An account is given of animal immigrants having invaded the Delta area in the SW. Netherlands since about 1960. Animals purposefully introduced and new species, previously not recognized as such are left out of consideration. Attention is drawn toBalanus amphitrite amphitrite, Mercierella enigmatica, Hydroides elegans andGobius niger. Some ecological characteristics of these species are added, together with short notes on competition with native species and fitness of the environment to receive immigrants.
