Production of 69mZn in the Oak Ridge Research Reactor by two nuclear reactions was studied using natural abundance Ga2O3 and isotopically enriched Ga2O3 and ZnO. The fission-neutron cross section for the 69Ga(n,p)69mZn reaction was determined to be 0·496 ± 0.073 mb, and separation of the zinc products from gallium target was achieved by solvent extraction. Production of 69PmZn reaction produced an average isotopic abundance of 2·22 mCi of 69mZn per mg of zinc target.
