The article focuses on the study of satellites without complex equipment. The method is based on the Doppler shift, the apparent decrease of pitch noted when a source of sound, such as a train whistle, rushes past the observer. Radio-equipped satellites are in effect whistling objects. The distance of the satellite is determined by measuring the pitch of the sound at brief intervals during the period.
