Abstract

A literary criticism of the drama "The Tragedy of Ophelia" by David A. McKnight is presented. It looks at the pursuit of Ophelia on Hamlet forbidden by her father. It highlights the renunciation of Hamlet when he comes in contact with Ophelia because he believes that she has thrusted him aside when she engages in an intrigue with the King. It explains the conduct of Hamlet for his treatment of Ophelia which removes him the stigma of brutishness or insanity.
