Abstract

A CONNECTION is established between classes of ELR(l)-grammars, introduced in [1], and the total precedence grammars (TP-grammars). It is shown that the set of ELR(l)-grammars (languages) includes the set of TP-grammars (languages). The methods of ELR(1) parsing and TP-parsing are compared.

Abstract

AN EXTENSION of Knuth's algorithm for parsing context-free languages is considered. The algorithm proposed is not a left-sided parsing algorithm. It is shown how, by slightly changing the grammar, it is in many cases possible to attain unique parsing by means of an extension of Knuth's algorithm.

The methyl esters of branched carboxylic acids containing quaternary and tertiary C atoms in thea-position, together with a small amount of the corresponding carboxylic acids, are formed during the hydrocarbomethoxylation of the straight-chain C5-C9 olefins at atmospheric pressure in the presence of concentrated H3PO4.
