This article presents information related to sociological affairs. The Annual Meeting will be held at the Hotel New Yorker in New York City on March 24 and 25, 1956. Research proposals directed to the Division of Biological and Medical Sciences will be received at any time. The proposals on research projects to begin in June or September 1956 will be reviewed during March. These proposals should be received by the Foundation prior to February 1, 1956. Projects in the areas of anthropology, human ecology, functional archaeology, experimental social psychology, and demography are included in the Division's program. The Population Council Inc. is offering several fellowships for advanced training in the study of population at the pre-doctoral and post-doctoral levels. Fellowships will be available for study in American universities during the academic year 1956-57. Associates for International Research Inc., a professional research and consultation firm in Cambridge, Massachusetts, has undertaken a survey of the social, political, and economic structure of several Eastern European countries. Robert Garren of the University of North Carolina has joined the staff as Assistant Professor of Sociology and will teach in the areas of race relations, social psychology, population and public opinion.
