The article examines the factors to be considered in eradicating the consequences of animal diseases on the health and social well-being and their consequences in developing countries. The major lethal diseases of cattle in developing countries such as viral disease, hemorrhagic septicemia and protozoal blood parasites were discussed to show some of the problems in order to arrive at decisions of control and eradication. By weighing the various interests and claims of the whole economy, and the social organization of a particular country, a sensible decision to follow a control or eradication policy in a developing country can be achieved.
