The article discusses the production of freshwater fish for consumption in Eastern European Communities. The statistical data in marketing organization for the freshwater fish are not that highly developed compared to the marine fish, however, in the retail and wholesale market freshwater fish fetches good prices. The production of freshwater fish in Eastern Europe depends largely on carp and other anadromous species.
