The article presents an exploratory study on the supervisory climate and performance ratings of workers at the Navy Finance Center (NFC). The study involves the collection of the Self and Estimate-ratings of workers and their superiors in four-trait rating scales including production orientation, consideration for subordinates, and job assignment skills. It shows that the correlation between estimate and self-ratings is higher in the employee population who supervisors have low job assignment skills.
