The article reports on pricing devices utilized in electric power companies and their applications for the field of marketing. The author focuses on components of the pricing structure developed by rate makers in the electric power industry. Special attention is given to the pricing device of initial and follow-up prices. It is suggested that some of the pricing policies used for electric utilities be implemented by professionals working in the retail and grocery trades. The author discusses his predictions for how consumers might react to possible changes in the pricing policies of commercial products and services.
