The requirements for uniqueness of the calculated jump conditions across embedded shock waves are investigated for type-dependent difference systems used in transonic flow studies. A mathematical analysis shows that sufficient conditions are (1) the equations should be differenced in conservative form and (2) a special difference operator should be used when switching from a hyperbolic to an elliptic operator. The latter results in a consistency condition on the integral equations, rather than the differential, at these points. Calculated jump conditions for several embedded and detached shock waves are analyzed in the physical and hodograph planes. Comparisons are made with previous results, a time-dependent calculation, and data.

The continuous-time random walk of Montroll and Weiss has a complete separation of time (how long a walker will remain at a site) and space (how far a walker will jump when it leaves a site). The time part is completely described by a pausing time distributionψ(t). This paper relates the asymptotic time behavior of the probability of being at sitel at timet to the asymptotic behavior ofψ(t). Two classes of behavior are discussed in detail. The first is the familiar Gaussian diffusion packet which occurs, in general, when at least the first two moments ofψ(t) exist; the other occurs whenψ(t) falls off so slowly that all of its moments are infinite. Other types of possible behavior are mentioned. The relationship of this work to solutions of a generalized master equation and to transient photocurrents in certain amorphous semiconductors and organic materials is discussed.

Measurements of traveltimes and traveltime gradients for PKP phases recorded at the Warramunga seismic array from distances between 113° and 176° provide evidence for a two-layer transition zone in the earth's core. The basic data consist of paper recordings played out at 40 mm/sec from analog magnetic tape with amplitude gain control and narrow bandpass filters. Measured values of dTdΔ are perturbed by structure beneath the array and it is necessary to correct for this effect by an empirical approach. On the basis of the dTdΔ values and traveltimes, two precursor branches to PKPDF for Δ 145°. The corrected dTdΔ values of all phases are smoothed and used to derive a velocity model for the core. The preferred model includes two velocity discontinuities of less than 0.1 km/sec each in the core transition zone to generate the two additional PKP branches. Together with the velocity jump at the outer-inner core boundary, these discontinuities define two layers each a few hundred kilometers thick. It is argued that recent proposals concerning inhomogeneities at the base of the mantle or within the transition zone as the source of PKP precursors do not agree with our observations nor those of other researchers. Inhomogeneities are not excluded but are considered a secondary effect for PKP phases, the primary effect being due to two discontinuous velocity increases in the transition zone.

By comparing diffusion coefficientsD of bivalent cations Ba2+, Ca2+, Sr2+ in NaCl crystals it was shown that in the temperature range above 550 °CD (Ba2+)>D (Sr2+)>D (Ca2+) is valid. Temperature dependences of jump frequenciesw2 of these cations are described byw2 (Ba2+)=(2·15±0·55) × 1012 × exp {−(0·817±0.007)/kT};w2 (Sr2+)=(2·9±1·1) × 1012 × exp {−(0·84±0.02)/kT} andw2 (Ca2+)=(5·5±6·5) × 1010 × exp {−(0·51±0·07)/kT}. It was demonstrated that in NaCl crystals the activation enthalpy and the preexponential factor of the jump frequencyw2 increase with increasing ionic radius and mass of the bivalent alkaline earth cation.

Causes and effects of nonlinearity in structures are surveyed and illustrated by means of examples. Geometrical and material nonlinearities, and nonlinearities due to bearings, friction, clearance, stops, etc., are described. Nonlinearity in stiffness is contrasted with nonlinearity in damping. Dynamic effects of nonlinearity, including jump phenomena, subharmonic resonance, and nonlinear coupling between modes, are illustrated. A discussion of criteria for smallness of motion to justify linearized treatment of nonlinear systems is given. Illustrative examples including vibration of flat plates, vibration of antenna mounts, and earthquake response of multi‐story buildings are described. A structural earthquake isolation system utilizing friction‐controlled foundation pads is presented. Analytical and numerical techniques for predicting the statistical response of the system are demonstrated. [Supported by NSF Grant GI‐34945. ]

The continuum mechanics of two-phase systems involving surface tension and surface properties is discussed. The integral forms of the balance laws are given for the following quantities: mass, linear momentum, angular momentum, total energy and entropy. Starting from these integral balance laws, the jump conditions and the entropy source at the interface are derived.

By using the Frobenius' method, the authors obtain the virtually exact instability boundary of the externally damped viscoelastic Hauger system. The interaction between the two types of damping, yields results paradoxical to those obtained with each type of damping considered separately. An optimal stability envelope, which for a prescribed value of internal damping and any external damping gives the highest attainable critical load, is obtained. The addition of external damping for a prescribed internal damping, raises the critical load at best to the above optimal value; further addition of external damping diminishes the critical load. The Ziegler's jump or pseudo-destabilization due to infinitesimal internal damping, is shown to vanish with the introduction of external damping. For large external damping, the Ziegler's jump approaches a negative asymptotic value. These paradoxical results provide a deeper insight into the complex interaction between the internal and external damping in polygenic systems.

The interface problem is considered for the Poisson equation in two independent variables, The interface curves, along which jump conditions are prescribed, are allowed to intersect, The second derivatives of solutions of the interface problem are shown to lie in a certain "twisted" Soboiev space. The solution operator is shown to be a closed, densely defined, operator in L2 whose domain can be determined exactly

This paper attempts to construct a preliminary shear velocity model compatible with both travel times and wave forms of observed seismograms. Transversely polarized long-range seismic measurement and World-Wide Standard Seismograph Network observations are used in this study. Vertical secondary wave signatures are demonstrated to be inadequate in identifying triplications because of contamination by PL coupled shear waves and other P-SV interactions. Well-located west coast earthquakes, modeled as shear dislocations, are used as sources. The observed SH travel times are considerably slower than the Jeffreys-Bullen values out to 30°. Select profiles of observed wave forms in conjunction with the travel times provide the data for model determinations by fitting the observed wave forms with synthetics. Synthetics are computed for a number of current models as preliminary attempts at fitting the data. Models containing large sharp transitions predict strong second arrivals beyond 30°. Models containing low-velocity zones between 400 and 700 km predict complicated wave shapes between 20° and 25°. None of the above features are apparent in observed SH wave forms. The final model is relatively smooth and exhibits the same characteristics as the HWB P model (Wiggins and Helmberger, 1973), except that the percentage velocity jump is much less at 400 km and slightly larger at 500 km. The 600-km transition is subdued similar to that of the P model.

The results of an experimental investigation into the laws governing the propagation of a jet of viscous liquid in a medium incorporating a density jump are studied for a Reynolds number range of 25 ≤ R ≤ 20·103. In addition to jets normal to the jump surface (vertical jets), horizontal jets travelling along the interface between the heavy and light liquids (jump surface) are examined. Photographs are presented, together with dynamic pressure measurements, illustrating properties of the jets studied which are unusual for a uniform medium: the extinction of turbulence, the existence of a limiting jet length, anisotropy of the jet, etc. An approximate explanation (within the framework of boundary-layer theory) is given for the effects in question.

If the (010) face of salol grows from the melt in a 4 mm diameter glass tube, the growth rate continues to decrease progressively over a period of many weeks. As far as can be seen the fall in rate is virtually continuous at least down to a point where it is less than one molecular layer per second. Furthermore if ΔT is varied over short consecutive periods of time the rate appears to approximate to the expression K1 exp (-K2/ΔT); but if the operation is repeated from time to time, it is found that K1 and K2 gradually change in value, thus giving rise to the overall long term fall in rate referred to above. The above expression is usually assumed to represent growth by surface nucleation: and such a process can more or less by definition only apply to a perfect crystal. It is not therefore clear how the overall growth rate can continue to fall with time if the crystal is already perfect. What is however perhaps even more important is the observation that the fall in rate was virtually continuous. If “surface nucleation” really controls the lowest rate, then any other mechanism of growth (such as spiral growth) would be expected to result in a large discontinuous jump in rate above the surface nucleation rate: and no such gap was observed.

The minimum variance estimator algorithm is derived for a class of linear continuous systems modulated by a multivalued jump Markov process. The approach adopted in this paper is as follows. First, we express the jump Markov process in terms of its initial value, the jump times and the values taken by the jump process after the jump, and then we apply the Bayes' rule and the general likelihood-ratio formula to obtain the a posteriori probability distribution of the jump process. The minimum variance estimate is given in terms of the a posteriori probability distribution of the jump process and the Kalman-filter estimates corresponding to the admissible values of the jump process. Simulation studies are also carried out to illustrate the behavior of the optimal estimator presented here.

The D.C.-conductivity, absorption current and non-Ohmic behaviour of nylon 66 were examined as a function of the temperature. The existence of three distinct temperature ranges was observed in conduction; 1) below 97°C, 2) 97°C~250°C (Eσ=0.9 eV), 3) above 250°C (Eσ=0.8 eV). Below 97°C, the conductivity followed the W.L.F. equation (C1=15, C2=112), and the rate determining process for conduction seemed to be the chain rotation. Above 97°C, the mobility µ and the carrier density n were expressed as µ=µ0exp (-Eµ/kT), µ0≈104 cm2/V sec, and n=n0≈1018/cm3 from the absorption current measurement. Carriers were supposed to be impurity ions, and not amide protons. The simple ion jump model was applied to the conduction process, and the ion jump distance λ was estimated to be about 700 A. This jump distance also gave a value of µ0 which was consistent with the result obtained from the absorption current measurement. On the basis of the estimates of activation energies, the amorphous region was concluded to be the conductive region.

Paper reports on an experimental study of the air-entraining roller zone of hydraulic jumps in open channels. Hot-film anemometry techniques were used, involving instant digitizing of analog signals and delayed electronic processing of the tape-recorded data. The two phases (air versus water) were identified by a signal threshold. Results are presented on void ratio and average size and statistical size distribution of the entrained air bubbles for jumps with and without fully developed inflow. Findings confirm that the state of flow development of the supercritical stream entering the jump has a significant bearing on the resulting flow configuration within the jump body and thus, on the air-entraining capacity of the hydraulic jumps.

We use the theory of Dirichlet spaces to construct symmetric Markov processes of pure jump type and to identify the Lévy measures for these processes. Particular attention is paid to lattice and hard sphere systems which interact through speed change and exclusion.

For rarefied gases the collision frequency of the Krook kinetic equation is expressed as the sum of wall and gas collision frequencies. Effective transport coefficients arise from the Chapman—Enskog theory, and are similar to those proposed by other methods. The transport of either energy, momentum, or mass is analysed for several geometries. Profiles of temperature, velocity, and concentration, which involve jump and slip at the wall, are derived, and accommodation effects are included. The expressions have the proper limits for the continuum and free-molecule regimes, and compare well with other theories and experimental data for transition regime. Heat conduction formulas apply to polyatomic gases. Plane, concentric cylinder, and spherical geometries are considered.

Thirty-eight male university students served as Ss. They were tested for leg power using seven tests and for leg strength by means of cable tensiometer methods. The power tests were the vertical jump, standing broad jump, chalk board jump, 5-yd. sprint, 10-yd. sprint, running 5-yd. sprint, and a criterion power score consisting of a vertical jump task performed on a force platform. The leg strength tests were hip extension, knee extension, and ankle plantar flexion with scores recorded for both the dominant and nondominant legs. Data were treated by the product-moment, multiple correlation, canonical correlation, and factor analysis techniques. All the computed correlations were low to moderate suggesting that the contribution of strength to power is minor and that power is a more complex entity.

Uniaxial-stress experiments have shown that the V1 and VLi trapped hole centers in MgO reorient at low temperatures. The jump time has been determined by pulsed ELDOR which appears to be a useful technique for studying this kind of molecular motion in solids.

The equations of rigid body dynamics were used to provide a planer digital computer simulation of the flight phase of the Hitchkick, Hang, and Sail styles of long jumping. The formulation was based on the principle of conservation of angular momentum for the flight or free-fall phase of the jump. The analysis showed that each style of jumping requires specific and significantly different amounts of angular momentum in order to produce acceptable landing configurations. However, it is shown that given the proper angular momentum at take-off, the three styles of jumping are equally effective. A method is suggested whereby one can measure the angular momentum at take-off and use it to further study the long jump and make applications to training.

T he behavior of shock waves in an elastic-plastic material is investigated with systematic reference to the theory of shocks in fluids. The classical hydrodynamic theory and the notions of the Hugoniot curve and of the Hugoniot contour are first briefly reviewed. Then, it is shown that continuous adiabatic compression is not isentropic and that, in general, the Hugoniot curve cannot be obtained by the classical rate independent elastic-plastic behavior. Two methods are proposed in order to overcome this difficulty. The second one, which is physically more satisfactory, requires the introduction of rate effects. It is shown that when the shock structure is composed of a purely elastic jump followed by a continuous profile, the Hugoniot curve can be defined independently of the precise formulation of the law for the rate effects.

A step perturbation (concentration-jump or solvent-jump) relaxation method is described for studying the rates of fast reactions, using nontransient observation in a steadystate flow system. Therelaxation time is determined from a single measurement of an integrated relaxation amplitude. Remeasurement of the rate of dimerization of aqueous rhodamine B is reported.

SummaryThe effect of swirl on the high speed flow past blunt bodies is analysed by assuming constant density in the region between the shock wave and the body. For small swirl the stand-off distance is only slightly affected, but it is shown that there is a critical value of the swirl parameter which, if exceeded, will cause a jump in the position of the shock. This is demonstrated by solving the full constant-density equations for the flow past a sphere and by a perturbation expansion in powers of the density ratio across the shock for a more general body shape. The perturbation solution shows that the pressure coefficient on the body is constant at the critical swirl number.

Elementary components of nuclear magnetic relaxation in solid and molten polymers are discussed in terms of simplified but nevertheless useful models. As corresponding processes anisotropic defect rearrangement, defect diffusion (taking kinks as representative examples) and chain diffusion are considered. Jump models and random-walk treatments allow the calculation of the longitudinal relaxation dispersion. The analytic and numerical procedures used for this purpose produce model dispersion curves without any formal parameters. The relaxation behaviour of the models shows some specific features. The physical relevance of the models is compared qualitatively with experimental examples.

An expression is derived for the space-time distribution of the magnetic field of a magnetic dipole with time dependent moment, which is used as a model of a Barkhausen jump. The medium surrounding the dipole is a conductor of infinite dimensions.

The locust jumps by a rapid extension of its metathoracic tibiae. The comparatively slow rate of rise of tension of the extensor tibia muscle means that if it is to shorten rapidly, it must develop tension isometrically prior to the jump by co-contracting with the flexor muscle. The extensor muscle is far stronger than the flexor and thus there has to be considerable structural specialisation of the joint to enable the flexor to prevent the tibia moving under the extensor tension. The geometry of the joint gives the flexor muscle a very large mechanical advantage over the extensor in the fully flexed position. This mechanical advantage decreases rapidly as the joint extends so that the residual flexor tension does not slow down the movement (Fig. 4). There is also a locking device associated with the flexor tendon which is engaged when the tibia is fully flexed and which holds it in this position against the developing extensor force (Fig. 5).

A class of regular jump processes (RJP's) is introduced. An RJP is described in terms of the intensity function of its associated stochastic point process and the state-transition density of its embedded random-state sequence. Expressions for the joint occurrence statistics of these processes are derived. Assuming that an information stochastic process causally modulates an observed RJP, we obtain the joint occurrence statistics of the resulting compound jump processes. We show the latter to incorporate appropriately the causal MMSE estimate of the conditional intensities and state-transition functions. The results are used to derive a general likelihood-ratio formula for information processing of RJP's. A separation is observed between the likelihood processor of the point process associated with the observed RJP and the processor associated with the embedded stochastic state sequence. Considering the detection of RJP's with uncertain (statistically known) probability measures, we obtain the optimal Bayes receiver as the appropriate compound likelihood processor and thus exhibit separation between the detection and filtering operations.

Recently Siddiqi [6] gave a criterion for summability of the sequence {C keikx} whereC k denote the Fourier-Stieltjes coefficients of function of bounded variation only. In this paper we extend his results to the strictly larger classV p. In this way we not only extend the classical theorem of Fejer [2] on determination of jump of function of bounded variation but we also extend the classical theorem of Wiener [7] to the strictly larger classV p.

Anisotropy of the critical current density and the flux jump are studied experimentally by the measurement of the hysteresis losses in Nb–Ti–Zr wires. The axial critical current density determined from the hysteresis loss corresponds to that obtained from direct measurement by resistive transition, but the circular critical current density dces not. The magnetic field dependence of the critical current density differs in both cases. Anisotropy of the flux jump is also observed. These features can be explained as due to a highly anisotropic defect structure introduced in the wire drawing.

The formation of a hydraulic jump at an abrupt step is compared to that at a step with a rounded edge. It is shown that the large standing wave associated with the abrupt step does not form when the step is rounded and that downstream waves can be suppressed. Measurements of the range of tailwater depths over which the jump is located at the step are given and show only slight dissimilarities with similar measurements taken at abrupt steps. There is little difference in maximum bed velocities, but reversal of bed flow does not occur downstream of the rounded step.

Starting from a general stochastic-theory result in which the Hamiltonian is taken to jump at random between a number of forms, due, for example, to spin-spin or spin-lattice relaxation, we treat a model for the matrix which describes the relaxation process. In this, it is assumed that the probability of jump of the Hamiltonian from one state to another does not depend on the initial state. This simplifies calculations considerably and the result can be used to study some physical cases. A specialization of this model yields a simple closed-form expression for the line shape which is quite useful in experimental situations.

This is a brief report on some experimental measurements of flow of two fluids over an obstacle in a channel. A comparison is made between theoretical predictions of upstream disturbances and measurements of the height and speed of the upstream jump and the depth of the lower fluid over the obstacle crest. The results indicate substantial quantitative agreement between theory and observations when the lower fluid has a depth less than that of the upper fluid. The types of dynamic behavior possible for a single first order reaction carried out in a stirred tank reaction are classified according to values of the parameters and plots in parameter space used to define the various possibilites. Analytic criteria are developed which predict the existence and stability character of limit cycles as a function of the system parameters. The types of dynamic behavior predicted are illustrated by numerical computation of the temperature and concentration trajectories. Several kinds of new jump phenomena for this problem are observed and explained in terms of the parameter space plots. The theory and analysis methods can be easily generalized to other types of reaction systems.

The following mechanisms for ion movement in AgCl and AgBr have been studied: direct vacancy migration, direct interstitial migration and collinear as well as noncollinear jumps of interstitial ions. For the last two processes, we have carried out a path-variation study. The activation energies are high (⩾1.0 eV) for all the migration mechanisms considered here except for the collinear jump which has an activation energy around 0.6 eV. For both the collinear and noncollinear jumps, the paths of migration have been worked out.

Torrey has developed a theory of dipolar relaxation by atomic diffusion in polycrystalline solids for a model of nearest-neighbour jumps in which the average over crystal orientations was taken in an approximate way. The theory is developed here rigorously in a form which could be readily generalized to a single crystal and to more complicated jump models. As an example it is shown that the Torrey theory for a FCC lattice gives results for T1, T1 rho and T2 that are 2.5% too large for high temperatures and 1.4% too small for low temperatures. The errors would be larger for a BCC lattice and lattices with low coordination numbers.

The present paper considers the results of an experimental investigation of the volume jump Δ V and the light scattering by Barium Titanate single crystal as a function of the external electric field E and the temperature T in a narrow region of the tetragonal-cubic phase transition. It has first been established through X-ray and optical investigations that the same characteristic phenomena accompany the critical point for BaTi03, using an applied electric field in the capacity generalized force, and the critical point of other systems, i.e. a monotonous decrease in the volume jump between the two crystaline phases and an abrupt increase in the intensity of the scattered light. Depending on the properties of the ski jump, a skier completes his flight in 2.5–4.5 sec and can influence his motion trajectory in the air by changing the angle of attack of the body. Query: How should a sportsman control his body in flight in order to touch down at the greatest distance ?

Shock‐compression experiments were performed on specimens of nitromethane for several values of initial temperature. From these data, a continuum of Hugoniots centered at any initial temperature between the atmospheric pressure freezing and boiling states was obtained. The energy‐pressure‐volume equation of state then followed from a combination of the known variation of energy with temperature along the atmospheric pressure isobar and the Hugoniot jump relations. The energy‐entropy‐volume equation was generated by a numerical integration of the coupled differential equations governing the entropy and temperature variation along a Hugoniot. This work is believed to constitute the first totally experimental determination of the equation of state of a liquid in the 100 kbar region.

A model containing two hybridized narrow electron bands is considered. It is shown that in such a model a metal-insulator transition occurs connected with a jump in the conductivity. Some analogies to the Lifshitz instabilities are discussed. As a possible example for such a behaviour, the properties of VO are studied both qualitatively and quantitatively.

Rapid-speed photographs taken early, midway, and late in a series of 80 trials of a closed skill (backward jump for distance) were analyzed to determine the effect of practice on within-S variability in performance technique. Means and variability for the distance criterion remained constant over sessions while variability at angle of hip and ankle during landing and variability of joint velocities prior to take-off decreased. Differences between kinds of closed skills were considered in accounting for the outcome.

Several techniques commonly used for the Fourier analysis of oceanic data are compared quantitatively by using observed and synthetic internal wave records of short length. It is shown that end point jump creates much contamination and has to be removed. This contamination decreases only slowly as the record length increases. Owing to the peculiar deterministic-stochastic character of internal wave data, only two techniques are found to be appropriate: analysis after removal of a linear trend joining the end points of the record and analysis after prewhitening of the data. Data windowing introduces an important smearing of the inertial peak and thus is not always recommendable.

The least possible jump for a degree of unsolvability a is its join a ∪ 0′ with 0′. Friedberg [1] showed that each degree b ≥ 0′ is the jump of a degree a realizing least possible jump (i.e., satisfying the equation a′ = a ∪ 0′). Sacks (cf. Stillwell [8]) showed that most (in the sense of Lebesgue measure) degrees realize least possible jump. Nevertheless, degrees not realizing least possible jump are easily found (e.g., any degree b ≥ 0′) even among the degrees <0′ (cf. Shoenfield [5]) and the recursively enumerable (r.e.) degrees (cf. Sacks [3]).A degree is called minimal if it is minimal in the natural partial ordering of degrees excluding least element 0. The existence of minimal degrees <0” was first shown by Spector [7]; Sacks [3] succeeded in replacing 0” by 0′ using a priority argument. Yates [9] asked whether all minimal degrees <0′ realize least possible jump after showing that some do by exhibiting minimal degrees below each r.e. degree. Cooper [2] subsequently showed that each degree b > 0′ is the jump of a minimal degree which, as corollary to his method of proof, realizes least possible jump. We show with the aid of a simple combinatorial device applied to a minimal degree construction in the manner of Spector [7] that not all minimal degrees realize least possible jump. We have observed in conjunction with S. B. Cooper and R. Epstein that the new combinatorial device may also be applied to minimal degree constructions in the manner of Sacks [3], Shoenfield [6] or [4] in order to construct minimal degrees <0′ not realizing least possible jump. This answers Yates' question in the negative. Yates [10], however, has been able to draw this as an immediate corollary of the weaker result by carrying out the proof in his new system of prioric games.

A fully automated two-way locomotor training apparatus is described. The device employs two bilevel chambers that are separated by a length of straight alley. The rat is dropped from the distinctively cued upper level of one chamber onto the grid floor of its lower level. To escape shock, the rat must leave this lower level, traverse the alley segment, and jump into the upper level of the opposite compartment. Although the animal is required to traverse the same alley in two directions, its terminal response always carries it into a distinctive goal region where shock never occurs. A brief experiment is described that was designed to assess the effectiveness of this device in the acquisition and extinction of a locomotor escape response with rats.

Experimental investigations of the temperature dependence of the electrical conductivity σ(T) of VO2 thin films in coplanar switching devices have shown a thermistor-like behaviour of σ(T) below the critical temperature T = Tc. At Tc the VO2 material undergoes a structural phase transition of first kind which is connected with a sharp jump in the σ(T)-curve reaching a constant value σ2 for T ≧ Tc. Approximating the measured σ(T)-curve by σ1 = σo exp [– ΔE/kBT] for T < Tc (thermistor effect) and σ2 = const for T ≧ Tc the hitherto neglected influence of the thermistor effect on the static and dynamic switching behaviour of a coplanar. VO2 switching device is calculated numerically in dependence on relevant model parameters. Especially, the ambient temperature To is varied and an optimal value of To has been obtained where a minimal time of a switching cycle appears for a fixed parameter constellation.

The aim of this study was to determine the effect of cardboard box jumping exercises on squat-style long jump results in male students of SD Negeri 152 Palembang. The method in this study is pure experiment (experimental tru). Data obtained from test results were analyzed with data normality, homogeneity tests, and hypothesis testing using t test statistics. The results of data analysis and discussion can be concluded that: the average initial jump pretest squat style test in the experimental group students was 2.23, while the control group was 2.24 while the average final test (posttest) squat style long jump on the experimental group students were 2.51 while the control group was 2.27 and the results of testing the hypotheses obtained tcount> ttable or 17.5> 1.68 this meant that the hypothesis that there was an influence of the cardboard box jump training on the results of the long jump in class V male students The truth of Palembang 152 Public Elementary School is acceptable
