The reaction of fluorine with the potassium salt of dinitroacetonitrile in the presence of potassium fluoride leads not only to replacement of the cation of the salt by the fluorine atom, but also to the addition of fluorine to the multiple bonds of the nitrile group. The reaction of fluorine with the sodium salt of dinitroacetonitrile in the presence of calcium fluoride gives fluorodinitroacetonitrile. 2. The electrophilic character of the nitrile grouping in fluorodinitroacetonitrile was shown on the examples of the reactions with ammonia, methanol, and difluoronitroethanol. The previously unknown hydrochloride of fluorodinitroacetamidine, and the methyl and difluoronitroethyl esters of iminofluorodinitroacetic acid, were obtained.

Background and Objective: The treatment of diabetic foot osteomyelitis (DFO) is a controversial issue, with disagreement regarding whether the best treatment is surgical or conservative. The purpose of this study was to compare the outcome of patients with DFO who were treated with antibiotherapy alone and those who underwent concurrent minor amputation. Methods: Hospital records of patients who were diagnosed as having DFO within a 2-year study period were retrospectively reviewed. Patients were divided into two groups: those who received antibiotherapy alone and those who underwent concurrent minor amputation. Groups were compared in terms of duration in hospitalization, antibiotherapy, and wound healing. Results: Thirty seven patients were included in the study. These comprised patients who received antibiotherapy alone (ABG, n = 15) and patients who underwent concurrent minor amputation (AB-MAG, n = 22). Hospitalization duration was 37.2 (+/- 16.2) days in ABG and 52.8 (+/- 40.2) days in AB-MAG (p = 0.166). Mean duration of antibiotherapy was 45.0 (+/- 21.7) days in ABG and 47.7 (+/- 19) days in AB-MAG (p = 0.689). Wound healing duration was 265.2 (+/- 132.7) days in ABG and 222.6 (+/- 85.9) days in AB-MAG (p = 0.243). None of the outcome measures were significantly different between ABG and AB-MAG. Conclusions: Our results have shown similar outcomes for both patient groups who received antibiotherapy alone and who underwent concurrent minor amputations. Considering the small sample sizes in this study, it is important to confirm these results on a larger scale.

Muscular exertion rate of the bike riders is an indicator of their fatigue. Monitoring this phenomena and letting it know to the bikers or other concerned, bike designers will help in modifying the design of bike that causes low muscular exertion of the biker and hence low fatigue. To send such data to a remote monitoring state where they can be analyzed. This can be done with the help of a network of short range wireless sensor nodes with suitable transmission technology. This thesis focused mainly on the comparative study of ZigBee, ANT and BLE(Bluetooth Low Energy). The Idea is to collect the muscular exertion data with relevant sensor, send it to the mobile and then using an appropriate short range wireless transmission technique send it to the concerned remote monitoring centre. The criterion to find the solution is based on transmission rate and powerconsumption by that technology.The comparative study show that the BLE is the most suitable technology contemporarily available on which we can build our solution for bike rider’s fatigue monitoring problem. This is verified by the results from experiments with BLE development kits from CSR, Texas Instruments and Nordic Semiconductors.

UNLABELLED Diabetic macular edema (DME), one the most prevalent causes of visual loss in industrialized countries, may be diagnosed at any stage of diabetic retinopathy. The diagnosis, treatment, and follow up of DME have become straightforward with recent developments in fundus imaging, such as optical coherence tomography. Laser photocoagulation, intravitreal injections, and pars plana vitrectomy surgery are the current treatment modalities; however, the positive effects of currently available intravitreally injected agents are temporary. At this point, further treatment choices are needed for a permanent effect. SOURCES OF DATA SELECTION The articles published between 1985-2015 years on major databases were searched and most appropriate 40 papers were used to write this review article.
