In the rapidly evolving field of Artificial Intelligence (AI), its application in industrial settings, particularly for anomaly detection in time series data, poses unique challenges. Current methods often lack a comprehensive understanding of the trade-offs involved in achieving optimal model performance, data preparation effort, and prediction quality. To bridge this gap, this paper presents an adaptive approach to address these challenges, focusing on making conscious decisions about mentioned trade-offs. Inspired by the principles of the Iron Triangle from product engineering, our methodology introduces a novel "AI triangle" with dimensions of Speed, Effort, and Quality. We applied this methodology to a real-world case study involving anomaly detection in a constrained hardware environment in the context of a forming production process. The results highlight the effectiveness of our approach in achieving a practical balance between speed, effort, and quality constraints for implementing AI in an industrial setting. To investigate the rate of registered protocols published as research papers as a measure of publication bias, and the concordance rates of the primary outcomes between research protocol and published papers as a measure of selective outcome reporting bias in randomized controlled trials (RCTs) related to rehabilitation. Protocols related to RCTs were extracted from electronic databases, the University Hospital Medical Information Network (UMIN), International Standard Research Clinical Trial Number (ISRCTN), ClinicalTrials.gov, and MEDLINE. Published papers were retrieved from MEDLINE. The inclusion criteria were as follows: (1) initial registration (UMIN, ISRCTN, ClinicalTrials.gov) within the designated period; (2) published as a paper from a research protocol in MEDLINE (PubMed); and (3) written in English or Japanese. The search period was from January 1, 2013, to December 31, 2020. The outcome of this study was set as the rate of published papers that were consistent with the extracted research protocol and the concordance rate between the primary outcomes in published papers and in protocols. The concordance rate of the primary outcomes was evaluated by checking whether the description in the research protocol matched that in the paper's abstract and main text. Out of the 5597 research protocols registered, only 727 were published (13.0%). The concordance rates of the primary outcomes were 48.7% and 72.6% in the abstract and main text, respectively. This study revealed major discrepancies between the number of research protocols and published papers, and difference of description regarding the primary outcomes in published papers which were already defined in the research protocols. Robot sequential decision-making in the real world is a challenge because it requires the robots to simultaneously reason about the current world state and dynamics, while planning actions to accomplish complex tasks. On the one hand, declarative languages and reasoning algorithms support representing and reasoning with commonsense knowledge. But these algorithms are not good at planning actions toward maximizing cumulative reward over a long, unspecified horizon. On the other hand, probabilistic planning frameworks, such as Markov decision processes (MDPs) and partially observable MDPs (POMDPs), support planning to achieve long-term goals under uncertainty. But they are ill-equipped to represent or reason about knowledge that is not directly related to actions. In this article, we present an algorithm, called iCORPP, to simultaneously estimate the current world state, reason about world dynamics, and construct task-oriented controllers. In this process, robot decision-making problems are decomposed into two interdependent (smaller) subproblems that focus on reasoning to "understand the world" and planning to "achieve the goal" respectively. The developed algorithm has been implemented and evaluated both in simulation and on real robots using everyday service tasks, such as indoor navigation, and dialog management. Results show significant improvements in scalability, efficiency, and adaptiveness, compared to competitive baselines including handcrafted action policies. • This article formally introduces the Integrated Reasoning and Planning (IRP) problem for robots. Machine learning as a service (MLaaS) and MCDM are two distinct concepts that can be combined to create powerful decision-making solutions. Nowadays, the increasing integration of artificial intelligence (AI) technologies in manufacturing processes is raising the need of users to understand and interpret the decision-making processes of complex AI systems. Traditional black-box AI models often lack transparency, making it challenging for users to comprehend the reasoning behind their outputs. In contrast, Explainable Artificial Intelligence (XAI) techniques provide interpretability by revealing the internal mechanisms of AI models, making them more trustworthy and facilitating human-AI collaboration. In order to promote XAI models' dissemination, this paper proposes a matrix-based methodology to design XAI-driven user interfaces in manufacturing contexts. It helps in mapping the users' needs and identifying the "explainability visualization types" that best fits the end users' requirements for the specific context of use. The proposed methodology was applied in the XMANAI European Project (https://ai4manufacturing.eu), aimed at creating a novel AI platform to support XAI-supported decision making in manufacturing plants. Artificial Intelligence (AI) has profound economic influence in manufacturing, but its unmindful integration can also pose societal and environmental risks. This paper provides a quantified overview of manufacturing areas that are highly advanced in AI capability research, such as maintenance. Within the paradigm of industry 5.0, manufacturing systems are seeking for human-centred production, where the operator finds high-level supervision tasks. In this context, low-level decision making should be performed by machines themselves. In this paper, a hybrid prognosis algorithm is developed to automatically inspect the cutting edges of drill-bits and to predict their Remaining Useful Life (RUL) and the associated probability density function. The solution relies on the automatic measurement of flank wear through convolutional filtering and edge detection. Prognosis exploits particle filter, which updates multi-layer perceptron with online data, to adaptively predict drill-bits RUL. The solution reduces the experimental preliminary run-to-failures needed for training standard machine learning algorithms, exploiting them in a real-time adaptive scenario, while predicting tool RUL under untested and variable cutting process operations. Decision analysis is a key aspect in improving slums intervention strategies utilizing a variety of tools to evaluate all relevant information that support decision-making process for dealing with the complexity of slums interventions policies. This paper presents a framework integrating Multi Criterion Decision Analysis (MCDA) with (GIS) based decision support tool to quantitatively assess land suitability for site relocation of an urban slum site utilizing Analytical Hierarchy Process (AHP), which is commonly used for fastest growing decision-analytic techniques in several disciplines for the determination of various aspects weights. Herein Batn Al Baqara region (which is located in south of Cairo) was selected as study area to be relocated as it was considered among the most difficult to deal with, three proposed relocation sites were selected and analyzed using MCDA-GIS Model. Twelve different criteria were utilized to evaluate the degree of suitability of the relocation sites. A five degree of suitability were employed according to the different criteria scores for each site. The results supported that Al Asmarat is the most suitable site for the relocation of slum since it achieved the highest evaluation score (84.92 %) when the model was applied to the relocation sites. • There has been a limited scope of investigation of the contextual factors affecting driver decision-making during narrow passage interactions. • The study found that the likelihood of giving way may alter due to characteristics of the interaction partners, including their vehicle type. • It was also found that factors, external to the direct interaction partners, may affect the likelihood of giving way, such as the presence of vehicles beyond the direct interaction partners. • This paper validates previous communication findings in a UK context. Narrow passage interactions have received increased attention from academics seeking to create behavioural models of the interaction and those looking to define how autonomous vehicles (AVs) should interact with their human counterparts in a composite road system. Despite this increased attention, many factors remain unexplored in the narrow passage literature, with the literature also encompassing few driving culture contexts. To this end, this study employs an explorative survey to identify additional factors that affect driver decision-making during narrow passage interactions, as well as driver perceptions of different communications in a UK context. The study's 243 participants were presented with a range of different narrow passage scenarios and asked to indicate how likely they were to give way/yield to a vehicle approaching the narrow passage from the opposite direction. In addition, they also completed the Multidimensional Driving Style Inventory to identify their driving styles and asked to identify which signals they look for from their interaction partner during narrow passage interactions, as well as the meaning of those signals. The results of the study show that situational characteristics such as the vehicle type being interacted with, being in a rush and being followed by vehicles alter the likelihood of drivers giving way at narrow passages, whilst a person's driving style can also indicate how likely someone is to give way to another vehicle. These results highlight the factors that are considered by drivers, increasing our understanding of the factors that need to be incorporated in driver behaviour models and in AV development. Fuzzy theory is extensively used in managing databases and analyzing data to summarize information and draw meaningful conclusions. This paper utilizes the aggregation operators within the context of the complex q-rung orthopair fuzzy environment by utilizing Yager t-norm and t-conorm operations. Some aggregation operators are applied, namely, complex q-rung orthopair fuzzy Yager weighted geometric operator, complex q-rung orthopair fuzzy Yager ordered weighted geometric operator, complex q-rung orthopair fuzzy Yager weighted averaging operator and complex q-rung orthopair fuzzy Yager ordered weighted averaging operator. Additionally, the notable properties of these operators are proved. These aggregation operators are generated specifically for multi-criteria decision-making. Three-way multi-attribute decision-making (3MADM) integrated with double hierarchy hesitant fuzzy linguistic term set (DHHFLTS) can not only effectively express the uncertainty of language, but also help reduce the risk of wrong decision-making. However, the existing compared methods for DHHFLTSs dismiss the variances in psychological reference points, resulting in mismatches in form and connotation for some linguistic terms. Furthermore, it is difficult or even impossible to obtain an accurate degree of difference using the existing DHHFLTS distance method for these linguistic terms. This directly affects the accuracy of obtaining conditional probabilities results in the three-way decision model. Therefore, this paper introduces the concept of the superior gradus for double hierarchy linguistic term set (DHLTS) and double hierarchy hesitant fuzzy linguistic element (DHHFLE), respectively. Then, some novel compared methods are defined that allow the identification of differences between linguistic variables. Subsequently, based on the superior gradus, a novel distance measurement is designed with a risk parameters. Through the adjustment of risk parameters, this method can respectively obtain optimistic and pessimistic results. Also, the relative loss functions designed for DHHFLTSs aim at getting more objective decision-making results. Finally, the paper proposes a novel 3MADM method under the double hierarchy hesitant fuzzy linguistic information system (DHHFLIS) and applies it to service assessment. Health inequalities are a perennial concern for policymakers and in service delivery to ensure fair and equitable access and outcomes. As health inequalities are socially influenced by employment, income, and education, this impacts healthcare services among socio-economically disadvantaged groups, making it a pertinent area for investigation in seeking to promote equitable access. Researchers widely acknowledge that health equity is a multi-faceted problem requiring approaches to understand the complexity and interconnections in hospital planning as a precursor to healthcare delivery. Operations research offers the potential to develop analytical models and frameworks to aid in complex decision-making that has both a strategic and operational function in problem-solving. This paper develops a simulation-based modelling framework (SimulEQUITY) to model the complexities in addressing health inequalities at a hospital level. The model encompasses an entire hospital operation (including inpatient, outpatient, and emergency department services) using the discrete-event simulation method to simulate the behaviour and performance of real-world systems, processes, or organisations. The paper makes a sustained contribution to knowledge by challenging the existing population-level planning approaches in healthcare that often overlook individual patient needs, especially within disadvantaged groups. By holistically modelling an entire hospital, socio-economic variations in patients' pathways are developed by incorporating individual patient attributes and variables. This innovative framework facilitates the exploration of diverse scenarios, from processes to resources and environmental factors, enabling key decision-makers to evaluate what intervention strategies to adopt as well as the likely scenarios for future patterns of healthcare inequality. Pumped storage technology plays a crucial role in achieving balance in power systems and enhancing the stability of energy systems. Scientific planning can help optimize the operation of power systems, promote the development of renewable energy, and conserve energy. This paper addresses the capacity planning problem of pumped storage stations in hybrid operation systems considering wind power uncertainty. A comprehensive decision-making method is proposed, based on the Delphi method, interval intuitionistic fuzzy theory, grey relational theory, entropy weight method, and prospect theory. This method comprehensively evaluates decision alternatives by considering various factors such as the uncertainty of qualitative indicators, the interrelationships between indicators, and the impacts of different risk environments. The test system in this paper is conducted on a hybrid wind-thermal-pump storage output model based on the IEEE 30-bus system. The optimal capacity planning scheme determined by the proposed method is 190 MW when decision-makers are risk-neutral or risk-averse, and 200 MW when they are risk-appetite. Subsequently, the case study verifies the impact of different load levels and proportions of wind power access on the optimal decision-making scheme, and compares it with decision-making method such as principal component analysis, technique for order preference by similarity to an ideal solution, and a combined method of Pythagorean fuzzy theory and cumulative prospect theory, validating feasibility and effectiveness. The dynamic and complex environment affects the operational efficiency of automated guided vehicles (AGVs) at automated container terminals, in which artificial intelligent approaches are applied to address optimization problems in dynamic systems. This paper proposes a digital twin-based decision support approach to improve the efficiency of AGV scheduling service. Accordingly, the factors that affect AGV scheduling performance, including conflicts, failures, and battery constraints, are discussed first. Then, the framework and main steps of the proposed approach are described. The physical operation space is mapped into the virtual space, and both spaces keep synchronized to support the verification of solutions. A mathematical programming model and Q-learning algorithm are used to generate the AGV scheduling plan considering battery charging. Numerical experiments are conducted to demonstrate the effectiveness of the proposed approach. Comparisons of the digital twin-based approach, genetic algorithm (GA), and particle swarm optimization (PSO) are also made with different scale experiments. It appears that the proposed digital twin-based approach is superior to GA and PSO when solving small- and large-scale cases. A sensitivity analysis is performed concerning the battery utilization rate, task, and AGV number. In the context of structural integrity management (SIM), effective utilization of real-time structural health monitoring (SHM) information is crucial for minimizing the expected value of life-cycle costs. To enhance the benefits of real-time SHM information for SIM, this paper introduces a framework aimed at optimizing the utilization of real-time SHM information from a life-cycle perspective, grounded in Bayesian posterior decision analysis. Although a substantial body of exploratory, conceptual, and experimental studies exists, only 9.457% studies have incorporated sensitivity analyses to assess the robustness of MCDM methods. An exhaustive scientific exploration of sensitivity analysis within the scope of MCDM is thus lacking. This research aims to address this gap through Bibliometric Analysis while examining 1374 articles published between January 2000 and March 2023 from the Scopus database. Using RStudio (Biblioshiny), CiteSpace, and VOSviewer software, the study constructs a visual representation of the most prolific countries, institutions, and authors. Impressively, China takes the lead in article publications, while India excels in international collaboration. "An extended TODIM multi-criteria group decision-making method for green supplier selection in an interval type-2 fuzzy environment," featured in the Journal of Environmental Management, emerges as the most cited paper with a total citation of 455. The study also identifies the top three most cited journals, namely "Journal of Cleaner Production," "Expert Systems With Applications," and "Computers and Industrial Engineering." "North China Electric Power University" is the leading institute with the highest research outputs. "Pamučar D" is the most cited author, with 2594 citations and 39 articles, followed by "Kahraman C" and "Zavadskas EK. Concerns about child supervision are present in a large proportion of the circumstances responded to by North American child protection systems. This paper examines different perspectives on low-supervision, from parental-deficit to critical-ecological formulations, to address two questions that are central to assessing reports: why low-supervision is deemed to be harmful, and why low-supervision events occur The implications of this knowledge for child protection system responses is explored, and the conceptualization and application of supervisory neglect as a maltreatment category is critically questioned in order to tease apart what this label may represent in practice. The paper considers how thinking could be reframed to make supervisory neglect a more discrete classification which informs subsequent action, including centering the environmental hazard in supervisory neglect formulations and giving primacy to the impact on the child rather than to parent behavior. The role of normative thinking in decision-making and the risk of perpetuating social inequalities and oppressive power is also considered. More research is required to examine responses and outcomes under current systems of practice, and how child protection workers and systems reflexively analyze reports. Timely recognition of dying is important for high quality end-of-life care however, little is known about how clinicians recognise dying. Late recognition is common and can lead to futile treatment that can prolong or increase suffering and prevent a change in the focus of care. To explore how clinicians caring for dying people recognise that they are in the last days or hours of life, as well as the factors that influence the recognition of dying. A systematically constructed integrative review of the literature. Medline, Scopus, Cumulative Index to Nursing and Allied Health Literature, PsycInfo and Allied and Complementary Medicine were searched in July 2022. Papers were included if they were original research, discussed how clinicians recognise dying, available in English language and published in 2012 or later. A constant comparison approach was applied to the analysis and synthesis of the literature. 24 papers met the inclusion criteria. There were 3 main categories identified: 'Clues and signals' refers to prompts and signs that lead a clinician to believe a person is dying, incorporating the sub-categories 'knowing the patient over time', and 'intuition and experience'. 'Recognition by others' is where clinicians come to recognise someone is dying through others. This can be through a change in the context of care such as a tool or care plan or by communication with the team. 'Culture, system and practice' refers to the cultural beliefs of a setting that influences awareness of dying and denial of death as a possibility and avoidance of naming death and dying directly. System and practice of the setting also impact on recognition of dying. This involves work pace and intensity, shift systems and timing of senior reviews of patients. Uncertainty and its impact on recognition of dying are evident throughout the findings of this review. The seeking of certainty and the absence of the possibility of dying contributes to late recognition of dying. Recognition of dying is a complex process that occurs over time, involving a combination of intuition and gathering of information, that is influenced by contextual factors. A culture where dying is not openly acknowledged or even named explicitly contributes to late recognition of dying. A shared language and consistent terminology for explicitly naming dying are needed. Partial data is a common challenge in many applied problems, where we can measure only the part of the solution. This paper considers the poroelasticity problem in fractured media, where only partial measurements of fracture pressures are available. The poroelasticity models have applications in many engineering and scientific fields, such as geomechanics, hydrology, and reservoir simulation. This paper aims to develop a Bayesian decision making approach using partial data and consider its application to the poroelasticity problem in fractured media. The methodology of the proposed approach combines Proper Orthogonal Decomposition, Discrete Empirical Interpolation Method, Bayesian Inversion Approach, and Bayesian Decision Theory. It allows us to compute posterior probabilities and decide according to the optimal decision rule based on the partial data. Moreover, we apply partially explicit temporal discretization to solve forward problems efficiently. For testing the proposed approach, we consider a two-dimensional model problem. We simulate the cases when we need to make a single decision about the reservoir or decisions about the elements of the set of reservoirs. Extensive research exists on the potential impacts of foresight; however, a comprehensive understanding of the factors that lead to foresight impact, particularly in influencing senior management decisions, is relatively sparse. This study addresses this by reporting on a Delphi and expert panel involving eight senior Canadian government foresight program leaders. These leaders were asked to help identify and then rate a list of factors that they felt resulted in their foresight projects impacting senior management decisions. Results suggested that factors such as foresight methodology, while leading to good foresight, do not necessarily result in senior decision-maker impact. Instead, criteria defined in this paper as the "consultants' toolkit," such as understanding the senior decision maker's pain points and foresight managers having a strong understanding of the organization's inner workings, play a crucial role. Using McMillan and Chavis' (1986) four-part Psychological Sense of Community (PSOC) framework to frame data collection and analysis, we find that residents' sense of community is shaped by an ongoing negotiation of personal and collective needs. Building community takes time and requires opportunities for voices to be heard (and shape change), along with ongoing personal growth – especially related to substance use recovery. Our findings offer insights for future PSH settings for young people – as well as other residential and community settings which aim to support young people. Combined heat and power is an inevitable trend in the development of waste-to-power industry. Many waste incineration power generation projects that have already put into operation in China are waiting for transition and upgrading to combined heat and power projects. From a growth option perspective, this paper considers the irreversible process and uncertainty in economic benefits, introduces carbon emission trading mechanism and develops the growth option theory to design the expansion decision making model of waste-to-energy combined heat and power projects, so as to obtain the project value and find the optimal expansion timing. In this paper, a case study is carried out on the expansion decision making of a waste-to-energy combined heat and power project in Shandong Province in China. And two scenarios with specific and flexible expansion times are developed from European and American options separately, as European options require investors to expand at a certain time but American options not. The results indicate that 1) real option approach successfully improves the project value through considering uncertainty, and American option can achieve the optimal expansion time, 2) under the carbon emission trading mechanism, the carbon price affects the expansion index, which has a positive effect on the project value, 3) the linear nature of the income and cost expansion index can help investors make judgments on expansion investments. Environmental issues drive the manufacturer to strive for green technology innovation. The manufacturer cannot strictly control all the activities in the production process, which may cause yield uncertainty. However, the existing studies that consider uncertainty factors usually assume that yield is deterministic. This paper constructs a green supply chain considering yield uncertainty and corporate social responsibility by a manufacturer and a retailer under different market power structures. We examine that yield uncertainty negatively affects the optimal decision-making strategies under four different power structures, especially in the centralized model. The retailer who adopts corporate social responsibility can alleviate the negative effects of yield uncertainty to a certain extent. Meanwhile, it is interesting that the manufacturer is not maximizing profits in the market dominated by himself and is subject to interference from yield uncertainty and corporate social responsibility. When the yield uncertainty is relatively small, the manufacturer's profit is the largest in the retailer-dominated market structure. However, when the yield uncertainty is significant, the revenue for the manufacturer is the largest in the manufacturer-dominated market. Regardless of how the yield uncertainty changes, the retailer's profit is always the largest in the retailer-led model. To alleviate the manufacturer's green costs, the retailer will share part of their revenue with the manufacturer under the Nash model. The Nash-revenue-sharing contract always benefits the manufacturer but hurts the profits of the retailer with a higher sharing coefficient. An in-depth understanding of uncertainty is the first step to making effective decisions under uncertainty. Machine/deep learning (ML/DL) has been hugely leveraged to solve complex problems involved with processing high-dimensional data. However, reasoning and quantifying different uncertainties to achieve effective decision-making have been much less explored in ML/DL than in other Artificial Intelligence (AI) domains. In particular, belief/evidence theories have been studied in Knowledge representation and reasoning (KRR) since the 1960s to reason and measure uncertainties to enhance decision-making effectiveness. Based on our in-depth literature review, only a few studies have leveraged mature uncertainty research in belief/evidence theories in ML/DL to tackle complex problems under different types of uncertainty. Our present survey paper discusses major belief theories and their core ideas dealing with uncertainty causes and types and quantifying them, along with the discussions of their applicability in ML/DL. Particularly, we discuss three main approaches leveraging belief theories in Deep Neural Networks (DNNs), including Evidential DNNs, Fuzzy DNNs, and Rough DNNs, in terms of their uncertainty causes, types, and quantification methods along with their applicability in diverse problem domains. Through an in-depth understanding of the extensive survey on this topic, we discuss insights, lessons learned, limitations of the current state-of-the-art bridging belief theories and ML/DL, and future research directions. The impact between time series may differ at different frequencies and time periods, and certain external events may cause sharp fluctuations in new financial markets. It is essential to conduct additional analyses on the extreme relationships in the time-frequency domain. However, extreme causal relationships and time-varying characteristics under various shocks usually cannot be detected simultaneously. Therefore, we reveal the extreme impacts and dynamic changes in global economic conditions on renewable energy by extending a fresh extreme wavelet-based method. Our results reveal significant extreme asymmetric impacts of economic conditions on renewable energy. Moreover, this effect was reinforced by extreme events such as the outbreak of the global financial crisis and the Russia–Ukraine conflict. Diverse citizens need to be involved in net zero transitions to ensure policy interventions do not entrench inequalities for people from minoritised or disenfranchised groups and ensure public engagement with rapid social changes. This paper illustrates the importance of designing enjoyable engagement activities aimed at segmented citizen and community groups, to ensure a broad cross-section of society can participate in environmental debate and policymaking. We analysed an evaluation sample of 857 people, representing 10.3% of the 8302 people directly engaged with the ClairCity project from six European countries. Women were under-represented in our activities, and younger participants preferred non-traditional forms of engagement like online games. Across all activities, multiple regression analyses found statistically significant relationships between younger age groups and enjoyment, and a positive correlation between enjoyment and understanding of air quality. Behaviour change intention was also significantly positively correlated to understanding, with 74% of participants indicating they would make a behaviour change to improve air quality. While climate change and air pollution are serious issues, public engagement to raise awareness and improve participation in policymaking does not have to be. To fully realise citizen-led emissions reduction, policymakers need to co-create engagement activities which are enjoyable, inclusive, and attractive to diverse citizens representing regional demographics. Ultimately, the more enjoyable and relevant the engagement activities, the more understanding people gain about the issues, and are therefore more likely to make a change to individual or community behaviours to reduce air pollution and carbon emissions and improve public and environmental health. Recently, the increasing number of stroke survivors has created a greater demand for rehabilitation services. How to predict rehabilitation demands is important for policy makers in various countries. The demand prediction is essentially a multi-attribute decision-making problem. The diverse forms of information or data are often neglected or simplified in previous studies of decision-making problems. In this paper, heterogeneous multi-attributes including crisp numbers, interval numbers, and linguistic variables are defined to represent decision-relevant information concerning the patient's condition in cases when applied to real-life scenarios. Moreover, a deviation minimization optimization model combining CRITIC method and H2TLWMSM operator is proposed to assign the attribute weights with dual information. The WHMACBR system can be used to predict stroke rehabilitation demands for making the diagnosis and treatment decisions. The proposed decision-making system based on the CBR approach simulates the operations of human memory and reasoning, thus assisting physicians in addressing the ever-increasing demand for rehabilitation services of stroke survivors. Finally, the effectiveness and applicability of the case retrieval process of the presented CBR model are demonstrated through a stroke rehabilitation case study (top 3 cases ranked by similarity to the target case are C 6 , C 2 , and C 3) and comparison analysis with relevant existing CBR models. While uncertainty quantification (UQ) has served a prominent role in ensuring the safety of dynamical engineering systems, the lack of an integrated approach to handle the aleatory nature of ground motion records, a.k.a., record-to-record (RTR) variability, remains a bottleneck in seismic design. This paper presents a novel approach with two key features. First, on the multi-criteria decision-making (MCDM) front, a general-purpose collective decision support system is introduced by integrating Monte Carlo simulation, automated machine learning (AutoML), and a hybrid fuzzy-outranking MCDM technique. This allows for robust uncertainty capture at a group level without compromising computational efficiency—a departure from the traditional trade-off between MCDM competency in uncertainty handling and computational burden. Second, from an Earthquake Engineering perspective, the established AutoML-based community-level MCDM approach is combined with an efficient metamodel-aided reliability-based design optimization technique and a novel probabilistic-fuzzy seismic-design safety index. Conflicting criteria are classified into structural performance, design safety, and construction cost metrics. The results indicate that the developed intelligent seismic design paradigm properly captures uncertainties rooted in the RTR variability, input data, criterion weighting, and decision-makers' preferences from a community-level standpoint. It also offers acceptable error metrics during the ranking procedure in a user-friendly environment, at a significantly reduced computational expenditure. Moreover, it can be concluded that there is no imperative need for developing complex decision tools for robust-to-uncertainty seismic design. In this paper, a non-zero-sum game model based on a multi-objective evaluation model was adopted to solve the dynamic task allocation problem of underwater multiple Autonomous Underwater Vehicle (multi-AUV). By introducing a functional coordination mechanism, the high degree of coordination in practical confrontation scenarios was reflected, and the autonomous decision-making and task allocation process of multiple AUVs were clarified. Secondly, a multi-objective evaluation model including survival value, strike income, and ammunition loss was constructed, and weighted processing was performed on the multiple objectives using the Analytic Hierarchy Process (AHP) method, obtaining the benefits of each non-zero-sum strategy in dynamic games. In addition, a particle swarm optimization (PSO) algorithm that combines the theory of good point sets theory (G) and speed control factors (S) for improvement, called GSPSO, was used to find the optimal strategy in the game and allocate tasks. Finally, simulation analysis showed that the collaborative system with functional coordination mechanisms significantly improved the combat capabilities of underwater multiple AUVs. The multi-objective evaluation model combined with AHP can correctly and comprehensively evaluate the advantages and disadvantages of each strategy and correctly respond to changing confrontation tasks and decision preferences. Digital nomads are engaged in a complex quest to select their next destination. In this context, user-generated content (UGC) on social media is a pivotal source to glean insights into digital nomads' destination choices. Accordingly, this study investigates the principal topics that influence digital nomad's destination choice. To this end, data-mining techniques are applied to analyze user-generated content (UGC) from the social platform X (former Twitter). Based on the results, we identify a total of 11 topics associated with digital nomads' location preferences that can be grouped into 3 clusters (positive, negative, and neutral). Specifically, we find six positive topics (employment, retirement, gastronomy, co-working, work motivation, culture), one neutral topic (customer service), and four negative topics (connectivity, work hours, visa issues, loneliness). The results suggest that job flexibility, the attraction of travel, and cultural immersion emerge as positive factors influencing destination choice. By contrast, connectivity concerns, visa management, feelings of isolation, and emotional adjustments stand out as considerable impediments for digital nomads. We spotlight the long-term pursuit of quality of life and technological connectivity as the main drivers of digital nomads in their destination choice. In the Big Data era, context-aware mobile recommender systems are crucial in assisting citizens and tourists in making informed decisions, providing a suitable way for users to find the relevant data. These systems should be proactive, able to detect the ideal time and location to provide recommendations for a specific item or activity. To accomplish this, push-based recommender systems can be employed, utilizing context rules to determine when a recommendation should be initiated. However, there is very limited reported experience in defining and implementing such systems and a complete generic solution that adapts flexibly to the preferences of users and protects their privacy is still missing. In this paper, we present a novel approach where appropriate types of recommendations are provided automatically, without the need for user input. Our proposal allows users to easily activate, deactivate, customize, and create rules for improved personalization. Additionally, the module that, based on the context, decides the types of recommendations required is executed on the user's mobile device, reducing wireless communication and safeguarding the user's privacy, as context data are evaluated locally. To illustrate the approach, we have developed R-Rules, a prototype for Android devices focused on the triggering of recommendation rules, which provides a friendly user interface that facilitates user personalization. Intelligent computing is an independent algorithm system that imitates the laws and principles of nature's biological chain to design and solve practical problems in modern society, it can help people better handle some big data problems through artificial intelligence technology and different cognitive characteristics. Especially, when dealing with group decision problems, it is often considered as human behavior based on cognitive computing. The q-rung orthopair fuzzy set (q-ROFS) is not only a generalization of Pythagorean fuzzy set (PFS), but also can deal with the decision problem of multi-source information in a wider area. In this paper, we first give the detailed explanations of the relationship between the q-ROFS and q-rung orthopair fuzzy number (q-ROFN)by an example, and itis pointed out that there are some defects in the existing two ranking methods for the Pythagorean fuzzy numbers (PFNs) and intuitionistic fuzzy numbers (IFNs) through counterexamples, and then all q-ROFNs are mapped into the unit triangle of the first quadrant through q-compression mapping, and the concept of distance factor for q-ROFNs is proposed by Euclidean distance between each q-ROFN and the maximum element (1,0).Secondly, a novel inverse score function for q-ROFNs are put forward by the distance factor and hesitancy degree, and the monotonicity of the inverse score function are discussed. Finally, a new ranking criterion of q-ROFNs is given by the new score formula, and then the rationality of the ranking criterion is proved, and through the method of solving the conditional extreme value of multivariate function (Lagrange multiplier method), there is indeed an extreme value point (corresponding to the maximum q-ROFN) on υ = μ. Besides, a q-rung orthopair fuzzy decision-making method for multi-source information is given by the new ranking criterion and aggregation operations, and the comparison of examples shows that the inverse score function and decision-making method do have many advantages in the q-ROFN environment. On the basis of studying the structural mechanic characteristics of the tunnel under the influence of soft rock creep, the VlseKriterijumska Optimizacija I Kompromisno Resenje (VIKOR) model based on Analytic Hierarchy Process (AHP) and Entropy Weight Method (EWM) to determine subjective and objective weights, and game theory (GT) to obtain comprehensive weights was established. Additionally, the differential evolution-grey wolf optimization (DE-GWO) improved extreme learning machine (ELM) model was also constructed. By comparing the safety evaluation results of the two models on typical monitoring sections of soft rock tunnel structure, it is demonstrated that the proposed knowledge-based decision-making and data-driven models effectively and accurately evaluated the long-term safety of typical monitoring sections. Ulteriorly, to address the issue of structure safety evaluation caused by the inability to comprehensively monitor the entire tunnel (missing monitoring data), the DE-GWO improved ELM model was further adopted, and the structure safety status of the entire tunnel was precisely deduced. In this paper we investigate the notion of legibility in sequential decision tasks under uncertainty. Previous works that extend legibility to scenarios beyond robot motion either focus on deterministic settings or are computationally too expensive. Our proposed approach, dubbed PoLMDP, is able to handle uncertainty while remaining computationally tractable. We establish the advantages of our approach against state-of-the-art approaches in several scenarios of varying complexity. We also showcase the use of our legible policies as demonstrations in machine teaching scenarios, establishing their superiority in teaching new behaviours against the commonly used demonstrations based on the optimal policy. Finally, we assess the legibility of our computed policies through a user study, where people are asked to infer the goal of a mobile robot following a legible policy by observing its actions. It is demonstrated that higher-order patterns beyond pairwise relations can significantly enhance the learning capability of existing graph-based models, and simplex is one of the primary form for graphically representing higher-order patterns. Predicting unknown (disappeared) simplices in real-world complex networks can provide us with deeper insights, thereby assisting us in making better decisions. Nevertheless, previous efforts to predict simplices suffer from two issues: (i) they mainly focus on 2- or 3-simplices, and there are few models available for predicting simplices of arbitrary orders, and (ii) they lack the ability to analyze and learn the features of simplices from the perspective of dynamics. In this paper, we present a Higher-order Neurodynamical Equation for Simplex Prediction of arbitrary order (HNESP), which is a framework that combines neural networks and neurodynamics. Specifically, HNESP simulates the dynamical coupling process of nodes in simplicial complexes through different relations (i.e., strong pairwise relation, weak pairwise relation, and simplex) to learn node-level representations, while explaining the learning mechanism of neural networks from neurodynamics. To enrich the higher-order information contained in simplices, we exploit the entropy and normalized multivariate mutual information of different sub-structures of simplices to acquire simplex-level representations. Furthermore, simplex-level representations and multi-layer perceptron are used to quantify the existence probability of simplices. The effectiveness of HNESP is demonstrated by extensive simulations on seven higher-order benchmarks. Experimental results show that HNESP improves the AUC values of the state-of-the-art baselines by an average of 8.32%. This paper addresses the design of a decision making and motion planning system for lane change maneuvers considering energy efficiency. A novel decision making algorithm is proposed to check the desirability of performing the lane change. The algorithm is based on a utility function that consists of different performance criteria, including energy consumption. The execution of the decided maneuver involves a lower-level motion planning and control system for the longitudinal and lateral directions. For the longitudinal direction, an energy-efficient Model Predictive Controller (MPC) is designed, which considers the safety boundaries as well as other constraints, such as comfort, traffic laws, and physical limitations of the system. For the lateral direction, the desired trajectory is planned based on a parameterized sigmoid function. The lateral tracking is then realized by a PID controller. Finally, to evaluate the performance of the designed algorithms, a fuel consumption map of an internal combustion engine (ICE) is approximated by a second-order multivariate polynomial. Simulation results demonstrate the capability of the proposed algorithm to safely perform the lane change maneuver in different scenarios and for two vehicle models, including a simplified vehicle dynamic model and a high-fidelity IPG CarMaker model. The framework incorporates Business Impact Analysis (BIA) to determine essential products, a physical asset risk assessment matrix (PARAM) to assess critical assets based on likelihood and impact, and a mathematical model to estimate asset continuity parameters. The framework is applied to a petrochemical company in a case study, offering a guide for estimating the probability and impact of physical asset failure while accounting for inherent uncertainties. By adopting this framework, companies can efficiently manage their physical assets, prioritize continuity plans, and address resource constraints and uncertainties. This paper addresses various issues in the literature concerning adversarial attack detection in Vehicular Ad-hoc Networks (VANETs). These issues include the failure to consider both normal and adversarial attack perspectives simultaneously in Machine Learning (ML) model development, the lack of diversity preprocessing techniques for VANETs communication datasets, the inadequate selection guidelines for real-time adversarial attack detection models, and the limited emphasis on explainability in adversarial attack detection. In this study, we propose an original fuzzy decision-making framework that incorporates multiple fusion standpoints. Our framework aims to evaluate multi-ML models for real-time adversarial attack detection in VANETs, focusing on three stages. The first stage involves identifying and preprocessing Dedicated Short-Range Communication (DSRC) data using standard and fusion preprocessing approaches. Two communication scenarios, normal and jammed, are considered, resulting in two DSRC datasets. In the second stage, we develop multi-ML models based on the DSRC datasets using standard preprocessing and feature fusion preprocessing for dataset-1 and dataset-2, respectively. The third stage evaluates the multi-ML models using a fuzzy decision-making approach based on the Fuzzy Decision by Opinion Score Method (FDOSM) and an adversarial attack decision fusion matrix. The External Fusion Decision (EFD) settings of the FDOSM address individual ranking variance, provide a unique rank and select the best model. Experimental results demonstrate that the K-Nearest Neighbors Algorithm (kNN) model achieves the highest explain score of 0.2048 in dataset-1 using standard preprocessing, while the Random Forest (RF) model applied to dataset-2 using fusion preprocessing emerges as the most robust and golden model against adversarial attacks, with a score of 0.1819. This finding suggests that the fusion preprocessing approach using Principal Component Analysis (PCA) is more suitable for addressing normal and adversarial attack perspectives. Furthermore, our fuzzy framework undergoes evaluation in terms of systematic rank, sensitivity analysis, explainability analysis, and comparison analysis. Overall, this framework provides valuable insights for researchers and practitioners in VANETs, informing the execution, selection, and interpretation of multi-ML models to tackle adversarial attack detection problems effectively.
