansys HFSS was used for the design and simulation of the antenna. Chemical etching was implemented to fabricate the ESA and MS2037C Anritsu Combinational Analyzer was applied for testing. The simulated results show that at 0.9 GHz, the ESA achieves a bandwidth of 300 MHz (700 MHz-1000 MHz). At the resonance frequency, a bidirectional radiation pattern with a 80% radiation efficiency is obtained in both H and E planes. Silicon‐based packaging is highly suitable for miniaturised and cost‐effective integrated systems. However, traditional silicon‐based antenna‐in‐package (AiP) has disadvantages, such as high loss, low efficiency and narrow bandwidth. A glass‐silicon active package system architecture is proposed. Its active part is integrated on a silicon substrate, while the antenna array in the package system is made of glass, which has high radiation efficiency. The proposed antenna structure is an H‐type aperture‐coupled microstrip patch antenna. The authors use a ball grid array to form cavity and two shielding structures to improve the scanning performance of the array. Furthermore, by adding grounding points, the resonance singularity within the shielding structure is eliminated. A test array, composed of 8 × 8 elements was fabricated for the purpose of validating the design. It can achieve wide‐angle scanning greater than ±60° and bandwidth of 29%. Background: The rapid expansion of modern smart applications, demanding faster data transfer and extensive bandwidth, has prompted the development of new-generation networks like 5G and 6G. These networks encompass additional frequency bands such as sub-6 GHz, millimeter waves, and terahertz bands to meet the growing bandwidth requirements. However, despite the substantial bandwidth available in these bands, several challenges must be addressed to overcome unfavorable propagation characteristics. Moreover, numerous applications necessitate wireless devices with antennas that exhibit high flexibility and exceptional radiation responses, particularly when subjected to bending effects. This requirement highlights the importance of polymers-based antennas that can adapt to changing conditions while maintaining optimal performance. The present comprehensive study delves into the performance evaluation of rectangular and circular microstrip antennas utilizing PMMA (polymethyl methacrylate) polymer substrate with varying thicknesses. Results: Notably, CNTs (Carbon Nanotubes) are employed as an alternative to traditional copper for the conductive part and ground plane. Both PMMA-based antennas, integrated with CNTs, exhibit a compact footprint of 27.8 × 47.8 × 1.5 mm3 for the circular antenna and 22.8 × 39.5 × 1.5 mm3 for the rectangular antenna. Impressively, the realized gain of both antennas surpasses 5 dBi, demonstrating robust performance in both flat and bending scenarios across different substrate thicknesses. Conclusions: The rectangular antenna achieves a bandwidth of approximately 200 MHz, while the circular microstrip antenna showcase annotable bandwidth of 500 MHz. These exceptional outcomes position the two microstrip antennas as highly suitable for a diverse range of emerging applications within the sub-6 GHz band (the frequency range below 6 GHz in the radio spectrum). Thus, the combination of PMMA substrate, CNTs and the compact form factor of the antennas presents a compelling solution for meeting the demands of modern applications requiring efficient wireless communication with enhanced performance and bandwidth. Designing antennas for vehicular communication systems presents several unique challenges due to the dynamic nature of vehicular environments, mobility, and the need for reliable connectivity. A wider bandwidth is a critical requirement of vehicular antennas. In this paper, a super-wideband FR4 epoxy-based low-cost meander line patch antenna is designed for fifth-generation (5G) vehicular mobile frequency applications. The proposed antenna is excited through a microstrip feedline on top of the substrate with a continuous ground plane. The meander line is implemented through a theoretical formula to cover upper-5G frequency range 1 (FR1) and frequency range 2 (FR2). The proposed antenna has 7.5 dBi peak gain when operated at 28 GHz. The simulated bandwidth ratio (BWR) is 9.09:1 for a −10 dB reflection coefficient covering a 53.4 GHz (6.6 GHz to 60 GHz) frequency range. The proposed antenna has a linear meander line planar structure, occupies a small area of 34 mm × 20 mm × 1.6 mm, and satisfies the bandwidth requirements of 5G millimeter-wave and sub-bands of the sixth generation for vehicular applications. This paper contains the design and analysis of a compact, bidirectional Electrically Small Antenna (ESA) at 0.9 GHz for Radio Frequency Identification (RFID) and a global system for mobile communication applications. The proposed design consists of a microstrip patch antenna enclosed inside the split ring resonators, in which a split ring resonator was subtracted from the ground plane in order to obtain the results at lower frequencies by maintaining a compact size. This ESA was designed on FR4 substrate having a dimension of 30 mm × 30 mm × 1.6 mm. This antenna was created and simulated with the Ansys HFSS. The ESA was fabricated by chemical etching and it was measured with the MS2037C Anritsu Combinational Analyzer. The simulated results show that the ESA attains a bandwidth of 100 MHz (with S11 < -10 dB) at 0.9 GHz. The bidirectional radiation pattern in both H and E planes with a radiation efficiency of 80% at the resonant frequency was obtained. The paper focuses on the design, measurement, and performance analysis of a high-gain cross-orthogonal series fed two dipole antenna (STDA) arrays with side-wall reflectors. The antenna is specifically designed for 4G Long Term Evolution (LTE) and sub-6 GHz 5G band applications. The designed antenna is capable of operating at multiple frequencies aiming to support 4G LTE and the sub-6 GHz 5G application bands. To improve the radiation characteristics and prevent coupling effects in the presence of side-wall reflectors, parasitic strip pair directors are included in the antenna design. Furthermore, the performance of the designed STDA is evaluated by forming different array configurations, such as 2×1, 2×2, and 2×3 arrays. The various array configurations are proposed to investigate the effect of the projected array arrangements on the radiation pattern, impedance bandwidth, and gain characteristics. The results of the measurements show that the radiation characteristics of the antenna have been improved significantly. The proposed antenna operates at six distinct frequencies for S11 = 10 dB. The operating frequencies at 1.8, 2.35, and 2.6 GHz can be utilized for LTE and 3.2, 4.2, and 5.2 GHz which can support sub-6 GHz 5G bands. The antenna is characterized by its compact size, measuring around 89 mm × 71 mm, while still achieving high gain of 12.3 dB for single STDA element with parasites and with reflector. These results emphasize the importance of the proposed design, which incorporates parasitic strip pair directors and side-wall reflectors. This design methodology plays a crucial role in enhancing the performance of the prescribed STDA array for both 4G LTE and sub-6 GHz 5G applications. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]
