The article discusses the findings of the 14-month study of U.S. Surgeon General Doctor Luther L. Terry that concluded smoking as a definite health risk. It reports the causal relationship between smoking and lung cancer, lip cancer for pipe smokers, cancer of the larynx and chronic bronchitis and association but unproven causal link for heart diseases, cancer of the esophagus and pulmonary emphysema.
