A survey is given of the analysis of actinide nuclides by means ofa-spectrometry in high-level radioactivity process solutions resulting from reprocessing of spent U-Th fuel. Separation of fission products and isolation of the nuclides228Th,231Pa,232U,237Np and238Pu are performed by adsorption, ion-exchange, extraction chromatography and extraction techniques. After separation, samples for quantitative determination are prepared by electrodeposition and measured using a silicon-surface barrier detector combined with a multichannel analyzer. An error estimation is given.

Separation and charaterisation of mixed cyano—thiocyanatochromates(III) by gel ionophoresis The mixed ligand complexes [Cr(SCN)x(CN)6−x]3− are separated by an electrophoretic apparatus consisting of a separating tube. The composition of the complexes is confirmed by elementary analysis and absorption spectra.

Apparatus for gel ionophoreis in non-aqueous solvents A simple ionophoretic technique has been developed using the method of moving boundaries. Stabilisation of the separating media can be accomplished by gel-forming cellulose acetate. The gelling agents hold out promise of use on a wider scale for ionophoresis in non-aqueous solvents. The method is verified by separating [Cr(SCN)6]3- and [Cr(CN)6]3- in formamide.

Die Wiederaufarbeitung kugelformiger THTR-Reaktor-Brennelemente soll mit der Julicher Versuchsanlage JUPITER in halbtechnischem Masstab erprobt werden. Dieser Brennelementtyp unterscheidet sich in Form, Zusammensetzung und Spaltstoffgehalt deutlich von anderen Reaktor-Brennelementen und erfordert besondere Masnahmen bei der Wiederaufarbeitung und der hierbei durchzufuhrenden Materialbilanzierung und Spaltstofffluskontrolle.

Paper ionophoretic investigation of the composition of a mixture of cyano-thiocyanatochromates(III) When K 3 [Cr(SCN) 6 ] reacts with KCN in boiling acetonitrile a mixture of all complex ions [Cr(SCN) 6− x (CN) x ] 3− ( x = 0, 1, … 6) is formed. This reaction can be observed by high-voltage paper ionophoresis. The R B -values give a first evidence of the composition of the complex ions.

Klinik und neuropathologische Befunde bei metaneoplastischer Encephalitis werden an Hand zweier eigener Beobachtungen beschrieben. Einmal handelt es sich um einen 54jahrigen Mann, der an einem Bronchialcarcinom erkrankt war, zum anderen um eine 59jahrige Frau mit einem malignen Ovarialtumor. Bei beiden Patienten standen wahrend der 11- bzw. 18monatigen Krankheitsdauer cerebellare Symptome im Vordergrund. Histologisch fand sich das Bild eines ausgedehnten, perivasalen lymphocytar-entzundlichen Prozesses mit diffusen und knotchenartigen Gliareaktionen unter Bevorzugung des temporo-insularen Cortex, der Stammganglien des Hirnstammes und des Kleinhirns mit nahezu vollstandigem Untergang der Purkinjezellen.
