Aim: To conduct a discursive review on continuous glucose monitoring use among Black older adults and to address the issue of racial disparities in diabetes management and outcomes. Type 2 diabetes mellitus is a global health concern with significant complications and mortality rates. Black older adults are disproportionately affected. Initially designed for type 1 diabetes, continuous glucose monitoring has emerged as an innovative tool for type 2 diabetes mellitus management. Despite its potential, there are challenges related to adherence and digital literacy among Black older adults for managing Diabetes. Design: A discursive review. Methods: Searching literature in PubMed, Scopus, and Google Scholar for papers published from 2017 to 2023, we explored the use of continuous glucose monitoring in Black older adults with type 2 diabetes mellitus, examining barriers, facilitators and challenges. Discussion: We highlight recommendations from the literature which included barriers, facilitators, and cultural factors associated with continuous glucose monitoring use. Findings underscore the importance of addressing these challenges to reduce racial–ethnic disparities in type 2 diabetes mellitus management among Black older adults. Nurses and advanced practice registered nurses are at the forefront and can play a pivotal role in exploring and implementing interventions to promote access and proper use of continuous glucose monitoring among Black older adult patients with type 2 diabetes mellitus. Aim(s): To undertake a systematic review of the practice patterns and roles of advanced practice nurses (APNs) in inpatient and outpatient stroke‐care services; and to evaluate the impact of APN‐led inpatient and outpatient stroke‐care services on clinical and patient‐reported outcomes. Design: A mixed‐methods systematic review. Methods: A systematic search was conducted across six electronic databases for primary studies. Data were synthesised using a convergent integrated approach. Data Sources (Include Search Dates) *for Reviews Only: A systematic search was conducted across PubMed, CINAHL, Cochrane Library, Embase, PsycInfo and ProQuest Dissertations & Theses Global, for primary studies published between the inception of the databases and 3 November 2022. Results: Findings based on the 18 included primary studies indicate that the APNs' roles have been implemented across the continuum of stroke care, including pre‐intervention care, inpatient care and post‐discharge care. Practicing at an advanced level, the APNs engaged in clinical, operational and educational undertakings across services and disciplines. Positive clinical and patient‐reported outcomes have been attributed to their practice. Conclusion: The review highlights the critical role of APNs in improving stroke care, especially in the pre‐intervention phase. Their clinical expertise, patient‐centered approach and collaboration can transform stroke care. Integrating APNs into stroke care teams is essential for better management and outcomes in light of the increasing stroke burden. Implications for the profession and/or patient care: Healthcare institutions should integrate APNs to enhance pre‐intervention stroke care, improve diagnostic accuracy and expedite treatment. APNs can prioritise patient‐centric care, including assessments, coordination and education. Medication reconciliation, timely rehabilitation referrals and lifestyle modifications for secondary stroke prevention are crucial. Implementing advanced practice nursing frameworks ensures successful APN integration, leading to improved stroke care and better patient outcomes in response to the growing stroke burden. Aim: To obtain an in‐depth understanding of the lived experiences, values, and beliefs of Taiwanese women with breast cancer who withdrew from cancer treatment. Background: Fear of side effects, negative experiences and personal beliefs were identified as reasons for withdrawing from cancer treatments. Body–mind consciousness and body autonomy play a crucial role in cancer treatment decisions. Design: Descriptive phenomenological approach. Methods: We conducted semi‐structured, face‐to‐face and in‐depth interviews with 16 women diagnosed with breast cancer. Participants were purposefully selected from the Cancer Registry database. Employing a phenomenological approach, our aim was to explore the lived experiences of these individuals. Data analysis followed Giorgi's five‐step process. To ensure a comprehensive report the COREQ checklist was applied. Findings: 'The Determination to Preserve Me' is the essence of treatment withdrawal, identified by three themes and seven sub‐themes. 'Raising Body‐Mind Consciousness' was generated using body autonomy and preventing repeated psychological trauma from the participant's view. Their lifestyles, maintaining the family role, and returning to a normal trajectory help develop 'Maintaining Stability for Being a Patient and a Family Carer'. 'Self‐Defending Against the Body Harm' was generated by concerns about maintaining health and preventing harm. Conclusion: Women's behaviours became transformed by suffering. Actions were influenced by physical and psychological distress, misconceptions about treatments, and appearance changes by self‐determination through self‐protection. Relevance to clinical practice: Healthcare professionals should respect women's autonomy and work collaboratively to ensure their decision‐making with accurate information and awareness of the potential risks and benefits of treatment withdrawal need to concern. Aim: To understand the content and context of a realized peer mentor intervention, and to explore how mentors and mentees experienced the intervention. Design: The study was designed as a qualitative process evaluation of a 24-week peer mentor intervention. Methods: Semi-structured individual interviews were conducted from November 2021 to May 2022 in a purposeful sample of older vulnerable people with ischemic heart disease, referred to as mentees (n = 13), and their peer mentors (n = 12). Thematic analysis was used to analyse, categorize and interpret interview data. Results: Five themes captured the content and context of the peer mentor intervention as experienced by mentors and mentees. 'Takes one to know one', stressing the importance of the mentor--mentee matching process; 'Varying demand for mentors', illustrating the difficulties in predicting who has the greatest need for mentoring; 'Varying degree of familiarity', describing the mentor--mentee relationship as a continuum from formal mentor to informal friend; 'Putting the patient first', illustrating how mentors support mentees based on their personal experiences of successful recovery while letting the mentee set the pace and goals; and 'Varying view of success', showing how intervention success is perceived differently by mentors and mentees. Conclusions: The study provides new knowledge on how and under what contextual circumstances a mentor intervention works. These findings are important for the implementation of future peer mentor interventions to achieve successful peer mentor support. Implications and Impact: Non-attendance and drop-out from the cardiac rehabilitation program are prevalent problems among older vulnerable people with cardiovascular disease. This study describes a low-cost peer mentor intervention that can support this group of patients. Reporting Method: Standards for reporting qualitative research (SRQR) guided our study.
