The article discusses the role of the legal framework in Denmark in the development of Danish museums and identifies a shift in the administration through a new museum act implemented in 2002 as a turning point through the establishment of an agency under the Ministry of Culture. At the same time museology was strengthened at the universities and since then research, education and museum practices have been focusing on improving the role of museums for visitors and for society.

Women in Lebanon often suffer from widespread discrimination that seems to inhibit their full participation in society. Discrimination manifests itself, for example, in the lack of full human rights and in scant provisions for educational opportunities. Other instances include under-representation in the political spheres and in decision-making positions, unequal access to health services, as well as subjugation to a patriarchal system of living. Many women feel that they are prohibited from freely expressing their ideas and their wishes, and fear being alienated from the social milieu in which they live. Moreover, even into the twenty first century, incidents of honor crimes still echo in the far outskirts of the country. While Lebanon is witnessing breakthroughs in many social, technological, economic, and other civic spheres, much remains to be done, when it comes to women.

The Science and Technology Agency of the Japanese Government conducted a Delphi method forecast survey from June 1970 to April 1971 on Japan's science and technology. Some 4000 researchers and technical experts took part. The results showed that: Japan is likely to experience the next period of technological innovation during the later 1980s; Japanese experts tend to be more optimistic than their lay counterparts; subjects with a strong social need, when connected with public sectors of the economy, are likely to experience earlier technological achievement; and the Japanese have an unusually strong interest in environmental science and technology.

The following two articles focus on the polluted streams and rivers that have flowed with the refuse of our industrial and urban growth. The author discusses factors which may affect spectrum sharing towards the turn of the century, including technological developments, spectrum usage, and the national and international regulatory situation. It is suggested that to make effective and efficient use of the spectrum, all three types of spectrum sharing (space, frequency and time) be utilized when practical. Also, consideration should be given to implementing the various sharing methods and case-by-case sharing procedures identified here. >
