The article focuses on the effects of bacterial endotoxins on the human body. Andre Boivin of the Pasteur Institute in Paris, France was the first to isolate endotoxins 30 years ago. Gram-negative type bacteria produces endotoxins. Endotoxins act fast in the body. White blood cells are affected by the endotoxins. The physiologic response to an injection of endotoxin is described.
