Fur die verschiedenen Abscheider werden die auf die Gasleitung bezogenen Kosten, die ungefahren Grenzen der Abscheidemoglichkeit, der Druckverlust und die Preise fur amerikanische und deutsche Verhaltnisse angegeben.

The method given by Pekeris for He-atom and generalized recently by Frost for three-particle system is applied to calculate the binding energies of excitons bound to ionized donors and acceptors. The calculations are carried out for different values of γ = me∗/mh∗ where me∗ and mk ∗ are the effective masses of the electron and the hole respectively. For ionized donors the system is stable for γ 0. 227 is necessary to provide a stable system.

The plastic incipient flow of V-notched axially symmetric bars with different slope of the two generators is considered using theTresca yield criterion and associated flow rule. The experimental results show good agreement with theoretical solutions.

Theoretical and experimental results are presented for plastic flow of axially symmetric notched bars. The slip-line fields have been calculated numerically using the Shield theory of axially symmetric plastic flow. The load factors obtained from the theoretical solutions differ only slightly from those for plane strain conditions. Two sets of specimens were investigated in order to obtain the actual load factors for V-shaped and rounded notches. The agreement between the theory and experimental results is satisfactory. In the last series of experiments the influence of the diameter of the bar outside the notch was investigated and later compared with the theoretically estimated value of that diameter.

Temperatures in 4 simple thermometer shelters over a 3-1/2 hour period, under nighttime radiant cooling conditions were compared in early June, 1972. Temperatures within shelters having a single roof of wood or plastic were found to be significantly lower than air measured by an aspirated thermocouple. Temperatures in shelters having a double roof of wood did not differ significantly from air temperature. The temperature differences among single- and double-roof shelters were not considered sufficient to warrant the use of a double-roof shelter for orchard thermometer support.

Antihemophilic factor concentrate was given on fixed schedules to adults with severe classic hemophilia who had very frequent hemorrhages. While receiving 250 factor VIII units a day, the subjects had almost half as many bleeding episodes as during a baseline period; on a regimen of 500 factor VIII units a day, bleeding episodes occurred about one fourth as often as during the baseline period. When a large dose, 2,000 factor VIII units, was given once a week, no bleeding episodes occurred in the first 48 hours, but occurred again in midweek when factor VIII levels had returned to baseline values. Prophylaxis in hemophilia with factor VIII concentrate is feasible and beneficial; the expense may not be much greater than that of treating random hemorrhages.
