The article presents news related to world politics. The United Nations forces in Korea seemed certain to face further withdrawals under the pressure of the numerically superior and hard-fighting North Koreans. The main features of the U.S. President Harry S. Truman's Midyear Economic Report are discussed. The American economy is so highly productive that it can easily provide the goods for any war, big or little, Second, American civilians are already snapping up the goods produced so quickly that even the Korean war cannot be fought without diminishing their present rate of consumption.
