Regarding delay-induced predator-prey systems, extensive research has focused on the phenomenon of delayed destabilization. However, the question of whether delays contribute to stabilizing or destabilizing the system remains a subtle one. In this paper, the predator-prey interaction with discrete delay involving Ivlev-type functional response is studied by theoretical analysis and numerical simulations. The positivity and boundedness of the solution for the delayed model have been discussed. When time delay is accounted as a bifurcation parameter, stability analysis for the coexistence equilibrium is given in theoretical aspect. Supercritical Hopf bifurcation is detected by numerical simulation. Interestingly, by choosing suitable groups of parameter values, the chaotic solutions appear via a cascade of period-doubling bifurcations, which is also detected. The urban underlying surface may affect the thunderstorm process. However, current research on this phenomenon is still in its infancy. This paper aimed to analyze the influence of the urban underlying surface on the evolution of thunderstorm organization through ground observation and numerical simulation. The results indicated that when the thunderstorm system with strong synoptic conditions passed through the built-up area of Beijing, it exhibited obvious bifurcation and detour. The dynamic field of near-surface cold pools could serve as diagnostic indicators for understanding how the urban underlying surface affects the thunderstorm process. The large-scale compact-rise clusters in the city center could alter the movement direction and path of the cold pool outflow, thereby influencing the thunderstorm organization process. In addition to the spatial configuration of the building complex, the city size might also be an important factor influencing the thunderstorm process. Rock can undergo shape deformation and damage due to the influence of joint fissures, and the range of damage caused by joints at different rock bridge angles varies. To study the influence of rock bridge angle on the size effect of rock secant modulus, this paper adopts the principle of regression analysis and combines numerical simulation to carry out relevant research. The research results indicate that: (1) As the rock bridge angle increases, the secant modulus gradually decreases, following a power function relationship. (2) As the rock size increases, the secant modulus shows a trend of first decreasing and then stabilizing, following a power function relationship. (3) As the rock bridge angle increases, the characteristic tangent modulus and characteristic size gradually decrease, following a power function relationship. In the present paper, the influence of liquid flow above the needle on a periodic or chaotic nature of the bubble departures process was numerically investigated. During the numerical simulations bubbles departing from the needle was considered. The perturbations of liquid flow were simulated based on the results of experimental investigations described in the paper [1]. The numerical model contains a bubble growth process and a liquid penetration into a needle process. In order to identify the influence of liquid flow above the needle on a periodic or chaotic nature of bubble departures process, the methods data analysis: wavelet decomposition and FFT were used. It can be inferred that the bubble departure process can be regulated by altering the hydrodynamic conditions above the needle, as variations in the liquid velocity in this area affect the gas supply system's conditions. Moreover, the results of numerical investigations were compared with the results of experimental investigation which are described in the paper [2]. It can be considered that, described in this paper, the numerical model can be used to study the interaction between the bubbles and the needle system for supplying gas during the bubble departures from two needles, because the interaction between the bubbles is related to disturbances in the liquid flow above the needle. For the purpose of improving performance and reducing the fabrication difficulty of terahertz traveling wave tubes (TWTs), this paper proposes a novel single-section high-gain slow wave structure (SWS), which is named the symmetrical quasi-synchronous step-transition (SQSST) folded waveguide (FW). The SQSST-FW SWS has an artificially designed quasi-synchronous region (QSR) to suppress self-oscillations for sustaining a high gain in an untruncated circuit. Simultaneously, a symmetrical design can improve the efficiency performance to some extent. A prototype of the SQSST-FW SWS for 650 GHz TWTs is designed based on small-signal analysis and numerical simulation. The simulation results indicate that the maximum saturation gain of the designed 650 GHz SQSST-FW TWT is 39.1 dB in a 34.3 mm slow wave circuit, occurring at the 645 GHz point when a 25.4 kV 15 mA electron beam and a 0.43 mW sinusoidal input signal are applied. In addition, a maximum output power exceeding 4 W is observed at the 648 GHz point using the same beam with an increased input power of around 2.8 mW. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

Currently, the investigation on the collapse performances of steel frames with various structural scales has not formed a system resultant force, which leads to the current "overall qualitative and local quantitative" modes of structural system anticollapse resistance design. This paper numerically and analytically investigated the load-bearing capacities of the frame assemblies with various structural scales extracted from an overall steel frame structure subjected to the removal of an internal column. First, the accuracy of the numerical simulation methods was verified by comparing with the experimental results of the representative experimental collapse tests with various structural scales. Afterwards, numerical simulation analysis was conducted to investigate the variations in load-resisting capacities, axial forces generated in beams, and bending moments at beam ends in frame assemblies with different structural scales. The finding revealed that the boundary constraint is the one of the most critical parameters influencing the development of various load-bearing mechanisms, which is critical to identifying the internal links among the load-resisting capacities of assemblies with varying different scales. Finally, theoretical analysis methods for achieving the correlation transformation of the collapse capacities of steel frames with different structural scales were proposed, using member resistance based on the evolution laws of internal force among each story beam. The load-displacement curves generated by the display expression and its corresponding numerical models demonstrate a high level of accuracy, which demonstrates that the analytical methods can be employed for structural resistance evaluation before the anticollapse design. This paper investigates consensus control in heterogeneous and uncertain multiple autonomous underwater vehicle (AUV) systems under implicit reduced visibility conditions. We address challenges such as environmental uncertainties and system nonlinearity by utilizing a unified connectivity approach to model low-visibility interactions and heterogeneous multi-AUV dynamics. Our main contributions include developing a feedback linearization model for heterogeneous multi-AUV systems that accounts for uncertainties, introducing an adaptive consensus controller based on relative positioning that effectively manages implicit visual interaction limitations and validating our strategies through stability analysis and numerical simulations. Our simulations demonstrate approximately a 60% improvement in accuracy compared to previous algorithms, highlighting the practical value of our approach in AUV recovery operations. This paper focuses on the application of pile foundation underpinning technology in a deep foundation pit of a subway Viaduct Project in Beijing. The study aims to address the engineering characteristics of the project, including a large number of new piles, a wide span of underpinning abutment, a long length of deep foundation pit, and a wide range of influences. This research utilizes field monitoring and numerical simulation methods to investigate the pile foundation underpinnings. The impact and management of road-deep foundation pit construction are considered, as well as their combined effect on subway viaducts and track structures. The primary accomplishments are as follows: (1) By analyzing the data from on-site deformation monitoring, it is evident that the pier exhibits maximum vertical deformation and maximum transverse deformation at the same location. The measuring locations are specifically situated on Pier 7# at the pile foundation underpinning. The maximum vertical and transverse deformations of the track are directly proportional to the maximum deformation of the pier. (2) By comparing the numerical simulation results with the field monitoring data, it is observed that although there is some discrepancy between the two, the deformation trend is largely consistent. This suggests that the numerical simulation analysis method is effective in reflecting the deformation of the bridge and track. (3) Through the numerical model and changing the values of the retaining structure parameters, the sensitivity of the pier deformation near the road foundation pit to the retaining structure parameters is systematically analyzed. The sensitivity of the pier deformation to the foundation pit parameters is as follows: the embedded depth insertion ratio of the retaining pile > the diameter of the retaining pile > the pile spacing. This paper employs a numerical approach to investigate the impact of liquidity shocks on European options in modeling markets. To accurately capture the behavior of European options under liquidity shocks, a coupled system of differential equations is employed, consisting of a degenerate parabolic equation and a diffusion-free equation. The primary focus is on developing and analyzing implicit-explicit methods for numerically simulating European option pricing, specifically considering the presence of liquidity shocks while ensuring the positivity of the solution. The paper also includes convergence analysis and establishes the discrete comparison principle for the developed methods. Numerical experiments are conducted using both uniform and nonuniform meshes to validate the theoretical findings, demonstrating the efficiency and accuracy of the proposed methods. Micro-mixers and piezoelectric pumps have been studied as independent parts, which achieves only single mixing or pumping functions. A new valveless piezoelectric mixing pump (VPMP) driven by a sinusoidal signal is proposed in this paper to achieve a structure with both pumping and mixing functions. It accomplishes this by placing obstacles in the pump chamber and in the flow channel then adding active mixing. Because it is small in size, has a simple structure and is easy to control, it can be used in micro mixing applications. In this study, numerical simulation analysis using the Fluent software tests if the new VPMP has good mixing and pumping performance, and analyzes the effect of the obstacles. Simultaneously, the results of numerical simulation are verified with experiments. It was proven that the flow rate of the VPMP can reach 12.26 mL/min, and that the liquid can achieve uniform mixing. Moreover, the obstacle placed in the pump chamber has a more obvious impact on the mixing capability, and the obstacle placed in the channel has a more obvious impact on the flow rate. In addition, with the increase of the amplitude of driving signal, the flow rate of the VPMP increased correspondingly. With the increase of the frequency, the flow rate first increased and then decreased. The capability of mixing increased with an increase of working frequency. This paper presents the development of a framework for the parametric design of tunnels using geographic information system (GIS) mapping and building information modelling (BIM). According to the framework, a parametric representation of each system component (e.g., layers of rock mass, size of excavation, topography, fault geometry, primary lining, secondary lining, rock bolts, etc.) can be incorporated in the GIS model with high levels of detail and used for the automatic generation of numerical models for the design of tunnel construction. This parametric evaluation allows the designer to consider several levels of detail for each component, for the efficient design and process optimization in conventional tunneling. Information between parametric analysis and numerical simulations can be freely exchanged with significantly reduced computational effort while results can be exported into BIM. It is anticipated that the proposed framework could lead to a comprehensive, yet efficient analysis of complex conventional tunneling project using parametric evaluations at the early design stages. This paper comprehensively investigates the dynamic mechanical properties of concrete by employing a 75 mm diameter Split Hopkinson Pressure Bar (SHPB). To be detailed further, dynamic compression experiments are conducted on coral aggregate seawater concrete (CASC) to unveil the relationship between the toughness ratio, strain rate, and different strength grades. A three-dimensional random convex polyhedral aggregate mesoscopic model is also utilized to simulate the damage modes of concrete and its components under varying strain rates. Additionally, the impact of different aggregate volume rates on the damage modes of CASC is also studied. The results show that strain rate has a significant effect on CASC, and the strength grade influences both the damage mode and toughness index of the concrete. The growth rate of the toughness index exhibits a distinct change when the 28-day compressive strength of CASC ranges between 60 and 80 MPa, with three times an increment in the toughness index of high-strength CASC comparing to low-strength CASC undergoing high strain. The introduction of pre-peak and post-peak toughness highlights the lowest pre-to-post-peak toughness ratio at a strain rate of approximately 80 s−1, which indicates a shift in the concrete's damage mode. Various damage modes of CASC are under dynamic impact and are consequently defined based on these findings. The LS-DYNA finite element software is employed to analyze the damage morphology of CASC at different strain rates, and the numerical simulation results align with the experimental observations. By comparing the numerical simulation results of different models with varying aggregate volume rates, it is reported that CASC's failure mode is minimized at an aggregate volume rate of 20%. As urban underground spaces continue to develop, new engineering projects are increasingly closer to existing operating tunnels. This study focuses on the impact of excavation work, such as a new tunnel or deep excavation, on an existing shield tunnel. However, few studies have examined the simultaneous effects of excavation and over-crossing tunneling on operational tunnels. This paper presents a case study of Section 2 of Hangzhou Metro Line 7, employing MIDAS GTS to simulate the settlement of the existing tunnel and analyze the data collected through automatic measurements. Both methods demonstrated that excavating a foundation pit near the existing tunnel results in the tunnel's settlement while over-crossing tunneling of the new tunnels leads to the uplift of the existing tunnel. The excavation prompted the existing tunnel to move horizontally toward the foundation pit, whereas over-crossing tunneling pushed it horizontally away. The numerical simulation revealed minor vertical displacement but significant horizontal displacement, aligning closely with the measured data. The impacts of foundation pit excavation and over-crossing tunneling on the vertical and horizontal displacement of existing tunnels are contrary, suggesting that the two construction stages will offset each other. As a basic parameter of rock, the rock bridge angle plays an important role in maintaining the stability of rock masses. To study the size effect of rock bridge angle on the uniaxial compressive strength of rocks, this paper adopts the principle of regression analysis and combines numerical simulation to carry out relevant research. The research results indicate that: (1) the uniaxial compressive strength decreases with the increase of the rock bridge angle, showing a power function relationship; (2) The uniaxial compressive strength decreases with the increase of rock size and tends to stabilize when the rock size is greater than 350 mm, showing a significant size effect. (3) The fluctuation coefficient of compressive strength increases with the increase of rock bridge angle and decreases with the increase of rock size; When the rock size is 350 mm, the fluctuation coefficient is less than 5%; (4) The characteristic compressive strength and characteristic size both increase with the increase of the rock bridge angle. The present paper provides a brief overview of the existing methods for energy separation and an analysis of the possibility of the practical application of the Hartmann–Sprenger effect to provide quasi-isothermal pressure reduction of natural gas at the facilities within a gas transmission system. The recommendations of external authors are analyzed. A variant of a quasi-isothermal pressure regulator is proposed, which assumes the mixing of flows after energy separation. Using a numerical simulation of gas dynamics, it is demonstrated that the position of the resonators can be determined on the basis of calculations of the structure of the underexpanded jet without taking into account the resonator and, accordingly, without the need for time-consuming calculations of the dynamics of the processes. Based on the results of simulating the gas dynamics of two nozzle–resonator pairs installed in a single flow housing, it is shown that, in order to optimize the regulator length, the width of the passage between the two nearest resonators should be greater than or equal to the sum of diameters of the critical sections of the nozzles. Multi-material additive manufacturing using heterogeneous powders as raw materials is one of the important development directions of metal additive manufacturing technology. The evaporation behavior of heterogeneous powders in the selective laser melting (SLM) process has a significant influence on the accuracy of chemical composition control and the quality of the final product. In this paper, the fusion process of Fe20Mn (80 wt.% Fe and 20 wt.% Mn) heterogeneous powder, Fe and Mn elemental powders, and Fe20Mn pre-alloyed powder is numerically simulated using FLOW-3D® software and partially validated through SLM experimental results. The morphology and the characteristics of the flow field and temperature field in the melt pool for four kinds of powder materials are analyzed. The influence of the elemental evaporation behavior of different powders on the mass loss of the Mn element is discussed. The results show that the excessive accumulation of heat increases the maximum temperature of the melt pool, thus increasing mass loss. The Fe20Mn heterogeneous powder has a wider heat-affected zone and a higher peak value of temperature, nearly 400 K higher than that of the Fe20Mn pre-alloyed powders, which exhibits an intensive evaporation behavior. The mass loss of the Mn element obtained from the SLM experiment for Fe20Mn heterogeneous powders forming parts is more than the Fe20Mn pre-alloyed powders' forming parts for different laser powers, up to 17 wt.% at P = 120 W. This tendency is consistent with the numerical analysis of the effect of evaporation behavior of Fe–Mn heterogeneous powder during the SLM process. This study provides the necessary theoretical reference and process guidance for realizing the precise control of the SLM composition of a heterogeneous powder in multi-material additive manufacturing caused by evaporation behavior. The paper presents the use of numerical modeling results for multivariate simulation of the manufacturing process of a wheel hub forging made of 20 HG alloy. The QForm 3D program was used to analyze the issue, which allowed to analyze the forging process without the need for expensive tools and technological tests. Based on insights from several variants of numerical calculations, new technology solutions were proposed, reducing the number of deficiencies found in industrial practice. In order to obtain full information about the phenomena occurring in the deformation process, numerical calculations were carried out in the areas of material flow, the degree of filling of blanks, the distribution of deformations and stresses in the various stages of the forging process in the die, and the elimination of defects in products. Unlike uniform motion, when an object moves underwater with variable speed, it experiences additional resistance from the water, commonly referred to as added mass force. At present, several methods exist to solve this force, including theoretical, experimental, and simulation approaches. This paper addresses the challenge of determining the added mass force for irregularly shaped small objects undergoing variable speed motion underwater, proposing a method to obtain the added mass force through numerical simulation. It employs regression analysis and parameter separation analysis to solve the added mass force, added mass, viscous drag coefficient, and pressure drag coefficient. The results indicate that an added mass force exists during both the acceleration and deceleration of the object, with little difference between them. Under the same velocity conditions, significant differences exist in pressure drag forces, while differences in viscous drag forces are not significant. This suggests that the primary source of added mass force is pressure drag, with viscous drag having little effect on it. During acceleration, the surrounding fluid accelerates with the object, increasing the pressure drag with a high-pressure area concentrating at the object's front, forming an added mass force that is directed backward. By contrast, during deceleration, the fluid at the object's front tends to detach, and the fluid at the rear rushes forward, leading to a smaller high-pressure area at the front and a larger one at the rear, reducing the pressure drag and forming an added mass force that is directed forward. By comparing the added mass of a standard ellipsoid obtained from numerical simulation with theoretical values, the regression analysis method is proven to be highly accurate and entirely applicable for solving the added mass of underwater vehicles. Upper protective layer (UPL) mining is extensively utilised as a pressure relief strategy to prevent outbursts and coal bursts. However, when the excavation height of the protected layer is substantial, the depressurisation efficacy of the protective layer may be diminished. This paper takes the Haishiwan coal mine in China as a case study and explores the stress evolution and influencing factors in the mining of extra-thick coal seam beneath the protective layer through theoretical analysis, numerical simulation, and field observation. The results indicate that increasing the excavation height of the coal seam will lead to the upward development of the collapse zone in the overburden of the goaf, with the "masonry beam" structure formed at a higher position by key strata blocks. The overburden above the masonry beam will be supported by the coal rock masse on both sides of the structure, leading to increased stress on the coal seam near the goaf and eliminating the depressurisation effect of the protective layer. Numerical simulation shows that factors such as faults, protective layers, interlayer spacing, and the height of coal seam excavation significantly affect the stress distribution in the protected layer. With the increase in interlayer spacing and the thickness of coal seam extraction, the stress reduction phenomenon of the UPL gradually decreases, especially with an abnormal stress concentration of the gob-side coal seam. Observations of Surface subsidence and the distribution of mining-induced seismic events corroborate the conclusions of theoretical analysis and numerical simulations. Carbon dioxide (CO2) is being considered for use to enhance oil recovery and resource utilization and storage, with wide technical adaptability. In this paper, a numerical simulation method is used to study the adaptability of CO2 huff and puff in shale reservoirs. A fluid model introduces the nanoconfinement effect and reflects the nanoconfinement effect using the fluid p–T phase diagram. This method uses local grid refinement and changes the permeability near the grid to characterize the reservoir reconstruction volume (SRV) fracture network while considering the CO2 diffusion effect. The results indicate that by using the incremental recovery rate and oil change rate as references, adaptive charts can be obtained for different Kf/Km and oil saturation. When Kf/Km is 1000 and the increase in the CO2 recovery rate reaches 1.5%, the lower limit of oil saturation is 0.54. When Kf/Km is 1000 and the increase in the CO2 recovery rate reaches 2%, the lower limit of oil saturation is 0.57. When the oil saturation is 0.5 and the CO2 huff and puff oil change rate reaches 0.3, the lower limit of Kf/Km is 700. Finally, when the oil saturation is 0.548 and the CO2 huff and puff oil change rate reaches 0.6, the lower limit of Kf/Km is 10. This paper proposes an assembled X-shaped flexural steel damper. Welding is waived for the novel damper. As the kernel element of the damper, the X-shaped flexural steel plates have the advantages of ease of installation and replacement if necessary. In the analytical part, the effective height of the flexural steel plate was suggested, and then, the yield displacement, yield load and initial stiffness of the damper were derived. The proof-of-concept cyclic loading test was conducted using one reduced-scale specimen within a four-bar linkage experimental setup. The hysteretic performance indexes, including strength, stiffness and energy dissipation, were quantified. The high-fidelity finite element (FE) models were established by ABAQUS. The parametric study was further conducted based on the verified FE model. The considered parameters were the height and thickness of the steel plates. The testing results indicate that the proposed damper has plump hysteretic curve with good energy dissipation capacity and excellent ductility, although slight slip behavior can be found due to the gap caused by the assembling process. The results obtained from analytical method and numerical model are in good agreement with the experimental data. The results of parametric analysis show that the numerical results well agree with analytical predictions, indicating the numerical model can reflect the mechanical behavior of AXSFD. A benchmark frame building was selected to demonstrate the seismic control efficacy of the damper. In this paper, we propose and analyse a predator-prey model with disease in prey. We assume that a portion of healthy prey takes refuge to avoid predation. We find the biologically feasible equilibrium points and their stability criteria by using linearization technique. We also perform Hopf bifurcation analysis around the co-existing equilibrium point. We use substantial numerical simulation to verify our theoretical results and to investigate rich dynamics that are not possible to achieve analytically. We illustrate rich dynamics such as Hopf bifurcation. chaos, bistability, and others using one and two parameter bifurcation diagrams. We find that disease invasion in prey can produce chaos by inducing period-doubling bifurcation. but refuge can reduce chaos by causing period-halving bifurcation. The treelike structure links members and transfers loads via its solitary cast steel joint with branches. Therefore, the joint's bearing capacity significantly affects the treelike structure's stability, security, and economics. This paper utilized experimental verification and numerical modeling to examine the mechanical behavior of cast-steel joints with branches in the treelike structure under various loading conditions. Then, researchers investigated the failure process and mechanism of joints, and the three most common failure modes were outlined. Furthermore, the researchers proposed the bearing capacity calculation formula based on the common failure modes. The results show that the three common failure modes of the cast-steel joints with branches under different loading conditions are the failure in the joint core area under the axial load, the failure in the main pipe compression side under eccentric load, and the failure in the compression side of the single branch pipe root when the single branch pipe is under the uneven load. In this work we base our analysis on a seminal paper by Paul Germain (1973) in which the principle of virtual work is used to found microstructured continuum mechanics. Recently, it was shown that a particular considered microstructured continuum can be regarded as a second gradient continuum of the kind studied by Germain. To prove how these theoretical ideas can be useful in applications, we present the paradigmatic case of pantographic metamaterials, in which the deformation energy may depend only on placement second gradient being independent on placement first gradient. In this case, the numerical simulations become more efficient by introducing the Lagrange multipliers which are dual in work of the introduced kinematical constraint, so proving that the viewpoint about stress presented originally by Lagrange is the most fruitful one. Core-shell droplets exhibit advantageous physical and chemical properties attributed to their unique structural composition, thereby presenting broader prospects for application in diverse fields including biomedicine, drug delivery, food science, and cosmetics industry. Controllable preparation of monodisperse, small-volume, and effectively encapsulated core-shell droplets is crucial for advancing various applications. In this paper, coaxial electrohydrodynamic (EHD) printing technology is used to generate uniform and stable arrays of water-in-oil core-shell droplets. By using theoretical analysis and numerical simulation to determine the conditions for stable generation of water-in-oil droplets, this study successfully addresses the issue of unstable coaxial charged jets and the generation of satellite droplets by monitoring the jet recognition. The simulation results show that too high voltage and inner axis solution supply speed can lead to the formation of satellite droplets or spray. When Qout/Qin≥1, it is less likely to produce satellite droplets. Combining the results of numerical simulation and the jet recognition module, the coaxial jet mode can be effectively monitored. The jet is controlled in a stable printing mode (pulsating droplet mode) and complete in one injection within 5 ms to achieve uniform droplet arrays with diameters around 50 μm and a droplet diameter coefficient of variation (CV) below 6%. This work provides significant help on the injection morphology control of water-in-oil droplets, and provides a feasible technical means for the application of coaxial EHD printing technology in various fields such as bioassay, biosensing, and fluorescence display. A V-shaped blunt leading edge(VSBLE) at the lips of three-dimensional inward-turning inlets often generates complex shock interactions and severe aerothermal loads. To date, few heat flux reduction schemes have been devised based on the generation principle of the heat flux peaks on the VSBLE. Employing a synergistic approach of theoretical analysis and numerical simulation, it is determined that the maximum pressure jump ( p max / p ∞ ) provided by the near-wall secondary shock interaction structure significantly influences the outermost heat flux peak ( q peak 1 ) and exhibits a strong correlation with the deflection angle ( θ EF ) of the upstream flow. Consequently, we design a heat flux reduction model incorporating an expansion corner (EC) to validate this finding. The simulation results demonstrated a 54.23% reduction in q peak 1 under the influence of the expansion fan generated by the EC at Mach 6, although the remaining heat flux peaks, q peak 2 and q peak 3 , experience some deterioration. After conducting a comparative analysis and modeling the causes of deterioration, we propose an improved model by designing the crotch centerline. This improved model consistently demonstrated excellent performance in reducing the maximum heat flux peak and preventing the deterioration of the other heat flux peaks at Mach 6-12. Additionally, correlations between q peak 1 and p max / p ∞ , as well as between q peak 1 and θ EF are established. This paper presents an investigation into the key factors affecting the heat flux peaks on the VSBLE and proposes a model capable of ensuring a stable reduction in the maximum heat flux of over 40% under a wide range of Mach numbers. The paper presents a solution that can be used as a temporary supplement to the existing infrastructure in cases of natural disasters, during structure or bridge repair, in military applications and in areas where it is necessary to provide a floating system crossing. The genesis of the proposed structure and its development, as well as examples of applications of the basic module, referred to as the river module – the floating cassette with the pneumatic pontoon – are presented. The original solutions, such as the bow–stern modules, designed using modern, light and durable materials acting as deflectors, are also described. Examples of the use of floating structures composed of identical/repeatable modules–cassettes are shown. The results of experimental tests of two prototype river modules sets are presented as a validation for numerical studies. Selected aspects of static, kinematic and dynamic analyses using finite element and multibody simulations are presented. The numerical simulation of the prototype floating bridge with an assessment of the impact of clearances and an estimation of the kinematic parameters of the floating ribbon with various configurations are described. In this paper,the stability of the roof-cutting strip-shaped mine column at the top of the Stage open-stope backfilling method of the Jinchanghe ZnV3 orebody is taken as the research object. By analyzing the distribution law of the stress state of the stope at different stages, combined with the current situation of the anchoring support of the broken surrounding rock of the roof, in order to improve the stability of the strip-shaped mine column, the method of combining theoretical analysis and numerical simulation is used for research and analysis. The research results show that the optimization scheme of alternately arranging 4 m wide drilling chamber and 3 m wide strip-shaped mine column on both sides of the roof-cutting contact channel can effectively share the influence of stress concentration on the strip-shaped mine column and greatly improve the stability of the strip-shaped mine column. The optimization scheme changes the roof support area and further improves the stability of the roof after the goaf. According to the research results, industrial experiments were carried out to verify the feasibility of the optimization scheme, which is of great significance to safety production and can be applied in mines. The optimization of the roof cutting project further improves the stability of the roof under the condition of improving the stability of the strip-shaped mine column, which can provide a reference for similar mines. In this paper, a distributed bearing-based formation control scheme with finite-time convergency is proposed for multiple underactuated surface vessels (USVs). By virtue of the guide point-based model transformation method, the dimension of underactuated tracking error dynamics can be reduced from three to two. This allows us to convert the actuator model to a fully form that matches dimension-reduced tracking error dynamics. Further, to reduce the computation complexity, a finite-time recruited filter is designed according to first-order Levant differentiator. At meanwhile, auxiliary error compensation signals are introduced to address unknowns stemming from filter process and system dynamics. Since merely relative-distances and inner bearings are utilized in the proposed bearing-based formation approaches, the proposed control scheme provides a feasible solution to achieve formation control under body-fixed frame. For all humanity, the sudden outbreak of Corona Virus Disease 2019 has been an important problem. Timely and effective media coverage is considered to be one of the effective approaches to control the spread of epidemic in early stage. In this paper, a Sentiment‐enabled Susceptible‐Exposed‐Infected‐Recovered (SEIR) model is established to reveal the relationship between the propagation of the epidemic and media coverage. The authors take the positive and negative media coverage into consideration when implementing the Sentiment‐enabled SEIR model. This model is constructed by parameterizing the number of current confirmed cases, cumulative cured cases, cumulative deaths, and media coverage. The numerical simulation and sensitivity analysis are conducted based on the Sentiment‐enabled SEIR model. The numerical analysis confirms the rationality of the Sentiment‐enabled SEIR model. The sensitivity analysis shows that positive media coverage acts a pivotal part in reducing the figure for confirmed cases. In order to understand and master the diffusion mechanism and spatial concentration distribution of hydrogen leakage in the engine room, this paper studies the diffusion behavior and concentration distribution of hydrogen under the coupling effect of multiple factors, and further explores the optimal installation location of the sensors. The results indicate that when the ventilation rate increases by 1, 2, and 3 times, the diffusion volume of hydrogen decreases by about 0.4, 0.5, and 0.6 times. The harm of the increase in leakage diameter is greater than the leakage pressure. And the temperature has a greater impact on the hydrogen volume fraction in areas below 4 % and a smaller impact on areas above 4 %. The aim of this paper is to establish a precise illustration for the structure of the nonconstant steady states for a Beddington–DeAngelis and Tanner predator–prey reaction–diffusion system with prey‐taxis. We treat the nonlinear prey‐taxis as a bifurcation parameter to analyze the bifurcation structure of the system. Furthermore, the exported global bifurcation theorem, under a rather natural condition, offers the existence of nonconstant steady states. In the proof, a priori estimates of steady states will play an important role. The local stability analysis with a numerical simulation and bifurcation analysis are given. In this paper, we propose an approach for describing wave propagation in finite-size microstructured metamaterials using a reduced relaxed micromorphic model. This method introduces an additional kinematic field with respect to the classical Cauchy continua, allowing to capture the effects of the underlying microstructure with a homogeneous model. We show that the reduced relaxed micromorphic model is not only effective for studying infinite-size metamaterials, but also efficient for numerical simulations and analysis on specimens of finite size. This makes it an essential tool for designing and optimizing metamaterials structures with specific wave propagation properties. The proposed model's efficiency is assessed through numerical simulations for finite-size benchmark problems, and shows a good agreement for a wide range of frequencies. The possibility of producing the same macroscopic metamaterial with different but equivalent unit cell "cuts" is also analyzed, showing that, even close to the boundary, the reduced relaxed micromorphic model is capable of giving accurate responses for the considered loading and boundary conditions. This paper proposes a cooperative pursuit strategy against a maneuvering target by introducing a cascaded optimization framework for assignment and guidance. The cooperative guidance algorithm, guaranteeing both encirclement and simultaneous attack constraints, is derived by optimizing the normal impact–direction and tangential impact–time control efforts, respectively. Then, by minimizing the performance index identical to the guidance loop, an assignment approach is proposed to allocate the desired impact direction and time for each pursuer. Since the assignment and guidance strategies share a unified optimization tenet in a cascaded manner, the proposed integrated cooperative method proves more efficient than the existing guidance-only methods. Recently, extended detrended fluctuation analysis (EDFA) has been proposed, which, along with the study of long-range power-law correlations, takes into account signal inhomogeneity, leading to a significant spread of local fluctuations for individual segments. This method introduces an additional scaling exponent to characterize the effects of nonstationarity. An unexpected result is negative values of the corresponding exponent for some processes. The paper examines the reason for this phenomenon and shows that the type of correlations plays a key role: the appearance of negative values is caused by the stationarity of the profiles of anti-correlated data. Understanding the relevant features allows us to achieve a more complete understanding of the effects of correlations type when applying the EDFA method, in particular, in diagnosing the complex dynamics of natural systems, including electrical activity of the brain. Electric Vehicles (EVs) are becoming more and more popular in our daily life, which replaces traditional fuel vehicles to reduce carbon emissions and protect the environment. EVs need to be charged, but the number of charging piles in a Charging Station (CS) is limited, and charging is usually more time-consuming than fueling. According to this scenario, we propose a secure and efficient charging scheduling system based on a Directed Acyclic Graph (DAG)-blockchain and double-auction mechanism. In a smart area, it attempts to assign EVs to the available CSs in the light of their submitted charging requests and status information. First, we design a lightweight charging scheduling framework that integrates DAG-blockchain and modern cryptography technology to ensure security and scalability during performing scheduling and completing tradings. In this process, a constrained multi-item double-auction problem is formulated because of the limited charging resources in a CS, which motivates EVs and CSs in this area to participate in the market based on their preferences and statuses. Due to this constraint, our problem is more complicated and harder to achieve truthfulness as well as system efficiency compared to the existing double-auction model. To adapt to it, we propose two algorithms, namely, Truthful Mechanism for Charging (TMC) and Efficient Mechanism for Charging (EMC), to determine an assignment between EVs and CSs and pricing strategies. This study aims to address the issue of high energy consumption in the hydrocyclone separation process. By introducing a novel slotted overflow pipe structure and utilizing experimental and response surface optimization methods, the optimal parameters were determined. The research results indicate that the number of slots, slot angles, and positioning dimensions significantly influence the performance of the hydrocyclone separator. The optimal combination was found to be three layers of slots, a positioning dimension of 5.3 mm, and a slot angle of 58°. In a Φ100mm hydrocyclone separator, validated through multiple experiments, the separation efficiency increased by 0.26% and the pressure drop reduced by 24.88% under a flow rate of 900 ml/s. CFD simulation verified the reduction in internal flow field velocity and pressure drop due to the slotted structure. The cleaning system is a critical component of the sugarcane chopper harvester, facing challenges such as high impurity rate, elevated power consumption, and an inadequate understanding of the cleaning mechanism. This study aims to simulate the process of removing extraneous matter (represented by sugarcane leaves) from the cleaning system by employing a coupling approach of computational fluid dynamics (CFD) and the discrete element method (DEM) to determine the speed of the extractor fan. Initially, a CFD model was established to analyze the airflow field within the extractor, and its accuracy was verified on a test bench for the cleaning system. Subsequently, a DEM model was developed for sugarcane billets and leaves, which was then integrated with the CFD model to form a gas–solid coupling model. The efficacy of this integrated model was confirmed through experimental measurements of impurity rate. Furthermore, a ternary quadratic regression orthogonal combination design was utilized in the gas–solid coupling simulation to assess the impacts of feed rate, leaf–stalk ratio, and extractor fan speed on impurity rate. Finally, the extractor fan speeds were obtained for various feed rates and leaf–stalk ratios under impurity rates of 5%, 6%, 7%, and 8%. Theoretical analysis and numerical simulation are used to study the influence of different parameters of variable diameter borehole pressure relief technology on the surrounding rock and support. A strain-softening model was established to analyze the intrinsic connection between the parameters of variable diameter boreholes and the evolution of surrounding rock stress, deformation law, and support strength. The results show that: (1) With the increase in shallow borehole diameter, it is easy to cause anchor de-anchoring phenomenon. (2) After the deep borehole diameter is more than 250 mm, it transfers the peak of the shallow vertical stress to the deep surrounding rock (about 16 m away from the coal wall). (3) If the position of the variable borehole aperture is set between the anchorage zone and the stress peak of the roadway, the stress transfer effect is better, and the influence and effective binding force on the surrounding rock is smaller. (4) When the spacing is 1.0 m~2.0 m, the vertical stress starts to transfer to the deep surrounding rock, the deformation of the surrounding rock is smaller, and the reduction in the effective binding force of the anchors is smaller. The work focuses on the characterization of the flowfield over a truncated linear aerospike by combining theoretical grounds, numerical simulations and experimental tests. The experimental investigations are carried out on a test rig designed at Politecnico di Torino for advanced nozzle testing. Fully three-dimensional CFD analyses are performed on the actual geometry of the experimental nozzle model. At low nozzle pressure ratios (nprs) the analysis combines numerical simulations and experimental testing, which are also used for validating the CFD results. At higher nprs, the flowfield characterization is performed only by three-dimensional CFD analyses. In this work, we develop a trajectory tracking control method for unmanned surface vessels (USVs) based on real-time compensation for actual wave disturbances. Firstly, wave information from the actual sea surface is extracted through stereoscopic visual observations, and data preprocessing is performed using a task-driven point cloud downsampling network. We reconstruct the phase-resolved wave field in real time. Subsequently, the wave disturbances are modeled mechanically, and real-time wave disturbances are used as feedforward inputs. Furthermore, an adaptive backstepping sliding mode control law based on command filters is designed to avoid differential explosion and mitigate sliding mode chattering. An adaptive law is also designed to estimate and compensate for other external disturbances and inversion error bounds that cannot be computed in real time. What are the geometrical and mechanical properties ruling bistability of Kresling origami metamaterials? How can we tune the magnitude of their axial-torsional coupling? Complete answers to these compelling questions cannot be found in the scientific literature, as the intertwining between bistability, axial-torsional coupling and an other significant behaviour, namely transverse dilation/contraction, remains mostly uninvestigated. This contribution aims at shedding light on this intertwining, through the use of a discrete model of Kresling origami that takes into account folding resistance. The present study is mostly computational and involves both pre- and post-critical analyses. It is based on displacement controlled tests — shearing and axial shortening/lengthening. Single-storey Kresling origami's are first considered, preliminarly to multiple-storey tubes, where buckling is observed. Several parameters are taken into account such as the number of storeys, stretching and folding stiffnesses, and – for shearing tests – the prescribed displacement direction in the transversal plane. • An in situ bitumen decomposition kinetic model is developed. • The significance of bitumen decomposition to oil recovery is discussed. • A green and economical recovery tech without steam additives injection from surface. • The tech has higher oil production, lower steam consumption and carbon emission. In the late stages of Steam Assisted Gravity Drainage (SAGD) development, the increase in steam chamber volume and greater heat losses result in elevated thermal losses, and increased CO 2 emissions, leading to reduced economic efficiency. To address this issue, this paper proposes a pioneering approach, termed the in situ solvent generation enhanced SAGD technique (ISSG-SAGD). Through a comprehensive review of Athabasca bitumen aquathermolysis, thermal cracking, and their phase behavior with solvents, a general reaction kinetic model and fluid model are established. Subsequently, the feasibility and recovery mechanism of ISSG-SAGD are elucidated by employing numerical simulation that compares SAGD with ISSG-SAGD. Results show that, in comparison to SAGD, ISSG-SAGD reduces steam consumption by 13.77 %, lowers carbon intensity by 18.12 % and increases oil production by 5.48 %. These advantages arise from the synergistic integration of recovery mechanisms characteristic of Expanding Solvent SAGD (ES-SAGD) and Steam and Gas Push (SAGP). Notably, non-condensable gas accumulation above the steam chamber diminishes heat loss while replenishing reservoir energy. Simultaneously, light hydrocarbons are strategically positioned at the drainage interface, leading to a reduction in residual oil saturation and an increment in drainage rates. • Mechanical response characteristics of beam-column substructures exposed to fire are analyzed. • Explicit calculation formulas for determining the collapse resistance are derived in detail. • Proposed theoretical calculated formulas agree well with these from numerical simulations. • Error analysis is conducted to reveal deviation reasons between theoretical model and numerical simulations. This paper provides a simplified analytical model for the restrained steel beam-column substructure under a fire-induced progressive collapse scenario, which is applied to predict the collapse resistance of substructures under fire. The simplified model is formulated for axially and rotationally restrained two-span steel beam-column substructures under column-loss scenarios and involves rigid and semi-rigid connections. The response characteristics of restrained substructures exposed to fire under column-loss scenarios in each response stage are elaborately analyzed. A "negative" catenary stage, in consideration of the unique negative axial force effects induced by the temperature thermal expansion, was first introduced in the five-stage simplified model for restrained substructures exposed to fire against progressive collapse. Subsequently, the explicit calculation formulas for determining the vertical loads and deflection of both rigid and semi-rigid joint substructures exposed to fire were derived in a quantified way, based on rigid-plastic mechanisms and restraint coefficient methods. In addition, the corresponding numerical simulation analysis on a restrained two-span steel beam-column substructure with different end constraints and fire conditions was carried out to verify the applicability and reliability of established theoretical formulas. Comparisons of vertical load-deflection relationships between the calculation formulas and corresponding numerical simulation shows good accuracy. For more accurate prediction results, the error analysis was further conducted, and several theoretical formulas were modified, which were verified to be accurate and reliable after correction. Ducted-fan drones are expected to become the main drone configuration in the future due to their high efficiency and minimal noise. When drones operate in confined spaces, significant proximity effects may interfere with the aerodynamic performance and pose challenges to flight safety. This study utilizes computational fluid dynamics simulation with the Unsteady Reynolds-averaged Navier–Stokes (URANS) method to estimate the proximity effects. Through experimental validation, our computational results show that the influence range of proximity effects lies within four rotor radii. The ground effect and the ceiling effect mainly affect thrust properties, while the wall effect mainly affects the lateral force and the pitching moment. In ground effect, the rotor thrust increases exponentially by up to 26% with ground distance compared with that in open space. Minimum duct thrust and total thrust are observed at one rotor radius above the ground. In ceiling effect, all the thrusts rise as the drone approaches the ceiling, and total thrust increases by up to 19%. In wall effect, all the thrusts stay constant. The pitching moment and lateral force rise exponentially with the wall distance. Changes in blade angle of attack and duct pressure distributions can account for the performance change. High-speed centrifugal pumps are widely used in several industries due to their high efficiency and small footprint. In actual applications, there are issues such as low operational efficiency and a small high-efficiency flow interval; particularly, the leakage occurring in the impeller channel gap presents a significant barrier to the pump's performance and stability. This study takes the fully open impeller miniature high-speed centrifugal pump as the object and uses a numerical simulation calculation method. The objective of this research endeavor is to analyze the effects of different flow conditions on a high-speed centrifugal pump's external characteristics, flow field characteristics, and energy loss. The findings indicate that lobe top clearance exerts a substantial impact on the efficiency of high-speed centrifugal pumps. Increasing the lobe top clearance will result in a reduction in pump head and efficiency, particularly under high flow conditions. The lobe top clearance has a significant impact on the complexity of the flow in the impeller, particularly the flow close to the suction surface of the impeller, according to an analysis of the flow field characteristics. The energy loss analysis further confirms the importance of reducing lobe top clearance for improving pump performance and reducing energy loss.
