This article focuses on two plays "Man of La Mancha," by Dale Wasserman, Mitch Leigh and Joe Darion, and "You Can't Take It With You," by George Kaufman. The musical play by Wasserman, Leigh and Darion is a story of Don Quixote is so irreducibly touching that it works here as it does in almost every telling. The play by Kaufman, tells the viewers in glib good nature not to worry too much about taking packs of money or about the nonsense of paying the income tax or, working at jobs a person don't care anything about, is essentially a fairy tale. The actors play with a relaxation, which is not simply technical, but a consequence of the honorable course they have pursued in the theatre.

This article focuses on the Soviet Union's revolutionary leader Angelica Balabanoff. Angelica died on November 25, 1965 in Rome. She had dissociated herself from the Soviets in 1923 because she refused to compromise her vision of socialism. Angelica, the last great liberal and humanist of her generation, outlived her worst enemy by twenty years. She went to live in Italy, a country she loved beyond all others. Her hatred of communism and Communists amounted to an obsession. This tiny dark-eyed, mild-mannered woman would turn into a regular virago at the mere mention of Stalin's name.
