Abstract

Six dogs were subjected to arterialization of the left anterior descending vein (LADV). Tests showed that the predominant flow through these vessels did perfuse the myocardium: Lowering of oxygen content of the perfusing blood and myocardial uptake of macroaggregate albumin 131I were noted. The possibility of small atrioventricular (A-V) shunts was not excluded.
