A photo-electronic device for analysis of three-dimensional motion of human body without laborious frame by frame analysis of cine film records was constructed in the present study. The apparatus consisted of three photoelectronic units including cylindrical lenses and photoelectronic elements. Each unit gave electrical output signals corresponding to X-, Y- and Z-axis co-ordinates of the target position, respectively. Functional dependence of the output of the unit on the position was linear. The measuring system developed in this study enabled us to measure and record the displacements of human motion in any direction as well as velocity and acceleration components under both static and dynamic conditions.

ガスハイドレート法による海水,かん水の濃縮あるいは淡水採取の基礎試験の一部として,ハイドレート結晶として分離される水単位量当りのハイドレート剤ガスの圧縮動力費に大きな影響をおよぼす水和数をジクロルジフルオルメタン, ジクロルモノフルオルメタンおよびモノクロルジフルオルメタンについて測定した。ハイドレート- 水- M ( 気) の3 相平衡とハイドレート- 氷- 食塩水-M(気)の4相平衡におけるハイドレートの生成熱を用いて計算するde Forcrand法と塩分濃度の変化によって生じる生成圧力の変化に対し,質量作用の法則を適用するMiller&Strong法によって計算した。得られた結果を総括すると次の通りである。1.水和数はde Forcrand法,Miller&Strong法についてジクロルジフルオルメタンではそれぞれ16.7,16.3,ジクロルモノフルオルメタンでは17.6,19.2,モノクロルジフルオルメタンでは7.6,6.2であり,前二者は構造II型にまた後者は構造Itrans型に属する。2.Miller&Strong法にくらべてde Forcrand法によって求めた水和数は構造模型から導いた理論水和数によく一致する。3.de Forcrand法で求めた結合水1分子当りの生成熱はジクロルジフルオルメタンでは1.95kcal/mol・H2O,ジクロルモノフルオルメタンでは,1.92kcal/mol・H2O,モノクロルジフルオルメタンでは2.55kcal/mol・H2Oとなり,構造II型のハイドレートを作るハイドレート剤は構造I型のハイドレートを作るものよりも有利である。4.ハイドレート-氷-食塩水-M(気)の4相平衡における生成熱はジクロルジフルオルメタン,ジクロルモノフルオルメタン,モノクロルジフルオルメタンについてそれぞれ8.63 , 8.49 , 7.78 kcal/mol M である。

In the course of studies concerning the reverse action of l-glutamic acid decarboxylase, the authors have asserted the inhibition of α-ketoglutaric acid and the presence of l-glutamic acid and γ-aminobutyric acid in the enzyme preparations. Finally, evidence for the interconversion of α-ketoglutaric-γ-aminobutyric transaminase and l-glutamic acid decarboxylase preparations isolated from plant tissue was established in our laboratory.

In a hot cathode discharge tube with a coaxial electrode configuration, low frequency oscillations (300c/s-30kc/s) propagating in the direction of ExB (where E is a radial electric field and B0is an external magnetic field) are observed when B0exceeds a low critical value. The used gas is Ar and Hg. The results of the experimonts are in agreement with a theoritical analysis based on the fluid equations taking into account the collisions between charged and neutral particles. Oscillations are caused by a azimuthal macroscopic relative velocity between electrons and ions. For the case of low pressure, the oscillations seems to be ion acoustic waves. But these seem to be drift waves if the pressure is so high that the collision frequency is larger than the frequency of oscillations.

The taste is one of the important factors in food life. In order to investigate the psychological effect of an environmental condition on the taste, a special sensory testing room which was able to control temperature, illumination and stereophonic condition was prepared.The sensory test was conducted with selected panel by using Duo-trio test under the different environment.The results indicated that the correct answer in Duo-trio test was obtained significantly by higher in comfortable environment than in uncomfortable one.And it was found that the illumination was the significant environmental factor which influenced to the taste.It should be noted that the taste is not only influenced by the food components and cooking method, but also by the environment conditions.

Energetics of the populations of three isopods,Armadillidium vulgare, Porcellio scaber andLigidium japonicum were studied in a warm-temperate evergreen broadleaved forest of Mt. Kiyosumi in central Japan. The study deals with age composition, survivorship curves, relations of body size to number of eggs or young, and mean growth curves of the populations. Respiratory rates, calorific values and food consumptions of the individual animals were determined in the laboratory. Population density ofA. vulgare was highest of the three species, being about 350/m2 in June 1966. The survivorship curve of theL. japonicum population was more close to L-type than the others. Average total biomass for populations ofA. vulgare, P. scaber andL. japonicum were 3.3 kcal/m2, 0.67 kcal and 0.43 kcal on the monthly basis, respectively. The energy of 35.2 kcal/m2 was estimated to be assimilated by theA. vulgare population, 7.84 kcal byP. scaber and 6.91 kcal byL. japonicum during the period from October 1965 to September 1966. The relations between assimilationA and productionP for fish, grasshopper and isopod populations were found to be expressed asA=aP b . The values of the constanta for the fish, grasshopper and isopod populations seem to be in the range from 10 to 25, from 2 to 7 and from 4 to 8, respectively. Production efficiencies presented asP/A ofA. vulgare, P. scaber andL. japonicum populations were estimated as 19.1%, 15.3% and 13.1%, respectively. The ecological efficiency represented asM/C of these isopod populations was estimated to be in the range from 7.6% to 11. 2%. Reproduction efficiency (Rp/P) ofL. japonicum population was 20%, being the highest value of the three isopod species. This may be related to the L-type survivorship curve ofL. japonicum population. Reproduction efficiency, relating closely to the age structure of the population, is important in the investigation of populations of animals, particularly those that have long life span.

The results are summarized as follows;For these several years consumption amount of green vegetables increased gradually and demand to these green vegetables was increasing.We used broccoli and string beans as experiment material, and stored these materials at room and ice box. String beans lost freshness rapidly after harvest, on the other hand broccoli lost food value easily by blossoming.We examined about quality, moisture content and chlorophyll content.Quality of the vegetables in ice box was much better than others. Moisture content and pigment of the vegetables in ice box reminded more than others.Cold temperature was very effective during storage on quality, moisture content and pigment of vegetables.

The experimental results agree with the results of the analysis based on the two-fluid model in which the effect of the collisions between charged and neutral particles is taken into account. Oscillations are excited by an azimuthal relative velocity between electrons and ions. When the plasma is uniform, the waves are ion acoustic waves. When the plasma is non-uniform, the wave frequencies are determined by the drift velocity and the ratio of the electron to ion mobilities, if the collision frequency is higher than the oscillation frequency.

Summary Seven adenomatous polyps and 11 villous adenomas of the colon and rectum were studied by light and electron microscopy. Villous adenomas were broad based or occasionally short stalked tumors with numerous long frondlike villous projections reaching the lamina propria. On the ultrastructural level the majority of cells of villous adenomas were reminiscent of goblet cells having markedly osmiophilic cytoplasm with numerous short processes giving rise to relatively wide intercellular spaces. The basement membrane generally resembled that of the normal mucosa, but had focal disruptions resulting in apparent loss of demarkation between the epithelial cells and the stroma. The above findings were seen only in villous adenomas and are believed to indicate disturbances in the differentiation of cellular surfaces. Apparent migration of villous adenoma cells through the basement membrane is probably a manifestation of the invasive potential of villous adenoma cells and is consistent with malignant potential suspected on the basis of clinical and light microscopic observations. Adenomatous polyps were pedunculated masses composed of tubuloacinar glands. Ultrastructurally, the majority of cells of adenomatous polyps resembled normal colonic columnar cells. Features of the cellular surfaces and basement membrane were similar to those of the normal mucosa.

Time rates of growing and damping of resistive instability in gaseous plasma in the crossed electric and magnetic fields are obtained experimentally. The discharge tube used has a coaxial cylindrical configuration with a grid, and works in the state of “anode glow mode”. The gas used is Ne, Ar and Hg. The damping rate is measured by means of an external excitation of damping waves by supplying a rectangular pulse to the grid. The growth rate is obtained by an observation of the transient of self-excitation of waves by abrupt change of the magnetic field strength beyond the critical field. Those experimental results are compared with those obtained theoretically using equations of three component fluid model.

The productivity of the final larval and adult populations of a large sized diplopod,Japonaria laminata armigera were studied at a warm temperate ever-green broad leaf forest in Chiba Japan. The population density was about 200/m2 in May 1962, and 7/m2 in May 1966, the former being about 30 times as much as the latter. A remarkable growth of animals was seen from June to November, and the growth pattern of individuals in both populations was very similar. The constantb in the formulaR=aWb representing the relation between body weight and oxygen consumption ofJaponaria laminata was determined at 0.81, andQ10 was estimated at about 2. The amounts of growth and assimilation were calculated. The pattern of dynamics in terms of productivity of the population in the two periods were very similar. But, the amounts of assimilation were computed at 57.8 kcal/m2/from May 1962 to April 1963, and 3.01 kcal from May 1966 to April 1967. The former is 20 times as much as the latter. The growth or ecological efficiencies for the populations were similar.

ガスハイドレート法による海かん水濃縮の基礎試験の一部として,ハイドレート剤の選定に関する一連の試験を行なっているのでその一部を報告する。すなわち外側ジャケット冷却式, 内容積1lの耐圧容器を使ってジクロルジフルオルメタンおよびモノクロルジフルオルメタンの純水, 各種濃度食塩水および海水などのハイドレート生成ライン, 凝縮ラインなどいわゆる相平衡図(温度-圧力状態図)を作成した。得られた結果を総括すると次の通りである。1.ジクロルジフルナルメタン, モノクロルジフルオルメタンハイドレートの純水に対する臨界分解点はそれぞれ12.6℃,3332mmHgおよび17.8℃,6452mmHgである。食塩水の場合, その生成ラインは純水の生成ラインと平行して高圧低温側に移動し濃度が大きい程移動距離は大きい。2.食塩水による臨界分解温度の低下は,ハイドレート剤の種類のいかんを問わず濃度の増加と共に,ほぼ一様に低下し, 濃度約15%程度まではほとんど直線関係が成立する。ジクロルジフルオル, ジクロルモノフルオル, モノクロルジフルオル, およびモノクロルモノフルオルメタン, 臭化メチル, およびプロパンでの平均では, その勾配は0.56±0.0l3℃/%NaClとなる。3.平衡図の勾配から計算したハイドレート生成熱は,ジクロルジフルオルメタンおよびモノクロルジフルナルメタンに対しそれぞれ32.94,20.25kcal/m・molとなり, 前者が水和数17 のII型, 御者が72/3のI型構造に属すという推測と一致する。

Time rates of growing and damping of resistive instability in gaseous plasma in crossed fields are measured. The discharge tube used is a coaxial cylindrical type with a grid. By means of an external excitation of damping waves or an observation of the transient of self‐excitation of waves by an abrupt change of the magnetic field strength, the damping or the growth rates can be determined. The results thus obtained agree with those indicated theoretically.
