Effective fishery management is considered to be dependent on observation of basic principles and its clarification research. It is not an easy operation since it is complex and seasonal. It was found out that the demands on freshwaters are increasing rapidly. The fisheries are also dependent on sound and careful management.

The study found that egg cells incubated in warmer water began hatching 13 days earlier than those exposed in ambient temperature. The study also showed that the mortality of the group in warmer water was 19.5% while those from the ambient temperature group was 18.1% . The article discusses two methods used in estimating the size of fish population in freshwater. Under the multiple census mark-recapture method, the water studied is fished several times and the unmarked fish caught are marked and returned to the water with the assumption that the population size remains constant in the process. While the depletion method lies on a principle that in a closed population, the catch per unit effort will be proportional to the number of fish available to be caught.

The eggs together with milt from three smaller males were placed in a hatchery with a water supply of 25-30 gallon per hour and a temperature of 11-13 degrees Celsius.
